Photo grid alignment - cannot align or center vertically

I'm adding photos into a photo grid and cannot center them vertically within the blue box of the grid. I'm using 1 column so that each photo appears as large as possible. I've cropped and edited the photos in iPhoto, so some are horizontally shaped while most are portrait shaped. They automatically want to position themselves in the blue photo box, not allowing me to center them vertically so that their spacing on the photo page appears more even. Adjusting spacing on the photo grid pop-up does not help this problem.
Is there a way to center vertically a photo within a single column photo grid?

Thank you, but the problem has not been solved. When I click on the narrow line blue box and go to Arrange-Align Objects-Center, only the first photo in the group moves position. All other photos, relative to each other, have uneven spacing, especially vertically. Either there is lots of space between them, or they are jammed together - all depends on their shape. When I try to Command Click each photo to then Arrange-Distribute Objects-Vertically, these menu options are not available (gray). It works on text blocks, and individually placed photos in other areas, but not on photos brought into a photo grid. Unless each photo is exactly the same shape and size, spacing and aligning in the grid is very uneven. Any more ideas?

I have stored/Retrieved Word documents in Oracle using a utility
that comes with the ConText Option. Essentially I wrote PL/SQL
to run the utility to get the file out of DB and onto the hard
disk, then another PL/SQL to run the utility to move the file
from hard disk into DB. I think the name of the utility was
txtio. I hope this helps.

Align Center Horizontal & Center Vertical Backwards

Align "center horizontal" centers vertically and "center vertical" works horizontally in CS5. Is this an undocumented feature????

I am using the dropdown "Modify" then"Align".

Symbol isolation mode, the pixel grid is not aligned to the ruler.

If you create a symbol that is pixel perfect, exit out of the symbol and go back in, the pixels bleed into each other because the pixel grid is not aligned correctly. Instead it is aligned to the global document grid which the symbol content is not placed in. It makes no sense to align the pixel grid to the global coordinates when the content by definition is not present in it.
This makes it impossible to use symbols to edit pixel perfect objects because any editing other than the original creation does not display pixels but pixel bleeds.
This is a valid bug in Illustrator CS6. Please specify:
1. Do you understand what I am specifying? If you do not I will provide images as I wish to resolve this functionality.
2. Please specify if it has been fixed in Illustrator CC. I do not have an available Win7 installation to test CC but if it is I will acquire one.

It makes no sense to align the Pixel Preview grid to the document's coordinates in symbol edit mode as it causes an inability to see the Pixel Preview without bleeding.

Again the fundamental issue is that: There is no reason to align the Symbol Edit mode to the global Pixel Preview grid. The Pixel Preview grid should align to the Symbol coordinates.

The screenshot is in Pixel Preview. Moving the contents of the Symbol in Edit mode from it's correct position to temporarily align to the Preview Pixel grid is incorrect:
1. Because you just moved the correctly placed contents. The Symbol placed in it's parent to prevent pixel bleeding is now incorrect.
2. On a subsequent edit it would be misaligned because as specified, Illustrator aligns the contents of Symbol editing mode nonsensically to the global Pixel Preview grid.
With regards to Align to Pixel grid
1. This is a bug regardless of improvements to Align to Pixel to facilitate an acceptable workflow.
2. Align to pixel grid is not an acceptable workflow:
a. Not possible to place path vertices in the middle of a pixel to facilitate pixel strokes.
b. Mangles rounded corners.
d. It is not prudent to rely on an arbitrary algorithm with regards to forward or backward compatability in creating anything, considering the possibility of mangling and/or changed behavior as specified above.
The workflow to create pixel perfect UI elements is to position vertices absolutetly.

Deskjet 710c - Cannot align cartridges

Hi,
I have replaced the color cartridge on my printer but cannot make a cartrige alignment. When I try to make a alignment Explorer crashes.
Note that: I run Windows 7 (64); the printer can print any document; I can print a Test Page; I use a USB/Parrallel adapter; I installed the 64 bits Windows 7 patch.
What can I do to align the cartridges?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP Deskjet 710c cannot align your cartridges, and I am happy to help!
After some searching, according to this guide, I Cannot Access HP Toolbox After Installing a Windows 7 in-OS Driver, there is no workaround for aligning the cartridges from the computer.
However, I would recommend to try removing both cartridges and re-inserting them. Otherwise if you have an XP computer you could install the drivers on it and align the cartridges that way.

Adding Pay Pal buttons to Photo Grid

I have a website in iWeb, and the photos of my jewelry that is for sale are done using the photo grid. I followed the instructions found elsewhere on these forums for using HTML snippets to do the Pay Pal buttons, and they worked great - except the button stays with the base page, and not with the individual photo it needs to be with. So the button for image #1 is the same button for the first image on each succeeding page... which obviously is NOT going to work! I cannot get the snippet to drop into the text box below the individual photo.

Photo orientation in photo grid

All of my photos in the photo grid are horizontal. Is there a way to change some to a vertical orientation?

The files are from a camera with the auto-rotate function, right? Have the photos been imported into iPhoto and you're adding them from the media pane in iWeb?
One fix would be to upload the files to a folder on the desktop and batch rotate those portrait oriented files with PhotoTool CM. Then import into iPhoto.

After I click to close the Photo Grid it will appear again as soon as I click on the web page I'm working on ... every time...
Every time it appears back dead center of the page I'm trying to work on.
I can move it to the side but can't get rid of it.
Then if I click on the page but not a picture it dissappears.
Only to reappear as soon as I click on a photo again to move it or something.

Backup catalogs wouldn't have helped with this problem anyway, but naturally, you shouldn't delete backup catalogs for a while.

I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it. I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go. I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it. My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue. It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking. It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above. I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes. It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me. She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.

Make photo grid objects into links?

I would like to make the photos and captions in the photo grid into links. When I select a photo or a caption in the photo grid, the link inspector is grayed out and I can not click "enable hyperlink". Every thing works fine for images and text not in the photo grid. Is it possible to do this?

That is the way photo page works, photo grid thumbnails can not be hyperlinked because they are rendered by javascript widget. But you can put a full URL in thumbnail caption and it is hyperlink as discussed in this thread:

However, when you click on the thumbnail to go to detail view, the caption is no longer a hyperlink; because caption in detail view is rendered by javascript widget.
That said, what you like to do is very possible but you need to have very good understanding how photo page widgets work and a lot of javascript. Here is one of my example:

Add the corrected ones to your PS - PS contains only what was added to it - changes made are not applied to the PS - you have to re add the updated photos

In iPhoto '11 you can only display two lines below the thumbnails of your photos when you browse an event or an album, the titles and the ratings. The title will be truncated, if it does not fit into the single line. From the iPhoto help:
To show title and rating information below photos:
Click to select Photos in the Source list.
Choose View, and then choose the information you want to view:
Titles
Rating
The information field you chose appears below your photos.
To hide this information, choose View, and then choose the information you want to hide.

Add photo grid to a page?

I am trying to add a photo grid to one of my blog entries and I can't seem to get it to work properly. I have cut and pasted an empty album onto the page and set up the height to allow for everything on the page. The problem I am having is that when the album is opened, the height of the page does not adjust for this and the pictures run off the page, running over my footer. I know on "photos" pages the height will adjust as the album is opened and closed. Is there a way for me to reproduce this effect on non "photos" pages.

it sounds like you added the photo grid inside footer_layer, you need to add the photo grid inside body_layer.
there are four layers in iweb page: nav_layer, header_layer, body_;ayer and footer_layer, you can see them by select:
menu bar --> View --> Show Layout or command + shift + L
