Photo Card Reader

Could somebody tell me if there is a card reader to suit the Fifth Gen.Ipod here in Aus. or the USA
  Windows ME

By card reader do you mean a memory card from a digital camera or the like?
The closest you could probably get is the usb camera connector.
I believe there used to be a Belkin card reader for the iPod, but I don't think it's compatible with the newest iPods, so Apple doesn't sell it anymore.

  • SD photo card reader is not working; not recognized by PC (HP Envy 700-414) running Windows 8.1

My SD photo card reader suddenly stopped working - I get an error message to the effect that USB device not recognized.  How do I get this working again?

    Hello @mnskier,
I understand that your SD Card Reader has stopped working. I think you should do a backup and recovery of your computer to ensure that you do not have a hardware issue. The best way to do that is to replace the software so you have ruled out settings or a bad driver as possible causes. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.

  • Photo Card Reader & iPad Mini

Can I use the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit to connect a Card Reader (compatible with 4 different cards for my different cameras) to my iPad Mini?
I note the product description describes connecting my camera with a USB cable; would the card reader connected via the USB cable also work?
    Thanks!
    ...John

Probably not. A 2009 update reduced the amount of power allocated to the port and multi-card readers tend to want more power than the iPad can put out.
You might try it if you have a powered USB hub that you put between the ipad and hte reader.

  • Photo Card Reader not recognized

I have a Card Reader for SD cards that, via USB, is supposed to be used to download pictures in the LapTop (esecially when you cannot do it directly from your camera). Once I connect this Card Reader to my MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion), I cannot "see it", neither in Finder or Desktop. By the way, it happens also with some USB sticks...
Do you know how to make it visible and allow me to download the pictures? Thanks!

Doesn't your mac have a built in sd card reader. Try that.
As to your problem if nothing you connect to either usb port show up in either finder or disk utility then you have a hardware problem and the system will need to go to apple to be fixed. If it is a mid 2012 model you are still in the original warranty period of one year and the repairs should be done for free under the warranty. That is unless you have somehow damaged the system.

  • Airport Exp. USB and photo card reader

My express works fine with Itunes, wireless printing, but does not seem to recognize my universal card reader for digital camera . ( I take the card out of the camera, and insert it into the reader. It works fine when plugged directly into the conputer USB. Thanks for any help.

The AEX's USB port can be used for a printer. It is not intended for any other device.

  • I have both i hoto and apeture on sidebar. When I try to open apeture the dot appears it bounces but won't open. Only if I transfer a photo from i-photo or my card reader? Any suggestions.

Apeture software. It won't open from the sidebar where i-photo lies also. Only when importing photos from i-photo, or card reader. Can anyone help with suggestion.

    Hi Iolenslooker,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
It's possible you may need to replace the shortcut to Aperture that is on your Dock. I would suggest first closing both applications.  Then open Finder, and in the Applications folder, double click on the Aperture application.  If the Aperture launches, then you can delete the shortcut from the dock, and create a new one by dragging the Aperture icon from the Applications folder to the dock.  The article below will explain more:
    Mac Basics: The Dock
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2474
To remove an item from the Dock, drag its icon an inch or more off the Dock and wait a couple seconds, then release; the icon will disappear in a poof of smoke.
Don't worry, you aren't permanently removing the item from your computer; you simply got rid of its Dock icon. If you want that item back in the Dock, locate the application, file, or folder in the Finder (or with Spotlight), and drag it back into the Dock.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • I can no longer import photos into lightroom from card reader or camera.

Just recently my Lightroom 5.3, now 5.6, has stopped allowing me to import photos from my card reader or directly from my camera. When I click the Import button, it lists the card but will not show the previews and the Import button does not become active. What is wrong?
All other modules seem to work fine.

I have the same problem. My program has worked perfectly until a few days ago.
Now the module import has the central screent in blank, empty, and not import anything.

  • My iPad no longer detects my memory card reader to transfer photos from my camera?

My iPad is no longer detecting my apple memory card reader to transfer photos from my camera to my iPad 2

You could try closing the Photos app completely and then re-open it to see if that makes a difference : from the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Are you adding the photos yourself to the card via a computer, or is it straight from a camera ?

Did it...  When I clicked on "No name", a file folder came up and, I forgot to put MacBook Pro in the name bar... That was it!  Maybe someone else can use this post Hopefully...

  • I can't download photos from my canon 350d to my apple mac - even using i-photo (what's image capture). The card doesn't fit in the computer and I don't ave a card reader. Is there a simple solution?

Can anyone help? I'm trying to get the pictures off my canon 350d onto my i-mac (I've tried through i-photo).

Option 1: Download Canon's software. Attach the camera to the computer (USB A to mini B) and the software will ask where to download your photos.
Option 2: Buy a CF card reader.  I recently purchased a PIXELFLASH card reader for $16US.

