Photo Creations in PSE9 at another partition than C:

Hi,
The internal HDD in my pc with Windows XP has more than one partition.
My C: partition has a restricted space, so from th DVD I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (PSE9) on the D: partition which has much more space than on C:
But after having installed PSE9 on D: I found on C: a subdirectory called
"/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/9.0/Photo Creations"
which uses nearly 1,5 Gb of space!
Is it possible to let install that on the D: partition as well?
Thank you in advance...

Dear Gerry,
This is a clear and helpull answer to me. So, I have to sort out to
other (big) files/maps on C: to move or to increase the partition.
Thank you for your reaction.

  • How to print regular photos with photo creation

    I installed Photo Creation, and I want to print photos, I don't want design, how can i print normal prints.
    Thank you

    Hi Maricris.
    To print plain photos in HP Photo Creations, select the Prints project rather than the Collage Prints project. (Collage prints let you place up to 60 items on a page, including photos, graphics, and text.)
    Here's a step-by-step guide to making single plain prints in sizes from 4x6 up:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Home-Web-Printing/How-do-I-print-4X6-with-tab-photos-1-per-page-with-NO...
    HP Photo Creations doesn't have a preset for wallet-size prints, so in that case, you can use the Collage Prints project to group multiple copies of the same photo on a page. Here's how:
    Start with the Plain White theme. It's in the Contemporary category.
    Add your photo.
    Click the Photos tools and then the Used Photos tab. You'll see a small version of your photo there.
    Click the photo in the Used Photos area several more times to add multiple copies to the layout. In the example below, we added ten copies total.
    Click the Design tools. Then click the Photo Layouts tab.
    Select the Basic category and then click the fourth preset. It looks like a big square. Your photos should line up as shown below.
    Thanks for trying HP Photo Creations,

    My friend has over 2,000 photos on her iphone and it only used 1.7 GB of space and I know I had at one point over 3,000 photos on my phone and still had space left for more.
    Any tips are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Melissa.

    When you open your camera app, does it say "HDR on" at the top?
    HDR photos are better quality but take up much more space.
    Also, go to Settings>photos and camera.  Scroll down to "keep normal photo".  Is it on?  This feature saves a normal copy and an HDR copy of every photo you take.
    I bet your friend has this feature turned off along with the HDR as well.

  • Can I install Calendar Server on another partition other than root file system

    Can I install Calendar Server on another partition other than / ?
    <P>
    In this version, the default path is hard coded to install in
    /users/unison. However, if you do not have enough room on your root
    partition or choose to install it in another location, you can do so
    using a logical link. The installation guide explains this as well.
    <P>
    For example, suppose you want /users/unison, which must NOT already
    exist, to be logically linked to /var/opt/unison, which must exist.
    Then as root user:
    <P>
    <UL>
    <LI>
    Create the directory /users (if it does not already exist)
    <P>
    % mkdir /users
    <P>
    <LI>
    Create the logical link. The directory /users/unison must
    NOT exist before doing this.
    <P>
    % ln -s /var/opt/unison /users/unison
    </UL>
    <P>
    <P>

    makes a lot of sense.  I am looking for an answer myself.  My documents folder long ago outgrew it's place on the boot drive.  It would be nice to keep it in the user folder organized on another disc

  • Can you no longer have a background color for the text box in the new version of hp photo creations

    just updated to the new version of HP Photo Creations, used to be able to have a colored background for the text box - is that no longer possible in this new (not better) version????!!!!! Uuuuuuuuuugh

    Hi Lainey.
    Thanks for asking. We're working on bringing back that feature. In the meantime, here's another way to add text backgrounds: Add a placeable graphic and then click the Arrange button to send it to the back, behind the text.
    That approach also gives you more interesting shapes. The new alignment guides make it a snap to align a graphic with a text box. In the example below (it may take a day for the image to show up here), I also used the new Premium Editing Features to change the color of the graphic.
    P.S. — Applying a thick border to an empty text box (also using the Premium Editing Features) is another way to create a background shape. That has the advantage of letting you pick any color for the box. You'll also find several new text styles at the bottom of the new text menu.
    Let us know if we can help further,

  • Best method to seamlessly swap someone's face in a group photo with their face in another photo?

