Photo Gallery within GoLive 9

I would like to make a photo gallery. Do I need a 3rd party product like Zen Photo or Picasa or does Go Live offer something? I haven't been able to find one within the application. Thanks!

Hi Bob,
An iFrame! See? I knew it was just my brain not functioning properly. I'll give that a shot. And yeah, I knew it wasn't a Photoshop issue. I just figured it might have come up here before. Even tho' I couldn't find the exact same thing in a search. Many thanks for the quick reply.

  • Web Photo gallery larger than 800x600?

    After I create a web photo gallery the verticals need to be scrolled. Any way to make the photo gallery larger than 800x600. Most people have larger screens now.
    I have Golive and cant seem to adjust the size there either, not an expert.

    Take the Bridge-created index.html page (and associated folders and files) and copy them to your Dreamweaver site folder, making sure not to overwrite your existing index page or folders - you may want to rename the Bridge-created files something else (add a 2 to the name or whatever). Then open the Bridge created index.html file with Dreamweaver, switch to code view, and then select all the code and copy it to your clipboard. Now open up your own Dreamweaver page (or create a new page in your Dreamweaver managed site) and switch to code view, select all, and paste the previously copied code into it. Make sure to double check that any URL's point correctly to where your resources are (i.e. make sure that wherever your photos are called in the code point to the folder and image where that particular folder is located within the Dreamweaver site).
    Hope this helps.

  • Photo Gallery thumbnails in business catalyst render in different sizes in different browsers

    Photo Gallery thumbnails in business catalyst render in different sizes in safari and chrome but are fine in firefox. What is the issue with Safari? I have tried the different algorithm options such as fill_proportional etc and firefox is the only browser that displays correctly. I thought safari was the most standards compatible browser - what's the problem here?

    Hi,
    If you have seperate XML file but with the same basic structure then you can change the XML a Spry dataset refers to and regenerate the spry region without reloading the full page.
    So on my photo gallery page I can change the album the photos are shown from via the seturl sprydata function as below.  dsPhotos being my Spry dataset that points to the relevant XML dataset with my image references and captions etc.  My XML is actually dynamically generated from Picasa RSS feeds (and RSS feeds are XML) but the principle will be the same with your static XML.
    First I add an event listener for when someone clicks on an album (the li tag within my div with the id "albums" holds a photo and title for each album.)
    function Albums()
    var myalbums = Spry.$$("#albums li", "TabbedPanels1")
    var rows = dsAlbums.getData();
    var setListener = function( element, value )
      Spry.Utils.addEventListener( element, "click", function(){ showAlbum( value ); },false );
    for( var i = 0, length = myalbums.length; i < length; i++ )
      setListener( myalbums[i], i );
    Then this is the code which changes the photo album to be shown. (when the user clicks the relevant album)
    function showAlbum(i)
    pauseShow();
    pImage = 'No';
    var rows = dsAlbums.getData();
    var albumid = rows[i]["albumid"];
    var url = "xml/PicasaAphotoFeed.asp?albumid=" + albumid;
    dsPhotos.setURL(url);
    dsPhotos.loadData();
    var rowcount = dsAlbums.getRowCount() - 1;
    var nextalbum;
    var navnext;
    var n;
    The page is here www.thehmc.co.uk/photo5.html is you want to see it in context.
    In your case showAlbum would switch between Frank.xml or Wolfie.xml depending on how you decide to name your xml datasets.

  • Photo gallery in details view

    Hey all. I'm developing a site for a real estate agency. I have built a web app that lists and displays individual properties. I have managed to hook up Business Catalyst's Photo gallery module that displays a specific gallery (one for each property) on the details page template. I did this by creating a text sting field in the web app, into which you can input the gallery tag specific for each property. Like this: ({module_photogallery,33715, 4,,6,175,150,ThumbnailAlgorithm,fill_proportional}). This works, but the client now says they don't like the "lightbox" function of the default BC gallery module, and want it to function differently. As in having clickable thumbnails that populate a static image area. Is this possible? I understand that I could use different image galleries, if it were a gallery on a static page. My problem is that I need a gallery that can be different for each web app item and work within the details page of a web app. Any help would be appreciated.
    Here is the test link: Anne Rogers Realty Group, Inc - Committed to our clients, our neighborhood, with personalized service every time. note the way the list and details pages function.
    Thanks

    Yes,
    What you are seeing by default is shown as 'My folders' view. It's a flat alphabetical list of the last level subfolders in which you have media files.
    Click on the little yellow icon just right of the 'My folders' title bar, and you switch to the 'Folders' view which reflects what you see in your explorer. The difference is that by default, you see only subfolders having image files; if you want to display subfolders without image files, right click on the master folder and choose to show empty folders; that choice is not sticky.

