Photo file names Deleted by iPad

Asked this 3 months ago, but got no response. Can't understand what iPad does to photo file names. 1. Can't see photo file name in albums/events. 2. when iPad emails photo, the file that is received is called only La Foto (the photo, my wife uses spanish). If I send her a photo with a name I assigned (date, camera-assigned number, file size), and she saves it to an album and sends it back, the file name I sent her is gone, and photo is simply La Foto. How can you organize or keep track of photos, w/o info such as name, date, camera number, etc.? And why does iPad remove specifically created names? Nothing in Manual or Settings on this.
We've an iPad, and also a MB Air and iMac.

Thanks for your time doing the check.
I'm sorry that currently I don't have the similiar resource to do the same.
I guess that it might be the difference caused by different iOS / idevice.
I think that I'll check and modify the app after I got iOS 6 devices.
Thanks for your comments and your time.
Thanks for your reply, and I hope you get a more recent device soon for Father's/Mother's Day or whatever!  I'm a little confused as to what the situation is.  According to w'pedia the iOS 5 that you have does have photostream, but I don't know if it supports multiple streams (which you create by touching the + when in photostream).  Is the problem that your version does not support multiple streams so you can't test the issue I raised, or is it that it does support multiple streams and works correctly with iOS 5 but not with iOS 6?
PS: I've checked, and find my iPod has the same limitation as I mentioned above with the iPad.

  • My iPad is filling up my PowerBook hard disk. Where can I find the sync Photo file to delete it ?

    Hi
My iPad is filling up my PowerBook hard disk. Where can I find the sync Photo file to delete it ?
Copying over photos via iTunes/iPhoto - there is a back-up file created (I can not turn it off) and it's now filling my PB-Pro.
So I need to find it and trash it and start over.
    - Where is it located ?
    - What is it's name ?

    1. No.
    2. Yes.
    3. Some apps for dealing with duplicates in iPhoto
    iPhoto Library Manager
    Duplicate Annihilator
    Decliner

  • Backed up photos that were deleted from iPad, where are they?

Backed up photos that were deleted from iPad, where are they? Cannot find on pc or iTunes.

X2 on King_Penguin's reply, however, those files are hidden by default.   I'm on Windows 7.  You'd click on your "Start", click on "Computer", click on "Organize" up on the top of the window and click on "Folders and Search Options".  Check off the "Show all Folders" under Navigation pane.  That will show all the hidden files.  Then you can follow the directions King wrote above.    Sorry, if you have a Mac, I don't know how to help you navigate to where the "Folders and Search Options" is.  Google should be a good resource.
It's pretty simple once you find it.  I was moving my back up file from my lap top to my desk top because I wanted to begin syncing my ipad and iphone to my desk top.   Once I unhid the files, I copied it to a thumb drive, uploaded it to my desk top and voila.    Just make sure when you are done you check the box to hide the files again.  You don't want to leave them vulnerable.
    Hope this helps.

  • HOW DO I IMPORT PHOTOS BY FILE NAME TO THE IPAD 2

I need to organize my photos in my ipad by the file names that i have on my computer. I use a windows computer.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    See this article:
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
(the title says iPod, but it should work for iPad as well)
You need first to connect your iPad to your PC for the sync options to be available:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Click the Photos tab.
    Choose "Sync photos from."

  • Photo File Names Reset After Every Synch with iPhoto

    I have iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.0.1
This only started happening in the last couple weeks: every time I synch-and-delete my photos with iPhoto (6.0.6), it resets the "file name" counter on the photos I take on the phone. I've been using this version of iPhoto and synch-and-delete as my photo saving method since I got the phone and before it would always remember the last photo number taken. Now I am ending up with dozens of photos in my library called "IMG_0001" etc, which is very frustrating when I want to move photos anywhere as a batch.
Is this a new "feature" for iOS4? I can't find any settings that could be causing it on the phone.

I noticed the same problem today when I tried to export my iphone pictures from iphoto into a folder with other iphone pictures from last week.
    I have an iphone 4 running 4.0.2

  • An App to rename photo file names to date taken?

Does anyone know of an app that automatically names the photo's filename to the date the photo was taken?
    Thanks

Photos on an iPad do not have meaningful file names.   If you synced Photos through iTunes their file names are turned into number sequences (ie img_95040.jpg).  There is nothing to search for that would be of any relevance, hence no to application really do this that I know of.

