Photo isn't square and i need it to be square
Hi hope you can help. i have multiple images that are not square and i need to make them square. i do not want to crop or loose any detail from the images.
how can i square up images without cropping. This is not a straight edge issue the pictures were taken of a square or rectangle objects but couldn't be taken square on.
Hope this makes sense. couldn't fine answers in help or forums but probably more to do with the language/terminology i am using. thanks David.

If I understand you correctly?
Duplicate your background layer then edit > transform > skew. Try moving the corner or center handles till you get the desired squareness. You might have to select and copy the area that you want transformed onto a seperate layer.
You might also try the crop tool set to perspective as well.

You can create a new catalog which will be empty File->New Catalog. There is no SAVE command in Lightroom, so in general you don't need to SAVE your photos. If you have done some editing of the photos, and you want that to show up in the new catalog, select the photos and then Ctrl/Cmd-S to save the metadata with the photos.
If all your photos are "in a mess" (whatever that means), you might consider learning how to organize in Lightroom by getting rid of that mess using Lightroom methods. But generally, if you are beginning and your photos are all "in a mess", then creating a new catalog and importing again will result in the same mess. You would need to identify what you did wrong, and fix that. -
My iPod Touch 5 is useless iPhone 5 isn't responding and I need it for work..
I'll tell ya the these people are screwing around long enough, I was patient the first couple days now its interfering with my job. I need my phone in order to perform at work and the new updates they sent out were claimed to be the solution and all is well. Well that turned out to be a lie i am still having connectivity issues, screen goes blank unexpectedly, restarts by itself, then every time I turn around the battery needs charging. I've been patient with Apple the past week but now it's becoming a real nuisance which is starting to interfere with work. My 5th gen ipod touch was great two weeks ago, then I see this update for 8.0, installed it. Now its sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Is it Apple trying to cut corners or is it a intellectual problem you decide. Thankfully my son isn't using any thing from Apple so hes letting me use his phone for now.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone is running out of storage. I want to delete a bunch of photos on my phone. I have iCloud. How do I delete photos from the iPhone and keep them on my computer? I need to free up storage as my phone will no longer take photos.
The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted. -
What causes my photos to disappear off of iPhoto. They turn into ghost squares and disappear
My iphoto file has started turning my photos into llittle squares and the photos disappear. I only need to scroll over photos and they just turn into squares and the photos are gone. I have lost some very import family photos that may not be replaced.
Best bet. Restore from your backup from just before this started happening
Or back up you iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your iPhoto library

How can I control the image size when I export form iphoto, the choice is too limited, I need to send a photo under 3 MB but if I choose high quaulity it is only 1.1 and i need to keep the best quaulity I can. Thanks for help.
Any image can only be as large as the Original. With a program like Photoshop you can UpRes an image and get it to a bigger size, larger files size as well, but the actual quality of the image will be degraded, depending on the UpRes system and the original quality of the image.
iPhoto is not the program to be doing that in and I don't think it even has that option.
So I suspect the image you are trying to send isn't much bigger than what you are getting. You can also try Exporting it from iPhoto to yopur desktop and see what size you end up with. If it is still that 209KB +/- file size then that is the size of the original image. -

Thanks,Bluetooth is a wireless connection technology, but not a method for downloading photos. If you can get a Bluetooth connection between your phone and your Mac, try opening Image Capture (in the Applications folder) and see if it can import the photos. If not, try a wired connection. If you still have no luck, you'll need to talk to the phone manufacturer.

I have a 3g iPhone and I need to know how to delete old photos. Need to free up space and there is no clear way to delete these photos!! Can someone please let me know how to get rid of these pictures!!!! Help!!!
There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll. One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom. Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

I attempted to update iTunes yesterday. The update failed. iTunes now won't open and displays an error message that the program isn't localized and needs to be run in the English version. I'm in the US and the computer and program has never been used in another language. I tried reinstalling the full download for the new version and that failed as well. I logged out; shut down; restarted; retried the update; etc. Still no luck and the same message. Thoughts?

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:

HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process. -
I just updated my iTunes, and I need to delete photos from my iPod 4, and there is a Photo Library that synced to my iPod when i plugged it into my computer, and now it doesnt have the option to delete them off my iPod. How do I get rid of these photos? I have read other questions that say to plug the iPod into the computer and like un-sync it, but I downloaded the new iTunes and it doesnt have a photos tab. I saved photos from my Macbook Pro onto my Iphone (using itunes, 4 years ago). My macbook is now dead and I need to get the photos I saved off of my iphone 3GS transferred to a pc. Any help... From my PC I can only access "internal storage"
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone. The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality -
For the last month or so my icloud won't back up, it keeps telling me that there is too much storage and I need to delete some data. But I have deleted between 3-400 photos and it is still saying the same, can anyone please help
If they were deleted from your camera roll that should have resulted in a corresponding decrease in the estimated size of your next backup.
If it's still saying that you don't have enough storage to back up, read through this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847. It provides some suggestions for reducing your iCloud storage, such as deleting unneeded email.
The other area to look at is your text messages. These are included in the backup. If you have lots of photos and videos attached to your messages, that can significantly increase the size of your backup. If that's the case, deleting these may make a big difference. -

Any photo stream photos will be streamed to iPhoto on your Mac providing that photo stream is enabled in the iPhoto preferences. -
I have iPhoto 11, version 9.4.1 installed. When my library upgraded, I got a message that the photos couldn't be inported and I need to repair iPhoto permissions. How do I do that? My photos are there, but I can no oonger drag them to the photo stream.
Disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's preferences and then go back and reenable it. See if that will jump start the process. If that doesn't help try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto check its preferences to meka sure all is as you expect and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

How do I reorganize my photos on iPad 2? I need to move (not copy) photos from one album to another. When I use the copy function to another album, and then try to delete an image from the original album, the system wants to delete the photos from all albums. Please help.
You can't do it directly on the iPad - the new album functionality basically only allows you to copy photos into those new albums, you can't move them. The way that I think of it as working is that you are just creating pointers to the photos in those new albums, so if you then delete the original photo on the iPad you therefore automatically delete all the pointers to it.
If you want to re-organise your albums then you will need to do it on your computer and then sync those albums over to the iPad
