Photo Class Roster

I'm looking for an easy way to print a photo class roster with the names under each picture either from iPhoto or another program. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi thomas,
You can check out the contact sheet. Make sure you have the photos titles as the persons name and in the contact sheet options have the titles printed.
You can also try one of the iPhoto books, I think yearbook or something like that. It has a page with many photo boxes and text under the boxes.
You can set up that page and then send the book to print and only print out the photo pages. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how well that would work.

    iPhoto->:File->Export…. BTW, iPhoto and OS version would help; whereas, iOS version doesn't.

  • How to delete students from class roster?

    Hi all,
    Enrolling students in a class was easy, but...
    How do you delete a student from the class roster?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    It’s not so difficult!
    But, it could be better, writing also the model number of your reader device!!!!
    Anyway, here is how on PRS-T2 http://docs.esupport.sony.com/reader/PRST2/eng/contents/06/01/01/01.html
    It’s about the same on most newer models of reader devices (PRS-T1/T2/T3…)
    ---Press the HOME button --> tap [Bookshelves]
    ---Tap and hold an item
    The option items appear.
    ---Tap [Delete].
    ---Tap [Yes] when prompted.
    The item is deleted from the Reader

  • Teacher looking for solution to generating a document linked to class roster.

    I'm looking for an electronic version of the label.
    I want to create a document (like a worksheet) that has fields for Name, Hour, Date at the top.  Then, I'd like the PDF to generate a worksheet per student on my roster, automatically filling in the fields with their roster info.
    When printed, every student would get a worksheet with their own name on it.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Sundance Trosper

    I think what you'ra after is an even handler like this:
    interface ReceiveEventHandler
    void receive(byte[] data);
    public class Wrapper
    private ReceiveEventHandler m_receiveEventHandler;
    /** constructor */
    public Wrapper(String dllName)
    initialise();
    void setReceiveEventHandler(ReceiveEventHandler receiveEventHandler)
    m_receiveEventHandler=receiveEventHandler;
    public void transmit(byte[] data)
    send(data);
    public void receive(byte[] data)
    if(m_receiveEventHandler!=null)
    m_receiveEventHandler.receive(data);
    else
    System.out.println("NO HANDLER");
    where receive is called on a background thread:
    use it like this:
    Wrapper.setReceiveEventHandler(new ReceiveEventHandler()
    public void receive(byte[] data)
    System.out.println("Event handler called "+new String(data));

  • Printing Books for a Photo Class

    I am a college student in a digital photography class. About 90% of the class is on a Mac and we use iPhoto & Aperture to edit photos. We want to start printing books but before we do, what recommendations do you have for the other 10% of the class? Is there a program that PC users can either purchase or download that will allow them to make books? Thanks for your time.

    PC users, as well as Mac users, can make photo books on a variety of online programs. Shutterfly, SharedLink, ImageStation, PhotoWorks all will allow users to create nice bound books. Shutterfly has nice options for page layouts--even more than Apple!

  • How to completely delete photos?

    Hi, I am using iphoto 5 on my G5 iMac running leopard. I am taking a digital photo class and we are taking a lot of 'test' pictures to learn the manual controls. So I am deleting 75% of them after downloading, in order to determine which meet the class assignment. But I went into the iphoto library and the photos I've deleted are still there in the folders by year and download. It appears that while I deleted them from the library, they still live in the iphoto library files.
    So how do I completely delete photos that I don't want? It seems laborious to have to go into the library files in my user folder and have to open each year and folder and relook at them to find the ones I didn't want. I looked in iphoto preferences and didn't see any setting for how deep to delete. Can anyone help?
    Michelle

    To delete photos: Put them in the iPhoto Trash and then empty the trash.
    It seems laborious to have to go into the library files in my user folder and have to open each year and folder and relook at them to find the ones I didn't want.
    Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

