Photo keeps showing up in different locations

Among the glitches that I am finding, the one and only photo on my home page will not stay where it is supposed to be. My husband can apparently see it just fine in Internet Explorer, but here at home both Safari and Firefox show the photo at the bottom or in the middle of the page. I have deleted and re-added the photo over and over and over. I clear my browser history every time I re-upload the site.
iWeb 09 is also refusing to recognize the font sizes and colors that I used in iWeb 08. Text boxes with thick lines around them are not loading, either. A "contact me" box (widget) that worked fine in 08 is not even visible in 09 (At least not in Safari or Firefox - not sure about IE.)
Is there any fix for these? I am in an absolute panic - my site looks dreadful and I'm getting more and more hits every day

I think it is just a Firefox issue. . .will post again if it is still an issue once I reinstall Firefox on my Mac.

How to store movies & TV shows in a different location

Hi there!
I've seen many of you asking (unfortunatelly with no clear answer) how to store movies & TV shows into another location away from the iTunes Music folder. This idea is to store videos on an AirDisk drive and keep music on the MacBook for example!
I've been trying to do so in the past few days but some pb have occured...
- it is possible to replace the Movies folder by an alias pointing to a Movies folder in the AirDisk drive: existing movies will be playable in iTunes.... the problem is that when I try to add new movies iTunes do not store them into the Movies folder on the AirDisk but in the local music folder (very strange as it is a video file!).
Has anyone succeeded in using such mechanisms?!

You cannot delete them from iCloud.
They are purchased and will always be available in iTunes in iCloud for you to download again if you wish.

Photos from my photo stream show up in a location that pictures were not taken.

Hey guys, this is sorta creepy. I took some pitures with my Iphone4S and now when I click on photo stream or camera roll and then click on places, 59 of my photos show up in Algeria. I have never been to Algeria nor do I have any friends in Algeria. So far 59 of my pictures are there and I can't get them back. Every few weeks they come swipe more of my pics.
This is really creeping me out. I can't delete the photos in Algeria and I'm getting scared to take pics with my Iphone.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Is your Location Services ON?
Double click the Home button, delete Camera in multitask-bar.
In Settings > Location Services > Camera > switch it off.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
Switch Camera Location Services back on.

Deleted photos keep showing up again.

Since I upgraded to IOS6, My phone lost my address book and brought in duplicate photos that I cannot get rid of. How do I delete photos from an iphone 4S? The keep coming back and the imported photo file will not allow them to be removed. The iCloud seems to just keep restoring files regardless of my wish to remove them.
Very frustrating and little help that appears relevant or useful.
Anyone find a solution to this? I am thinking I will have to do a hard reset and try to start over updating it again.
Any help would be appreciated.

I posted this on another thread and thought I would add it here too...
I have figure out what is causing this issue I believe. I have a macbook pro which I use to sync my iPhone. I also have a Mac Pro that I will occasionally hook my iphone up too so it can charge. I have my phone set NOT to automatically sync for this reason. However when I plug it into either machine the sync comes up for some reason and normally does once for a longer period and then again yet if you look in iTunes it doesn't show that it's synching. I use to always cancel it because I was afraid it would mess up my phone. I one day decided... I wonder if that's what's causing the application issue. so I stopped canceling it and just letting it do it's thing and I didn't have the issue. Well one day I accidentally canceled it because someone sent me a text and I wasn't paying attention... and guess what? I had the issue with all the applications wanting to be put back on the phone!!!

Navigation Bar keeps showing up in different spots on my pages? Why?

Hello I have a question and hope anyone can helpe me on this.
Im designing a photograhy website for myself. When I add the navagation bar in my bottom Master page, then of course it shows up in my top ( A-Master pages ). But here is my problem, when I hit preview to take a look
my navagation bar is in different spots on my pages. For example, Preview homepage in center of my website instead on being at the bottom of the site where i want it. The on the second page is on top of my page and not at the bottom
where 1 want it.
When I design it in ( Design mode ) looks great but when I hit preview Navagation Baar is in different spot. I tried figuring it out myself but no clue I even tried searching on-line nothing that can maybe help me.
I hope someone can tell me what Im missing, this really means alot if someone can help me where Im doing wrong at.

