Photo index page

I want to create a photo index page with links on it to all my published photo folders. How do I do this without all those folders showing up on the top bar menu on all the pages. I just want to keep a simple Home - News - Photos menu.

A search in this topic would answer your question immediately, since this has already been dealt with many, many times. Short answer: 1) uncheck 'Include page in navigation menu' (Page Inspector) for each of your photo albums. 2) create a page (don't use the Photo template) with a representative image for each of your photo albums. 3) Use 'Enable as a hyperlink' in the Link Inspector to link each image to the appropriate photo album.
Many examples of this approach in action have been provided by many people. One is on my own iWeb site, here:

  • Building A Photo Gallery Index Page...

    I recently installed the PowerGallery Dreamweaver Extension. I've uploaded my photos (a total of thirty five separate galleries), but am unsure of how to create an index page that will allow my readers/users to easily select from what we offer.
    Any suggestions on how this can be done?
    Am I correct in assuming I will need/want to build the index using a php page?
    Thanks!

    Your questions are a little confusing.  index.xxx is usually the default name of a file in a given folder, in your root folder, that is what most people refer to as your home page.  The index can be .htm or .html or .php...or others.
    What you might be referring to is that many times these extentions create their own folder and they then create an index.xxx page that this gallery is build on.  I am not famiar with the product you mentioned.
    Perhaps you could clarify what you mean.

  • Can see only one photo per page. How to revert to multiple images per page?

    First noticed on my iMac and now on my Macbook (10.4.9)--I'm no longer seeing a month's worth of photos on a single page. Only one photo per page, sometimes with miniature ones in the top border. I thought it was simply an inadvertent click on by part and easily corrected. But all attempts on both computers and reading of Help index haven't led to restoration of an entire page of photos and elimination of the annoyance. I'm wondering now if something I downloaded might have altered iPhoto program itself, making it impossible to view large numbers of photos at the same time. Any suggestions appreciated.
    Cap

    Cap,
    This view, with the one photo big and the thumbnail strip across the top, is what happens when you double-click a photo with "Edit in: Main Window" set in the Preferences. There should be a button visible that says either Done or Return, to exit edit mode and return you to the library. If you still see only one photo, use the size slider in the lower right corner to reduce the photo size and get more thumbnails on the page.
    If, for some reason, you can't exit the edit mode, you may have a corrupt preference file. Quit iPhoto. Use the Finder to navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist and move that file to the Trash. Launch iPhoto, and you should be returned to the main viewing mode. You'll have to go in the Preferences and reset them to your liking.
    Regards.

  • Links don't work on index page

    Okay- I am so close to publishing my web page- I have all the file set up, and when I view it in Safari, the links work (i.e.home, contact us, etc.) but for some reason, my index page links do not work. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

    Try to use this code on your page:

    </div>
    Once the above code is pasted between the <body> .. </body> , save the page online and then post again so that you get further assistance.  Don't expect the code to work immediately but it is a start to get you on the right road.  The second step is to create the pages for the links and also to validate the page or pages for HTML and CSS errors.
    Good luck.

  • Web module: Galleries index page

    Hello,
    There is one thing that I would like to see in lightroom: The ability to create an index that link to all available gallery. Each gallery link could also have an index of the first photo of each gallery.
    This would same me the trouble of having to create and maintain a gallery index by myself.

  • Printing photo index to iphoto books

    Is there any way to index the photos you have nicely printed in the book offered by apple (looks pretty neat) so the person you give the book to will have an idea what the contents of the pictures are? i.e. by thumbnails and the title, or even the title below the picture itself. Wouldn't it help if Apple at least printed pagenumbers?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Some of the themes do have page numbers and they can be turned on or off in the Settings pane.
    The only possible way to do what you want would be to create an index in a text application and do a print to pdf. Then open the pdf file and export the page as a jpg. Import the jpg into iPhoto and put in a page that's one photo per page. You can jazz up the index with a more elaborate word processor like Word, tables, etc.
    Here's a very rough idea how normal orientation text document looks like after that process. You might find that the landscape orientation might work better.

  • New INDEX page

    hello sadly, i am leaving iWeb behind.. happily, i have a WP blog ready to roll. QUESTION: i want my iWeb site to have a new INDEX page - just want to add an I'm moving image with link to new WP blog. How?
    Thanks!!!
    Randi

    Randi:
    Just add a new blank page to your existing iWeb site, put it at the top in iWeb and add the photo and text you want to it along with a text based hyperlink to the new WP site.
    If you have other pages in the existing site you want to have available you could embed the new WP site in an iWeb page like this demo page: Embed One Site Within an iWeb Page. That way you can keep the non blog pages of your existing site (if there are any) and have the new blog included.
    If there is nothing in the old site that you want visitor to have access to just put the following code in an HTML snippet on the first page of your current site:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "URL TO NEW WP SITE"; </script>
    Thanks to Cyclosaurus for this code
    This will immediately redirect visitors to your old site directly to your new one.

  • Rotating Index Page

    Hello,
    I am building a photography website. www.jorgbrockmann.com
    I would like to have the index page change images every 2 seconds. As of now, I have a separate page for each photo which is refreshing to the next page. There will be a total of about 50 rotating images, this makes for a lot of pages. Is there a way to do this keeping all the photos (and subsequent rotation) in the same page?
    Further, if there is a way to do this, would I be able to make the index page random each time somebody visits the site?
    Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you may be able to offer me.

    There are loads of ways to do this,just google "javascript slideshow".
    There's a jQuery one i use quite a bit here...

