Photo Booth issue

Video on Photo Booth did not record. Any hope of recovering?

No. If it didn't record there is nothing to recover.

  • Mavericks, Photo Booth issues -- photos out of order

I recently updated to Mavericks, and since then all of my photos have been out of order in Photo Booth. I have been able to reorganise them according to date created in the root folder, but not in Photo Booth itself.
    Any ideas?

Same issue here as well. Photobooth is sorting by file name. New images created have a long file name includng the date and time. Earlier photos are named photo1.jpg...Anybody know a good file re-namer?

  • Photo Booth issues ie - Effects

I have owned my iMac since December and had no problems until I took the last version of Leopard V10.5.2 One issue I have is with Photo Booth. It pertains to the effect section, which is the third option after clicking the effect button. I click on one of the background effects, move out of the way like it says and when I move back into the camera view, I can see myself, the background effect and black spots, which happens to be what is behind me. I move around and the black or what I call black holes, they move with me. it is like, this function does not work at all, when it once did. I hardly use photo booth, but I paid a lot of money for a product that is only a few months old, I just want it to work. Could someone offer some help or point me in the right direction? Thanks

If your only problem is with Photo Booth (or the Photo Booth effects in iChat), consider the suggestions in these help articles:

If you have also notice other problems since applying the 10.5.2 update, post back and let us know whether you have installed Time Capsule and the software that came with it.
We can offer other suggestions if necessary based on the info in your response.

  • Photo Booth issue with Snow Leopard

I have upgraded to snow leopard and now my Photo Booth application will not work....seems I now have the wrong version (or old version)...Does anyone know how i can get an updated version of photo booth? I have looked in the apple store but cannot find anything there. Thanks....

I've had a very similar problem. I'm also using Snow Leopard. When I try to employ any special effects in Photo Booth, I can click on the "shutter" button, it will snap the picture, but then it freezes for a minute, and then closes the program and come up with a dialogue box that says "Photo Booth Quit Unexpectedly". It doesn't save the picture either. I tried some of the fixes mentioned, like deleting the preferences file and repairing permissions, and also creating a admin test account to see if the problem duplicates itself there too (which it does) - so it looks like something is in the OS, and not related just to my particular user account. I also trid "AppDelete" to get rid of the program altogether and then reinstalled Snow Leopard - to no avail. Perhaps this will be fixed with another subsequent software update...hopefully.

  • Photo Booth issue with isight

    Hi:
I'm running OS X (10.4.11) on my personal MacBook Pro. When I open Photo Booth, I just get a black screen but I'm not able to take any pictures/videos. The iSight in not turning on (all options are grayed out). However the cam does work when I use iChat or Skype video chat. That eliminates the hardware factor.
I have followed some of the suggestions here, such as creating a new user, deleting some of the .plist files, repair permissions, etc.; but still no success.
Are there any other suggestions to fix this problem and get Photo Booth back to work??
    Thanks
    Marcos

    Hello Eric,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It is not likely that anyone has tested Photo Booth on an older Mac equiped with an iSight, but as soon as someone does, I am sure you will read about it here.
As explained in the "The Apple PhotoBooth, how do you get it?" thread, Photo Booth is only available bundled with
    b NEW
    iMacs.

  • I recently upgraded to Yosemite on MacBook Pro - unable to open iPhoto and Photo Booth

I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on my MacBook Pro (bought in 2011).  Since the Yosemite upgrade, I have been unable to open both iPhoto and Photo Booth at all.  I have lots of photos and need to access them. Both icons of iPhoto and Photo Booth have a circle with a bar across them, in my dock.
When I click on iPhoto I get the message " In order to open “iPhoto”, you need to update to the latest version. The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store".  I have tried upgrading iPhoto on the App store but get an error message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store" .
Since I cannot even view my photos, I cannot store them elsewhere.  Please, can someone help me resolve this problem!!!
For Photo Booth, when I click on it, it says "You can’t use this version of the application “Photo Booth” with this version of OS X. You have Photo Booth 3.0.3" - gives me no option to upgrade at all.
Would appreciate help for both iPhoto and Photo Booth issues described above, with iPhoto being the most pressing concern. Thank You.

The new app is called Photos. It's icon was added to the Dock. Both, Photos and iPhoto, are located in your Applications folder.
If you need to upgrade iPhoto, follow these instructions prepared by Barney-15E: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-8431

  • How do I delete old Photo Booth effects?

