Photo library pictures not showing properly

I have recently restored my iPhone 4s but when I checked my photos some of them are just black white or half white...I have tried removing all my images and adding them again but that hasn't worked...Any ideas?

While in the event mode go to the View ➙ Sort menu option and set the sort to By Date, Descending so that the latest imports will be at the top of the window. Then check to see if you can find your photos.
Are you using iTunes to sync the photos between your iPhone and MBP or do you have Photo Stream setup in iPhoto to automatically import the PS photos?

ICloud Photo Library does not show photos from photostream on other devices.

When I choose to use the iCloud photo library (beta) on my iPhone, the only photos that I can see are recent photos I've taken with my phone. If I disable this and only use the photostream, then all my photos are shown on my phone, including photos I took with my camera and uploaded to my Mac. What's the deal? I like being able to access my older photos or photos taken with other devices on my phone without using storage space. Am I able to do this with the iCloud photo library? Is it bc it's still in beta that I can't?

Yeah - I'm sticking with Photostream, and iPhoto right now. Once the new photo app is available across the board, and there is more literature on it, I will look into using the cloud, but I'm happy to keep it on my Mac. With the automatic import of Photostream photos, it really doesn't require a lot of work to keep photos on the Mac, and with a regular backup to TimeMachine, I'm comfortable that it is all backed up and safe....

Photo booth pictures not Showing in Photo Booth

When i open photo booth, none of my last pictures i have taken show up in the bottom of photo booth, is there anyway i can get them to show up?

Just a thought, but you could've inadvertantly clicked on the little x at the bottom left of the pic. Not to fear though, they are in your photo booth directory.

Photos 1.0 not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary folder/file after update install

I installed the update that changed my iPhoto to Photos 1.0, and the new Photos program is not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder (not sure to call it file or folder since it is actually a folder with all my pics but it acts more like a file) after update install. The Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder shows to be 55 gb in size, and it shows to be loaded into the photos program, but there are maybe a few weeks of pictures showing instead of a few years. Lots of pictures in the 55 gb are not showing for some reason.

No - iPhotos has not replaced anything - it is new and an addition - iPhoto is still on your system in the applications folder and still works just fine
Outlook is not supported by Photos - not sure if the support must come form Apple or MS as Photos uses a different interface to external packages than iphoto did

I recently upgraded my mac desktop to oxs 10.9.2 and when I open my i photo library there are no pictures. The message is "Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade.Scared to hit upgrade!!!

I recently upgraded my mac desktop to oxs 10.9.2 and when I opened i photo, it says the photo livrary needs to be upgraded to work with this version of I photo. Where are my pictures? The message is "Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of Iphoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete". I'm scared to upgrade!! Does this mean my photos can't be read once I upgrade? Where are my pictures?

First have you backed up your computer, if you have and your iPhoto library is in the back up you have nothing to be concerned about. If you are not using at least Time Machine to back up your system then you should be concerned because well frankly that is simply bad computing practice and you risking all of your data.
As for the message you received all that means is your system was using an earlier version of iPhoto with the version of OS X you previously had installed and now that you have updated to 10.9.2 (Mavericks) your version of iPhoto has also upgraded and needs to get ready to import all of your pictures. If you have backup then you should be confident the upgrade will go through smoothly, Apple generally has very good instructions and will not give bad advice, second guessing them may be cautious but is generally unnecessary.

My photo album does not show the pictures I have taken, they show up on my iMac through iCloud but not on my phone. Also my videos do not show up that I take.

Did not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

Pictures not showing up, when uploaded?

Hey I have a website www.anchorstudios.ca. Anyways I have been using it for quite awhile for our business. Lately we have had problems with certain pages in our websites. For whatever reason instead of a picture there would be a question mark there. Anyways when I go back into Iweb it looks normal. I try uploading again, and it is still not there. I have tried switching pictures, which either made that picture not show up, or it made different pictures not work. Sometimes there are also problems with the buttons. I also tried deleting the whole page and making a different one? Anybody who has had problems and any success getting rid of this please let me know. Here is the page we have the most problems with:

Darryl ~ If you haven't already done so recently, in iWeb choose +File > Publish All to .Mac+ and then, in a browser, view those pages which previously had photos missing.
If that didn't help, it may be a system problem...
Quit iWeb and in +Applications > Utilities >+ double-click on +Disk Utility+. In the column on the left, click on +Macintosh HD+. Click on the +First Aid+ tab then on +Repair Disk Permissions+. When that has finished just note whether or not many permissions were reported & repaired. Now restart iWeb and choose +File > Publish All to .Mac+. Then, in a browser, view those pages which previously had photos missing.
If that didn't help, quit iWeb and in +Library > Preferences+ look for a file called either:
com.apple.iWeb.preferences.plist
or:
com.apple.iWeb.plist
Drag that file to the Trash. Restart iWeb (it will automatically create a "clean" plist file) and choose +File > Publish All to .Mac+. Then, in a browser, view those pages which previously had photos missing.

PDF pictures not showing

I've exported a keynote to pdf in order to share with people and so far have feedback from one windows user that some photo's are not showing for them whereas all is fine on my imac.
It turns out that keynote pic's that are masked are selectively not showing for this person- again, the exact same pdf file is fine for me. I went into the adobe reader settings for this person and the settings (default) are just like my adobe settings... no settings need changing that I can see (i.e. pictures turned off or such...
One other bit of info... the person sees a shadow or outline of where the masked photo would be... but the slide background is showing. And again the pdf looks just fine on my computer???
Any suggestions other than having to go thru my presentation and redoing photo's so no masking...