  • Photo/Photoshop Effect Ideas

    I'm doing a project for a photo for a photo class I am, but this time my teacher has said that we can do whatever we want. I want t do something creative. I am limited when it comes to taking pictures. I live in a place where there are basically a few malls and stores. No good landscapes nearby. There is, however a creak behind my house, but it's definitely not one worth taking a photo of. Anyways, back to what I was saying, I'm looking for a nice photoshop effect or something that I can do to a picture that's not just retouching (for instance, one of my friends has turned one of the portraits she's taken into picture that looks like it was painted over in watercolor). Any ideas would be helpful! I can provide more information if needed!
    P.S. I'm sincerly sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, I've only been on here a few times, but you all seem to have such great ideas for people.

    So? Take a picture of a cityscape, and give it a 'Techno' feel. Maybe make it an ad poster for an imaginary band/concert. Google 'PhotoShop tutorials' for sites with a whole host of methods and ideas.
    Good luck.

  • Help! How to convert an instance from java.lang.Object to a particula class

    * How to convert an instance from java.lang.Object class to a particular class
    witch is known only at the running time?
    Roster EJB component is make up of RosterHome, Roster and RosterBean.
    RosterHome is the home interface of Roster EJB.
    Roster is the remote interface of Roster EJB.
    RosterBean is the implement of Roster EJB.
    The following code segment is to invoke Roster EJB component.
    String jndiName="roster.RosterHome";
    javax.naming.Context initial = getInitialContext();//getInitialContext() returns a instance of Context.
    Object objref = initial.lookup(jndiName);
    RosterHome home =
    (RosterHome)javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
    RosterHome.class);
    Roster myRoster = home.create();
    String team="T1"
    String player="Tom"
    myRoster.addPlayer(player,team);
    But, now, all the home interface, the remote interface and the JNDI Name of
    Roster EJB component are not been known at the compiling time. However They are
    known at the running time, throught reading from the XML config file.
    Questions:
    1,How to write code for this case ? or
    2,How to convert an instance from Object class to a particular class witch is known
    only at the running time?
    String jndiName="roster.RosterHome";// in fact, reads from XML file.
    String homeClassName="roster.RosterHome";// in fact, reads from XML file.
    String remoteClassName="roster.Roster";// in fact, reads from XML file.
    javax.naming.Context initial = getInitialContext();//getInitialContext() returns a instance of Context.
    Object objref = initial.lookup(jndiName);
    Object objHome= javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
    Class.forName(homeClassName));
    /* how to do next?
    }

    I am not sure what you are trying to do. But at some point you should know which methods to call on the remote interfaces. Maybe the method names are stored in the XML file as well or you have a set of standard method names (also consider parameters).
    However, this can be solved by reflection. Look at the java.lang.reflect package, especially java.lang.reflect.Method, and also at java.lang.Class.
    If you are doing this on the app server:
    I've seen posts where people say that reflection is not permitted in EJB, but I don't think so. Check the EJB spec.
    If you are doing this in an application: reflection is always permitted. Probably also in applets and JSP.

  • How open images from other programs & convert to tiff?

