Photo details not transferring with Export

When attempting to Export a photo and selecting "Include Title and keywords and Location Information" -- the information is NOT transferring. Instead, I get the date of transfer. How do I maintain the original date and place the photo was taken?

Where are you seeing this "incorrect date/time"?
It sounds like you are looking at the file metadata using the finder rather than the photo metadata using a photo program ( like iPhoto or preview). A file is not a photo and the file data describes the file. The photo data is in the EXIF and IPTC fields within the photo

Photo stream not transferring with iCloud

I have a new iPad and a iPhone. The first try I got pictures to go from one to the other. Now none of it works. I have iCloud on, photo stream on, wifi on. Can not get pics from iPhone to iPad and visa versa. Very frustrating.

Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at Cloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.

I actually found under EDIT then Catalog settings / then metadata that the automatic write changes to XMP had been unchecked. Once I check this, it updated and connected all the keywords to the pictures. Now when I copy and paste the keywords show up as I can now detect them in Adobe bridge when before I couldn't see them even though they were in lightroom. . Thanks for your input.

My photos are not transferring over from iCloud.I have put my device back to factory settings and still they will not transfer over.The only device all my photos are still on is my iPhone.

If it appears to not be making any progress even though you have a strong wifi signal, sometimes turning the phone off, then back on will get things going again. Otherwise about all you can do is try restoring the backup again. If you still have the old phone, you could also try creating an iTunes backup, then restoring that backup to your new phone.

Lightroom 5: After paste settings photo is not updated with new settings applied (sometimes)

anyone have seen same bug as me? When I copy develop settings with CTRL+SHIFT+C and then paste it to another photo with CTRL+SHIFT+V, sometimes the photo is not updated/rendered with new settings applied -> and yes, I see "paste settings" step in photo "history window". So when I press Undo and then Redo key, photo will render updated.
I did try to reinstall LR 5 and optimize catalogue, problem is still there.
(Win 7 x64, latest LR 5.6)

Yes, I have similar problems. I'm guessing it's down to file size: With NEFs from my old D70 (5MB average) there was no problem, but with D610 files (30MB average) I'm getting a few problems, including 'not pasting settings'.
LR seems to struggle with larger files. Don't have a solution, unfortunately.

Photos contained in your iPhone backup cannot be restored on an iPad, but they should restore to your iPhone.

Photos app not working with photoshop.

Photos app not allowing me to add photos to photoshop. Anyone else have this problem? I can add photos from my home screen but not directly from photos app. iPhoto allowed me to drag and drop them into photoshop but not the new photos app. Any suggestions?

Everyone has this problem. Apparently developers have to write extensions to hook into the new app. http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html is the place for feature requests and feedback

Shooting data not transfering with many pictures

I am using iPhoto 6.0.6 on OS 10.6.6
I have noticed that shooting data is missing from many pictures. I can import pictures in to iphoto and some will have the shooting data while others do not. Some times the dates are not right as well, but for some of these I know I did not have the date function on my camera activated. With the shooting data what is really confusing is that while I do not see it in iphoto the same pictures viewed with Preview have the data. Some times I even have to pull dates and data viewable in Preview for the purpose of organizing my pictures in iPhoto. Why does preview read this information while iPhoto often does not.
My pictures I am downloading from a card reader on to my desktop and then using the iPhoto Import to Library function to get the folders and pictures I need in to my library.

if that it is the case, then you are not set to sync with outlook.
that's why you are not seeing the items you wanted to see transferred after the hotsync process.
your data is now transferred to the palm desktop software which is located in your desktop.
if you will open it, you can see your data in there.
to set it to outlook, try going to Start>Programs>Palm>PIM Conduit Sync>Sync with Outlook.
if that option is not there probably you are using the software from the CD.
load the CD again and it will show GUI window in which you have to option to select which application you want to manage your data, palm desktop or outlook.
you choose outlook, just follow the onscreen instructions then finish. once you are done, check the custom settings of the hotsync manager and check if it now has the word outlook on it. once it's there, you can perform another sync. just cross your fingers that you will not encounter OLERR errors when syncing because that's common to outlook synchchronization. there are are so many causes and it's very long if put in details.

ICloud Photos will not sync with iPhone4s

So, I just left the Genius bar where we needed to a due a full reset of my iPhone4s.
Before the hard reset of my phone, I had 318 photos on my iPhone photostream and 319 in camera and all were backed up to iCloud. Due to numerous reasons, Apple does not want me to restore my phone settings from the back-up version saved on my computer, so I must recreate the best I can.
The biggest issue I am having is, we checked to make sure I back up to icloud before we did a full reset of the phone. After the reset and at the Genius bar, we checked to make sure the photos were starting to download. However, only 39 photos downloaded. And now I can't get the remaining photos to sync from iCloud.
I think what happened is the phone was plugged in to the airbook for the reset, we saw photos downloading (and thought, phew that worked) unplugged the phone to complete the rest of the phone set up. And some how they stopped downloading mid stream.
If you go to iCloud back-up option it's scary...states it will DELETE all photos from iCloud and back-up with what is on your phone. In my case, I need what's in iCloud to my phone.
If no-one has a suggestion, I am going to restore my phone to my 'bad' back-up, make sure they are saved on a hard drive, and then go back to the genius bar for a full reset.
PS: Why can't I see my photos in iCloud???

