Photo effect - pop art

Has anyone been able to apply the effects from photo booth - namely pop art - to photos in iPhoto?
Alternatively, has anyone been able to import a photo into photo booth and apply any of those effects?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You have more luck posting in the iSight forum, as PhotoBooth has nothing to do with iPhoto. That said, try delete the Photobooth preference file the home / library / preferences folder

  • Photo booth pop art

I opened photo booth up recently to take some pictures and noticed that my pop art/ andy warhol style effect wasn't working. Instead of having the 4 different colored pictures, there is only the one in the top left corner, and the other for are just yellow. What should I do to fix this? This effect used to work fine, but suddenly stopped working.

If you can't get Software Update to work or can't install software after using this Russian update of Photo Booth, then see this thread...

  • Photo Booth "Pop Art" isn't right

I noticed today that the "Pop Art" setting isn't working properly. When I try to use it, only one photo shows up in the upper left corner instead of four (the "Andy Warhol" effect).
I've dumped the cache and the Photo Booth preferences.
    Any other suggestions?

    Hi,
    There is this fix listed

  • Photo Boot "Pop Art" question...

I am aware that within XCode Tools there's a utility called Core Images Fun House that replicates some of the photo booth filters on regular photos (and then some more...) But any of you guys have figured the way to exactly replicate one of the frames of the pop art filter produced by photo booth? Any pointer would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, CEB

I have personally experienced an number of bad issues with 10.4.7, mostly related to sleep issues. I have gone back to 10.4.6 and all my issues (including loss of pop art) are corrected.
Hope that helps! If so, please mark message as helpfull or solved so others may benefit as well.

  • Photo Booth Pop Art still broken...

... in 10.4.8. I guess they don't know how to fix it.

Go to this post here (if you're slightly adventurous) for a solution. It works like a charm.

  • Pop Art Help/Photo Booth

In my photo booth, pop art is all yellow except for the top left box. The remaining 3 are just yellow, it shows nothing but a block of yellow. What is going on?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, german_girl38
We will need some more info to have a chance at determining "what is going on". However, here are a couple of things you can try that might fix your problem even if you never find out what was wrong.
First, restart your Mac and test again with no other apps but Photo Booth running.
If your problem continues after the restart, try all relevant suggestions from http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93240
If Photo Booth is the ONLY application that does not work correctly with iSight in any user account you try, use the following method to determine whehter your Photo Booth preferences are corrrupted:
    • Quit Photo Booth if it is running.
    • Throw away your com.apple.photobooth.plist file. It is located in your
Home > Library > Preferences folder.
    • Launch Photo Booth again and test to see if the problem persists.
If your problem persists after all relevant troubleshooting, post back which apps that you tried with iSight work and which do not. If you get ANY error messages with those that do not work, please include them EXACTLY in your response.
Also, tell us whether the behavior is EXACTLY the same when you try the same apps in another user account(s).
Additionally, please tell us which Mac and Mac OS are you using.
We will offer more specific suggestions based on the details in your response.

  • Photo Booth amputed Pop Art effect

Everything just run fine on my iMac G5 iSight PowerPC, updated to Mac OS X 10.4.7 two days ago… But then opening Photo Booth I discovered that the Pop Art effect is much more less Pop than before: it displays ONLY one rectangle the red one, but all three others are just missing. they don't display, and Pop Art effect doesn't show a proper functionnality. I wonder if you encountered the same minor but annoying problem.
Is it a case of legacy with Andy Warhol children?
    Imac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi talking head,
Photobooth is related to internal iSight computers which include Intels. It is thre only machines it comes on.
The FAQ although written for iChat reinstall tells you (if you change the items you are looking for) how to extract anything from the Install disk.
I was suggesting that you use this information to do this.
I was not suggesting that you reinstall iChat but should apply the method described to reinstall Photobooth.

  • Pop Art Effect

Could anyone please tell me if I can get the pop art effect, or download an application (the same that is found in the photo booth) or can I transport a photo from iphoto to the photo booth to get this effect onto my photo's?? Thanks Jo

There's no way to put a photo into PhotoBooth. You may be able to achieve what you seek with an app like Compositor or Photoshop Elements

  • When printing from iphoto all photographs ar printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen

When printing from iphoto all photographs are printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Damaged preference files can cause a varitety of problems which you wouldn't think it could. Deleting and regenerating the pref file is one of the basic fixes to try.

  • Does anyone know how to creat the Pop Art effects of Warhol in PSE 11 ?

I believe it was PSE 9 or 10 and I took one B&W graphic and applied a plugin or filter and the result was four copies of the graphic in these wild Neon colors all in one frame ... Now I have misplaced the final work and am unable to recreate with PSE 11 ... Any one know what I am talking about and how to recreate the effect

  • Photobooth pop art filter problem

    Hi all
My problem is the Pop Art effect shows only one square, not the usual four.
    Tried trashing preferences, didn't work.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Michael
Restating your Mac may fix the problem. If not, repair permissions and try again. (Click here if you need help.)
If neither helps, and if yours is an "iMac G5 iSight",(Click here if you need help identifying your model.) you can use the software install discs that came with your iMac G5 to reinstall the Photo Booth application. If you need help, see page 55 of the iMac G5 User’s Guide that came with your iMac. Repair permissions again after you reinstall Photo Booth.
If you have a different model or if reinstalling does not fix the problem, tell us what model of Mac you use when you post back.

  • Pop Art function is acting weird (not really acting normal)

On my isight camera (it is built in) pop art is acting weird! You know how there are 4 different coloured sections. Not all 4 are appearing. Only the upper left one is.... Why is that? Please help!
    - mariah

    Hello again, mariah
Unless you erase your hard disk as part of your reinstallation, your data files should be safe on your iMac's startup disk. Whether you erase or not, your data files will be safe on your backup copy, so be sure you have a good backup! If you do not have a current backup, NOW is the time to backup your important files. Having at least one good backup copy of expensive or irreplaceable information is good insurance regardless of whether you decide to reinstall OS X.
Sorry about the Leopard reference. You can reinstall the Photo Booth that came with your Tiger version of OS X using the same methods I mention above except that they will be in your Tiger disk.
Although you may decide that you want to reinstall your Mac OS, you do NOT need to do so to reinstall Photo Booth and your OS X bundled applications. If you have decided to Reinstall your Mac OS, carefully consider which method you want to use to reinstall.
If you use the "Archive and Install" (A&I) method and choose A&I's "Preserve user and network settings" option, your data will be preserved and you will save significant time versus other reinstall methods.
Unless you have already tried reinstalling only the Photo Booth application or are having problems with more than one of your iMac's functions, you should consider reinstalling only the Photo Booth app first. Reinstalling only the Photo Booth app may resolve your problem without the time and effort required for reinstalling your Mac OS. See the "Reinstalling the Software That Came With Your iMac G5" chapter of the Users Guide manual that came with your iMac if you need help on how to reinstall the apps only. Alternatively, you could use the Pacifist method I mentioned earlier with the Tiger disk that came with your iMac.
If all this is more than you want to contemplate merely so you can use Photo Booth, you might rather consider installing and using one of these Photo Booth alternatives: Funny Photographer or Freak Show.
