Photo deleted on iPhone does not delete on Photos on iMac

Anyone know why this would happen?

Greetings Ivanvdm,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are using My Photo Stream and deleting a photo on the iPhone is not deleting it from the Mac. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
Delete photos from My Photo Stream - Apple Support
When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream on an iOS device, Mac, or PC, that photo will be deleted from the My Photo Stream view on all your devices after you connect each device to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Mario

When you delete a photo from your iphone does it delete it from the icloud backup?

No, however your next backup will not contain the photo as it is no longer on your phone (and iCloud only saves approx. 3 older backups so the one containing the photo will eventually no longer be available).  Also, a word of caution...it seems like many users end up losing some or all of their photos when restoring to their iCloud backup.  To be safe, don't rely on the backup but instead import your photos (and videos) to your computer, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Just got my iPad and when syncing photos will only sync recent photos taken on iPhone - will not sync any photos from my albums or events despite selecting all events

Just got my iPad and when syncing photos will only sync recent photos taken on iPhone - will not sync any photos from my albums or events despite selecting all events or even when i select specific events or albums.

What is the file name of the video(s) you want to sync?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • IMessage deleted on MBP does not delete on iPhone 5

My problem is related to the iMessage app on my iPhone 5 and MBP Retina.  I have not been able to find a suitable answer to this problem in the Apple discussions, however there are discussions relating to syncing of messages, or the lack thereof, but that's not my problem.  My problem has to do with deleting messages from one device and then those message being deleted on the other device.
Both devices, iPhone 5 and 15" MBP Retina are up to date (iOS 8.1.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).
I can send and receive iMessage and SMS texts from both my iPhone as well as the Mac.  The synchronization works beautifully!
My problem is this.  When I delete a conversation from the message app on the MBP it DOES NOT get deleted on the iPhone iMessage app.  Likewise a conversation that is deleted from the iPhone DOES NOT get deleted from the MBP message app.  I have tested this by sending a message to myself, which showed up on both devices.  I could converse all day long with myself (bad habit!) from both the iPhone and MBP, but when the message was deleted from one device it did not get deleted from the other device.  Very annoying!
As an additional issue, under Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding my MBP appears twice and only one can be turned on at a time.  How can I delete the other device?  I can't find where that is set up.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
Messages or rather iMessages are Pushed as it is called from the server to registered devices.
They can be considered to come separately for Mac and iOS devices.
Once a device indicates the device has received the iMessage the server stops sending it to that device.
There is a time limit to the devices that are Off line.
At the moment they are delivered that are deleted from the server.
Other than the response that "I Got it " from the device that signals the Received/Delivered and Read feedback info there is no further contact with the server about it.
Other apps work on a  Fetch process meaning things can be left on the server for other devices to read/Fetch.
The Sync process is therefore "Display on all devices" and nothing more.

  • Deleting in aperture does not delete from disk

When deleting masters in Aperture 3.5.1 it does not delete the files from the disk.
I'm using a WD MyBook USB Drive formatted for MAC OS.
I only use referenced masters to save space with the Aperture Library.
Any help to get Aperture to delete files fully, or a way to find a couple years worth of not deleted files on the drive
(e.g. find all files in a folder on the drive that are not in Aperture), would be very welcomed.
    thanks

    Hi,
As I want a clean system, I conducted a series of extra tests to understand why the "delete picture version" did not work.
I can now say that it was related to this second volume (disk) I added in my laptop, which had, for an unknown reason, a permissions issue.
Note that it's impossible to automatically check the volume permissions on a non-bootable partition!
The impact of this permission problem is that the Trash is not working on this volume.
I'm sorry that Aperture didn't mention this (delete) error anywhere during my troubleshooting, as it could have saved me a lot of time!
So here's how to detect and fix:
Create a folder or file next to your library on this volume, then try to delete this empty folder/file.
At this time, it won't be moved to the Trash, but Finder proposes to delete it directly. Don't.
First open this other disk volume with Finder using the "Get Info" (CMD-I) and go at the bottom of the window.
Enable the option "Ignore ownership on this volume" (your password may be needed to unlock this feature first).
Check if the Trash is now working by deleting this empty folder/file. If you did the right operation, it should be placed in the Trash.
Now the permission issue is fixed, try again to delete your pictures from Aperture, and they will be moved automatically to the Trash.
    Cheers

  • Deleted Mail on the iPhone does not delete on .Mac

I've noticed that when I delete mail on my iPone in my .Mac account that it does not show as deleted when going to webmail.mac.com. I see the messages still in my inbox AND in the trash.
Any ideas why this is not synching?
    Thanks.

