Photo Booth: Photos Missing

Is there a way to get photos back into photobooth? It seems that all my photos I took with it are no longer viewable on it, and are now just jpegs. I know its kinda picky but I liked having them all in there. I know there is a recent.plist which seems to have all the new photos on it that are in photobooth, but I really dont want to have to type in all 158 modifiers for all the photos. Thanks!

It sent - HTF did that happen…?! It's also only listing my old Touch which I no longer own. Y'see, this is the main reason I don't don't fora, they confuse the feck outta me, that and they have people in 'em; actual hominids of the species Homo sapiens sapiens with whom I'm forced to interact.
Sorry, about that  I'm sure you can fathom out what the header's supposed to read. Why in the name of all that is sentient, won't Apple allow edits…?!  Now it's made me reply to me own post, and I'm thought of as crazy enough round these parts!
You'll get your just desserts, Apple, one day it'lol all go pear-shaped and your empire will crumble…
You'll be pleased to know I'm now out of puns de pomme.

I no longer have an effects choice with my photo booth. I used to. I suspect my 3-year-old somehow deleted it. How can I get it back?

  • Photo Booth Effect Missing

Hi, the Pop Art effect in my Photo Booth doesn't show as it should.
Instead of being the screen divided in four different quarters with different colours, there is just one quarter and the rest is plain yellow
    should I reinstall it?

Did you guys have the same problem with software update after installing this app? I took me a while to work out what the Russian installer put to confuse my Mac. Anyway, to delete the file, you need to access the Terminal application. It is in the Utilities folder which is within the Applications folder. The Terminal application allows you to directly access the file system of Mac OS X via Unix commands.
Once you are in terminal, type "cd /private/var/db/" (without the quotation marks)
That will put you into the correct directory where the offending file is. The file is a dot file (ie ".AppleTier3Language") so you can't see it in the directory (even if you type "ls" (list directory)).
    Now type "rm /private/var/db/.AppleTier3Language"
That should delete the file. If it doesn't allow you, check that you have administrator priviliges from the System Preferences. You may also need the Root superuser account activated as well. If you have problems, post back to this thread.
    I hope this helps.

  • Photo Booth sound missing?

I've noticed that sometimes sound does not record in Photo Booth, despite hearing my voice speaking while recording a movie. This seems to happen randomly. Is there anything I can do to insure it with record sound all the time?
Recording 7 mins then finding no sound is very frustrating, especially trying to recreate it...

yes, I made sure that was correct.
I think the problem may be caused by a conflict with iMovie or another app. It seems when I record with only Photo Booth open, it does not happen. More experimentation is needed.

  • Photo Booth photos look big but are only 66K?

I took a picture using the photo booth and when I open it, it looks big and clear. But when I try to upload it, or get any info from it, it's so small and it says that it says 66 kb. What's going on?

Some uploaders actually analyze the meta tags for the "reported" resolution of the image file. Even if the GUI (what you see on screen) shows it properly, some systems do not.
Some document imaging systems actually include overrides to get around this type of behavior, but usually it means the app you used to process/import the image did not export properly.

  • Photo Booth Photos

When I try to add photos that I have taken on Photo Booth to facebook, they do not show up when I go to photobooth (on the left when in pictures) when in the upload screen. They are in the slideshow when I have Photo Booth up though.

It shows some of the older photos I have taken in the upload box but not the new ones. How do I get it so I can veiw them to upload them?

  • Photo Booth photos not saving automatically to photo roll on iPad

Ipad2.  Since update to iOS 8, the pix I take in Photo Booth do not automatically save in "my photos", so i cannot use those photobooth pix within other apps.  How can I fix this?
    Thanks.

    Greetings dunaitis,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error when taking photos. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • How to change the size of a photo booth photo

please help me with this. I am trying to change it for a picture frame thats 640x640, so please help me. I need help to change it on PHOTO BOOTH. Thank you if you help.

Photo Booth is only designed to take images. You need to use another program if you want to crop, resize or edit images etc.
Do you have iPhoto installed? You can drag images into that application & use that to crop & export images fixed to a specific size. It has custom sizes that can be set in the export dialog.
Have you checked the manual for the photo frame? Many will simply show larger images scaled to fit the screen resolution it may be pointless resizing them?
Automator also has actions that can scale images, it can be a quick way to bath process a lot of images.
There are many simple Automator examples around…

  • Photo Booth photo delay time?

Is there a Setting or Preference by which you can set the delay timer before a photo is taken in Photo Booth?
3 seconds isn't really long enough to stage a photo if you're also IN the photo. Is there a way to edit that setting, or, alternately, to program the application to take many photos in a row until it's told otherwise?
    Thanks in advance, Mac wizards!

