Photo export to Facebook

I've problems to export my photos on my Facebook account. IPhoto is running and running, there is no end. Where is the problem?? Has someone an idea?

It's a problem with the current iPhoto. Until a fix is provided use the workaround that works for most:
export the photos to a folder on the Desktop and upload to FB with your browser.
Also you can check the two solved topics at the right under More Like This to see if their soultion will work for you.

What version of iPHoto? In later versions you simply upload to Facebook from iPhoto and it handles it - in any version export the photos (file menu ==> export) and use one of the size options (maximum pixel size, reduced quality etc

In Lightroom 4, is it possible to change the resolution when exporting to Facebook?

Is it possible to change the resolution when exporting a photo to Facebook using either the regular plugin or Jeffrey Friedl's plugin? I can't seem to do it; I only have control over the image dimensions, not the resolution and the dimensions, as you can see in the screen shots below:

I can't find the option to control the resolution when I try to export to Facebook. Before I got Lightroom 4, I would create whole new low-resolution files of images I wanted to post online using Photoshop. The image size settings I would use are a longest edge of 10 inches at 72ppi, and I would like to continue doing this. If I can only set the longest side to 720 pixels (I can't even seem to set the longest edge to an inches value - I can only choose a pixels value) and not change the resolution from 300ppi to 72ppi, then my photos' longest edge will only be less than 3 inches long (right?). Thus, I really want to be able to upload low-resolution photos to Facebook via Lightroom with the ability to change both the resolution and the image dimensions. Any idea how to do it without having to export to my hard drive first? Thanks!

You can set it to whatever you like, and it makes no difference. Most of the time (depending on how you saved it), it will still open as "72".
When you save an image for web, the resolution is usually stripped from the file. It's simply not there anymore. That's probably what happens in the Lr facebook module, and that's why there's no entry for it.
But when you open that image somewhere else, that default of 72 ppi is assigned. Most apps need to know what to do with a file if asked to print it out. So there is a default, and that's usually 72, mostly by convention. With that default ppi, it prints out at a comparable size to what you see on screen at 1:1 display.
And when people see that, they think "hey, web images are 72 ppi". But they're not - that figure is just inserted there by the opening application.

Exporting to Facebook - why can't I use the old plug-in?

It's nice that iPhoto '09 tried to help us with the Facebook exporter built-in. But why couldn't they make it useful? Why can't I tag people before I upload them? Why can't I upload photos to an existing album? I wouldn't mind so much, but they seemed to have disabled the existing (working) plug-in that was available. So now I have to export the pictures to my desktop and upload them through Facebook. Hmm...doesn't seem too user-friendly.

Export to Facebook

Hi there,
I have Bridge CS5 (v. 4.0.2.1) running on Windows 7 Ultimate.
On my laptop, I have the option to "Export to Facebook" (along with a few others, photoshop.com, flikr, harddrive).
On my desktop, I do not have this option, only "Export to Harddrive".
I've gone out to Adobe Exchange, and didn't see a module for it.
How did this option get enabled?
Follow up question, when I use "Export to Facebook" it doesn't recognize any of my photo albums. I can create a new one and place photos in it. But when I return to add more, it's not listed; requireing me to create a new album.
Doesn't seem correct, but maybe that's v.1.0 design?
Anyhow, I would love some assistance on this - and I didn't see anything about this so far on the forums, except one item in the Macintosh section (with no answers).

Other services except "hard drive" only available when you are installed CS5 with "North America" or "French Canadian" language option.

Export to Facebook FAN PAGE

Does anyone know how to upload photos to a facebook fan page? All I can do is upload to a profile and not a fan page.

There is no iPhoto interface to anthing on Facebook except your photos on your profile page - for anything else export the photo (file men ==> export) and upload using the normal Facebook web upload interface

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

Since upgrading to the newest version of ios 8, I can no longer share my photos on facebook. I have tried going to setting-photos, but the facebook app does not show up for me to change the settings. Any suggestions?

when you opened the shared library with the newer version of iPhoto (iPhoto '11) you were given a warning that your library would be converted and could not be used by older versions - you clicked ok to go ahead - there is no updo available - either upgrade to iphoto '11 of the MBP or load your backup of the iPhoto '09 library on it - older versiopns of i{Photo can not read newer libraries

Can't select photo stream and Facebook in iphoto

I don't know why, on the side of iPhoto where we can select the library, we got a section call WEB, where we got our Photo Stream and Facebook account.
I don't know why but I can't select those two facebook account and Photo Stream to see and manage the photos that are in those section. I click on it and nothing happen.
But I can share with the share button at the bottom to those sections
Can someone can tell me why I can't select those sections?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Kudos! I too am frustrated about this change to my personal page. I also know Apple is not to blame. I also manage a page for the company I work for using pages app. And that app is UN affected and I can choose from any photo stored on my phone (4). I do keep them seperate so I can keep a professional aspect for the company. But if you want your personal page linked to your public or work page, this maybe the work around your looking for.

Syncing with photos already in Facebook?

Installed iPhoto '09 without a hitch (over 15,000 photos in library — Faces took a while, but works great!) and now just wondering if there's a way to deal with albums/photos already on Facebook? The new features in iPhoto are really great, but just wondering if there's a way to deal with things already uploaded to FB from iPhoto pre-'09? For example, I recently uploaded a new album of 20 photos — I want to upload some new photos to that album using this new feature — does that mean my iPhoto Facebook album will be out of Sync with the album I'm uploading the images to? It'd be nice to be able to some how "sync" things up between the two?

I agree, this is annoying, I wish I could sync all the albums I've already created in FB.
I do have a work-around, it's not the best, but it works.
I choose one photo from my iPhoto library, preferably one that is not already on FB. I then create an album named exactly the same as the album on FB. I then upload the photo and it creates a new album.
For example, if I have a "FAMILY" album on FB, in iPhoto I create an album named "FAMILY" adding the one pic and upload that one picture, now I have two albums on FB named "FAMILY".
I then go to FB and in the original FB "FAMILY" album I choose to Move all the photos to the new iPhoto created "FAMILY" album. Upon completion I delete the old FB created "FAMILY" album and then in iPhoto I sync the album and all photos are there.
Not optimal, but it works until Apple fixes this... which they better...

Copying photo albums from facebook to iphoto?!

I got my first mac yesterday and am having trouble getting photo albums from facebook into my iPhoto's. I have tried dragging them and copying them but its not working! Can anyone help?!

Photos on the facebook app are not downloading. After double tap, in the app, nothing happens. In Safari, often the message "access denied" pops up (also on ipad). Location services are set to on. Anyone else experiencing this?

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to use automatic downloads : on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) tick the Music tickbox. That will only apply to future purchases.
For music that has already been bought you might be able to redownload it on that computer via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage

Photos and new facebook albums and ios6

I have an iphone 4s. I recently updated to to ios 6 and now i have lost my capability to upload new albums from my photos to the facebook app. i have deleted and added the app back, but the plus sign only shows up when I want to add photos to an existing album, not create a new one. I was able to do this before the update, but havent been able to since. Is anyone else expereicing this problem? Help!!

Thank you so much for replying. However, I looked at the trackpad system preference and it does not give me the option, I believe, of turning off rotate, pinch zoom, etc. in the two finger section. I tend to rest my thumb on the trackpad so I can click or double click using my thumb. Photoshop requires many actions also that require you to use both fingers at once. That's where I am running into so much trouble. Any other suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!