I found that there was a slight time lapse from when I managed a message on my iPhone (with .Mac) to when it showed the same status on my Mail.app (.Mac). For example, I deleted a message directly from my Inbox (iPhone) and it moved to trash. But it took about 2 minutes for that same message to show up in my trash on my machine. It just sat as a new, unread message on my laptop and then suddenly during the next send/receive interval it was put into the trash (still marked as unread, though).
Have you allowed any sort of time lapse? Or are you viewing the webmail view of your .Mac account simultaneously as your actions on the iPhone?

  • IPhone does not delete emails

Hello, I set up my hotmail account as an exchange account (using m.hotmail.com). Push works great as well as when I delete a mail on my iphone it's gone in the webinterface too. When I delete mails in my hotmail account those mails still remain on my iPhone. They are not deleted and remain there - on the server they're gone. I do not want to keep both mailboxes up to date. Is this a normal behaviour? Hope you can help me out.
    Kind regards,
    Michael

you can change the time which will be synchronized in the settings of your exchange account on the iphone itself.
something like 'settings'-> 'mail, contacts...' -> your exchange account

  • Delete from Q10 does not delete from Outlook

After the 10.2.1.537 update I just did this weekend, my emails are no longer deleting from Outlook (work Exchange account). I deleted a few emails over the weekend, and when loading up Outlook this morning at work the emails are still in my Inbox.
I have made sure that 'Delete on Mailbox & Handheld' is ON and I have never had an issue with this before the update.
Any help would be greately appreciated.

I have had the same problem since the update yesterday. I have both an Outlook and Yahoo mail accounts and neither will allow me to delete from the BB Hub. I receive a popup that asks if I would always like to perform this action. No matter if I select it or not the 'Delete' button does not become accessible.
Dear Blackberry folks, how can I delete my emails??
Go into your Settings and reduce the font size to something less than 12.  Then go back to the Hub and try deleting again.  You should be able to make the selections.  If you set one or the other to default then you can change your font size back.

  • Deleting a user does not delete profile

    Hi,
I create user 'test' in the portal (Win Nt/Solaris, 3.0.8.9.1/3.0.8.9.2 - doesn't matter).
I then add 'test' to a group 'HR'.
I then delete the user 'test' from the edit user screen.
The PORTAL30.WWSEC_PERSON$ entry for 'test' remains.
I then create another user 'test'. This picks up any previous profile info such as the name (WHY?) and try to add the same user to the 'HR' group which now does not display user 'test' as a member.
This fails with the following error:
    Unexpected Error in wwsec_app_group_mgr.edit_group - ORA-00001: unique constraint (PORTAL30.WWSEC_FLAT_UK) violated (WWC-41234)
Unexpected error encountered in wwsec_api.add_user_to_list (ORA-00001: unique constraint (PORTAL30.WWSEC_FLAT_UK) violated) (WWC-41417)
I've looked in the wwsec_member$, wwsec_flat$ and wwsec_group$ tables for clues. All seems ok in there...
This is pretty crazy. Oracle- any ideas.

Check out bugs 2003485 and 2159110 - these are all related. This will affect everyone using the portal it seems!

  • Deleting the Environment does not delete Security roles

    Hi Experts,
We are using BPC NW 10 (CPMBPC 801 SP5).
I deleted some test Environments using UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT program. It cleaned the environment correctly and job was successful. I had SAP_ALL profile before executing the program.
I saw that the roles ZBPC_XXXXXXX are not deleted. Entries from tables like UJE_TEAM_AGR , UJE_USERS_AGR are gone for these environments.
But when I look at SU01 for any users these ZBPC_XXXX roles are still assigned. When I look in the role using PFCG tcode, I can see that the role is for the deleted Appset/ Environment.
Could you please let us know how to clean the roles for deleted Environments or if there is a program/ tcode to delete these roles.
    Thanks in advance.
    Reagrds,
    Sandeep Sharma

    HI Mr.Sharma   ,
There are many technical jargons i didnt understand from you post. Correct me if am wrong. Your scenario is you deleted roles but if u go the users still they are showing they belongs to these roles.... right..?.... If this is the scenario you can go for a mass user comparison with the help of basis guys.
This will sort out the issue.

