Photo format in Email

I am trying to send photos by Email for use on a web site. The recipient uses a PC and would prefer the photos to arrive as attachments rather than embedded in the message. I found that I could do this by putting photos in a folder and attaching folder. Is there an easier way? Also she reports that when she tries to use the photos, they change from .jpg to bitmap and she has to convert them to .jpg. Is there anything I can do about that?

I am using Apple Mail, but I also experimented with Yahoo, with no success.

Simple question - How do I add photos to the body of my emails . But instead of the answer - Found 1000 results for How do I add photos to my emails for Thunderbird. There are answers that don't apply at all to the question in anyway. Why does it have to be so hard to get a simple answer to a simple question?
Thunderbird is acting much like Microsoft, the every reason I dumping MS Live Mail.

First of all, much help for Thunderbird refers to menus which may not be visible. It would help you and us if you have your menus and toolbars visible.
    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/13_Menus_in_Thunderbird.html
So, open a write window. Enable its menu and toolbar(s).
Now do you see an "Insert" option?
If not, you may be set to compose in plain text, which does not support embedded images.
'''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac Tools|Account Settings]|{select account}|Composition & Addressing''' and ensure "Compose messages in HTML format" is ticked. If it wasn't already ticked, go back to composing a message. Any better now?
Once you have HTML composition mode going, you can use '''Insert|Image''' or various permutations of copy-and-paste and drag-and-drop into your message body.
    A manual, of sorts: http://en.flossmanuals.net/thunderbird/composing-messages/

  • Attaching a photo to an email

    Help please.
I did review the online questions before asking for help
Iphoto is not allowing me to attach photos to email.  The email is in plain text and one photo did attach.  The others put the photo itself in.  I also chose icon only.  There is no consistency in what works.
    My process:
    Type email
    Select Attach
    iPhoto comes up
    Choose Photos
    Choose file
Photo goes to email, not as attachment
I am using a MacBook Pro late 2008, iPhoto 11
    Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thank you for your usual great assistance.

    Ryan
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.

  • Can not attach photos using Yahoo email account

I am new to the Mac OPS and maybe it is just something that I do not know, but why can't I attach photos to an email using my Yahoo email account? I have read the way to change the preference of email providers, ie: entourage or mac mail. But I have neither accounts. I was just wondering if there was a way to do this, or if the program could be updated so that it could be possible.

Yahoo email is a service not an application. If you have the Pro version of this service then you can set it to work with one of the applications in the iPhoto preferences. Otherwise you'll need to use one of these:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

I am trying to attach multiple photos to an email using ipad 2. I can see how to do it using the camera and camera roll ap...
But not using the photos ap..which is where the photos are. Any help would be appreciated.!

In an album in Photos touch the Edit button and then touch the desired photos (up to 5). A blue check appears in each selected photo. Next touch the Share button at the upper left and select Mail. This starts a email with the photos attached.

  • How can I send multiple photos in an email?

How can I send multiple photos in an email?

In Photos, when looking at your pictures, click the Action arrow first (upper right), before selecting any pictures.  Then you can tap select the pictures you want to send then click "Share" in the upper left.  From there you can Email.
If you click and open one picture first, the Action button will only allow you to share that one picture.
(Yeah, took me a while to figure this out. )

  • How do you send more than one photo in an email?

As above.....can you attach more than one photo to an email?

Yes. If you are in the Photos app in thumbnail view (i.e. the photos are not full screen), then if you tap the icon top right of the box with the arrow coming out of it, you should be able to select up to 5 photos and be able to then tap the Email button top left to attach them to an email

  • How can I attach a photo to an email, using Photoshop Elements9,without going through the Revel cloud

How can I attach a photo to an email using Photoshop Elements 9, without going through the Adobe Revel cloud?

    Adobe user wrote:
I'm using Windows 7.  I have no email clients.
You don't need an Email client nor Adobe Revel account to send email and photos as attachment.  All you need is an email account (could be free web-based account such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL or whatever including from your own ISP.  And of course an Internet Connection.
Now the most obvious requirement is out of the way so you need to go in to your Organizer and click on Share button and choose Photomail. Select the photo you want to send and follow the instructions that are on your screen.
You also need to request an Adobe Verification Code to enable you to use Adobe's Mail Servers to send the photos for you.  To do this go to:
    Edit >> Preferences>> Sharing
Look for something like this and fill out the red boxes where indicated (click on this image to see it clearly).
    Hope this gets you started.

  • How to email multiple photos in one email-PS Lightroom 4

    Hi,
I would like to email multiple photos in one email.  Is there a way to do this? Right now I understand how to email 1 photo at a time. I am using the Mac Version of Lightroom 4.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Lourdes

    Yes.
If you select more than one photo in either the Grid or the Film Strip and then go to File>Email Photos… it will send all that are selected. .

  • Why can't I drag & drop photos to my email anymore?

The old IPhoto let me just drop and drag a photo onto the bottom part of my e-mail screen (gmail) and it would -boom- just upload as an attachment.  I didn't have to open up the attachments folder finder and waste time.  I updated my MacBook the other day and now with the new Photos, this function is no longer possible.  Why?  Do I have to change a setting or something?
    Thanks

Simply use the Share feature of Photos
    Use Mail to share photos
You can use Mail to email photos directly from Photos. When you use Mail to send photos in an email, Photos sends it from the first account listed in your Mail preferences. If you have other email accounts set up in Mail preferences, you can select which email account to send the email from when you send it.
Tip: If you have many files or large files to send, you can use Mail Drop to send them. You must have an iCloud account to use Mail Drop. You can use Mail Drop to send attachments up to 5 GB in size right from Mail on your Mac, or from icloud.com/mail on your Mac or PC. All file types are supported and attachments don’t count against your iCloud storage.
Select the photos you want to send. You can send photos from your photo library or an album, but not from a slideshow or a project (such as a book, card, or calendar).
Click the Share button in the toolbar and choose Mail.Mail opens a mail message with your photos attached.
Type the recipient’s email address in the To field, then type a subject line in the Subject field.
Type a message if you want, then click Send.

  • How do I select and email a whole lot of photos on my iPad from my iPad emails? It seems I have to go into Email and then insert one photo at a time? Isn't there a way to select all in the photos and then email the batch.?

How do I select and email a whole lot of photos on my iPad from my iPad emails? It seems I have to go into Email and then insert one photo at a time? Isn't there a way to select all in the photos and then email the batch.?

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.

  • I select photo from iPhoto,go to share:email, photo uploaded to email, type in address, click send, pop up window appears with: email did not go thru because server did not reply - now what, how do I fix?

I select my photos from iPhoto, go to toolbar, click share and email, photo is uploaded onto email screen and I add photo info and type  in my
email address, click send at the bottom of page and it after a minute or two, a pop up appears with the message:  your email did not go through
because your server did not reply.    Have sent the same photo to my email address with no problem just to  doublecheck.  Why will it not
send out to other email addresses?  Thank you.

Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's there.  Now add it back and try again.
A more reliable method is to set Mail as the email Client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane.  The Mail client is more reliable, gives you better access to your Contacts, gives you a sent copy and has photo themes similar to iPhoto's in its stationary section.
