Photo Booth is "Deleted"

Hi, my photobooth is deleted, it just vanished. It's not in my spotlight, and not in my applications folder. What happened, and what do I do?

Restoring Lost OS X Files
If you erase or otherwise "lose" an OS X system component, application or utility (such as Mail or Disk Utility, for example) you can restore them without having to reinstall OS X.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist. Read the documentation. Use Pacifist to extract a fresh copy of the missing application from the file archives on your OS X Installer disc. The file archives are usually found on the installer disc in the /System/Installations/ folder. Insert the Installer Disc in the optical drive and wait until it mounts on the Desktop. Select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Drag the Installer Disc to the path field of the Go to Folder dialog.
After restoring the application you need to reinstall the OS X Combo Updater for the version of OS X you currently have installed. This assures the new copy of the application is updated to the current version.
Lastly, it's a good idea to repair permissions.

I think i accidently deleted my photo booth. Can you please help me how I can get it back?

i just tried to delete it as well, but it is a part of os x so you cannot delete it. as tomo2 above says, either you just dragged it off the dock accidentally, or in case you did delete it by some god-knows-what method, you will need to boot from your os x dvd that came with your mac and install it back. thats the only (trusted) place you can find it.

  • Can't see the bottom of Photo Booth

Suddenly I can't see the bottom of Photo Booth to delete photos I don't like. The toolbar at the bottom is in the way. Making the toolbar smaller doesn't seem to help. This is a recent problem. It wasn't happening before. Did I do something to make this happen? Can I fix it? I'd appreciate any tips!

    HI Patty...
    Try deleting this file. com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
BTW, you posted this in the Safari for Mac forum.
I'm going to ask a host to move you thread to the Tiger forum.
Also, please click My Settings on the right side of this window and type in which Mac you have, scroll down and click Save. Thanks!

  • Photo Booth got lost.

(Hope this is in the right forum.)
My Photo Booth got deleted by a member of the family... so i was wondering if someone could tell me where I could download it?

    Hello Maaadddyy,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Apple does not offer PhotoBooth as a download. Instead, you can reinstall it from your Software Install Disk that came with your Mac or from your Backup files.
If you use the Software Install disk, select reinstall "Applications." (You will not need to reinstall the System Software, too, unless part of that software was also deleted.) You can reinstall all applications software or only those that you know have been deleted. If you have trouble selecting specific applications, see the Install Disk's "Help" files.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • I deleted my photo booth by mistake how can i get it back

i deleted my photo booth app on my mac and wanted to know how can i get it back

Do you have a backup you can try to restore from? If not, you will need to reinstall the OS.
Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors.  Then re-install the OS.

I by accident deleted my video off of photo booth and i need to retrieve it this just happened

You can open your Trash, sort by date so the most current date is at the top. Click on the Movie, then under File, click on "Quick Look Movie...."
Once it is open, you can click on the Share button and email it to yourself.

i deleted my photo booth how can i get it back?

OK, here are some step by step instructions:
    1. Open a Finder window.
    2. In the Finder window on the left side you will see a folder that says Applications. Click the folder.
    3. Click the Time Machine icon in your Dock and wait for Time Machine to open.
    4. On the right side of TM  you will see a time line, click a date that you know the Application was still there and wait for TM to go to that date. You will see the date in the bottom center.
    5. While in the Applications folder scroll down until you find Photo Booth and then click Restore in the bottom right.
At that point Photo Booth should be restored and working. If it isn't then make an appointment at  your local Apple Store and take the machine in. They will help you restore the application. If you don't have an Apple Store in your area contact an AASP or call Apple Care for some help.

  • I have recently updated my macs software then been onto Photo Booth and realised that all of my pictures/videos have been deleted and are not in iPhoto? Im not sure where they have all gone?

    PLEASE HELP
I have recently updated my macs software then been onto Photo Booth and realised that all of my pictures/videos have been deleted and are not in iPhoto? Im not sure where they have all gone?

Photobooth and iPhoto are two quite different apps with no connection between them. I'd try the Using Mac OS X forum for whatever version of the OS you have.

  • I deleted my photo booth on accident how do I get it back

I deleted my photo booth and cant find it online anywhere to reinstall and lost my software that came with my laptop can someone help please!!

Did you remove the actual application from the Applications folder or did you possibly just take it out of the Dock?
The latter is easy to fix. Open a Finder window and go to the Applications folder. In it, Find PhotoBooth. Drag the icon into your dock.
    Best of luck.

  • I somehow deleted my iphoto & photo booth, how do i recover them

i have deleted somehow, i don't know, my iphoto and photo booth, is there anyway to recover this?

if your mac came with OS X 10.6 or prior, insert grey disk 2 which contains the applications.

  • Accidentally deleted photo booth (and other preinstalled apps) on ipad

I think my little one deleted FaceTime, Photo Booth, Camera, and a couple other apps on our new iPad. How can I get them back?

I'm puzzled why Time Machine didn't work.  You can open the Photo Booth app from the applications folder in Time Machine ( it took a long time for the folder to start operating, but after about a minute wait the applications folder worked just like the on on the current desktop) from your last good system.  You don't have to completely restore the whole system.  Just open the app in the Time Machine folder, and you should be good to go.  I accidentally deleted Photo Booth yesterday, and restored it today by opening the app from Time Machine of a few days ago.

  • Photo booth - restore accidentally deleted photos

i somehow accidentally deleted all of my photo booth photos. i attempted to restore them using suggestions on forums but nothing worked. i eventually thought i found some solution when i right clicked on 'photo booth library' in my pictures folder and opened 'show package contents' i then dragged all of my photos that i'd recovered from the trash into the 'pictures' folder where photos i had just now taken on photo booth were - opened photo booth and my old photos still weren't there.
can anyone help me with this issue?

Did you use Sherlock to search?
Did you check your Applications folder?
If yes to the above then you can custom install Photo Booth from DVD #1 that originally came w/your computer. Photo Booth should be inside the *Bundled Software* folder. If not there, check the Applications folder.
If you still cannot locate PB on the DVD you will need to use Pacifist
    Pacifist Usage Instructions
Also see Kappy’s detailed How to Use Pacifist to Replace Deleted or Missing OS X Components instructions.

  • I deleted photo booth off my Mac. It is not in the application folder, and I do not have an installer CD. Is there anything I can do?

About a year ago I deleted Photo Booth. I somehow found a link to get it back, and it worked perfectly, but when I quit Photo Booth, I lost it. I could never find the link since. I have been looking for something despretly, but I have only found answers that have said "use your install CD". I got my Mac pre-used so I did not get it with any CD. Hence, my problem. I need someone to help. Maybe post another link or something?

check your purchase tab in the app store. if it does not show up there than you will have to buy it unless there is a backup available from a disc or time machine . hope this helps.

  • How do I delete Photo Booth

How do I delete the Photobooth app in Ipad Air?
Its a "built-in" app ... but so is Garage Band, and Ive deleted it okay.
    Thanks

You did not read the fine print at the bottom of the page so here it is. It is not a preinstalled app. You cannot delete Photo Booth. I'm sorry.
GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013. See www.apple.ca/ios/whats-new/ for iOS 7 compatible devices. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.