    I am new to digital photography. I usually take 2 to 3 MB images with my Canon Rebel XT and use iPhoto as my basic program to organize images, create albums, and do very basic editing. I'm running on a G4 Powerbook with OS10.3. I expect to upgrade to iPhoto6 soon. I also use Canon's Image Browser (because it does a better job of compression for emailing that my present iPhoto) and an abbreviated version of ArcSoft PhotoStudio which came bundled with my Canon and has editing tools similar to Adobe Photoshop Elements.
    So far I usually use iPhoto's "Preferences/Open in Other" command when I want to open one or more selected images in one of the other programs. I have not found any easy way to locate an image while working in ImageBrowser or PhotoStudio, because iPhoto assigns folder numbers by date, so I'd have to know in which of many numbered folders to look. Placing images into iPhoto albums does not help because while the album names appear in these program's tree view they appear unable to link to them. Canon refuses to answer questions relating to iPhoto and referred me to ArcSoft for any questions about PhotoStudio. ArcSoft says they provide no support for programs bundled with hardware. Typical. What I'd like to know is:
    1. Is there any easy way to locate iPhoto images while I'm in one of these other programs?
    2. Is there any way to copy an entire album from iPhoto to one of these other programs?
    3. I've attended two different digital photo classes in which instructors felt it desirable to convert jpegs to tiffs. One felt it was necessary to reduce the loss of pixels during editing, and the other does it for any image he plans to print, claiming it improves print quality. They recommended getting a special conversion program. Based on responses here to the topic: "Want to save jpeg file as tiff before making edits to photos", others feel that for most amateurs like me this is a minor issue, especially with iPhoto. Testing this I have found, as Kevin Wolfe1 says Feb 12, that compression of a jpeg appears to occur primarily on the first edit and does not sognificantly degrade the image. The programs I mention above appear able to save an edited jpeg as a tiff if desired, but I've noticed also that iPhoto's Export command includes the option to export a jpeg (to desktop or another folder) as a tiff. When I tried this, it did create a file identified as .tif, and I can drag that file back into the iPhoto Library where it remains named as a .tif, and according to iPhoto, this file contains about 5 times the MBs the original jpeg had. What I'm curious to know is, is that a true tiff file or is iPhoto kidding me?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Typical. What I'd like to know is:
    1. Is there any easy way to locate iPhoto images
    while I'm in one of these other programs?
    In iPhoto 06 you have the option to NOT move imported image file in to the iPhoto library. So they images stay in the place where you put them. With this option the iPhoto library only contains "pointers".
    2. Is there any way to copy an entire album from
    iPhoto to one of these other programs?
    Can't you open an album, select all the images then then use "export"
    3. I've attended two different digital photo classes
    in which instructors felt it desirable to convert
    jpegs to tiffs.
    If you are worried about this then you should be shooting RAW format. In your case the camera is doing the JPG conversion and the "damage" is unrecoverable.
    iPhoto 6 and Tigeer (10.4.x) has a little bit better supportfor raw format images i yu are worried about something that makes such a small difference then you should be woried about the stuf that makes a large difference first.
    You might want to concider this workflow:
    1) use Canon software to download files from camera
    2) use Canon software to convert to TIFF
    3) Import TIFF to iPhoto (using option to NOT consolidate library
    4) specify arcedit, PS or Gimp as your external editor
    Others might want to lt iPhoto do the import and raw conversion but you said you wanted thr photos to be stored outside of iPhoto's library system you you can find them with out having to do an export.