Keeping 3 Macs At Different Locations Identical

Background: I have several Macs, but 3 I need to keep identical in terms of data - docs, files, folders, email and such (the other Macs are generally work stations for staff). I am a businessperson with an office, an office at home and a MBP I move around with. I have sensitive client data I need access to day and night (whenever the call comes or the email arrives). What I do and have done for years is zip everything new to myself and update each computer nightly - manually. Waste of time and getting OLD! Cloud based worries me as if any of my client data got into public domain, I could have real issues.
Question: What is the most practical, efficient and safe way to have the 3 crucial Macs get the daily data and update themselves automatically (without having to do the daily manual routine) so that where ever and when ever I need it, on whichever computer I'm on,I have current data?
Do I need a dedicated off site server? If so, how would each Mac auto update itself?
Any suggestions/advice most appreciated.

First, a general comment. Others have suggested that you use a cloud storage solution. That would be easier, but you would be entrusting what you describe as "sensitive client data" to strangers with no real responsibility for it. That's unacceptable in my opinion, but you may feel differently. If you do, then my proposed solution isn't worthwhile for you. On the other hand, my way of doing it has the advantage that your data will be no less private than it is already.
To set up an SSH server, you need to do three things:
(1) Open the Sharing preference pane in System Preferences, and check the box labeled "Remote Login."
(2) Open the Network preference pane, select your connection to the Internet, and click the Advanced button. Select the TCP/IP tab. You'll see a pulldown menu labeled "Configure IPv4." Most likely, it will be set to "Using DHCP." If so, make a note of the IP address, the subnet mask, and the router address. In the menu, select "Manually," and re-enter those same values. If "Manually" is already selected, you can skip this step, but still note the IP address.
(3) Assuming you're behind an NAT router, set it to forward TCP connections on port 22 to the IP address of your server. If your router has an active firewall, you must also create a rule to allow this traffic. I can't tell you specifically how to do this, because I don't know what kind of router you have, but they're mostly pretty much the same.
See if you can get that far, or if this is too much trouble for you. *If you do it right*, your email and other Internet functions won't be affected.

i having SAME problem :
location servics enables (nothing in list)(no app in list which accesses location),
icloud "find my mac" enabled,
and WHEN I TRY TO FIND MY MACBOOK ON icloud or "find my iphone app" on iphone.
it says:
"ONLINE,LOCATION UNAVAILABLE"
and one more thing, when i set "time & date" to "set automactic according to my location"
then the result is "unable to determine location at this time."

Why cant i log into my icloud accout, keeps saying having trouble connecting to server. I have tried on two different computers in two different locations. I am new to this and just learning, getting very frustrated with the whole smart phone thing!

why am i having so much trouble trying to log into my icloud account. I have been trying for 2 days now on two different computers in 2 different locations. I can get to the log in screen, type in my apple id and password, then keep getting screen saying icloud showed an error connecting to server. Why does PSE 10 Organizer jumble up photos on the same date from different locations ?

I have PSE 10 installed on a PC with Windows 7. My camera is a Nikon D90 using a Sandisk 8 gb SD card. When I take photos at different locations on the same date and download them into the Organizer , instead of keeping the photos from the different locations together by location, it jumbles them all up. It does not keep them in order by time taken from first to last for that day , it just mixes them all up in random order. Why ?

When you use Albums and Keyword Tags, you aren't moving the images around (they stay in their folders) - you just look at them differently.
What you can try is this:-
1) select one of your folders in folder view so that it displays all of those images in filename order
2) click on the instant album button (to the top right of the thumbnails)
This will generate an album with the same name as the folder
3) Now switch to Thumbnail view
4) click on the new albumb name on the right side
Now, all the images should be in date/time order - you may have adjust the options
The real power of the Keywrd Tags is the many different ways you can look at the images.
If you have a Keyword Tag structure like this:-
Places
     Scotland
            Holyrood
            Britania
Then if you assign the Holyrood and britania tags to the appropiate photos, there are various ways of viewing the photos.
Selecting just Holyrood would show only the Holyrood ones
Selecting Scotland would show both Holyrood and Britania ones.
The only limit seems to be your own imagination