    Welcome to Discussions, -Luke
I agree with Ralph. You can enable or disable the 3 second countdown in Photo Booth, but you cannot otherwise adjust it. Photo Booth, a rather basic app that allows few adjustments, won't do what you want. Moreover, Photo Booth is not scriptable, so you cannot control it with AppleScript.
If you cannot find some application other than Photo Booth that will do what you want, you may be able to use Apple Script &/or Automator with a different application (QuickTime Pro, iChat, etc.) to do something like what you want.
You may be able to use Automator's "Take Picture" or "Take Video Snapshot" process to automate a workflow that will meet your needs.
If not, and if the help file linked here does not give you some ideas, check out the two threads listed below to see if they might give you an idea for a starting point.

  • Photo booth - restore accidentally deleted photos

i somehow accidentally deleted all of my photo booth photos. i attempted to restore them using suggestions on forums but nothing worked. i eventually thought i found some solution when i right clicked on 'photo booth library' in my pictures folder and opened 'show package contents' i then dragged all of my photos that i'd recovered from the trash into the 'pictures' folder where photos i had just now taken on photo booth were - opened photo booth and my old photos still weren't there.
can anyone help me with this issue?

Did you use Sherlock to search?
Did you check your Applications folder?
If yes to the above then you can custom install Photo Booth from DVD #1 that originally came w/your computer. Photo Booth should be inside the *Bundled Software* folder. If not there, check the Applications folder.
If you still cannot locate PB on the DVD you will need to use Pacifist

  • Moving iPhoto, Photo Booth, & iMovie library to an external drive

I've search through most of the support community and still havent found a concrete answer. Like most my current internal harddrive is about full. Mostly filled with photos and movies. I have a external harddrive that Time Machine is enabled. I also backed u my iphoto & photo booth library to the external drive. I have yet to move over any imovie data until I am sure that process will work.
How do I move all data over so that iphoto, photo booth, & imovie can be ran fom my external harddrive. Also how can I ensure that imovie will direct itself to the iphoto library on my external because all movies from the past use the iphoto library as its directory. Once this is done I would like to delete all previous data off of my nternal drive
    Thank you

. I have a external harddrive that Time Machine is enabled. I also backed u my iphoto & photo booth library to the external drive. I have yet to move over any imovie data until I am sure that process will work.
Do you want to store your movies and photos on your Time Machine drive? That is not recommended, since you will not have a backup, if the media are only on your backup volume. You will need a second drive in addition to your backup drive, and this drive needs to be formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled), otherwise you cannot store photo libraries (iPhoto, Aperture) or iMovie events on that drive, see:  Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture (remember, thta formatting erases a drive, you have to save any contents to another drive before formatting).
For iPhoto:  Once your external drive has the correct file system, simply select your iPhoto library in the Finder and drag it to that drive. Then double click the copied library to open it in iPhoto.
For iMovie: To move your iMovie events to an external drive, use the event browser in iMovie - don't use the Finder!
See this Help page:  Copy or move video from your Event Library to an external ... http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2302
I don't use Photo Booth, so I do not know how to move your Photo Booth photos.

  • Photo Booth - Where To Store Your Photos?

    Hi,
Can someone please explain, are you supposed to store your Photo Booth pictures actually within the Application, or are you eventually supposed to import them into iPhoto or drag them into the Finder? Is there a benefit to keeping your Photo Booth photos within Photo Booth, or are you best off just storing them in a regular folder in the Finder?

Photo Booth doesn't store your saved pictures in the application, it stores them in a Photo Booth folder inside your user's "Pictures" folder. This is where Photo Booth looks for them. If someone else logs in, Photo Booth looks in their "Pictures" folder for their own pictures. So, technically, they are in a folder in the Finder already. It's up to you if you leave them there or move them somewhere else. If you want to include them or use them in an iPhoto, you can certainly do that.

  • When I click on Photo Booth library it opens up the application instead of accessing my photo library

I can only access my photo library by revealing the Photo Booth photos in the finder. When I click on Photo Booth library in the finder it opens up the application Photo Booth instead of my actual library.  It is possible that I deleted something last night I can't be sure. When I access the library by revealing in finder,  I checked the path it gives me and it seems correct  hd/user/pictures/photoboothlibrary/pictures.  Can I fix this so that I can access my Photo Booth library directly through the finder?

  • Can't take photo booth picture

On my iMac using OS 10.7.4 I'm not able to take a PHOTO BOOTH photo. The image does show on the monitor, but making the single shot selection and clicking the camera does not take a photo. Do have a a camera problem or have not invoked the proper settings?

The suggestions in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93240 may help you.
If not, try downloading and reapplying the 10.5.1 Update. Repair permissions before and after running the Updater.
If you are still having problems, have you considered the "Important: Read before installing" section of About the Mac OS X 10.5.1 Update and ruled out the possible problems mentioned there?

  • Photo Booth is unable to save picture!

    Hello!
Photo Booth was functionning for a year without any problem, but now I get the following error message:
""There was a problem saving the photo file /Users/claire/Pictures/Photo Booth/Photo 1.jpg. This photo cannot be saved.""
I cleared all the images from the Photo Booth library, memory space should not be the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Ok
The next thing I'd try is another media card
And after that, a device wipe and OS reload using BBSAK.
You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
