    - Exactly what are you doing? You saying you are trying to syn it to new comnputer. When yuo sync it to a new computer iTunes will erase the iPod and replace its contents with what is i the iTunes library of the new computer.

I have several thousand photos in several folders. I have noticed that whenever I want to change the folder used as the side show source, it takes the Screen Saver Preference pane a very long time to respond. It is as if it is scanning all the photos in the currently assigned folder in order to display them in the preview window provided, and it gets so dogged down doing that it can't respond to my clicks on the Choose Folder option.
Assuming you don't want to redistribute your photos into a greater number of folders or subfolders so there would be fewer in each folder to process, you could try a workaround. Try moving your currently-assigned folder to your desktop temporarily, before opening the Screen Saver preference pane. If the preference pane can't find the old folder, it may immediately ask you to choose a new one. You could hopefully then do so, close the preference pane, and then put back the old folder.
It's my understanding that there will be no future updates to Tiger, only security fixes.

  • Photo Booth Help! My photo booth screen is very very dark. I thought it was the screen but its at the brightest it can possibly be! So I grabbed my mothers MacBook Pro and It's much lighter and more clear. I have just the regular macbook. Please Help.

My photo booth screen is very very dark. I thought it was the screen but its at the brightest it can possibly be! So I grabbed my mothers MacBook Pro and It's much lighter and more clear. I have just the regular macbook. I also used the my camera on tumblr and it came up like my mothers. So could it just be photo booth? I also have no idea how to find out which operating system is downloaded. This is preowned.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • Photo Booth has a black screen!!

Every time i go onto my Photo Booth it just comes up with a black screen and the clock constantly. I've tried restarting my computer etc. but it does nothing. I was thinking of taking it in to be fixed however I realised that my Face Time, Skype etc. still work as well??? Help!!!!

    Howdy livmp,
It sounds like you are trying to use PhotoBoot on your computer but the camera doesn't seem to be showing anything at all. I'd recommend you reset your SMC, then your PRAM in that order with these articles and then test it out again:
Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
    and
OS X Yosemite: Reset your computer’s PRAM
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Welcome to Discussions, Stanley Chung
Sorry you are still having problems even after trying the good suggestions from Ralph and Boomer.
I did not see specifically from your posts that your iSight worked before upgrading to Snow Leopard, but I am inferring from your topic's title that it did. If your iMac came with Snow Leopard installed, please post and tell us whether you erased the disk and reinstalled all your iMac's software before you started using it. If you upgraded your iMac to Snow Leopard, consider the following.
    (1) Until you get iSight working, do all your testing while no peripherals other than keyboard/mouse are attached to your iMac. To eliminate all possibility of any conflict external to your Mac, be sure you also disconnect any wireless devices (iPod, printer, etc) connected to your system.
    (2) If you still have problems with all you have tried, it seems to me that you must have a software issue. You might try uninstalling Skype and VMWare and testing again to see if those installations are causing a conflict.
    (3) Check the support sites for all of your third party software to be sure there are no known Snow Leopard issues and that you are using the latest compatible versions.
    (4) If the problem still exists and you have not already tried this, reinstall Snow Leopard, repairing permissions immediately before and after the reinstall.
    (5) If your problem remains and System Profiler still shows your inbuilt iSight as a USB device, I suggest you backup all important files, erase your disk, reinstall all Apple software, and test to see if iSight works properly. Once it does, you can install any necessary peripherals and third-party apps one-at-a-time, testing after each addition to see if one of them is causing problems.

  • Photo Booth Screen Blank, Won't Take Pictures

Every time I open Photo Booth, I get a blank screen with a little movie symbol and a line through it. It won't let me take pictures at all; all I can do is view the ones I've already taken. All I can find in the help section is that if your screen is blank, the digital video camera isn't hooked up. But I have no idea what that means; I've never had to install anything for it to work. I'm so confused.