  • IPhoto '09 can't "locate" a recent set of imported images

    ISSUE
    NOTE: This is for a MANAGED iPhoto library NOT a Referenced one, and the original image files DO exist and are located in both the source location and the iPhoto Library.
    Late last friday (11/6) suddenly started getting the following error messages on a specific set of images imported into iPhoto from an external Hard Drive:
    • The photo “classes.nib” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found.
    The quoted filename varies, but are all like the above, NOT the actual image filename.
    I've had the message before, (rarely and not for years) but normally the filename in quotes is the name of the selected image i.e. "IMG_2251.jpg, etc. and has always been due to the actual file no longer existing for one reason or another (usually some thing I did)
    The error message only appears during Preview of the image set in the Library >"Photos" index section.
    I am currently ignoring the warning, since:
    • the images DO appear to exist (in iPhoto Library> Originals > [the year] > [the date]
    • are obviously being managed by iPhoto,
    • can be edited by iPhoto (see more info below)
    But this obviously makes me nervous about the integrity of my photo library (i do have time machine and some disc media backups of many (not all, yet) albums, but still ...
    CONFOUNDING FACTORS
    1. Despite the error message:
    • the image preview appears (not an "!" or "?") before and after dismissal of the message
    • I can continue on to edit the image from the preview step.
    • I can right click on the preview, select "Show Original File" and iPhoto locates the original image in the iPhoto Library Package file.
    2. It does not appear if:
    • I ignore the message and continue on to to edit the image
    • I preview the image in the "Library > Events" index section.
    • I preview the image in the "Recent > Last Import" index section.
    3. Trashing, and emptying trash (from any index view) then re-importing them hasn't helped.
    4. All offending photos can be opened, viewed and edited in various image viewers, editors (Preview.app, the Finder Quickview, Photoshop CS 3, Graphic Converter
    5. Subsequent imports don't appear to have the problem.
    SUGGESTS:
    • A database problem?
    RESOLUTION STEPS:
    Attempted with no corrective results.
    1. Trashed problem photos and emptied iPhoto Trash, reimported images from Ext. HD via drag-n-drop to library index
    2. Above, re-imported via File > Import to Library ...
    3. Above 1 and 2 import steps with files copied to Local HD
    4. Step 3 above with duplicated files (via File > Duplicate)
    5. Opened a photo file in Preview, did save as ..., imported into iPhoto
    6. Step 5 above with Photoshop CS3, slightly cropped image, saved as, imported into iphoto.
    7. Ran "Disk Utility > Verify and Repair Disk" from Snow Leopard Install Disc (there were file and folder count mismatch issues)
    8. Re-ran Verify afterwards with clean bill of health.
    RECREATION STEPS:
    Unknown on how to initially trigger but the last and only iPhoto Console logs appear to be from around the time the issue began:

    Message edited for typos and format errors by Lyle Turner

    RESOLVED (if not altogether answered)
    Performed the iPhoto database rebuild cha-cha again - this time selecting ALL checkboxes (previously only selected "Rebuild from backup)
    After rebuild, some photos appeared to be fixed, but photos that still showed the the error were all within specific Photo Rolls and DID NOT allow me to "show original file" on right click.
    On inspection within the iPhoto Library package, the remaining problem photo files were all ALIASES, not actual image files.
    Although the error dialog allowed me to to try and find the missing original, browsing for it didn't work. All image files listed in the browser were grayed out and not selectable.
    SO, not sure if this was kosher, but the following seemed to clear things up:
    * found real images for the aliased files on archived media
    * copied the real files over the aliases of the same file name
    * accepted finders warning that I was replacing files of the same name
    * returned to the iPhoto rolls and previewed the previously error prone images
    NOTE: I DID NOT close iPhoto while I was doing this. Not sure how dangerous that was.
    iPhoto seemed none the wiser, and the error message was gone. (oddly, initially the first photo in each affected roll still threw up the error, but when I moved on the the next one and came back, all seemed well and the message was gone)
    Did not appear to be a rhyme or reason to which rolls contained aliases and which didn't - photo/file date stamps weren't contiguous (so it wasn't a problem of a series of event imports from the camera/card.)
    Best I can figure is somehow some sets were imported as referenced files although my iPhoto is set to use a managed library.
    I'm in the process of consolidating some older manually managed image archives, so I don't know when this happened, or if it's the result of some accidental duplication, aborted import or what. I DO know that I had not encountered this error before, and I know I reviewed the affected rolls some time in the past, long after I had imported them.
    Well, all seems to be on the mend. So life is good.
    Except for those crufty leftovers. May still want to do something about that.
    Thanks to Terence for leading me to look in the right places.

  • Problem printing the JTable

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with printing JTable.
    My application has a submit button,JTable and Print Button.
    As I click on the Submit button, the data is retrieved from the Database(MS Access) and displayed on the JTable.
    Now when I click on the Print button, the printer properties dialog box is displayed. But when I click on the print button in the dialog box, nothing is printed on the paper.
    I checked the printers and faxes in the control panel, It showed Java printing under the Document name and Printing under the Status. It is displayed for sometime and then disappeared after some time. But nothing is printed on the paper(not even the blank paper).