    A band hired me to do a photoshoot of them and it was my first time shooting a band professionally so I was and still am quite nervous about the photos turning out well, especially since they're a well known group and the pictures will be published in a magazine and spread around a lot and attributed to me.  The issue I'm posting here about is that all of the best shots I got of the group are good except for one member who will either be making a weird expression or has their eyes closed.  I took a lot of photos but I didn't really get any where each member of the group looks good in the same photo; they each look good throughout the set of photos, just not all at once in one photo.  What I'd like to do is replace that member's face in the otherwise good photo with her face from another photo from the shoot where her eyes aren't closed or she has a better expression...but I feel like I'm playing with fire by doing this since I really don't want it to be obvious that I photoshopped it in any way, either to the band or anyone who views the photos later on.
    I'm decent with Photoshop but I'd still like to know what the best method of doing this would be so that it looks as natural/unaltered as possible.  Any suggestions?
    Also, the photos I'd be switching the faces in were mostly shot from the same angle and with the same lighting and exposure but a few were shot from slightly different angles or the exposure is slightly different, which makes it more difficult.  If, for example, due to flash settings the photo I'm trying to paste a face into (let's call it Photo A) is slightly brighter than the photo I'm trying to copy the face from (Photo B), what's the best way to merge/adjust the two so that the brightness levels in Photo A and the layer from Photo B are as similar as possible?
    (I'm using PS CS6)

    Ideally, if you have several shots from the same place, with that band member's head in a similar angle, you could do something like this:
    1.  Choose the Polygonal lasso tool.
    2.  Set it to feather a few pixels.
    3.  Select around the facial features in the image with the good face.
    4.  Paste the good face on the otherwise good background and move it into position over the bad face.
    5.  Set it to be partially transparent to help you align it.  Use Edit - Free Transform to rotate or scale it if it's off a little.
    6.  Make it fully opaque, and use Curves, etc. to perfectly match the exposure, if it's off a little.
    Clearly you can do this with the mouth, eyes, whole face, etc.
    Example:

  • How do i scan with my Scanjet 4570c with HP Photo Creations?

    i recently upgraded to OS X Lion and my Image Zone software is not supported.  I "upgraded" to HP Photo Creations but this seems like it is a portal to buy pictures.  I just want to scan dox and fotos. How do i do this?
    anyone else experiencing problems with their ScanJet 4570c or other scanners with OS X Lion?

    H Shivnarc.
    If your scanner is supported in OS X Lion, you should be able to scan using the built-in Preview program. Scanning is enabled by a background program called a driver. Lion is supposed to download the driver automatically if it's available. See
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669
    Said another way, HP Photo Creations doesn't have scanning functions. It's designed to help you make keepsakes with photos you've already loaded. In addition to the commerically produced products you saw, such as photo books and mugs, HP Photo Creations offers items you can print at home, such as enlargements, calendars, and greeting cards. You can see all the home-printing projects by clicking the Print at Home tab on the Catalog screen.
    For further reference, here's HP's US driver download page. It doesn't currently list a Lion driver for your scanner:
    www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    So, perhaps not the answer you wanted, but I hope it cleared up the background. You may find a solution by reposting your question as "Need OS X Lion Driver for Scanjet 4570c."

  • Parallel Installation to another partition with Os X snow leopard

    Hi, My Wife Just got a Mac Book Pro 15 Inch used off of Ebay. I have a few questions. The issue we are having is that after setting up her user account settings and trying to get ride of the old user account we have a screen with a folder and question mark which i assume that it can't find system files or can't fine boot sector on the drive. We tried repairing the partitions using the os disk but does not work. We also originally go locked out by open firmware and had to reset ram to fix. The Os Partition contains data we want to save. I was wanting to know if its possible to do a paralell install of the os onto another partition on the same drive without wiping the entire drive so we can access content of the old osx partition to backup or mirror the drive to save data. Also is there a way to reinstate warranty and transfere ownership of a used system. everythng is ok with it just that we will have to do a reinstall of the os Thanks

    Correct. No bootable system was found.
    We tried repairing the partitions using the os disk but does not work.
    You mean you tried to [repair the hard drive with Disk Utility|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417], as described at that link? If so, how exactly did it not work? Were there unrepairable errors? Or was repair successful but the problem still exists?
    The Os Partition contains data we want to save.
    If this is a used machine and you haven't wiped the hard drive and reinstalled from scratch, you're playing with fire. Sounds like you've got a machine that's not in good working order, plus, for all you know, the original owner has installed some kind of key logger or other malware to steal your personal information without your knowledge. Not to mention that, if you're trying to keep applications that are installed on the computer but that you don't have disks for, you're breaking the law... that's software piracy.
    OTOH, if the only data you're concerned about is your data, then you absolutely MUST have a backup, preferably more than one. If you don't, anything you do could result in tragedy, especially on a machine experiencing problems. You can create a backup even if the system isn't working by booting from the Mac OS X install disk, switching to Disk Utility and using the Restore tab. You'll need an external hard drive to copy to.
    Also is there a way to reinstate warranty and transfere ownership of a used system.
    No, if the warranty is expired, it's expired.