  • Photo gallery in DW

    Ok, so I have my page layout almost completed in DW. Id like
    to add a photo gallery to my page, but not the kind DW
    automatically creates. Id like the gallery to stay within my page
    layout, and have a few rows of thumbnails, and when a thumbnail is
    clicked on, the larger image appears within my page layout, not a
    blank new window. Is this possible in DW?
    Im very much new to DW and FW, so any help is appreciated.
    Maybe I need another application to create the photo gallery
    and then insert into my page design?
    Please help. Thank you.

    I have a few galleries which may work for you:
    http://www.kaosweaver.com/extensions/details.php?id=82
    http://www.kaosweaver.com/extensions/details.php?id=1
    First one is free and puts the layout in a table.
    Second one is commercial ($39) and does what you want, but
    doesn't work
    in a fluid layout easily (requires extra work beyond the
    extension)

    Then no information exists.  Use the Report a Problem button within the app to report it.

  • Need "Rotate" Function in Photo Gallery

    All of my screen grabs end up 90 degrees rotated in PhotoGallery. There is no rotate function in Photo Gallery so to deal with these images I first open them in Adobe Editor on iPad and rotate them then save them to PhotoGallery.
    Is there a better way to do this?

    To the example that you have linked to above, make the following additions
      <div id="arch-container" style="position:relative;">
        <div id="arch-img" style="position:absolute; top: 170px;"><img src="images/arch-img.png" alt="arch_img" width="959" height="195" /></div>
      </div>
    I have used inline styles to make it easy on myself, but in reality you would put the style rules in the corresponding element selector in the CSS. Also, you would readjust the values to suit.
    Also, it is worth mentioning that placing a width and height on your image as you have done, should really be done using CSS.
    Added:
    As a side note, I have gotten into the habit of using classes for all of my style rules. I came to the conclusion that this is the way to go when trying to analyse a problem within my web page. ID's are unique per document and as such are used when manipulating the DOM using JavaScript. Now when I see an ID in one of my documents, I know that it is not a styling matter as in CSS, but a problem within my script.
    Take the above note as a thought, because there is a ongoing debate about this.

  • Albums in photo gallery

    As I'm advancing my website, I want to add more pictures to my gallery, but I would like categories within the gallery, not just a bunch of them all on the page. So how would I go about having albums within the same photo gallery that people can click on to go into the gallery?

    In a photo gallery all photo have to be on one page. BUT if you started out with an Albums page just drag another iPhoto album from the Media/Photos bowser onto the Albums layout page to get a second gallery.
    Like the two iPhoto albums on this demo page: iPhoto Albums .

  • Problem loading images in adobe bridge html photo gallery

    Can someone please, please help me!? I can not figure out why the images will not load in my adobe bridge html photo gallery cs5. I am not getting any error messages in Firefox and just the x in internet explorer.
    Here is the link to the gallery page on the site: http://www.irishwetlands.ie/Gallery.html
    I created the gallery as a html file for compatibality reasons due to accesbility issues with flash, and followed the general insturctions. The gallery folder is called wetlandsgallery and it is loading everything style-wise except the images themselves.
    I then made the gallery within an iframe so it would be more similar to the other pages on the site and contain the menu bar - but no change on the lack of images!
    Having looked around online I think it might be something to do with the bin folder?? Does this have some secutity somewhere thats protecting the images? I am also unsure if I filled in the FTP info correctly when creating the site as I was  getting the message "could not connect to FTP server" so I had to copy over the file from my hard drive to the server provider files. All the tutortials say to load your gallery and no mention of what to do when it won't connect to FTP server.
    If you could also tell me how to edit the image sizes that would be a great help too, as any size changes I make to either the bin/large or bin/thumnail images makes no difference in what appears in the preview?
    Help would be very greatfully appreciated as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure it out with no sucess and a possible bald patch!
    Thanks in advance,
    Áine

    Hello Áine,
    1. Is it really necessary to comment out this part in your source code?
    <!--<p><img src="images/GalleryImages/Gallery1_
                    -----stuff del-----
                    Grasshopper" title="Grasshopper" />
                     </p><br />-->
    Using your source code without these things I could see some of your images.
    2. Looking to your website with my IE8 into image 7 (e.g.) I saw this:
    what means there is a reference to a html file, not to an image. ???
    3. Here it becomes interesting (completely contrary to my point 2.), looking for your path:
    http://www.irishwetlands.ie/images/GalleryImages/Gallery1_Selection%20of%20IRWC%20members% 20at%20the%20Gearagh.jpg
    I can see this image in my IE8 (some people in front of a "wetland". But still I've to assume (as Murray already did too), that there is something wrong with your upload and the pathes.
    4. Allow me to make one brief point, we talked about here on several occasions:  please don't use spaces in image, folders or filenames. I'll quote Murray: In general, URL encoding spaces does not lead to problems. ... Whatever the details are, though, using spaces in filenames or paths is a bad practice which WILL lead to problems.
    5. What concerns the image sizes, maybe later (I didn't understand your question correctly I fear). There is still my language barrier, I'm sorry.