  • CS5.5 I can't get testing server, "design" and "Split" views operational

    I just upgraded from DWCS3 to DWCS5.5 and am trying to get php (dynamically related) files working. Very frustrating.
    I have set up everything according to the tutorial at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_testing_server.html Nothing seems to work. And no one seems to currently be answering posts...so I apologize if this is a faux pas, but I'm starting a new thread in hopes that I and others can get some help.
    Here's what I have:
    WAMP server: : C:\TNG813onMowesII\www\ (Mowes Portable II is  software that enables you to quickly set up a WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) system on any Windows system.))
    Site Name: localhost genealogy Local Site Folder: C:\TNG813onMowesII\www\ Server Name: localhost  Server Folder: C:\TNG813onMowesII\www\  Web URL: http://localhost/genealogy/ Server Model: PHP MySQL Connection: Local/Network
    Remote - unchecked
    Testing - checked
    I also have an idnetical image at D:/MyWebs/public_html/ for syncing with my remote website - http:larryvoyer.com
    My "Design", "Split", "Live View" and "Inspect" buttons are greyed out.
    Again, I apologize if I messed things up bu opening a thread on a prvious subject

    There are many ways to test and analyze DNA, but there are two particular kinds of DNA testing that are especially useful in genealogy:  Y-chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) testing and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) testing.  The genealogical usefulness of these two DNA tests is based on two aspects of human inheritance:
       <ol>
       <li>  that the Y chromosome is passed on only by the father</li>
       <li>  that mitochondria are passed on only by the mother</li>
       </p>
       <p>Both a VOYER and a BEDARD DNA project have been created and can reached through the links below. Please make sure that the person submitted for DNA tests is in our dtabase so that we can determine the earliest ancestor.
       If you are submitting for a mitochondrial DNA test, please contact us so that we can attempt to trace your maternal pedigree.

    John,
    I misundrstood you response
    I entered http://localhost in my browser and recieved the following page:
    Asd you can see everything is working. I thought that when you called local host, it went to the www/ directory where I have my sites
    I still don't see a problem with my settings
    Server Folder: C:\TNG813onMowesII\www\
    Web URL: http://localhost/genealogy/
    I hate it when the tool is more trouble than the work.

  • Image Processor in Lightroom?

    In my photo class, the teacher said to get Lightroom to be able to change the file sizes of my large pictures. In photoshop I would click on file - scripts - image processor.  How do I do this in Lightroom?
    Thanks for your help!

    Honestly, just do it in Photoshop and don't bother with Lightroom if that's your only goal, to change the "file sizes". Why bother obtaining and installing and learning Lightroom if all you want is a function you can already perform in Photoshop?
    Lightroom does not change the "file sizes" of your images. It is a completely non-destructive editor that leaves your original image files unchanged (exception: when metadata is written to the xmp portion of the file).
    Perhaps you mean "image size" and not "file size"?

  • First try at creating a Form/Using Javascripts

    Looking for constructive criticism. I am an instructor in the US Navy and I am forced to type out a boring routing sheet when submitting anything that needs approval from anyone other than myself. I finally decided to try my hand at Adobe Acroboat X Pro and this is the end result. Please feel free to criticise/help me build on this first attempt ever to write code. In my first attempt at using acrobat's Javascript editor I have discovered that it is a complete nightmare and not very userfriendly. I could write a string and save it only to find out that next time I went back to edit something it would tell me that I had a syntax in something that was a known good! Very aggrivating! Does anyone know if/where the limits of the java script are located? I was getting some problems while writing the strings at around line #40 so I would back it up to line #39, save it, then go back in and I could magicaly go past line 40. Anyone seen anything like this before?

    Unless you are really really good at editing JavaScript, I would not use the "Edit All Scripts", it is far to easy to make a mistake.
    It might be more helpful to have a copy of the form with JavaScirpts.
    It looks like you are trying to set a second or more drop down box using a data object.
