Photo Elelments 4.0 "How To" palette contents missing

I recently installed Photoshop Elements 4.0. The problem is that my How-To palette is there but empty and the navigation buttons are disabled. I saw this was a problem listed by another member and tried the fixes mentioned... deleting the preference lists, uninstalling and reinstalling, even reinstalling under a different user. Nothing has worked in bring back the How To palette. Does anyone have any suggestions? The Adobe help forum is not very useful.

Hi. I think that was me. I wish I had a new idea for you, but it sounds like you've done what I did. What if you do it in this order:
repair permissions
uninstall PE 4.0, including deleting all related preference files (use Spotlight)
look for any plug-ins, move to folder on the desktop (for later)
restart Mac
install PE 4.0
repair permissions
restart Mac
launch PE 4.0
[if How To palette works, add back any plug-ins one at a time]
This may be overkill with all the permissions and restarts, but they won't hurt anything and there's a small chance they might help. If this doesn't work, then I'm stumped again. We may have to wait for Barbara Brundage to check in with us. She's the PhotoShop Elements guru.

If the restore process is done, or seems to have stalled, and it didnt' restore your camera roll photos, all you can do is try restoring the backup again. If it's still restoring, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tap Stop Restoring at the bottom. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens again and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts.
Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup. You might want to move it closer to your wifi router for the strongest signal possible.

The way I would do it would be to crop the image so that it only displays what you want, then export that image and specify the dimensions. You will have to experiment with different export sizes to determine what would be acceptable for your situation. You might be more forgiving or more demanding than anyone who would venture to answer that question. That's the nice part about digital photography; you can experiment to your heart's content until you get the result you are looking for.

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

Two questions.
Let say I have used BufferedReader(new FileReader(c:/java/MyText.txt)) to read from MyText.txt file. I want to know how to load content of this file (every line describe each photo in my photo-set) into a Vector? And how to associate lines of MyText.txt as an elements of the Vector?

Have you failed to use the device as designed?
If using the iPhone as designed, contacts are synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Pictures taken with the device would be copied off to the computer on a regular basis.
If you have been using the device as designed, simply sync the content back.
If you have not been using the device as designed, you can try restoring from the most recent backup. However, if that does not restore them, they are gone.

When I sync with itunes, the photos sections says I am syncing with my iphone, so I assume that anything I physically delete from my iphone should not be showing up again. Right?

Is that really how sync works?
If you read this, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236 and this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314 they don't actually make how sync works very clear. I had thought that syncing my device to itunes would allow I tunes to copy what was currently on my phone so that I could restore that information when needed ie if your phone dies and you need to do a clean install of the iOS system, you always have what is currently on your phone saved in Itunes.
Specifically reading this:

There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer and choose to delete items after import.
Delete photos and videos from your device manually:
Open the Photos application and open the Camera Roll.
Tap the Action button.
Tap each photo to select it.
Tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
What you seem to be saying is that iTunes saves every contact, message, photo etc and when you click sync, it reuploads things that you deleted? This seems like it should work the opposite. Make a mirror image of my iPhone on my computer, not make a mirror image of my computer onto my iPhone. You delete things for a reason.

Are you using the "motion path" behavior? If so just duplicate it and drag it down the timeline to where you want it to start. Trim it to end at the end of the project. The gap you leave in the timeline between the two behaviors is your hold time. Not sure why you are using a camera unless you have a behavior on the camera.If you are using keyframes just set two keyframes at the same position values in the inspector for the hold time.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you are using the same ID as a primary iCloud login, then yes she can see your photos in photostream if you have it enabled.
You can use the same ID for iTunes so you can share all your purchases, but you need different ID's for iCloud.
Unfortunately, the mess caused by sharing the ID, will need to be sorted manually, once you both have your own ID's.

Now, how to find CONTENT of each of these two constraints?The CONSTRAINT_TYPE tells you the sort of constraint: P=PRIMARY KEY, U=UNIQUE, R=FOREIGN KEY and C=CHECK. Only Check constraints have any content as such and you'll find that in the SEARCH_CONDITION. Note that this is a LONG column, so you may need need to SET LONG 5000 to see it in SQL*Plus.