    HI,
Reinstall the PhotoBooth application from your Mac install disk.
Insert your Mac install disk. Open the Optional Installs folder, then open Optional Installs.mpkg
An Installer will start... click Continue. When you get to the Installation Type in the window on the right you will see: Applications. Click the Disclosure triangle so it faces down. Select the PhotoBooth app then click: Continue.
After all software updates or installations, repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Photo Booth Fade to Black

Started Photo Booth tonight and it flashed up ok for about 2 seconds before starting to fade REALLy fast into blackness.
Restarted photo booth - same thing.
    Restarted iMac - same thing
Checked Forums, which suggested deleting pref file, did that - same thing
Installed new version of Photo Booth - same thing
The only thing i have done different recently is up date to OS X version 10.4.10 (latest release), does any one else have this problem?
Can anyone here help out a really frustrated Mac user?
    ...please!

Well, I have updated to 10.4.10 and then the latest security update after that, and my Photo Booth is still behaving normally, so the problems you are having are not due to 10.4.10 by itself.
Just tried iMovie too and it appears OK.
Here's an update! On the "Using your Intel iMac" forum there is a thread about the same problem. One person fixed his own instance of this by unplugging the Mac for a minute or so (SMC reset, I believe.)

  • Why is my Photo Booth screen green ?

When I turn on photo booth, the screen is green. When I take a picture, it remains green. Can anyone help me with this ?

    Hello TOM251
A search of iSight Discussions for "green" (without the quotation marks) returns several topics on your problem.
Here are some suggestions that worked for several other iNtel Mac users:
First, check the settings mentioned in Apple iMac G5 (iSight): Built-in iSight ... blue or green pictures.
You can also try Apple's suggestions re: Built-in iSight from How to Troubleshoot iSight.
If the reset and other Troubleshooting suggestions do not correct your problem, you can try the following:- Backup your Home Folder, or at very least, your important files.
    - Repair permissions.
    - Then download and apply the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update (iNtel).
    - Finish with another Permissions Repair, and then check your iSight again. Please let us know if one of these helps.

  • Migrate from iMac G5 w/Leopard to iMac (Intel) w/Tiger

I'm giving my daughter my 2007 iMac Intel.  It came with Tiger and the upgrade dvd to Leopard, and I have since upgraded it to Lion.
Her iMac G5 (PPC) is running Leopard.
I erased the 2007 iMac so she would have a clean install from the backup of her G5.  However, I don't know how I can upgrade the Intel back to at least Leopard so I can migrate her data and they would both have the same OS for the transfer.  Can you transfer data from Leopard down to Tiger?  It doesn't seem like that would be a good idea.
Can I just make a dummy account to do the Leopard upgrade and delete it later?  Will that affect the migration of her stuff, home folder, user name?
    Thanks, Sandy

Well, Lion is not on either machine at the moment, if that matters.  The G5 is Leopard and the Intel is Tiger (I've got the upgrade dvd for Leopard).
The G5 has the floating FW symbol on the screen.
They are connected with a FW 400/800 cable.  The cable works as I used it to do a back up to SuperDuper! last night.
On the new Intel, it did not take me to the Time Machine option as that isn't part of Tiger 10.4.  That was my main concern, how could I could install the upgrade to Leopard DVD without making a user account.  I thought once I made a user account I would not be able to migrate correctly from the G5 or a Time Machine backup.
It only got me about 4 steps in...pick the language, options to transfer from another computer (from another partition or do nothing), attach FW and restart in target mode, and then the screen where it tells you it's looking for the target drive it may take 30 seconds or more.  That's where the message came into play.
I'm wondering if I just set the new Intel up with her same user name/home folder, upgrade with the dvd to Leopard and then somehow try to do an erase and install with the Time Machine backup or the SuperSuper backup.
She's in high school and doesn't have a lot on the current machine, maybe 90 GB used.  I think I can easily move folders she's made for school papers and stuff.  We share iTunes on my mac, so hers is not sync'd to, so nothing lost there. The biggest thing would be bookmarks and the iPhoto library (approx 2K pics).