  • Delete aged inventory - does not delete extended hardware inventory

Hello, I am hoping somebody can help me with customized hardware inventory
We recently extended the hardware inventory to pull data from a registry key (hkeylocalmachine\software\asset).
We used Sherry Kissinger's guide, and I can't thank her enough for posting it!
    http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/skissinger/archive/2011/07/14/configmgr2012beta2-hardware-inventory-registry-customization.aspx
We also have a custom report based off of the extended hardware inventory.
However, I noticed that the data for a client I deleted a few days ago is still in the database. My custom report can still pull data from SQL on it.
I did some research here on the forums, and found out I should set a task to delete it.
I went in to site maintenance, and set the "delete aged inventory" from 90 days to everyday, and the data is still there.
From what I have read on these forums, it is not a good idea to go in to SQL and delete the data manually.
I am not sure how to resolve this problem.
    Few questions I have :
    1) shouldn't deleting the SCCM client - delete the inventory from the database?
    2) are custom hardware inventory not included in the task "delete aged inventory"?
    3) is it safe to delete it from SQL server?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
In CM12 data is not deleted on the fly, instead it is marked as deleted and then it will be deleted a while later. See this blog post for more details.

    1) see the blog post
    2) yes they are but also see the blog post.
    3) It is never safe to do this.

  • Deleting from library does not delete from hard drive????

itunes support states when deleting from library, it should prompt to remove from hard drive. i am not getting this prompt. i cannot find a setting that changes this either. please advise
    thanks,

    It only deletes it from the hard drive if it is in the iTunes Music folder path;
Look at your itunes menu > Edit > Preferences >Advanced tab.
    "itunes music folder location"
For example, say it is set to C:/Music. If you delete a file from the itunes library list that exists in C:/Music you'll get asked if you want to keep or delete the file.
If you delete a file from the itunes library lists that exists in C:/SomeOtherFolder, it will not get deleted from the hard drive.

  • Do do i ensure email messages deleted on iPhone are also deleted on server

i have been using email on iphone4 extensively. unfortunately, messages deleted on iphone are not deleted on the server (same for gmail) and remain in the inbox (undeleted) when i check into macbook. have checked allknown settings. appreciate solution if any...

I know with my POP mail accounts when I delete on my phone it also deletes from the server. Are these POP or IMAP?
When you say "have checked all known settings" do you mean that in Settings-Mail-Account-Advanced you have selected to "delete from server when deleted from iPhone" and also "Remove Deleted Messages in one day"?
Could it be that you delete the messages from your inbox but never empty your deleted messages folder?
Other than these things it may be a setting that you need to do on your individual email servers as this should work on the iPhone.
    Hope this helps.

  • When I upload photos to iPhoto from my iPhone and then press delete from iPhone it does not delete them, how do I fix this?

When I upload photos to iPhoto from my iPhone and then press delete from iPhone it does not delete them, how do I fix this?

I am having the same problems as this person. I see that someone said there is no way to retrieve the pictures once it gets stuck in recovery mode.
Then further along someone said that there are data retrieval methods except they have something to do with jail breaking a phone.
My phone is already jail broken. It was kind of a gift from the company I work for- it was a fellow employees before. He jail broke it and then it was given to me. After I got it I activated the 4 and tried to back up everything. It didn't work and "Springboard" forced the phone into safety mode. So I could use it with the old dude's apps and my contacts. I made the mistake of using the phone for wedding dress shopping with a friend. I took tons of pictures.
After this I found out the messages I was seeing meant it was jail broken. At&t said to force restore the phone - iTunes wouldn't recognize it in safety mode. I'm an idiot and didn't realize what this meant for my pictures. It didn't work (error 1611) - thankfully. Now it is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon and USB cable picture).
Can I access that media in any way? It never suceeded restoring itself so is it still there? The phone is jail broken already so is there a method I can use?
