Photo Booth Sound Recording is Pitched up toooo high...

Can anyone help me figure out why the pitch of my Voice is too high when playing back Photo Booth Videos? It just started doing it about a week ago.
It does it using my External Mic or while using the internal mic as well.
Thank you for your time,
benvoice

Unless you can talk in a lower pitch while you record, I have no suggestions.
Your iMac's built-in iSight has no microphone, so there is nothing iSight related that will help.
If you don't get the answer you need here, searching or posting in this iMac forum may help:

  • Squeal noise with photo booth video recording.

I use my iSight and Photo booth to record video for YouTube. Every time I get finished recording and go to play the video back, there is a hum/squeal/high pitched noise along with the audio.
    Anyone know what's up??

    Hello Tony.
Does recording with iMovie and plenty of light give you the same noises you hear when you record using Photo Booth? If so, this thread may give you some help: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1944573
The original poster of this thread says that recording video in bright light eliminates his noise. Apple are aware of that issue, and your problem may be another symptom of the same problem. However, this explanation does not fix your problem. It only lets you know that you are not alone. Here follow some suggestions that may help you correct your problem if the problem is common to both your iMovie and your Photo Booth.
If you recently bought your MacBook, take it back to your retailer and see if he can correct the problem or give you a replacement MacBook that does not have the same problem. As pointed out in the thread I linked above, user obsidianspider was able to trade his new, noisy, MacBook for one with an acceptably low noise level by immediately bringing his specific problem to the attention of the manager of his Apple retailer. For specifics, see http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5761948#5761948
If you cannot fix your Photo Booth problem, and if iMovie does not share the same problem, using iMovie would seem to be the simplest solution. However, if you specifically want video effects in the videos you make for YouTube and you cannot get Photo Booth fixed, try a demo of http://www.tweakersoft.com/webcamtweaker.html to see whether it will work for you.

  • ISight - Photo Booth stops recording silently when recording video.

    Hello,
I often use iSight and Photo Booth to record videos, and I've observed this error happens all the times:
For example I record a 5 minutes video, (I stop Photo Booth at the time 5:00), but then when I look again at the file, it's less than 5 minutes. This happens 8 out of 10 times of recording, and it stops silently at a random time, means photo booth does not return to the waiting mode until I press the stop button.
Does anyone have this problem? Please help. Thanks in advance.

I must agree I am having a very similar problem myself. In my case, for example, I use photobooth to record videos requiring audio and video (acoustic guitar) and I will record one video which will be fine with audio, but randomly, the next video I record will not have any audio whatsoever, just a video of me playing my guitar. I'm sure other people with this problem know how frustrating it is, especially since I just tried to record an instrumental piece about 13 minutes only to find that photobooth randomly decided not to record audio this time....is there any solution for this?

  • Photo booth only records partial Video no matter how long it is...Help!!

ok so i wanted to make a funny video to send to my friend. I turned on Photo booth, chose the video option, and hit record. I proceeded to completely embarrass myself on camera for about 5 mins, and i clicked stop. When it stopped, only like the 1st 18 secs were recorded. I thought maybe i clicked stop on accident, so i tried it again, and it was the same problem.. is anyone else having this problem? if so is there a solution for it? please help...thanks

is anyone else having this problem?
I have not seen any specific post of exactly your problem, but a few users have posted questions about how long Photo Booth can record, so they might be asking about a similar issue.
For instance, a search of iSight discussions about known Photo Booth recording time limit:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1450644&tstart=50
if so is there a solution for it?
For a solution, consider the same suggestions I offered in the topic linked above:
    (1) Be sure you are keeping Photo Booth (PB) as the foreground app; i.e., you can always see "Photo Booth" by the  in the upper left corner of your display. Don't click on the desktop or any other open window while recording. Recording stops on my Mac if PB is not the active app.
    (2) Other things that might be contributing to your problem:
    • Don't let your Mac go to sleep or allow its screen saver to work while you are recording.
    • Check and, if necessary, modify settings of background apps that might be interrupting your Mac during your PB movie recording. Examples would include Mail checking for new email, iCal executing an alarm, your Software Update... performing its scheduled check for software updates.
I do not know that one of those might be your problem, but if you can find no other cause, and if you must record long clips with PB, consider any of those ideas you think they might have an impact.
    (3) Also consider these suggestions If your Macbook runs slowly or exhibits any other problems in addition to your PB issue.
    (4) If all else fails, you might try iMovie to see if it works better for recording longer movie clips on your Macbook. While not a one-click app like PB, iMovie HD can add Video FX (Effects) after you have recorded your clip. If you cannot get PB working, iMovie might be worth considering as an alternative.
    (5) If you would rather not use iMovie, perhaps a PB clone application like WebcamTweaker or Freak Show will work for what you want.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Photo Booth sound missing?