It is true Acrobat Pro can flatten layers. I just exported a Keynote file to PDF containing masked images and there was only one layer generated. Can you confirm you file has more than one layer? You can do this in Adobe reader with the View> Navigation Panels> Layers Menu item. Transparency is a separate issue.
Flattening layers and flattening transparency are two different things.
Flattening Layers makes 1 layer. Flattening transparency removes the alpha or transparency value assigned to objects by rendering the overall effect of multiple overlapping objects and blending modes into a single pixel-image like a tiff and replacing the objects (largely – sometimes line-work gets left) in the file. This is used in print world because high-end image image setters have no way to interpret transperency that illustration programs (and Keynote) can generate in there PDF files.
Which is a long way to saying if you save in a PDF format prior to transparency PDF 1.5 and below I think?? you'll get rid of transperency from your file. Thhere are also newer PDF/X standards used in print industry but I have no experience of them.
Print from Preview application to a PDF would probably flatten a file. I get options for various PDF formats in my print dialogues but you may not because I have additional software installed that may be generating them. Sounds like the update did the trick anywho.

When I "enhance" a photo, it does not show up in slideshow, it is just black. I am using Iphoto. I also can't email these "enhanced" photos.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Photo library is not backing up when icloud backs up

MY iPad Air 8.1.1 and my iPhone 5s 8.1.1 both give me a message saying, " icloud photo library has not backed up in 16 days. Connect to wifi and backup." iCloud backs up daily. Why are my photos not included in this backup. I have iCloud Drive turned on. Should I turn it off? Help!

Try deleting your existing backup and backing up again. An inability to back up to iCloud can be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup and choose Turn Off & Delete at the prompt. Then go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

Twas quite a hassle if I am honest which was eventually resolved but I don't feel qualified to help anyone through the process as it required a trip to my local apple store and a genius bar appointment.
Personally, I would do anything like moving pictures out of folders etc. Certainly not creating a new users. i don't think that is an elegant solution
Try the following which MAY just about rescue the situation for you but if they don't work you may have to do something more drastic.
(1) Holding down Cmd & Alt at the same time, start iPhoto by clicking on the iPhoto icon. From the resulting menu choose Rebuild photo library by selecting all available options given to you and then pressing REBUILD!
If that doesn't work
(2) Fire up Utilities. Go to migration assistant. Chose 'From another Time machine back-up'. Open the 'Users' option that comes up next and from there select Pictures, then uncheck everything else like Applications etc (you don't want to do a full migration of everything) and click go.
If that doesn't work, take a deep breath and this step is rather complicated but it worked for me. First of all close iPhoto! Then go to new Finder window.
From the Finder window choose Pictures, then iPhoto library, press CMD and the letter i. It brings up a new window. Go to Sharing & permissions. From there select the padlock to unlock settings. and then select User account, then press the 'cog' icon next to +/- abd choose Apply to enclosed items.
This may take a while. Once completed, re-open iPhoto.
And that should (I stress should) cure it.

The solution in my case was to start iPhoto and let it update the library, even thu itunes was set up to sync with Aperture.

Iphoto is not responding. I get the message, "Your photo library was not found. Do you want to find your iPhoto Library?

IPhoto is not responding except with the message: " Your photo library was not found. Do you want to find your iPhoto Library". Then, "iPhoto can't continue without a photo library. Make sure the disk containing your iPhoto Library is connected.
1. What disk are they talking about?
2. I can access my photos by clicking on ALL IMAGES in SEARCH FOR.
3. If I trash iphoto and re-install from my Install Disc 1, will I lose the photos?
4. If so, what can I do to save my photos and get iPhoto working?

My library will not show up in Itunes after moving library

I moved my library folder from my C drive (my primary drive) to my D drive because I was running out of space on my C drive. I did this through My Computer and not through iTunes. Then, my library does not show up in iTunes.
I moved the folder back to my C drive and everything, but to no avail. I read the tutorial on the Apple website called "Moving your iTunes folder," and I read the first 1,000 or so posts and nothing really solved my problem. There were other posts that were sort of related, but my case differs in that I moved the folder back to the same place it was before and nothing showed up.
This happened before, and I was able to fix it. I thought I did the same thing again, but apparently not, since it's still not showing up. I tried every imaginable thing. I looked at under preferences, advanced, and then made sure the iTunes music folder was the same as the one I had my files in. Still, nothing is showing up. I know where my files are and everything, but iTunes acts like no files were even imported.
I have tried importing songs into iTunes, but it doesn't show up on iTunes, so that rules out importing my files again.
Please help me. I really am at a loss of what to do. Thanks so much!

hey.
finally somebody with the same problem! i bought a new external drive because i was running out of space and backed up my entire library. then my computer crashed and i wanted to take advantage of a clean drive and not add my whole library back onto my computer. i'd love to be able to access my music folder on the external and have that show up as my library on iTunes when connected...
i followed all the steps as closely as possible and am pretty confident that my advanced preferences in iTunes are correct, but the library does not show these songs from the external drive. have you had any feedback or figured it out on your own?! i hope so, i'm at a deadend.

I am using a Dell computer and my itunes library does not show up in my apple tv under computer. I am sure I just need to change settings in my computer to allow access to apple tv but I do not know how to do that. Any help? My apple tv has internet connection. Thank you
