Photo cloud storage

Can anyone recommend a cloud storage that I can upload all my photos from all devices to view, share, etc?

Hang on a while for the  new photos app and the iCloud Photo Library.

    Hello Pushtheriver,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iCloud storage issues:

    Understanding iOS device capacity
You can sync and download many different types of content on your device. Some types of content (such as music and videos) typically take more space than others (such as notes and books). The amount of space taken by an app depends on the app's purpose; complex or graphically intense apps usually take more space than simpler apps.
If your device is near its capacity, you can remove some of the less used content to make room for more.

  • Questions on photos and storage

I have a few questions about photos and storage... If you can just answer one of these, that's fine and thanks for the help!
How do I see how much space my iPhoto photos are taking on my hardrive?
I have Time machine which backs up, but concerned that I'm getting too many pictures.  When I do "Get Info" on the hardrive it says 640GB Capacity with 254GB used. I'm assuming that includes all my photos, and that Time machine only backs up and is not the active storage for those photos?
What is advisable for available GB space on this size computer?
I have my photos on the hardrive and the time machine, is it also advised to have in a cloud-based storage system to be safe? Or some other place.  Just checking what others do with this.

1 - it is a really good idea to start new threads with new questions - threadjacking a year old solved thread on a totally different subject will not provide the best coverage and the best answers
2 - Do NOT uncheck the option to copy imported items to the iPhoto library - it is a really, really bad idea that will create many problems for yo and has no advantages of any sort - see the user tip on file management in iPhoto for more details - iPhoto and File Management
3 - take the time to learn how to use iPhoto and the concept of using a database for management photos rather than a file based system like you are used to - it is much different and much more powerful - but there is a learning curve and a different thought process
4 - yes you can always export anything or everything from iPhoto for use on any other system - see the user tip on exporting for details - Exporting From iPhoto
5 - always remember that you never access your photos directly - iPhoto totally replaces the finder for managing your photos - see the user tip on accessing photos for more details - How to Access Files in iPhoto

  • Cloud storage on multiple devices

Hello, I've been pretty satisfied with Apple, EXCEPT when it comes to cloud storage.
    I have three devices:
    iPad Retina
My 6 year old daughter has my iPAd 2
    and my iPhone.
all devices are under the same account, but every day I get a message stating that my storage is full. and I would need to purchase more storage.
Why doesnt Apple reward or atleast ackkowlege that people with more devices get more free storage???
it used to be that the photos didnt count against you, now it seems that it does.
Very frustrating especially knowing that I cn get 25gigs free from Skydrive.
    Any thoughts?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
iCloud space is calculated per account not per device. It's not necessary to use any more space because you have 3 devices than it is if you had one.
Photos don't count towards space used, that hasn't changed.
Sky drive is a completely different type of service, it's not really comparable.

  • How do I transfer RAW+jpg to cloud storage under iOS 8?

I want to transfer Canon RAW+jpg CR2 files, imported from the camera via the camera connection kit, from my iPad to cloud storage in Dropbox. Prior to iOS 8, I could accomplish this by exporting from the photography workflow app PhotosInfoPro. That functionality is now broken. The app performs correctly when handling pure jpg files, or handling pure RAW files, but fails when handling RAW+jpg. The operation completes without any error messages, but only the jpg data from the RAW+jpg has been uploaded to the cloud. The RAW sensor data isn't there.
Is there an alternate method to transfer these files from the iPad to cloud storage - either Dropbox or Google Drive? I have tried many different things, none of which were successful. I can get the jpg portion into the cloud, but not the RAW portion. If you know of a method or an app that is performing this successfully under iOS 8, please help. I am at my wits end.

How can I transfer the photos to the Cloud to free up some space?
iCloud does not store photos long term. You can share your photos to your Photo Stream to transfer them, but you need to download them on another device, before you delete them from your iPhone.
Back them up on a computer, before you delete them from your iPhone.
    For example, by:
Import photos directly into iPhoto or Aperture on your computer.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes.

  • How to store pictures in the cloud storage

Can you store pictures in the cloud service? What would the cost be and if at all possible or is it only for music..Thanks...

Jason, is there a way to store the photos into a permanent cloud storage and keep them there? I guess, something like the itunes music, where apple saves all of your music....Thank you for the site, which has helped me considerably to understand what it is all about...Ciao, Jo
Jo, not that I'm aware of as an offering from Apple. While the photo stream can serve that purpose for a finite period of time (it's a rolling 1,000) if you're looking for web/cloud hosting or something similar to the galleries feature that .Mac/MobileMe offered you'll need to seek it elsewhere. The good news, there are numerous cloud storage services out there most of which offer free storage ranging between 2GB and 5GB.
I personally use Dropbox.com for photo galleries and cloud storage/file sharing. But there's several to pick from and all of them are quite good.

  • Online/cloud storage for use with Aperture?

