Photo doesn't seem to do albums ?

hi, i transfer several folders of photos from my LapTop but when the photos are in PHOTO on the iPad they are all in the same Folder/Album, which is a blooming nuisance. how can i make more albums with a folders contents in each ?.
To transfer the Photos across i am using an App called Photo Sync which does it wirelessly, i suppose you are going to tell me i have to use iTunes to send the photos across, but am i correct in thinking that iTunes will lump them all in one big album as well !!.

I am assuming you are using a windows PC.
You have to connect it to your PC then open windows explorer create a root folder you want the photos stored in and add sub folders in this main folder.
Each subfolder will end up as an album on your iPad.
Then your iPad will show up in windows explorer also so move the photos from the iPad into the folder/album that you want them into.
Open iTunes (if it isn't already open) and select your iPad in the list on the left side and select the photo tab in the center section and select to sync to selected folders then browse to the root folder you created and make sure you select the include sub folders. You may have to hit apply before all of the folders show up then you must select each sub folder to sync. If you take pictures on your iPad they will default to the camera album so you have to go through this process and move them with windows explorer to get them into the album you want. If you want to add another album then use windows explorer to create another sub folder and then make sure you select it in iTunes and Sync (for some reason you must select all new folders the first time you sync them. iTunes will remember it after that)
Once you do this then sync your iPad and the photos should be in the album/folder on your iPad.
I know it sounds like a real pain but once you get it set up it is not to hateful.
This is one of my complaints about the iPad because Apple should have made this easier.

HI, I have a Canon Pixma MG5250 printer and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto. All my photos are in iPhoto but I can't access them when the printer's 'photo print' box comes up. Any suggestions? thanks

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8
I now have a Canon Pixma Printer MG 5250 and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto, where all my folders of photos are in the computer.
All other aspects of the printer such as scanning and printing documents are working. When I open the printer's
'photo print' box on my Mac, it cannot access iPhoto.
I would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions as to what to do.

If you want to print a photo that's in your library you should do so from iPhoto. Select the photo, crop to the size you want to print and type Command+P to start the print process. In the Print window select the paper size and print size, printer and then click on the Print button.

Automatic album info doesn't seem to work

Hi. I have the setting 'Automatically download missing album artwork' checked but itunes does seem to do this. I am on-line and logged into the itunes store. Example: I have Angie Stone Mahogany Soul Cd. When I import the cd it just imports tracks by number and not by title. When I add the title and artist myself the above auto info option still doesn't work. Only when I right click the track and 'Get Album Artwork' does it work!!
This doesn't seem to be very 'automatic' and it works perfectly well in Windows media!!
Please tell me what I need to do to sort this. Thanks

Shared photo Stream - saved imaged doesn't seem to seemlessly update on all my devices

I have recently updated both my iphone 5s and my ipad to ios 8
I saved an image from a shared photo stream on my iphone (via the save image button) - on my iphone this is in my recent items and in my photos (collections/years). This however doesn't seem to stream across to my ipad and I thought it should. To see it in my ipad photos I have to save it on my ipad too which seems a little crazy. If I delete this from my iphone, all I get is a delete option, not a delete with the warning that this will also delete from my photo stream, so I am pretty certain this isn't streaming! I know I could just view this via the share photo stream, but it is a photo I wish to keep forever. Anywork arounds apart from what I am already doing?
Is this a bug in ios8? I have never had a problem doing it this way before and always managed to get this in my photo stream before

How can I publish photos from my ipad to NEW album in my gallery

I am traveling overseas with only my iPad. I need to upload photos from the iPad to my Galley, but not to any of the existing albums.
I need to create a new album for these photos.
There doesn't seem to be a way to add new albums to my gallery when using the iPad. This limits the iPad's usefulness for me for travel purposes as I shoot a lot of photos and need/want to share as I go along. (obviously, if I'd known about this before, I would have set up a "travel photos" album before I left my home computer.)
Does someone have some advice for me?

i have exactly the same question - I bought the ipad specifically for this purpose, and now find that I have created all sorts of problems for myself. I have bought the camera connection kit to upload everything, with the intention of clearing the sd and flash cards afterwards, but only to find out that i "shouldn't rely on that, what if something happens to your ipad when travelling, you'll have lost all of your photo data"
I asked in the apple store what I should do - answer " take a laptop with you which is synched to your itunes and upload your photos......." NOT quite what I wanted to hear - why on earth would I travel with a laptop and an ipad?

Saving tabs doesn't seem to work anymore for me in 4.0.1

Since I've installed FireFox 4.0.1 the saving of tabs doesn't seem to work anymore. When I press exit I only receive the notification "are you sure you want to close x tabs?". When firefox or my computer crashes the tabs are saved, but when I try to exit myself I can't. Can someone tell me how to solve this?

Hi, I have a similar problem. When playing music, the screensaver has stopped working. Instead all I get is a white screen. I have checked all the settings and they are ok. The photos show and the albums show will work. But as soon as I switch back to slideshow I get the white screen back. It is even like this in 'Preview'.
Have you solved the problem now. If so, how?
Anyone else affected? I took a new software update to the Apple TV two days ago. Could this be the problem?

How do I add photos to books from another project / album

I'm on the latest iPhoto 9.4.1 & OS 10.8.2
The issue I'm having is,
I have an event hilighted and I create a book. Good so far.
But I can't add to this book from outside of this event, surely I must be able to navigate to ANY photo within iPhoto to add to the book.
When I have photos selected on the right hand panel I can only select "all photos in project" "placed and unplaced photos" and "one recent album" and "last 12 months months"
If I must have all photos within an event or album PRIOR to first creating the book I see this as a shortcoming.

DUH...
worked it out, while in other events I drag photos to where the newly created book is, ie on the LEFT pane.
I must say this doesn't seem very Apple intuitive

Front Row: Photo Doesn't Play Subfolders on new iMac!

There doesn't seem to be a discussion group dedicated to Front Row but I'm having a problem with the Photo section so I guess this is the closest!
When viewing the Library, Albums or Folders in the 'root' directory of iPhoto through Front Row, everything works fine.
BUT
If I try to view an Album or Folder in a sub-directory, the contents of that Album is not displayed. Instead the contents of which ever 'root' Album was last viewed is displayed instead.
This is easy for someone to check, can anyone with a new iMac dupliacte this issue?

Mini dvi to s-video/composite adapter doesn't seem to work?

basically i'm trying to hook my rather new 2.53 ghz mac mini to my tv, which basically has rca inputs. so, having seen several laptops hooked to this tv as simply as using an s-video to composite adapter, i figured it would be as simple as getting the mini dvi to composite adapter and i'd be good. well, for some reason this doesn't seem to do anything. the other weird thing is that when i hook the cable from the composite adapter to the tv, i get a buzz out of the speakers as the connection is being made. why is a video signal having anything to do with the audio? plugging my playstation 2 into the same input works fine. why the difference?

That's the setup I've used. Works great for video and photos, but webpage text can be difficult to read.
I used the yellow composite input rather than the s-video. My old tv is inside an “entertainment center” type tv stand and is so friggin heavy, it’s a pain in the axx to move, so I just used the composite plug on the front of my tv. Since the Mac mini is sitting in front of the tv it works great:-)

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10. Please can you tell me my options? Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application. What should I do? How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750. Many thanks, Adam.

Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.