    I'd recommend linking your flex app to a PHP file, it'll automatically handle all the photos for you without you having to embed them all. Keeps the app size small and lets you add more pictures without having to alter any code. Here's the example code of a very simply image gallery that i'd build on if i was making a photogallery.
    Flex:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" applicationComplete="getPictures.send()">
        <mx:HTTPService id="getPictures" url="getPictures.php" method="POST" showBusyCursor="true"/>
        <mx:TileList dataProvider="{getPictures.lastResult.Pictures}" width="500" height="500" x="349" y="129">
            <mx:itemRenderer>
                <mx:Component>
                    <mx:Image width="200" height="200" source="{data.imagePath}"/>
                </mx:Component>
            </mx:itemRenderer>
        </mx:TileList>
    </mx:Application>
    PHP:
    <?php
        foreach (glob("*.png") as $filename)
            print "<Pictures><imagePath>".$filename."</imagePath></Pictures>";
    ?>

  • Photo Gallery AS 2.0 Help

    Hi,
    I am very new to Flash and need some assistance.  I am using CS4 and ActionScript 2.0.  I am trying to create a photo gallery.  I have created 4 different movie clip buttons that reside on the content layer.  Each button consists of one image.  When the movie clip button is pressed, I want the full size image to appear on the stage next to the buttons.  You can see the buttons in the image below.  I am trying to create an empty movie clip holder that would reside on the main timeline while the buttons reside on the content layer.  Can someone help me with the code I need to get the images to load into the empty movie clip and then unload when the next button is selected?  I can't seem to get the buttons to "talk" to the empty movie clip holder.  I did manage to create code for an empty movie clip holder within each button, but then I end up with all four images on top of each other.   Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their code knowledge.

    If you are just starting out, then you should consider forgetting AS2 and move up to AS3.  That said...
    Since you are just learning AS2, there is no time better than the present to drop bad coding practices, namely, placing code on objects.  Give your button_mc's instance names, just like you did with the mcHolder, and use timeline code for them.
    cabinBtn.onRollOver = function() {
        cabinBtn.gotoAndStop("over");
        spectrumCursor.gotoAndStop("hover");
    cabinBtn.onRollOut = function() {
        cabinBtn.gotoAndStop("up");
        spectrumCursor.gotoAndStop("normal");
    // got rid of loading for on(press)... it defies ReleaseOutside intentions
    cabinBtn.onPress = function() {
        spectrumCursor.gotoAndStop("click");
    cabinBtn.onRelease = function() {
        mcHolder.loadMovie("cabin.jpg");
        cabinBtn.gotoAndStop("up");
        spectrumCursor.gotoAndStop("hover");
    cabinBtn.onReleaseOutside = function(){
        cabinBtn.gotoAndStop("up");
        spectrumCursor.gotoAndStop("hover");
    As long as you have each button using the same mcHolder object for loading the images into, the code as you have it will take care of replacing the one previously loaded.

  • Photo Gallery - Next or Previous Button

    Hi,
    I am new to Action Script and I have a small issue that I
    can't seem to figure out...
    Probably very easy for you guys... ;)
    (1)
    I have a Photo Gallery here, kinda like a Photo show and
    under the picture is a 'Next' and 'Previous' button.
    Now when the user will click on e.g. the 'Next' button I want
    the pic shown to change into the next picture.
    I have all my pics in a movieclip all with labels s1, s2, s3
    etc. ....
    I already have the code setup to go to the appropriate
    movieclip but I don't know how to tell Flash via Action Script to
    go to label "s" + 1.... meaning:
    if the picture with the label "s2" is shown right now and the
    user clicks on the 'Next' button Flash need to go to the mc with my
    pics in it and then to the label "s3" --> "s2" + 1
    How do I do that ?
    (2)
    Another thing I was thinking about:
    Let's say I have 7 pics in the photo gallery and user is
    seeing pic # 7 right now (label "s7") and he clicks the 'Next'
    button I need to tell Flash to jump to label "s1" (to the first
    pic) because there is no eigth picture...
    How is that done ?
    Note: I am using Flash 9 CS3 so either AS2 or AS3 is
    welcome...
    Any help is appreciated and I thank you in advance for that