After your suggestions, I did a complete restore to my iPhone4s from the backup version saved on my computer harddrive. It only yielded 295 photos.   I was able to download the photos from the back-up to my computer hardrive, so I know they are safe!! Then I called Apple and asked how do I get the 39 photos hijacked in iCloud to stream to my phone. And I was told if I was very patient, they would download to my phone overnight. And in the morning all of the photos would be there. Patience, not my strong point, but for the sake of my photos I was!
Any bets to if they are on the phone or not????
Well they are not, so I quickly learned, that another issue unbeknownst to me, is iCloud has not been working...whether this is a software, carrier or other issue, who knows. Its not working. And the 295 photos in my phone right now will not stream to iCloud!   The only photos being sent to iCloud are those from the last hard reset made in July (39 photos).
So I called Apple again, they are most, most, most confident the 37 (I deleted two yesterday) will download to my phone after I reset and establish my iPhone as new. I told the only way to delete photos from iCloud is do press the setting in the iCloud app online.
It really stinks that the 295 on my phone will not stream to iCloud. I guess in the grand scheme it appears I'll have all of my photos, but they will never be joined together in iCloud or on my iPhone.
I'll do a reset tonight and see if I can't the 37 iCloud photos to stream.
Please learn from my lesson. iCloud / photostream doesn't always work. Complete frequent hard back-ups of your phone so this too doesn't happen to you.
BTW - The Apple Genius/Supervior I spoke to gave me her contact information (email and voicemail) to contact her directly if I have any other issues. Wow, that's amazing!

My photos will not sync with itunes after recent software download - any suggestions

I recently downloaded a software update - version 4.3.3.
Now when I try to view my photos - i cannot.
I have tried to sync but an error message comes up saying the iphone cannot be synced as the required file cannot be found.
Similaneously a message appears ont he ophone stating high resolution images synced via itunes are missing and to connect to itunes and synce to view
I've contacted Apple - they say my "90 day" free support has expired (by about a week) and for assistance it will cost €25 for the phone call...
can anyone assist me please???

Photos will not sync with iphone

SInce I updated my iPhone to IOS6, and downloaded iPhoto update, I can't synce photos to my iPhone.
The check box for syncing selected photos in iTunes is grayed out.
I already tried all the options to rebuild the iPhoto database, no luck. I checked with my iPod, I can't download photos to it, either.
Versions:
OSX: 10.8.2
iTunes: 10.7
iPhoto: 9.4
IOS: 6

I called Apple support, and after a couple callbacks my issues are solved. (Or at least worked around)
It was definitely the ampersand "&" issue in iPhoto.
For now, you can't have an "&" in any of your album, slideshow or event names.
In addition, you can't select any music for slideshows that has an "&" anywhere in the songe title, artist, album, etc. If you have a good sized music library and search for "&", you may be surprised how often this character shows up.
If you have ever included music for a slideshow that has a "&", it works best if you select different music from the default music library that comes with iPhoto.
The Apple Support guy told me that an iPhoto update will be out in the coming weeks that addresses this issue, but he did not have firm date.
I was very impressed by the professionalism, knowledge, and clear instructuions I received from Apple Support. They definitely know how to work with customers.

Photo Albums not working with iPhone/iWeb/MobileMe combination

OK, I find this surprising given this is an all Apple deal here...
When I create Photo Albums and photo pages the pages don't display any of the images on my iPhone... Works OK on my Mac's Safari, works OK on Firefox... iPhone, nothing, it's like the Javascript they use to create the photo albums doesn't do it's thing on the iPhone version of Safari.
And apparently if I leave my iPhone on my desk while I type this message with the browser window open to the page with no images it spontaneously combusts... er... I mean it reboots the iPhone (not just a Safari crash).
Apple... How do I see my Mobile Me Web Site on my iPhone?

The photo pages and MMe albums require java script support to view and iPhoto doesn't have that as yet as far as I know.

Zero byte files not transferred with FTP Adapter

All,
I am seeing that zero byte files are not being transferred using FTP Adapter (SFTP type). Is there a known bug around this? Please respond if anybody have seen this behavior and resolved this issue. I am using 10.1.3.3.0

I still have doubt if that is the case. When I tested the same from 10.1.3.3.1 windows platform and FTP being windows OS zero bytes files transferred OK. Do you think this is to do with OS or SOA version?

Epson Stylus Photo 1280 not working with OS X 10.4.3

I recently updated to Tiger OS 10.4.3 and my Epson Stylus Photo 1280 no longer prints. I've attempted to delete and add it to the Printer List, but get the following error - "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer." Along with that it reads "successful-ok-too-many-events."
As well as this, (sorry, possibly off topic) I can no longer download files via Safari, consistantly getting the error "mounting failed." This also occurs when I try to use Software Update as well. I get the message, "Unexpected error occured."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The last Gutenprint release was in July 2012 as version 5.2.9. Therefore, it has not been compiled or tested especially for Mavericks.
Suggest you reset/remove the Epson printer entry in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Then re-add it. Leave your printer power on and connected to the Mac. Perform a software update, this may also offer the Epson Printer Drivers v2.15.1 for OS X (released Sept 11, 2013). This download supports your printer model.