I'm using a late 2011 MacBook Pro with Mavericks installed, I haven't used photobooth in a long time but upon recently opening it I decided that I wanted to delete the old third-party effects that I have installed as it sometimes slowed the application down. I tried my usual approach and went to the Library > Compositions but found nothing in there to delete. If anyone can help me out that would be great!

  • Photo Booth Pop Art Issues

Having problems with pop art on photo booth. All software is current versions, but not sure when it wet funny.
Usually pop art setting gives you the four coloured screens, I currently get one red section with an image with the other 3 screens yellow.
Any idea what is causing this and a solution?

It "went funny" (e.g. broke) with the "upgrade" to 10.4.7.
    See the current discussion here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=546060&tstart=0
I have personally experienced an number of bad issues with 10.4.7, mostly related to sleep issues. I have gone back to 10.4.6 and all my issues (including loss of pop art) are corrected.
Hope that helps! If so, please mark message as helpfull or solved so others may benefit as well.

  • Issue with Apple Camera VendorID_0x106B ProductID_0x1570 green light blinks continually...camera does not work in photo booth or face time

Green light blinks continually...camera does not work in photo booth or face time.Any suggestions?

    Hi Rogerya,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with the built-in FaceTime camera (also known as iSight) on your MacBook Air. The following resource provides relevant troubleshooting information that you can try:
How to Troubleshoot iSight - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2090
Important: Follow these instructions in order. Test the camera between steps to see if the issue is resolved.
    Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
    1. See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
    2. See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
    3. Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
    4. Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)
If your built-in iSight camera is still not behaving correctly after trying all these steps, you may need to contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • HELP-Photo Booth error/issue

I have a 2011 macbook pro. I haven't used photobooth since I updated to mavericks. Now, I keep getting the following error message whenever I open the app and try to take a picture:
I followed the steps from an earlier post (  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2300430 ) and that wasn't the issue, I have the right account priviledges (I'm the only user).
    Please help

Ok. For those who are having trouble when disk permissions and deleting plist files don't work....
My husband figured out that my problem was with the Photo Booth Library because my permissions were set to read-only (I could have sworn I looked for that photo booth library folder in my Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Pictures folder but couldn't find it).
However, changing my permissions to read-write didn't work either.  (Running repair permissions didn't seem to help either before this change or after it.)
Manually changing permissions did solve part of my problem -- it did allow me to delete old photos but still wouldn't allow me to take new ones.  We also tried setting all the users (Staff and everyone) to read-write, but that didn't help.
My husband changed the name of the library to something else (just appended 'copy' on the end) and reopened photo booth.  Then it asked if I wanted to create a new library because the old one could not be found.  The new library now allows us to use Photo Booth normally.  However we will have to merge the one movie I wanted to save from the old copy of the library, into the new one.  Hopefully that won't recreate the problem.

  • Issue with uploading files from photo booth

Whenever I want to upload a photo booth picture from my computer, I hit upload and go to the photo booth section of the window that pops up. However, the photo previews displayed only show my first fifty or so photos (I have over 400 in there), and I have to click in and out of the photo booth folder until it shows all of my photos to choose from. Does anybody else have this problem/know how to fix it?

I think your question should go in the Bridge forum,

  • Serious Lag issues with Photo Booth and iChat

Ever since I installed Leopard on my mac book pro, I have had terrible lag problems with the movie option in Photo Booth (sometimes even freezing my computer) as well as the video chat in ichat. With Tiger, lag was never a problem when I was on ichat. I have the 1.83 GHz Intel core duo, so I'm surprised this is happening. Any ideas would be very helpful! Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, Hoosier2010
As you correctly note, the iSight Updater 1.0.3 applies ONLY to Macs with iSight video camera that used OS X v10.3.7-10.3.9. All MacBook Pros came with a later version of Mac OS, and, therefore, cannot use the 1.0.3 Firmware update. That Firmware update is NOT your MacBook Pro's problem.
If your iSight problems began immediately after your MacBook Pro's drive was replaced, I would suspect a hardware problem left uncorrected during the service call. Contact the people who did the work and ask them to correct the problem that began at the time of hard drive replacement.
If the previous service work did not cause your problem, try Apple's suggestions for How to Troubleshoot iSight. If none of the suggestions that you can do to your Mac resolve the trouble, your problem likely is hardware. Hardware problems will require help from your Apple-Authorized Service Provider.