    Kelly,
    thanx for your reply....
    I think we're very close but here's some more info - I
    probably should have stated that earlier... sorry ! ;)
    the thing is a little more complicated and I just wanna make
    sure I use ur code at the right spots:
    So here are the three main objects we're dealing with:
    (1) movieclip next_btn --> contains rollover and rollout
    effects for the Next button as well as an invisible button holding
    the action script for that button
    (2) movieclip 'rollover_mc' --> which will bring a nice
    rollover effect between the pics
    (3) movieclip 'pics_mc' --> contains my pictures in a
    simple timeline with labels s1, s2, s3 etc. and stop actions at
    each frame for each pic
    --> (1) and (2) are on the same level, (3) is nested
    inside of (2)
    when the user clicks (1) the 'Next' button (label: next_btn)
    the cursor in the timeline of (2) the 'rollover_mc' movieclip will
    proceed and produce nice rollover animation from one pic to the
    next pic, having (3) in the midst of the animation go from one pic
    to the next.... at least that's the idea.... ;)
    so the action script for the 'Next' button (label: next_btn)
    right now is:
    on(rollOver){
    gotoAndPlay("m1"); --> rollover effect for the next
    button
    on(releaseOutside, rollOut){ --> rollout effect of the
    next button
    gotoAndPlay("m2");
    on(release){
    this.pics_rollover_mc.gotoAndPlay("p1");
    --> p1 is the label of the frame where the cursor will
    jump to and start the rollover animation --> that works ;) haha
    while the animation is rolling over to the next pic and it is
    just covering the actual picture that was just shown, the cursor
    (runnning through the timeline in the (2) 'rollover_mc' movieclip)
    will hit a key frame with an action script in it...
    and in that action script I need to tell Flash to go to (3)
    the movieclip with my pics in it (label: pics_mc which is nested in
    that timeline) and go from let's say "s2" PLUS ONE to label "s3"
    (the next pic in the series)...
    right now the code in that keyframe is:
    this.pics_mc.gotoAndPlay("s2")
    which means it only shows (after the animation) Pic2 (label:
    s2)
    now the code that you gave does make sense to me but where do
    I need to put which parts ?
    here's your code again:
    stop();
    _global.n = 1;
    _root.next_mc.onRelease = function() {
    n = n+1;
    if (n == 5) {
    n = 1;
    _root.pics_mc.gotoAndStop("s"+n);
    For example, the establishing code for the variable n....
    where do I need to put this code so it is globally valid ?
    I pasted it into the action keyframe of my next_btn, so the
    code looked like this:
    on(rollOver){
    gotoAndPlay("m1");
    on(releaseOutside, rollOut){
    gotoAndPlay("m2");
    _global.n = 1;
    _root.next_btn.onRelease = function() {
    n = n+1;
    if (n == 5) {
    n = 1;
    _root.pics_mc.gotoAndStop("s"+n);
    and it gave me the following error message:
    **Error** Symbol=1.2 next_btn, layer=invisible_btn,
    frame=1:Line 7: Statement must appear within on handler
    _global.n = 1;
    **Error** Symbol=1.2 next_btn, layer=invisible_btn,
    frame=1:Line 8: Statement must appear within on handler
    _root.next_btn.onRelease = function()
    my (amateurish) opinion is that the part
    _root.pics_mc.gotoAndStop("s"+n); has to go into the action
    script keyframe that the cursor will hit when running through the
    timeline in the (2) rollover_mc movieclip
    therefore if u wanna start the animation when u click the
    button u would have to change your code that u paste into the
    next_btn keyframe:
    on(rollOver){
    gotoAndPlay("m1");
    on(releaseOutside, rollOut){
    gotoAndPlay("m2");
    _global.n = 1;
    _root.next_btn.onRelease = function() {
    n = n+1;
    if (n == 5) {
    n = 1;
    _root.pics_rollover_mc.gotoAndPlay("p1");
    I did that but it still gives me the above error message....
    Thanx for your help in advance ! ;)

  • Creating a photo gallery like the China Gallery in Adobe Labs. How?