People who have Photoshop, but don't have Lightroom, need ACR so that they can use Raw files. Without ACR they could do nothing with those (they may also like having ACR so that they can work on other kinds of image using the same kinds of adjustments and techniques, as are used with Raw files).
People who have Lightroom, can get access to Raw files regardless whether ACR is present or not. They can use Lightroom on other kinds of image also, using the same methods. LR can pass images directly into Photoshop without passing via ACR (or else does so transparently, which amounts to substantially the same thing).
ACR does not, strictly speaking, even need to be installed for this external editing to happen. In fact, not even PS needs to be - since a different image editor can be used instead, while still retaining the Adobe Raw conversion etc.
Lightroom "subcontracts out" specialised external tasks, in this workflow, but is still your "main contractor": the image is otherwise located, viewed, managed, adjusted/presented and output entirely using LR.
So IMO we can divide image processing into:
operations that involve pixels and layers and layer masks and adjustment layers etc (of the kind done inside Photoshop)
operations that involve parametric edits (of the kind done in ACR where you are not using a Lightroom based workflow; otherwise, done inside Lightroom)
When PS is called in, that's because those tasks are impossible or unsuitable to do in Lightroom. But those tasks can't be done in ACR either - by definition, since LR and ACR have exactly the same image processing "feature set".
Lightroom is irrelevant to the Bridge + ACR + PS workflow. This workflow requires both your PS and your ACR to be current enough, to support your Raw format etc.

Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

My browser dowloads everything automatically in MyDocuments. But, for security reasons, I need to setup a different download path, to a different location, where I keep my personal files. How do I change the download path? Thanks, Dan.

My Firefox 3.6 is setup to download anything automatically in MyDocuments (which I never use).
For security reasons, I designated a different location on my hard drive, where I keep my confidential files.
How do I change this downloading path? I tried to change it by going to "Tools-Options-Save Files To", but it does not work.

Previews keep showing up wrong (as different jpgs) HELP!

I am attempting to make a book but keep having problems as the previews of my jpgs are showing p as different pics. It's a certain set of photos that it keeps happening with. I look at the preview and it's another pic from my library. But when I click on it and make it big, it's the photo I want. There are about 50 pics in my library that it happens with. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? I have considered saving my library elsewhere and reinstalling iphoto but am a little weary. Please help!

You have two options.
-select the 50 images within iPhto and share>export them to a new folder on the desktop.
Delete them from within iPhoto and empty iPhoto's trash
Import them again.
-Rebuild your library choosing only the thumbnail options.
Try this:
Before doing a rebuild make sure iPhoto's trash bin is emptied. You can do this by control clicking on the trash bin, or from the menu bar under iPhoto.
Close iPhoto
Duplicate the iPhoto Library folder
Drag the duplicate to the desktop (hopefully you have enough room on your hard drive for the duplicate.)
Launch iPhoto holding down the Command and Option keys until you see the rebuild options screen.
Choose the first three options. If you were missing photos in your library, also choose the last option. Be advised that you will get a roll of orphaned photos and it might be quite huge. Most of them will already be in your iPhoto library, but use caution when deleting anything from this roll until you are sure the photos are still in your library in another place. It might be a good idea to share/export this roll of photos just in case you need to import them again.
Back to the rebuild, depending on the size of your library it might take some time. When it is done, hopefully your photos will be there.
You might see some unexpected results as I did when I did a rebuild. Photos had been moved to wrong dates, video clips had lost their duration info and some were even orphaned from the jpg pointer file. It took me some time to straighten it out again.
This is the reason to make a duplicate before you rebuild, in case you do not like the result. If you don't like the result, close iPhoto, then delete the rebuilt library and drag the duplicate back into the Pictures folder making sure the name is iPhoto Library. Launch iPhoto and it should open the library in the Pictures folder.

i thought the photo stream only holds 1000 i usuaaly take each month and save them to iphoto but if thats the my ipad should say the same amount and it doesnt - it shows 2.5 gig which is correct for iphoto. and i havent ever had that much but if for some reason icloud has that much saved how do i delete and again if it does why doesnt ipad show that amount _ HELP!
