Photo issue

I have dragged the photos into the movie but they don't start where they are cued. The black space continues for a few blips. How can I fix this?

I noticed this as well, while trying to show a friend one of my photos. This seriously irritates me. Its like they are oblivious to this issue as there is no answer yet to this problem and I just downloaded and installed an almost 60 MB update for my nano and that was of no help! Come on guys, I want my photos to work properly!!!

IPod Classic: Photos Issue: Photos on iPod Show Black Screen - Replicated!

Issue / My Solution related to format = PC / Windows
*FINALLY! I've replicated the issue where some random pictures in iPod photos show as a thumbnail, DON'T show when clicked with center button (instead a nice friendly black screen is shown) but DO show when you click the center button again to start Slide Show.*
Firstly, I'll start by saying that this was one of 4-5 issues that caused me to go to my local Apple store today & get my SECOND replacement (3rd iPod Classic; Black; 160 GB). It made me laugh when the technicians told me the truth; since Apple never preps even their own people for new products to possibly get trained on so that maybe they're more technically knowledgeable then their consumers when they go on sale, this store's approach has typically been 'Problem with a 6th Generation? Here's a new one'.
It's been a quick & easy way to satisfy customers while getting them no where, but they go home thinking their new unit will work, when in reality it was never a hardware issue.
Anyways, I exchanged 2 x 160 GB & 1 x 80 GB tonight for many of the same reasons, truthfully because I felt I'm due new units after the amount of times I've reimaged (restored) each by restoring all versions of the firmware software.
Many of you have experienced the photo issue I mentioned above before going off on my tangent, many of you may not have (yet).
Well, I'm 1,000% that I replicated this one:
*When restoring one of the iPods replaced, I conveniently noticed that the pictures which showed up blank on my iPod had illegal characters in their Windows Filenames.*
*These characters can include, but are not limited to:*
*apostrophe ('); comma (,); period (.)*
*Again, the characters above are the only ones I've identified so far; granted that it should not ultimately be like this; the iPod should accept filenames containing these characters & if it can't or it's too hard for it to accept them, iTunes should display a warning to the end user to change the filenames with illegal characters.*
In conclusion, I'm about to unwrap my new 160 GB & sync it. I will avoid & hold off with the 1.0.2 update for as long as possible in hopes that a 1.0.3 comes out soon; especially since the only noticeable difference it made for me was a faster & more responsive & sturdy Cover Flow (don't even use anyways) + shuts off in my JBL Dock at work (replicated as a bug in 1.0.2; workaround: use PLAY, PAUSE & other controls on the unit itself, not with the dock or remote control on the dock.)
I learned my lesson the hard way & will definitely wait a few days until 1.0.3 is released to see how it really is by feedback posted here in this forum. For all you newbies, this is the best advice I can offer; don't bank on 1 or 2 posts, read a bunch. When you start seeing a pattern of problems, you know something can't be right. It's funny how you look at the post history of these updates (1.0.1 & 1.0.2 & you see all those who jumped to install post only the nicest things & the great enhancements they see, until a day later they're hit with the negatives of that build.

I tried your method on 3 sixth generations with this issue (2 x 80gb & 1 x 160gb). I let them sit for 12 minutes; no picture.
Changed filename to remove a comma found in the names; then I sync it again & ALL BETTER.

Jabber for windows 9.7 photo issue

I'm facing an issue with corporate photos on Jabber version 9.7. Before, with version 9.2 i had the same problem but after add an entry on the file jabber-config.xml the corporate photos were already shown.
What can be the cause for this behaviour with version 9.7?

Hope you're doing well. Guess the problem is solved. We installed this new version 9.7 of jabber on a machine with Windows XP OS. After reviewing the Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.7 Release Notes I noticed that the only available Operating Systems for jabber 9.7 are:
Operating System Support Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.7 supports the following operating systems:
•Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit)
•Windows 8 (32 bit and 64 bit). Note: Metro Interface and Windows 8 RT are not supported.
•Windows 8.1 (32 bit and 64 bit). Note: MediaNet (including deskphone video feature) does not currently support Windows 8.1

Photo issue on iPhone 4 after iOS5 update

Since i have updated my White iPhone 4 to iOS5 some of my apps pictures dont appear just the text underneath them. I thought nothing of this at first as after a while they do appear but then others will dissapear!
I tried to use the camera and i can take pictures but if i try to load the camera roll from either the camera app or photos app it will not allow me to view them. In the camera app the photos are also black.
Any assistance would be much appreciated!