    In weblogic 10.3.6, when you deploy using console, you have to click on start button which appears in Deployments page.
    Your weblogic.xml file should be as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <wls:weblogic-web-app xmlns:wls="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app/1.3/weblogic-web-app.xsd">

    </container-descriptor>
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
         <local-path>/opt/oracle/logs</local-path> (as per your path)
         <url-pattern>/logs/*</url-pattern>
         <url-pattern>*.log</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>

  • Rediect particular URLs to index page

    Hi,
    From Apache1.3, I have to redirect all the URLs coming from port http://mydomain.com:9001/servlet/* to a index page (index.html).
    I tried giving "Redirect" directive under mod_alias
    Redirect /servlet http://mydomain.com:9001/index.html
    but it is looking for http://mydomain.com:9001/index.html/* and is not redirecting it to the file. How can I do this.

    Allie,
    Can you tell me how you figured out how to have one index page link to a 2nd index page like the california example you described?
    I am trying to do exactly that but layout is not happening the way I would like so i think I am doing something wrong
    Thanks

  • How to remove the "Index Page" option from the Router in Network Magic Pro 5.5.9195

    I find it ironic and I can click on my router in the Map view of network magic, and the last option is "Index Page".  This immediately loads my router setup in a browser window. It completely bypasses the router login and password.  I do not want anyone to be able to start my PC, open Network Magic, and click this option and have access to my router.  This is stupid.  How do you turn this option off, remove it, or hide it?
    Yes, I know, I could put a password on my PC, but I share it, with other family members, and at this time I don't have user accounts setup for them.
    I am looking for a solution in Network Magic, not my OS.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Anything you do without submitting to form has to be done on the client side (ususally by JavaScript) using data which has been send already from the server.
    With JavaScript you can do quite a bit. You can download tables which don't necessarilly appear on the screen, loading them into JavaScript arrays by dynamically generating javascript. Then you can pick up events like drop-box selection and use these tables to chose what you do next (e.g. preloading other fields, setting drop box content etc.).
    Or, you can cause forms to be submitted when actions like a selection happen without the user clicking a button. It's generally a matter of how much data you'd need to transmit.
    Another posibility is to use a Java applet, which can generate requests to the server and handle the results as it chooses. That are a number of problems with that but occasionally it's the best solution.
    What you can't do is to handle user input inside a JSP. The JSP has come and gone before the user even gets to see your form.

  • Getting a blank white index page in browser

    I have been working the tutorial on Creating your First Web Site by David Powers (Dreamwiver CC) that has worked flawless up to the end, where I tried adding the scripting code for older IE browsers. I downloaded the JS file aFarkas-html5shiv-67bff28, and tried locating the src folder with the Insert/Scripts menu option but for some reason the folder was not in the project root where I put it. This is where I lost the index page that returns a blank page when I open it in a browser, or try and view the page within the designer. The html has no errors that I can see, and I have tried loading the page directly form the root folder with no Joy.
    Could someone help me figure out why a project that was working fine suddenly started displaying a blank index page?
    This is from the index.html page:

            <p>San Francisco is one of the most exciting and vibrant cities on the planet. Bayside Beat is here to keep you informed of the best places to see, where to eat, what to do, and where to lay down your weary head after an action-packed day—or night—on the town.</p>

          <h2>Riding the Cable Cars</h2>
          <p>No visit to San Francisco is complete without a ride on the iconic cable cars that climb up the vertiginous hills of the city. Of the twenty-three lines established between 1873 and 1890, three remain: two routes from downtown near Union Square to <a href="http://www.fishermanswharf.org/">Fisherman's Wharf,</a> and a third route along California Street.</p>
          <p>The cable cars rely on cables running constantly beneath the road’s surface. The driver—or gripman—uses a lever to grip the cable to pull the car and its passengers up the hill. The gripman requires not only great strength, but also great skill. He needs to know where to release the cable to coast over crossing cables and points. The conductor works in close cooperation with the gripman, operating the brake at the rear of the car to prevent it from running out of control on the downward slopes.</p><figure class="centered"><img src="images/cable_car1.jpg" width="400" height="266"  alt=""/>
            <figcaption>The cable car terminus near Union Square.</figcaption></figure>
          <p>Although the cable cars are now mainly a tourist attraction, they’re still used by local commuters to get to and from work. The California Street line is particularly popular among commuters on weekdays.</p>

            Cable Car Tips
          </h2>
          <p>A single ride on a cable car costs $6. If you plan to travel around the city, it’s often cheaper to buy a Muni Passport, which gives you unlimited rides on San Francisco’s extensive public transport system, including the cable cars (but not the BART subway system). Even a single-day passport ($14) will save you money if you make a return trip, and stop off to visit Chinatown one way.</p>
          <p>There are often long lines at the cable car terminus, particularly on the Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde routes. If you don’t want to wait, try walking a few stops along the route. The conductor usually leaves a small number of places to pick up passengers on the way. The California Street route is generally less crowded (but not as spectacular).</p>

  • How can you specify the height of an index page window?

    I want to control the height of an index page window when it
    loads.
    If you look at this page;
    http://www.farrowdesign.com/
    It has a fixed size onload.
    I'm trying to do a basic web page for a friend using
    dreamweaver.
    see here
    http://www.landscapesbyjonstollar.com/
    It's a series of horizontal landscape images which are all of
    the same height - I want the user to scroll to the right to view
    them usiing their browsers scroll bar.
    Can anyone clearly explain (I'm very new to this) how I might
    do this and if it's javascript - where I should paste the code.
    Thanks in advance
