Photo event sorting on new iPad

I've got 13,000 + photos across 100+ folders/events on my iMac/new iPad and all the folders/events were all in alphabetical order; Andrew's wedding, Dad's birthday, Frank's house, House extension, New Year 2007 etc etc, but recently the events are now not in A-Z order on my iPad. They are still in A-Z order in iPhoto on my iMac, but not on my iPad. It may be since the recent update to iOS 6, but has anyone any idea whether it will be update/resolved in the next iOS6 update or is there anything I can do? Thanks, Simon.

***UPDATE***
Done some more investigation on this and the problem only happens when you select photos that have been taken with the iPad (Camera Roll) and NOT if you have synced photos from your PC/MAC.
A very odd bug though... why would they be reversed from the Camera Roll and not synced photos?

How do I get my entire photo stream to my new iPad. I use my ICloud and some of them showed up but most if them did not. I am trying to sync the photos from my phone to an iPad 1 and iPad mini.

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

    Hi Jose Sam,
It sounds like some of your photos are over 30 days old.

I see different photos in My Photo Stream on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they are older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so all devices may not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream.
You may want to sync the older photos through iTunes to get them on your new iPad mini.

  • Photo events displayed randomly on iPad

I have two concerns regarding the Pictures App on my iPad. I sync my iPad to my iMac, and it is set up to sync all photos, events etc from iPhoto on the Mac.
    1. If I tap Albums>Events from Mac, all my events from iPhoto show up, but they show up in a randomly order. In iOS7 they were sorted by date som that the mewest events were at the bottom. Now the events are all mixed up. Is there a way to solve this?
    2. If I tap Pictures, everythin is OK if I look in "Years". In Collections an Moments the newest pictures are duplicated. Why? Pictures are not duplicated on my iPhone. Both iPhone and iPad sync to the same iMac and the same iPhoto library.

Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects. You can check to see if the new library includes all of your photos.
NOTE:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Have you read my reply to your other thread : https://discussions.apple.com/message/18373620#18373620 ?
For Facebook try one of the facebook apps e.g. the 'official' Facebook app
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 . You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - not including photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the iPad.
(And don't type in capitals, it is considered SHOUTING so people are less likely to reply, and it makes it harder to read)

  • How do I transfer contacts notes and photos from iPhone to new ipad

How do I transfer content from iPhone to iPad

    Hi Sacha' !
Thank you for your answer to my ipad question.
I was able to transfer my contacts, notes, calendar . . . etc., once I connected to Yahoo.
The info you gave me would be good, except that I don't use iCloud as it filled up the free 5GB on my iPhone
and then kept asking me to "buy more storage".
One day I may try to utilize the cloud, but now that I seem to have all my info from my iPhone transferred to my new iPad
    I think I am good.
    Thanks again !

  • Synch photo Events between iPhoto and iPad.

I synch my iPhoto Events with my iPad. With one Event, many of the photos I have deleted from the iPhoto Event still show in the iPad Event. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Applologies, I have since discovered the 'export' function in the file menu, so I've solved my problem.

  • Moving MBA photos from TS to new iPad?

    Hi,
I have backed up my Macbook Air on TS as usual. But, now I have sold my MBA and bought iPad Air. Can I somehow move photos onto iPad from TS? Or any great ideas how to do that? Manually somehow?

By TS do you mean a Time Capsule??
Are the photos in iphoto library? If so you have a big problem.
If they are inside a Time Machine backup you have a stupendous problem. It is simply impossible from iOS to recover TM backups.
AFAIK you cannot move iphoto library to ipad. You should have exported your photos to standard format that is readable by app on the ipad.
You can share iphoto library but it requires some home sharing setup via itunes on a computer.. or an app that is loaded on the computer. eg
    http://photoscopeapp.com/
So tell us what format exactly the photos are in.. and I just hope you are not going to say iphoto!!!
Note.. there are one zillion apps and I have no idea what works and what doesn't.. you are better asking this question in the iphoto area if the pictures are in iphoto library.
    http://appcrawlr.com/ios-apps/best-apps-iphoto-library
Now the second part.. is the library or even the folder of photos inside a TM backup??
Because if that is the case.. borrow a Mac or buy your MBA back and start over. You cannot retrieve anything from Time Machine without Time Machine. TM does not run on iOS. You cannot access files inside the TM backup... nor can you even restore the photo you want if you have them in iphoto library.. you must have exported them first.
If you have done all the above already.. you have raw photos direct from the camera.. or exported from iphoto sitting on the Time Capsule.. just install filebrowser to copy the files.. what app can then open them I don't know but with the zillion apps there has to be something for everything.