I´ve got the exact same problem as well. Via photo stream I can get my pictures to my computer and my iPad and they look fine. And in the iPhone they look ok if I choose "Edit", but the previews are low res or just grey boxes, or duplicates of other images.
Via photo stream I can copy the images to my computer to save them. But since movies don´t go into photo stream, and I cant see anything on my Iphone via iPhoto or "Image capture" they will be lost if Apple doesn´t solve this problem (I´ve succeded to e-mail them to me, but then they are compressed and lores).
This happened to me a couple of days after I updated to iOS5, so it worked just fine for a couple of days before this problem appeared.
I really hope Apple will address this issue very soon, since I (and many with me) use my iPhone as my only camera.
I´ve got an iPhone 4 (my wifes iPhone 3GS has not yet shown any signs of this problem).

IOS 5 Photo Issues

So, after the upgrade to iOS 5, I'm having a million issues with my photos. It's as if my iPad (and my iPhone and iPod touch) won't recognize the 15,000+ pictures I have in various folders. It will recognize a few and then sync, but it wound up giving me blank albums, the photos are out of order or in different folders. I'm at the end of my rope and I'm hoping someone can help. (and yes, I deleted the photo cache; that just seemed to make it work)
Am I alone in this issue?

To me it seems that the ordering is only broken in album/folders that were imported. If you create any new album on your device, sorting is as with iOS 4 (by date/time)
This gives an easy way (workaround) to have photos be sorted the old way with iOS5:
Import all your photos via iTunes. They will be in wrong order in the imported folders/album(s).
Create a new album
Copy all photos into the new album. (You end up with two albums with the same content. As the pictures are linked only into the second album, this should not use any extra space)
The new album contains photos in the right order.
Never use the old album, just irgnore it. Once Appple fixes the stupid bug, you may remove the album you manually created.

Saving photo issue

When I save photos from facebook, they are not showing up in my photo stream, where are they?

My mom is having this exactly same issue ever since she updated to IOS 6 and the newest update to the FB app?
We dont see any error or anything it acts like it did before the update but we can't find the pics anywhere?

Synching photos issues on ipod nano 7th generation

I have a windows 7 64 bits PC. In the PC I created a folder with 4 .jpg photos. Using the iTunes I tried to synch tose photos with my iPod nano. I got 0 photos on the iPod. I already updated the itunes and iPhone software to the latest versions. The issue was not solved.

Before you sync, go to "music" in ipod menu (in Itunes) and select "sync photos". This is not selected by default. Select accordingly (same with music, podcast, etc.) then perform the sync again. Cheers!

Recent iTunes syncing Photos issue

Recently I've been having issues syncing iPhoto albums to my iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. It results in an error such as :-
"The <device> cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to."
This usually is during the import phase of the process despite me deleting all the photos in my device, therefore nothing to import.
The AppleTV (Gen 1) is somewhat more descriptive by explicitly stating "iTunes cannot sync to the Apple TV <ATV name> because of a problem on your computer. The disk could not be read from or written to.".
I'm inclined to think this only started happening with the latest version of the iPhoto 9.3 with Aperture 3.3.1 integration. Meanwhile my iTunes is 10.6.3.
Is this a known bug? Has anyone else seen this issue?

That can sometimes indicate a photo cache issue. If you remove the current ipod photo cache, does that get you past the error?

IPad photo issues with third party apps

Up until recently I've had no problem with the issue I'm about to describe.
When I download my raw format photos from my camera using the SD card reader I cannot view full photos in any third party apps such as the Photoshop app or any other I've tried. I just get a small thumbnail version, very low res. I can view them fine in the iPad photos app. If I sync my iPad with my computer and put the photos back into the iPad with iTunes they work fine with all my third party photo apps. Any suggestions?

This appears to be a problem that cropped up with iOS 4. Prior to iOS 4, when a third party app would allow a user to browse to a RAW photo, the app would get a jpeg representation that was generally of high resolution.
As of iOS 4, when third party apps get an image from these RAW images through the Photo Library the image that is retuned is of a very low (thumbnail) resolution. In our testing this appears to be limited to RAW images from Nikon cameras. When you sync your iPad the RAW photos are processed and then resync'd as jpegs on your iPad. You'll find these photos will now show up at the expected resolution once they go through the syncing process.
We reported the bug to Apple and have not had any luck in getting any assistance for a work around through Developer Technical Support. They have explained that the iOS always grabs the jpeg preview from a RAW photo's data. Presumably if the particular RAW format does not include a jpeg preview you'd get nothing, but we do not have the data to indicate if there are any formats out there that don't store a jpeg preview as well as the RAW data.
You will find that a couple of third party apps have found some work-around to the issue. To date our only idea has been to access the RAW image directly and parse it for the jpeg preview ourselves. We are hoping the issue is resolved in the next version of the iOS, but don't have any information yet to indicate that it will or will not be.