Can anyone tell me if there is an option for online/cloud storage for Aperture photo libraries?  I take a lot of photographs which progressively fill ip my hard drive. I'm interested in getting a  Air (especially if the rumors of updated Sandy Bridge processors coming this June pan out), but can't really do that and keep all the photographs on my notebook.   I realize I could use an external drive, but I would sort of like to have access to all the photographs without always to carry along the external drive.   I suspect such a thing exists, but I'm a novice when it comes to cloud storage...  Thanks

Check out Mosaic. Mosaic provides online storage that is integrated with your Aperture Library. This way if you have your Aperture photos referenced to an external hard drive, you can still access all of your files from the road.
This enables Argelius prefered workflow where you use an external hard drive for your local storage but you don't have to carry the external around with you everywhere you go.

  • What about 3rd party cloud storage file access via bridge?

First of all, lets all agree to get some training to the help chat lines.  Inder was one I was chatting with and as I was typing another challenging question to the just down stupid answer I got being treated as an idiot, he or she cut me off, closed the chat and stated thank you for using Adobe chat support.  I guess the stats on how fast you deal with an issue is far more important than proving a viable service Adobe.  YES I AM F!@#$%G MAD.
So I found out that Bridge went out of their way in development  to stop me from organizing and or just opening files from DropBox. All I wanted to do was conveniently open a JPG in RAW for some preliminary editing before bring the file into Photoshop CC. A feature that Adobe has been ranting and bragging about for a while.  When I tried this GREAT feature in Bridge as it were, I could not even open the shortcut to the folders where I store my photos in the cloud DropBox. When I persisted, Bridge eventually crashed.  I am sure that was some easy code to put in there to teach me a lesson for not buying Adobe cloud storage.
So, after had spending 1000s and 1000s of dollars on Adobe products over the last 20 + years, I get treated as an idiot, an undereducated consumer, no respect and have to adhere to timeline restraints to meet a undereducated / under-trained so called specialist stats she he she won't get reprimanded or loose their job.
So here is my knowledge to the issue at hand.  I can not navigate Internet Based Cloud services without having to download them to my desktop first using Bridge CC.  Thus rendering this app useless when most if not all project files are on the cloud.  (Using the cloud makes so much sense in my case as a collaborator, project lead - manager, teacher in the arts of multimedia and a professional photographer).
Seems like there is no solution from Adobe, so my question to the forum is, what apps are you using to get around this issue.  Adobe doesn't deserve my loyalty anymore and must EARN IT BACK! Third party solutions free or otherwise is welcomed.

  • Transfer and access cloud storage

My iPhone 5s internal storage is nearly full, however I have more than 80% of my cloud storage available.  How do I transfer photos, videos, and music to the cloud and maintain my ability to access them on my phone so that I can free up some space?

    Hi,
You may have to use "Shared Access Signature".
Shared access signature is a URI that grants restricted access rights to containers, blobs, queues, and tables for a specific time interval. By providing a client with a shared access signature, you can enable them to access resources in your storage account
without sharing your account key with them.

  • HT201238 How to use cloud storage?

How do I access my 20 GB extra cloud storage?

You have bought extra space for your device backups (photos, documents, files etc), if you want to download extra content onto your iPad then you will have to delete some of your existing content from your iPad.
You can see how much space each app (the app itself and its content) is taking up on your iPad via Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage (under the 'storage' heading) - and you can delete apps (those that you've downloaded from the store, you can't delete built-in app) from there (before you delete an app make sure that you've copied off anything important in them e.g. any documents), or via the iPad's home screens.

  • Does the photography package (Photoshop & Lightroom) come with cloud storage?

Does the photography package (Photoshop & Lightroom) come with cloud storage?

    Hi
I'm really puzzled by conflicting information regarding cloud storage. 2GB seems like a really tiny amount. I assume, therefore, that people must only use the package for editing photos and then must use another service to store them in the cloud, as 2GB surely only amounts to about 500 photos, which I'd use in a couple of days. What would people's typical workflow be?
I'd read somewhere that there's unlimited lightroom web storage, but this seems not to be the case.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

  • Lightroom with cloud storage, NOT synced

I have nearly 1TB of photos and videos.  With Google (& the rest of the world) reaching a $10/month price for 1TB cloud storage, I want to put all of this media into the cloud and get it off of my PCs.  I do not want to use desktop sync because then every computer I use needs 1TB of disk space just to hold media that I hardly ever access.  But I do want to have all of those photos and videos cataloged, tagged, and searchable.
Ideally, the catalog itself should be synced to my desktops so that I can search through my collection quickly, but the photos should be stored only in the cloud, unless I actually open a photo to view or edit.  Then it should temporarily be copied locally, and any edits pushed back to the cloud when I'm done.
Can Lightroom work like this?  Is there any program out there that can?

No LR needs the photos accessible locally to work on them.   Maybe someday.
