Photo Booth Fix has been killed by 10.4.8 update...

Hi, I'm a first time poster but a long time reader of the discussion boards and I am having an issue with the Photobooth fix.
I remember having read that after 10.4.6 came out that the photobooth fix (where a person opens photobooth and then clicks a picture and then quits photobooth) had been killed only to find that people were downloading the USB drivers and then reinstalling them to go ahead and get the photobooth fix back. The update that I remember everyone using was the USB debug kit (http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/download/usbdebug.html) and the version everyone used was 240.4.3. I installed that one after 10.4.6 and found that it did indeed give back the photobooth fix. Well this time, after 10.4.8, I did the same thing and found that when it restarted I had no use of the keyboard or trackpad...
I was wondering if anyone knew which driver edition works with 10.4.8 to restore the photobooth fix because the whine is killing me right now and I don't wanna send it back in because I can't part with the computer for any day.

I am having the same difficulty. I upgraded my PowerBook G4 and my intel iMac to 10.4.8. PPC has no problems and sees my Airport Express just fine. The iMac did OK for a couple days, but then couldn't connect. On macfixit.com, someone said turning off firewall did the trick. I did it, and it connected. Turned it back on, and it's been working no problem for a few days.
But, yesterday, my network doesn't show up in the airport menu - can't connect if it's not in the menu! Popped open the laptop, it's there and connects as usual. I rebooted the iMac, and it showed up. But lost it again when I came home from work.
I installed the 10.4.8 Combo update, which was another suggestion on macfixit, and after the reboot, the network is in the menu and it connects. Stayed connected overnight. We'll see if it is stays connected for days like it used to pre-10.4.8....
I couldn't find anywhere that anyone else was having this problem. I really regret updating so quickly - should have been more suspect with a 150MB update!

I'm getting the error message "Photos folder syncing has been disabled for the iPhone <my iPhone> because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found." lately.
Normally, all I do with photos is move them from my iPhone to my computer's (Windows 7) hard drive. I do this by connecting the iPhone with the cable, a box pops up on the screen asking me what I want to do, and I choose "Import pictures and videos". I've previously selected the "delete photos from the device after move" option (or however it's worded...), simply because I don't want this device to fill up with photos.
Lately, it has been importing the photos fine, but it won't delete them from the iPhone. This used to work just fine, now it doesn't work and I don't know what changed, if anything. In iTunes, I get the error message I list at the beginning of this message.
How do I fix this?

Session that has been killed hangs around

This is probably an old issue and many may have figured out but I haven't and need your help. We have noticed that when the application sessions get hung in the Oracle server (we are running Oracle 9.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3), we kill them with ALTER SYSTEM command. The session status shows it has been KILLED but it does not vanish. Then we look for associated PID and do "ps -ef" but the process is no longer there. How we get rid of sessions that are hung and subsequently KILLED but have not gone away ? The only we have figured out to clean them up is by restarting the instance. We can't afford to restart the instance in production to handle this. Can someone let me know how to handle this ?

the killed sessions will show in v$session until PMON clears them up (yes, during startup).
the unix process is dead, and the killed session is not taking ANY resource. it shows KILLED in v$session just like INACTIVE sessions do. why do you mind them?

PMON will not delete the session object itself until the client connected to
that session notices that it has been killed. Therefore, the sequence of
events is:
1) alter system kill session is issued - the STATUS of the session object in
V$SESSION becomes KILLED, its server becomes PSEUDO.
2) PMON cleans up the resources allocated to the session
(i.e., rolls back its transaction, releases its locks, etc).
3) the entry in V$SESSION remains there until the client of that session (the
client is the process associated with the OSUSER,MACHINE,PROCESS columns in
the V$SESSION view) tries to do another request.
4) the client attempts another SQL statement and gets back ORA-28.
5) PMON can now remove the entry from V$SESSION.
This behavior is necessary because the client still has pointers to the
session object even though the session has been killed. Therefore, the
object cannot be deleted until the client is no longer pointing at it.

I am not sure how to handle this. I am trying to see if PHP can identify when oracle drops session, can another script restart it. Any suggestions.

TAF: instead of waiting, ORA-00028: your session has been killed

I'm testing the ability of our application to work with a RAC cluster.
When I stop a node with the command:
srvctl stop service -d DB_UNIQUE_NAME -s SERVICE -f, I expect that the driver will try to reconnect transparently without notifying the application.
In some circumstances, the application may receive errors in the range ORA-25400 - ORA-25425, but the reconnect should be automatic anyway.
This is the case, mostly.
But the last time when I stopped the node, 9 of 10 threads of our app began to wait for the driver's reply (as expected). And one thread instantly received the error: ORA-00028: your session has been killed
The subsequent attempts to use this connection failed with: ORA-01012: not logged on

When you say you changed your password, did you change it on Manage My AppleID? If so, once you did that, did you sign out of the iTunes & App Store on your iPod Touch? If you did not, then you need to do that, then sign back in with your new password.

So, here is an update to my original question, in case anyone else has this issue. I spoke with a senior adviser at apple, who had me use the "devmgmt.msc" command in the search line of Windows 7; after expanding the USB controllers menu, she had me uninstall/delete the "apple mobile device driver" and then open "control panel" and "uninstall programs." Once the menu of programs was open, she had me highlight the program "apple mobile device controller", then repair it, and restart the computer. This fixed the issue and the iPod synced.
However, just one day ago, when I plugged in both the iPod, then the iPad (not at the same time), I get the message that "this library has already been synced to another iPod/iPad or other IOS device." It then asked if I wanted to set up as a new device or from restore of previous. That is wher I am right now; I am trying to get the same apple adviser again to discuss the case number. More to follow.

I think I'm way past this point. I don't want to lose all my data either. Half the time it won't even open after entering my security code. If I push an app or try to do a certain (any) function, it freezes and reboots automatically.

(1) a Flash Player stopped flashing, an "player stopped" message appeared, "send error report" and a reload player message was included. (2) I just received a error message > 400 "Bad Request" when the browser first opened. This has never happened before.

I just realized that I wrote that I installed from app store originally, but I must correct that statement. I never paid for the app so it must have come preinstalled on my 2011 iMac. I was confused since the update is through the store so I assumed I downloaded it. Sorry for any miscommunication.
So to be clear, even though I have never remotely administered / accessed my computer and I no longer have ARD on my computer, it is normal to have the client update appear in my App Store. Is that correct?