  • Lost Photo after changing photo file name

Due to duplicate file name, e.g. P1002534.jpg in my photos, I was trying to rename some of them to a different name. I did that through Finder and other tools (e.g. Renamer) but apply directly to /iphoto libray/original or /iphoto libray/modified libraries.
After that I find that the thumbnail of the photo is still in iphoto but cannot display the photo itself.
I suspect that is because I modified the file name directly and not using iphoto function, the index is all screw up.
How can I recover from this, is there a reindex function or do I have to delete the iphoto library and then re-import the photos for the whole library again.
    Appreciate for any advice.

You are correct - it is extremely important that you never make any changes of any sort to the structure or content of the iPhoto library - it is a SQL database and there are no user servicabe parts in it - and there never is a need to go into it

Best way is to load your backup from before you made this mistake
If you do not have a backup you must - people, software and computers fail and when they do you lose things if you do not have a backup
If you can put the library back exactly likeit was in every respect that will sork (usually that is not possible)
short of a backup or putting it back you must start over using the original folder from your library and importing those original photos into a new library

  • How can I change a video file name on the ipad only?

I'm filming videos on an SD card and then downloading them onto my ipad. I need to change the File names from generic to personal names for email purpose. Is there a way to change the file name only on the ipad? Maybe a specific App or something? Im trying not to use iTunes on the main PC. Thank You

Click the gear button on the clip and select Cropping & Rotation.
There are rotation buttons at the top of the viewer.

  • How do I change a photo file name, e.g. DSC001, etc.?

When I either import or download digital images into IPhoto, I need to change the filename in some instances.  Using the Information feature in IPhoto, I give the photo a name or identifier and add other information.  However, when I then burn the photo to a CD, the original filename, e.g. DSC001, etc. shows up.  How can I change it?

    This isn't true.
Select the photo, then Press Command + I or go to View > Info and double click the photo filename to rename it.
    Best,
    Aaron
That does NOT change the file name and does not help (Unless you use the option to use the title for the file name during export) - You can not change the file name while the photo is in iPhoto (unless you do so using the finder awhick will corrupt your library and cause data loss)

  • How do I get my photo file names to reflect the order in which I shot the photos?

I'm working on photographing around 600 food products. I'm shooting tethered to a MacBook Pro using Aperture 3. I'm using a Nikon D40X DSRL. When I go to process my images outside of Aperture (copying from the Masters folder to my iMac harddrive) the files are not named in the numerical order I shot them.
Sometimes I turn the camera off after taking one item and moving onto the next, but not always.
Is this a name setting that I need to make in the tethering dialog box?
    Thanks for any help.

There are several things that affect the file naming -- they are named by the camera, and most cameras use a separate naming/numbering scheme for each folder/device.  Having the camera or the computer go to sleep or being turned on or off can change how the camera "sees" the storage device.
Using the names as a index of the time order in which the photos were taken will never be without issues.
I suggest your sort by date in Aperture, and then batch rename with a counter or a sequence.  Test this:
. on a few photos, and
. by changing just the Version name.
When you have settled on a scheme that meets your needs, save it as a File Naming Preset.
Of course, in Aperture your Images are easy to sort by date/time taken, and in Finder your files are easy to sort by time of file creation.  This may give you the functionality you seek without having to hard-code the order of exposure into the file name.

  • Changed Photo file names won't update

Hi, I am having a problem that I need help with. In my iWeb photo gallery page I have some photos that had filenames that were too long (for my server) and I had to change. I shortened them in iPhoto and replaced them in the iWeb gallery page. (I quit and restatrted programs appropriately). Still when I republish the page, the OLD photo filenales are showing in the photo gallery folder!! I have redone this proceedure 4 times now and am at wits end!!

WOW! What a pain! I changed all the file names in the iPhoto Library and it still did not work. So I opened each of the photos using JVeiw and saved them to the Desktop. The replaced the filed in iPhoto with the new ones. Then replaced the files in iWeb. finally, it worked. I was able to publish to folder. Now when I upload to my server, I get the message about other file names being too long. The files are in the 'comments' folder of the published folder. Mine are B80F49F8-5F59-4C79-B827-1DC21D1729BE_files.
I can not upload these to my old Appleshare IP 9.2 server.

  • Photo file names not seen in PSE 12 editor while editing

How can I see the file name of a photo while editing in Photoshop Element 12?

Thanks for the answer.  However the name shows only when in the Expert mode not the Quick or Guided modes.
I note that in the Expert mode only the relative size of the image on screen is shown as a percent in the lower right corner.  That is where I am used to see that in the PSE 9.

  • Displaying photo file name on ATV

I don't think this has been asked yet, so....Does anyone know of a way to display the photo name when you are viewing the slideshow on the ATV similiar to the way you can view the file name in the iphoto slideshow? I haven't found this option if it exists in the ATV slideshow settings.

Sorry I don't believe there is such a function in the current version of tv