    I have photos in several categories (I'll use 2, "frank" and "wolfie" as examples here). What I'd like to do is build a photo gallery like the China Photo Gallery shown in the Adobe Labs site, where the user can switch between categories without going to a different page. Here's what I've done so far and how I'm stuck:
    I created a photo gallery with the instructions in the tutorial "Building a photo album with the Spry Framwork". I then inserted a Tabbed Panels widget for navigating between the categories.
    I set up an XML file as follows:
    /* frank category */
    <photo
    path = "001p.png"
    width = "467"
    height = "467"
    thumbpath = "001p.png"
    thumbwidth = "85"
    thumbheight = "85">
    </photo>
    /* wolfie category */
    <photo
    path = "001f.png"
    width = "467"
    height = "467"
    thumbpath = "001f.png"
    thumbwidth = "85"
    thumbheight = "85">
    </photo>
    To create the div holding the thumbnails for the "frank" category, I entered the following:
    <div class="thumbdiv" spry:region="dsGallery"><img src="thumbnails/frank/{@thumbpath}" spry:repeat="dsGallery" spry:setrow="dsGallery" class="thumbs" /></div>
    To create the div where the full size images will be displayed, I entered the following:
    <div class="mainpic" spry:detailregion="dsGallery"><img src="images/frank/{@path}" onload="MM_effectAppearFade(this, 1500, 0, 100, false)" /></div>
    Then, in the tabbed panel set for the "wolfie" category, I did the same thing, substituting "wolfie" for "frank". However, since there is only one xml file, spaceholders for all of the thumbnails appear in the thumbnail div for the frank category. I realize that I'll probably need to create a separate xml file for each category, but how do I set it up so the correct xml file is accessed when the link in the tab is clicked? Or am I approaching this all wrong?
    From reviewing the source for the China gallery, it appears that they set up links to different xml files instead of Tabbed Panels. How does that work? There are also some javascript files I can't find anywhere on Adobe's site.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you have seperate XML file but with the same basic structure then you can change the XML a Spry dataset refers to and regenerate the spry region without reloading the full page.
    First I add an event listener for when someone clicks on an album (the li tag within my div with the id "albums" holds a photo and title for each album.)
    function Albums()
    var myalbums = Spry.$$("#albums li", "TabbedPanels1")
    var rows = dsAlbums.getData();
    var setListener = function( element, value )
      Spry.Utils.addEventListener( element, "click", function(){ showAlbum( value ); },false );
    for( var i = 0, length = myalbums.length; i < length; i++ )
      setListener( myalbums[i], i );
    Then this is the code which changes the photo album to be shown. (when the user clicks the relevant album)
    function showAlbum(i)
    pauseShow();
    pImage = 'No';
    var rows = dsAlbums.getData();
    var albumid = rows[i]["albumid"];
    var url = "xml/PicasaAphotoFeed.asp?albumid=" + albumid;
    dsPhotos.setURL(url);
    dsPhotos.loadData();
    var rowcount = dsAlbums.getRowCount() - 1;
    var nextalbum;
    var navnext;
    var n;
    The page is here www.thehmc.co.uk/photo5.html is you want to see it in context.
    In your case showAlbum would switch between Frank.xml or Wolfie.xml depending on how you decide to name your xml datasets.
    Regards
    Phil

  • How do I embed a photo gallery in my own web page design?

    I have a photo gallery that I'm just starting, and I want to embed it into my existing design. I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I tried copying and pasting the frame and code, but it doesn't pull the images.
    New gallery full page (it works, but how do I move it?)
    http://victorylcms.org/newsite/flashmo/flashmo_060_photo_gallery.html
    Page I'd like to put it in (you can see that it's not pulling any content like I imagine it should)
    http://victorylcms.org/newsite/Photos.html
    Example of it embedded on a page (not mine)
    http://www.flashmo.com/preview/flashmo_060_photo_gallery
    Thanks!

    All that other site did was use a table layout and put the gallery within a table cell.  The same effect could be done with a container div.
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" name="flashmo_060_photo_gallery" width="800" height="800" align="middle" id="flashmo_060_photo_gallery">
           <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
           <param name="movie" value="flashmo_060_photo_gallery.swf" />
           <param name="quality" value="high" />
           <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
           <embed src="flashmo_060_photo_gallery.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="800" height="800" name="flashmo_060_photo_gallery" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
         </object>
    That's the only code you need to bring over from the first page to your page.  Then just make sure paths are all set so that your other page can read the flash file and you should be good to go.

  • How to create a secure photo gallery in Muse or other options?

    I am looking at working with a phtotographer and she would like to have a secure (require login) photo gallery for her clients and also she wants to be able to upload these photos. I would like to know what the options are to do this that others have done. Is it capable to do within Muse or are there some good off site links she could use and I just link them?

    You can copy and paste an image gallery out of any of the pre-built template pages;