IOS6 Faces Key Photo Issue. Key Photos not working

Hi, I recently bought a new iPhone 5 and when I did my update and went to Photos/Faces/ I noticed that my Key Photos for my Faces were not showing and it chose random images. This used to work with iOS6 and my iPhone 4. Please provide a timeframe for when this issue will be fixed. Thanks.

Sync Photos issues

I have a few issues with the sync Photos process.
1. After choosing to sync photos from a particular folder ('My Pictures' by default) I'm seeing that it will not include photos that are in 'My Pictures' if there are subfolders in 'My Pictures'. For example, say I have a 'My Pictures' folder and two subfolders 'Vacation1' and 'Vacation2'. I have pictures in both subfolders and also in the 'My Pictures' folder itself. When I choose the 'All Photos' radio button under 'Sync photos' (instead of 'Selected folders') it ignores the pictures that are in 'My Pictures' and only uses the pictures in the subfolders. This seems like inconsistent behavior.
2. I'm finding the need to only sync with one folder branch to be very limiting. Essentially iTunes is dictating to me how I have to organize my images on my hard drive if I want to load them in my device. Ideally I'd like to sync across various folders on various drives because my images are stored that way due to the fact that they are linked to various projects, etc. Can this be done; am I overlooking something? What would be ideal is if the 'Sync photos' checkbox had the option to add multiple folders.

iTunes has nothing to do with the importing of photos from the Camera Roll. Those are imported from the iPhone to the computer with Windows Camera and Scanner Wizard. You can also access it with Windows Explorer, select the phone in the list of removable drives or cameras and that will do it.
If Windows is not recognizing the iPhone connected to it, then you need to look at this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Follow instructions there to see if you can get Windows to recognize the phone is connected. The last step is to completely remove iTunes and reinstall it. To remove it in Windows, follow the instructions in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925

Viewing Photos Issue (Photos Won't Display) - Noki...

Why isit when i click to view my photos, it loads them but doesnt actually display the image and takes around 10 seconds if not more to load the image for almost every single line of photos that i scroll down.
I'm running the latest firmware and didn't have this issue before i got the latest firmware or did a hard reset.
Anyone else with the same problems or ideas?

Try Nokia Photo Browser from Nokia Beta Labs/Ovi store, may not solve problem but cool as .............

Camera still photo issue

It seems there is an issue with OS4 displaying the photos improperly when transferred or emailed. Still photos won't display properly when taken in portrait (upright). They look and display properly on the iphone itself, but not when emailed to someone. They display rotated (sideways). See for yourself

I took four pictures, one from each of the four rotations of the phone, and emailed them to my gmail account.
In the phone, they all displayed upright.
In gmail in IE, they all displayed upright.
In Outlook, only the pic taken with the phone rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise was upright. The other pictures were displayed with varying rotations.
I think it's an issue with the mail client.

Photo Issue please help

Hey guys.....
I have to make a montage using 200 photos. Very simple piece with a slight zoom into each.
I have sized all the photos in PS to the same image size with a black matte( this way there scale value is equal in FCP).
I drop them onto the timeline in FCP than add a cross dissolve. I scale the first photo from 90-100. I want to copy and paste this motion to the rest. When I do this the scale values are diffrent for the photos 90-102.3, not sure why the key frame values would change?
This is causing a pixelated effect on the photos. I really do not have the time to do each photo individually. Also if I add the cross dissolve after the motion paste than the photos scale key frame clips ends too early.

So this is my solution for now... I think that I am having issue with my choice in the inital photo to copy.
I set up all the photos with a cross dissolve. Each pic is 4seconds. I than take a picture of to the side with NO cross dissolves and apply the scale from 90-100. Than copy and paste its attributes to the set of photos. It has maintained the scale key frame numbers across the board.

Photo issues and slow macbook pro

Can anyone help my out with the issue that Im having, everytime I open my photos, it has to reload the pictures. so when I leave the program still logged in, it has reload them all over again.
it never used to do this. they used to be there instantly. im also noticing that the computer is starting up slowly, and sometimes it says that there is another computer using the same IP address.
can someone shed some light on this?