  • Where to find my photo creation folder? pse 8??

    I need to

    Hi Barbara
    I am also having difficulty locating the Photo Creations folder. I have switched on View Hidden Folders and still no sign of it. Here is a screen capture of
    the folders I have :
    I located the other Styles in the Presets folder and I have copied files into the Styles sub folder. However, when I open PSE8 they are not shown in the Effect fx box.
    This has me baffled and would really appreciate it if you could help me with this one.
    Thanks .... Anne
    Edited to add:    I HAVE FOUND IT!!!   It is in the ProgramData Folder
    I found these awesome instructions:  http://digitalscrapper.com/forums/showthread.php?3294-Install-Layer-Styles-in-Photoshop-El ements-7%968%97Windows

  • How can I Copy/backup photos in iphoto to external drives smaller than iPhoto library

    How can I Copy/backup photos in iphoto to external drives smaller than iPhoto library?  I have several 128 GB SSD's that I want to use to copy/backup all my iPhoto photographs for a permanent archive due to stability...but my iPhoto library is larger than the drives (about 234 GB) so it would require two of the SSD's...how best to get the original photos onto the SSD's?  I'm running Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6...thx.

    Terrence - Can you explain what you mean by data loss?  In the iPhoto Library?  Or on the copy?
    Larry - In what way is each photo "degraded"?  Quality?  Isn't it simply making an an exact copy, in this case a jpeg, as would happen if I dragged and dropped a different file type?  Is there another type of degradation?
    I am working on trying to create a correct backup as well (per your instructions) but I wanted to use this as a "put in a fireproof safe" archive on very small SSD's that would never have a mechanical hard drive problem (we've lost a couple over time so aren't real confident in their staying power)...I also recognize that I I won't have newer photos in this archive group but at least it would have 98% of our photos in another off-site location...at least that's the thought...
    Thx for your input and look forward to more in your reply...

  • [REINSTALL] moved /var to another partition - now everything is borked

    Ah, I reckon I might  have shot my install
    I was running out of space and seeing that /var took up some 3GB I decided to move it to another partition and adjust the fstab accordingly. It all worked but on reboot hal didn't start. I tried to reinstall it with pacman and now I am told:
    error: database path is undefined
    error: could not register 'core' database (could not open database)
    Am I shot???

    All that's in /var/cache/pacman/pkg are packages. You can keep packages if you're afraid something will break and only rolling back to older packages will fix it (which for some people it does), but there are some mirrors out there that update slower than others (so the thing is to pick a mirror that syncs often, so if you really need to downgrade, you can grab the older packages from a slower mirror for example).
    I clean out my package cache periodically. If something breaks and I need to roll back (which happened to me with the bluetooth upgrade) I usually check the web CVS frontend for the PKGBUILDs and rebuild what I need.
    In general, there's no reason to hold on to your cache - and certainly not that big a cache. If you keep it under a GB you should be safe, generally that covers most if not all packages you installed, one version back. You'll have to sift, though.

  • Transferring Apple Software to another partition

    Hi!
    My computer's hard drive was divided into 5 partitions a few years ago and after subsequent updates, etc. the partition that holds my systems folders is currently way too full for comfort.
    I've long since transferred all my applications (except for the ones that came with my computer, like iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, etc.) to another partition.
    Does anyone know which, if any, of these remaining software applications can be safely tranferred to another partitipon without causing problems?
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    amysue:
    How large is your drive? and How large are the partitions?
    What you are asking can be done, depending on your answers to the above questions. However, it does make for a very inconvenient and inefficient arrangement, to say the least. Your partitions are more of a hindrance than a help. In the long run you are better off backing up your Users Folder and any third party apps you don't want to or can't reinstall, and reformatting you entire HDD. Then you can re-install the OS and restore your data. If you don't have a good reason for wanting partitions it would be better to have just one partition.
    Post back if you have further questions or need help with the reformatting and re-installation.
    Good luck.

    How do you remove a person from a photo and repalce her with another person.

    There are many tool and "tricks" to accomplish this manipulation. However, depending on the image one technique might be more appropriate than an other. And then there is the question of how to do it "skillfully". For example, the shadows in the person that is being substituted might be different than in the original image creating the obviously "photoshopped" look.
    Doing an Internet search on your posting title brings up lots of examples.