  • Cannot import photos from SD card into USB card reader after 10.4.10 update

Prior to the 10.4.10 update, I used a USB media card reader to import photos from my Canon camera's SD card and it worked fine. I just tried to do that for the first time since I installed the 10.4.10 update, and now the memory card doesn't show up in iPhoto as a disk from which to import photos.
I'm back to transferring pictures through the cable, which is a bit of a pain and a waste of a new media card reader. Is there a way to restore this ability to use the card reader?
Note: I switched from Windows to Mac in February 2007, and except for having to hunt for media card readers that work with the Mac and a few kernel panics due, I think, to a problem with my Logitech mouse drivers, it's been pretty painless.
Intel iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   C2D 2.16 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive

This problem is not generic to 10.4.10 -- but it is specific to Intel based Macs. I have the same problem with a Zynet 8-in-1 USB-2.0 card reader. It fails to mount on 10.4.10 Intel based Macs but works fine on 10.4.10 PPC macs (and on 10.3.9 PPC too)
It is very annoying because connecting through my phone is very slow, especially when updating 2GB of MP3s.
The reader, with card inserted, is recognized, but no storage media is seen and of course it does not mount as a disk device like it should:
    USB Storage Device:
    Version: 1.00
    Bus Power (mA): 500
    Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
    Manufacturer: Generic
    Product ID: 0x3260
    Serial Number: 20030903213338562
    Vendor ID: 0x0aec
There are no relevant error messages.
I hope Apple's reading these posts -- this sounds like a major, but all too common, FUBAR in the driver code. A fast fix would be very much appreciated!

  • Any card reader to transfer Compact Flash Raw photos to Ipod 5G

Hi I have a Canon 10D digital camera and have a 2Gig Compact Flash Card, I would like to know if there's any compact flash card reader for Ipod video (5th Gen Ipods) so I can use it as a Hard Drive and transfer my RAW photos to the Ipod.
Any suggestion o this or tips on this kind of card reader for Ipod.

    Hi vchavez,
I've got a Nikon D70, use it with camera connector and the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Card Reader/Writer (model no. F5U249ea) google it!
Works fine, there was a website with a list of compatible card readers, but it seem to have took the article away, the belkin above was the one on the list, thats why i got it!
    Happy Shooting.

  • Can't import photos to ipad using SD card reader

I bought the ipad 3 and have the latest os. Somehow the SD card reader is not working. The import tab doesn't appear at all. I have tried rebooting, shutting down etc but no success! This is most frustrating as I'm traveling and can't download my photos!

How did the photos get on the SD card? Did it come from a camera or were the photos copied to the card on a computer?
If the later then note that the file structure and naming convention for the photos must conform to the DCIM standard.

  • CF card reader for photo impport does not show on LR3

Firsst I'm a newbie to Apple and LR3 and using Scott Kelby's LR3 book to start. Incredible as it may be I'm stuck beyond Step 2 (the very beginning of the book) in trying to import photos, first form a DVD and also from a CF card reader. The error message on my DVD says that there is an initialization error (OK, OK , the DVD with photos was created on another laptop, running on Windows Vista, so it may be a Read Only file). Aside from that, however, my CF card with photos does not even show up on LR3.
I have gone to System Preferences and changed the way I want CDs and DVDs to show. In both cases I changed it to "Open in LR3". Is that wrong?
Here is a Screen shot of LR3 Library when  tryingn to import photos. No (CF card) drive is shown. (Hope it shows)
    file://localhost/Users/dennisluz/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202012-03-19%20at%204.29.50%20PM.pn g
I'm getting desperate as I have spent many hours trying to figure how LR3 works. I have created "My LR Photos" folder in LR and I was hoping to create additional subfolders under the above to store all my photos.

    No volunteers?
OK, the saga of the non-loaded photos continues. Since my last post I have on one or two occasions been able to have photos from my CF card load and show on LR3. The last time it was successful, I had the iMac turned on first and then, after half a minute,  connected the CF card reader to the back of the computer and when LR3 was opened, the photos loaded. I have tried connecting the Card reader to the computer first before turning on the iMac but it did not work. Is there a procedure as to what should be turned on first?
Here's another thing: the one time when my photos loaded I was able to go to the Develop module and do all kinds of things the software allowed me to do. There were some photos which I did not select in the Library module and so they stayed in the CF card. Now, when I took more photos in the same CF card (there was still a lot of memory left), no new photos were able to be loaded in LR3. Do I have to clear something first, like a path?
I hope you folks who read this don't get annoyed by this on-again-off-again posting, but, as a newcomer to LR3, I find this confusing. Scott Kelby's book has been helpful in some way but it does not address many situations like mine. I wish I had spent some $$ on the other book by Victoria (?) to supplement kelby's book. Maybe I will.
