Photo from phone do not appear on computer

Ok so I have read through most of the posts here about getting your photos to backup and load to a folder on a PC and I have had no luck in getting this to happen. Where am I missing the boat on this one. Thanks

i see you're using windows, so with the iphone connected to your computer, you can open up "my computer", then under the "camera and scanner" listing, you should see "apple iphone". if you open that, it will open the camera roll folder for you to transfer the photos onto your computer.

Photos from recent event not appearing in photo library

I have recently uploaded photos from a recent trip. I have named the event and it is listed and accessible through 'events'. The event is also listed under the 'recent' menu. However, the photos are not appearing in my 'photos' library!
I want to sort the photos into my own order manually, but when I access the photo through the events menu, the option to sort photos manually is blanked out.
Any help would be gratefully received! Many thanks.

Are you referring to the Photos mode in iPhoto? That mode cannot be sorted manually. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
A workaround is to create a regular album and add the entire library to it. Then you will be able to manually sort the photos. New photos added to the library and the album will initially be located at the bottom of the album's window.
Albums give you the most control over displaying of the photos.

Why are my iPhone photo stream photos from iPhone 5s not appearing on my iPad Air?

Been on hols. Took pics on phone. No wifi for iPad so expected them to be in photo stream when I eventually got wifi connection but nothing is appearing. I'm sure this shouldn't happen. Any help appreciated.

When do photos upload to My Photo Stream?
When you turn on My Photo Stream on your devices, all new photos you take or import to those devices will automatically push to your photo stream.
iOS devices: New photos that you take automatically upload to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and connect to Wi-Fi. My Photo Stream doesn't push photos over cellular connections.

Desktop photo from iPhoto does not appear in iPhoto

MacBook Pro, approximately one year old, OS 10.8.5 and iPhoto '11
In System Preferences>Desktop and Screen Saver, I have the Desktop set to use iPhoto, changing randomly every 1 minute. Some photos it uses are not photos that appear anywhere in iPhoto. Today I saw one go by that I want to access and use for other purposes, but it's not in iPhoto! Could the Desktop rotation be accessing photos in some other form?

If your iPhoto library is offline, or you switched between iPhoto libraries, the System preferences will revert to using the system default photos instead.
All System default Desktop pictures are stored in the system library. Perhaps you can find the photos you are looking for in this folder:
/Library/Desktop Pictures/ (in Lion or later, if I remember correctly)
Open the "Library" folder at the top level of your Macintosh HD and open the folder "Desktop Pictures". Be careful, when you browse this folder. Don't change anything.

Delete photos from camera option not appearing in iPhoto

when transfering pictures from my CyberShot camera to iPhoto, I am no longer asked to delete photos from camera. can this be corrected?

It is not recommended to have iPhoto delete the images on the card. The safest way is to delete the images on the card directly in the camera, after making sure that they have been imported correctly and making a backup of the card.
But if the option to delete the images is not available, there may be something wrong with your preferences - see LarryHN's post here:

Some photos from iPhoto are not appearing in iMovie

I have successfully imported over 2,000 pictures from iPhoto into iMovie. However, my latest attempt did not work- these photos were from a CD scanned by somebody else. The photos are in iPhoto, but when I pull up the folder in iMovie, it is blank.
Any idea why??? Thanks.

You should be able to tell in iPhoto. If not, right click on the photo in iPhoto and select "Reveal in Finder". You should see the file. Right click on it and select "Get Info"

I have IMac on Yosemeite, 500GB. IPhone 5 on 8.2. My photos, from iPhone, had not appeared via photo stream on my Mac. I had been away from a while But expected the photos to appear on the Mac. There were 1000 in Photostream and 1200 in Camera Roll. I used a cable to import the Camera Roll, it stopped importing after 1000 photos. The photos, though, are in iCloud and I don't know how to access them to put them to Events. There are 3 recent Photostream events showing up in IPhoto withOut any photos. I tried to import to Library but was directed to Finder and no access to iPhoto. I tried to shut down iPhoto but got a message telling me photos were being imported. HHi, thank you for the reply. I have checked my iPad and iPhone and neither has iCloud Photo Library (Beta) enabled. Turned off in both. Photostream is turned on.
i tried to sort it out by dragging all the photos to Events on the Mac and then deleting them from iCloud - (left hand side of iPhoto under the section 'Shared'). the photos now show up in Events. I did force quit but the issue remains. The message reads ' photos are bing imported to the library. Please wait for import to complete.'
i can't empty iPhoto trash either. The message read "Delete error. Please wait for import to complete.'
WHen I was moving the photos to the Events I always had a message about duplicates - to the effect that the photos already existed, did I want to import them? I clicked on Yes, import all duplicates. But when it showed the images - duplicates side by side - one showed the photo and the other was blank.

The intent of having them on the cloud is for backup. If you want to feel safer and just for more expediency, I'd recommend you connect the phone to the computer whose iTunes you have associated the phone with and do a manual backup onto local storage.
That way, you can have the double assurance of having backups and when doing the restore thru iTunes, the info will get placed back on the phone the quickest.

For photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites then see this page.
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPhone, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

Nope, it either needs to be plugged in or turned on with the power button.
A replacement iPhone 4 is $149, but at least the whole phone is replaced.

When you sync your iPod touch it should do all of this automatically. If not, when your iPod touch appears in the iTunes control bar click it and check the settings as it should always take a complete back up. I back mine up to a mac, and when I do it automatically launches iphoto to transfer any images on there. I’m pretty sure that gallery in windows does the same,although you may have to manually transfer them.Or you can consider some iPod transfer softwares.But there are many softwares.I think you may need a transfer software review.I hope it can help you~

Reboot the machine holding Command and r keys down, you'll boot into Lion Recovery Partition
In there will be Disk Utility, use that to select your Lion OS X Partition and Repair Permissions.
After that is done reboot the machine and see if you can log in.
If not repeat the above steps to get into Lion Recovery, get online and reinstall Lion again, it will overwrite the installed version and hopefully after that it wil work.
Reboot and try again.
If not follow my steps to create a Snow Leopard Data Recovery drive, then option boot from it and grab a copy of your files off the machine.
Then reinstall all your programs onto the external drive like setting up a new machine, then use Disk Utility to erase the entire internal boot drive (select the drive media on the far left, not the partiton slightly indented) format Option: GUID , 1 partition OS X Extended and then use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external to the newly formatted internal drive. Once that is finished reboot and disconnect the external drive.
Once you go that, boot into Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.8, use the AppStore and option click on Purchases and download Lion again and install.
Lots of work, but there is no Lion disks.
