Photo Booth window disappeared

Thought this would be the best place to ask this, but my Photo Booth window will not load up.
Is there a preference plist I can delete, or a way to reset the app?

HI David,
Try deleting this file. com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
If that doesn't work, you could reinstall the PhotoBooth application.
To reinstall applications that came with your Mac:
Choose Apple menu > Mac OS X Software, and search for the application.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the package that installs bundled software or additional software. A package has an icon that looks like an opened box.
Follow the onscreen instructions. If you see a pane with a Customize button, click Customize and select the application you want to install. If you see a pane that lets you choose what to install, click the disclosure triangle beside Applications and select the application you want to install.
If you can’t find the application you’re looking for, you may need to reinstall Mac OS X. Your documents and user settings will remain.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the Install Mac OS X icon. In the pane where you select the destination disk, select your current Mac OS X disk, and click Options. Select “Archive and Install” and “Preserve Users and Network Settings.”

    photo booth application disappear

    Hello,
Did it disappear just from the Dock maybe? Open the Applications folder & if there drag it to the Dock.
Otherwise, Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • HELP! Closed Photo Booth window while it was recording...

So I was recording video with Photo Booth and I accidently closed the window while it was still recording. But when I open up Photo Booth again the video clip is not in there anymore. I was able to find the file that was generated which was in Home>Pictures>Photo Booth. When I try to open up the file that I found it says Quicktime can't open it. Can anybody help me with this because I really want that clip to work.

You are going to have to re-do the video. Closing a PB window is the same as quiting PB unfortunately.

  • Installing a Google Apps mail account as an Exchange cause Camera FaceTime and Photo Booth to disappear from the Deskotp and are not retrievable. A deletion of the mail account returns the functions immediately

Brand ne iPad 3. Installing a Google Apps mail account as Exchange kills my Camera, Face Time and Photo Booth. They disappear from the Desktop and are nowhere to find or retrieve. Deleting the mail accoun t brings them back immediately. I have already full reset the device and updated the software with no result.
    Is there a solution?

Yep, Meg, you were right and here are the steps which cure the issue. Disable camera is actually a basic Google Apps setting .
Log in to your Google Apps Control Panel.
    Click on your 'Settings' tab.
Under the 'Org Settings' tab locate 'Mobile Settings/Device Settings'
    Enable 'Allow camera'.
    Save changes.
    Re-Install Google Apps E-mail account
    It works perfectly fine now.
Footy, my cat, sends you nice regards as well.

Camera and photo booth is disappeared

These are both native apps that came with the ipad and cannot be deleted.  Check in settings/general/restrictions to make sure they have not been disabled.  Check in folders or on another screen.  If you cannot find them then go to settings/general/reset and reset home screen layout

  • Photo Booth effects disappeared

Just got a new hard drive installed on my MacBook and passed it down to my sister. She launched Photo Booth and some of the effects I had before are missing. I'd never installed additional effects and the same OS is running. Where did they go and how do I get them back?

If you can find it via the spotlight search screen then it's still on there somewhere and it also means that it's not hidden via restrictions. You've checked all your homescreens and app folders for it, and how many homescreens have you got - there is a maximum of 11 after which apps are only accessible via the search screen (though you can use app folders to make more apps 'visible').
You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will re-arrange your apps and might make it easier to find.

  • My photo booth application disappeared!

    Hi
I had my imac for about a year and photo booth has been fine up until recently. I recently tried to open my photo booth and I couldn't find the application! I tried searching for it in spotlight and the application didn't show up. The photos are still there but not the application. What do I do? Is it possible that I accidently deleted the app?
    THANKS!
    Jenny

If Photo Booth isn't located in the Applications folder, reinstall it from your computer's original disks, and then reinstall any applicable Front Row updates. You may need to use Pacifist to extract it.

  • When clicking on another window on photo booth...

When I make a video on photo booth or a recording or whatever and i am doing the video so like i am talking in the video. And say I want to get a song on youtube once I click out of the photo booth window (not meaning x out of photo booth just going to another window) the movie stops.

... once I click ... another window) the movie stops.
That is how Photo Booth works. It only records while it is the "active" window.
    Do you have a question?

  • Photo-booth disappeared on one of our MacBook's accounts.

    Hello
My little sister and i share a MacBook and her photo-booth randomly disappeared while mine is still present. Why did this happen? And can we get her photo-booth back?
    thanks a lot,
    jordan smith

is the photo boot disappeared in her dock or her applications??
you can remove anything from the dock with out the program being deleted.. its just like deleting a shortcut.
So go to your HD, applications... go to photo booth... double click and when it turns on go over to the icon in the dock and click hold then select add to dock...
    Cheers

  • Photo Booth is not saving pictures in the folder

    Hey,
I am facing some issues with my Photo Booth! I am able to take pictures and they drop down to the bottom of the photo booth window, but when i check the folder in ‘'pictures'' its always empty. Before the pictures which were taken got automatically saved in the folder, now nothing happens.
I hope someone can help me out.
    Sofia

    Hello sofia62,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to have the pictures taken in PhotoBooth to show up in Pictures. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
This article says 4.x but these step still work to export in version 7.
Photo Booth 4.x: Export a Photo Booth snapshot or video clip
Click the thumbnail and choose File > Export, or Control-click the thumbnail and choose Export.Specify a filename, select a location for the file, and click Save.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • Photo Booth Not working after reinstalling my OS

A bunch of programs got stolen from me while I was connected to the internet. My whole CS, dreamweaver and photobooth of all apps. So I reinstalled my OS so that photobooth would be back on. Now when I open it its just a blank screen.. like my camera isnt working or something. Not even, there isnt even a black screen. Its just blank. It used to work somewhat when I reinstalled it but all the view modes for the camera looked wacked out. Can anyone help me to fix my photobooth?

  • Can't Find Photo Booth

Hi. I just installed iLife 08 and it seems that Photo Booth has disappeared. Any ideas how I can get it back? I am running 10.4.11.

Hi, haven't found much on this, but I surmise it must be on the Tiger Install Disk from reading this...

If it's not a Custom Install, then get Pacifist to search/extract it...

  • Photo Booth Crashes in Snow Leopard

I tested Photo Booth out for the first time today after my SL upgrade... As I cycle through the effects pages (via the right and left arrows), the program crashes every time (opening up the "Problem Report for Photo Booth" window). I purchased additional Photo Booth effects using Alter Ego... Are these the problem or might it be the SL upgrade? I never had an issue using any/all of my effects in Photo Booth before the SL upgrade. Any help is appreciated.

I've had a very similar problem. I'm also using Snow Leopard. When I try to employ any special effects in Photo Booth, I can click on the "shutter" button, it will snap the picture, but then it freezes for a minute, and then closes the program and come up with a dialogue box that says "Photo Booth Quit Unexpectedly". It doesn't save the picture either. I tried some of the fixes mentioned, like deleting the preferences file and repairing permissions, and also creating a admin test account to see if the problem duplicates itself there too (which it does) - so it looks like something is in the OS, and not related just to my particular user account. I also trid "AppDelete" to get rid of the program altogether and then reinstalled Snow Leopard - to no avail. Perhaps this will be fixed with another subsequent software update...hopefully.