I've noticed that sometimes sound does not record in Photo Booth, despite hearing my voice speaking while recording a movie. This seems to happen randomly. Is there anything I can do to insure it with record sound all the time?
Recording 7 mins then finding no sound is very frustrating, especially trying to recreate it...

yes, I made sure that was correct.
I think the problem may be caused by a conflict with iMovie or another app. It seems when I record with only Photo Booth open, it does not happen. More experimentation is needed.

  • Photo booth video recording not working

I was recording a video with photo booth and while it was recording it was showing that the record button was on and that it was recording. But when i went to view it had only recorded 30 seconds of it. I didnt change the screen or touch the computer. Someone help please.
oh and right before it had been working fine...

    HI,
    Try deleting this file.
    com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences.
Move that fileo to the Trash and restart your Mac.

  • Why does photo booth stop recording video randomly

Im trying to record short videos using photobooth about 3 mins long.  but when i record.  more than half the time  it will say that it is recording the whole thing
but when i stop the recording, only about fraction of what i wanted will be there.
Ex. i just recorded about 3m 30sec of video...and when i stopped it....only 32 seconds of video was recorded.....
    Why is this happening?

  • If I close photo booth while recording a video, is it possible to recover the video?

  • Photo Booth Video Recording

I am a teacher who used PhotoBooth to create portfolios with my students.  In SL, we were able to use a picture of the student's paper as a background effect while the student spoke about it while PhotoBooth recorded.  Now with the upgrade to Lion, the effect background is there before recording, but disapears when PhotoBooth starts to record.  Is there a glitch???  Am I doing something wrong or can this be fixed soon!  I'd hate to have boaring videos for the portfolios.

Mountain Lion upgrade fixed the problem.

  • Re: Photo Booth with sound?

    Hey:
This is weird. Why would you be able to record video in PB2, without accompanying audio? Am I missing something? I tried it and you are correct, I could not find any solution to recording audio and video concurrently. Does that mean, fur sure, that it's imovie or nada??
    Kinda weird,
    FFF

    Hello FFF
If your published System Info correctly shows that you are using MBP 2.33 2G" Mac OS X  10.4.8, you must have the original Photo Booth. I don't recall that the original Photo Booth could record either video or audio, so your problem may be as simple as that.
I know of no way to buy Photo Booth 2 other than buying Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or a new Mac that comes with Leopard. If you do not want to upgrade to Leopard, you can record video with audio using QT Pro, iMovie, or other apps, but they do not offer the one-click "effect" of Photo Booth 2.
If your MBP came with Leopard but you have downgraded it to Tiger, consider reinstalling Leopard if you need to use Photo Booth 2.

  • Canon 5D MkII not detecting in iMovie and Photo Booth

    Background:
Until a few weeks ago we were using a Panasonic N28 Camcorder to take photos via Photo Booth and record videos via Image Capture. We had it connected using Firewire and maybe we also had USB too and it was able to shoot videos via iMovie'11 too. We now replaced this model with a Canon 5D MkII.
    Issue:
Our Canon 5D MkII replaced our camcorder and it's connected via usb to our MAC running Mountain Lion and iMovie'11 with the latest update, yet it is not recognised by iMovie & Photobooth. It it unable to be selected and used instead of the iSight camera. It works fine in Image Capture so there is no hardware issues with the Canon 5D MkII. I can import recorded movies into iMovie'11 also.
What is the issue? Is there anything I need to download from Apple? Can my Canon 5D MkII be used in place of my Apple iSight camera?
    Please help if you can.

I guess that may be a valid point, the Panasonic N28 Camcorder was of relatively low grade certainly not HD.
So if I want a better camera to use in place of the isight camera, am I best off going with a webcam?
My Panasonic was had a screw mount so I put a very wide lense on it. i also was able to vary the depth of field and achieve really good results. This is why I wanted the 5D to be used, and need an alternative.

  • Photo booth; how do I make a video?

It was my understanding that with a macbook you could use photo booth to take videos, not just pictures. I am SO frustrated. How do I do this?

    nicoleaa,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Open Photo Booth. When the window opens, you will see three icons near the bottom of the window on the left side. Click on the one that looks like a clipping from an old film reel. Then click on the red "Record Movie" button, or select Photo Booth>File>Record Movie.
    ;~)

  • As im recording videos on Photo Booth, my movements seem late. then when i play back the video, the sound comes in really late. how do i fix this?

theres like a 5 second delay from when i say something to when the sound of my voice actually comes in when i play back movies in photobooth.i tried restarting my computer and even turning on *auto flip new items. when i turn that on the problem is fixed for only one video. when i try to record the next one its back to the delay. is there anyway to trouble shoot this? or do i have to take my mac to the apple store. to top it all off ive only had my computer for 5 days. help please !!!!

I had the same problem since my moutain lion update, too.
I fixed it in the following way.
-Search for utilities on the HELP option on the top taskbar
    - Go to utilities and open your audio-midi-setup.
    - check your input and output properties
    - Change input and output 44100khz and 16-BIT for both.(these are the most common properties)
my sound and video are not ouf sync in photo booth anymore.
let me know if it works for you!
    cheers
