Photo managing on iphone 3g 2.2 ?
is there any application i can install on my iPhone 3g 2.2 that i can delete photos from iPhone directly and put them in albums?
Thnaks
The only photos you can delete from your iPhone are photos that were captured by your iPhone.
Photo folders or albums are created on your computer and transferred to your iPhone and removed from your iPhone via the iTunes sync process only. Photo management of such photos - creating new albums, transferring photos from one album to another, and deleting such photos cannot be done on the iPhone - just as you can't delete music from your iPhone.

How to sync pictures from "Photo Library" on iphone 4 to computer to manage them?
This is my senerio! I recently got an iPhone 4...before this phone, i had a Droid through Verizon. Yet, this iPhone 4 service is still through Verizon. When i got the iPhone, i wanted all my pictures from my old phone, the Droid, on this iPhone. The people at Verizon transferred them over. Those pictures were put into the "Photo Library" of my iPhone. I only have say...about maybe 200 pictures. They were all duplicated, many many times! So now i have over 800 of the same pictures in my "Photo Library" how do i delete the duplicates?? I've noticed i cannot delete pictures using the trash can through "Photo Library" you have to be in the Camera Roll to do so. Here are my big questions...
1. How do i delete pictures off my phone through "Photo Library" without deleting them all?!
2. How do i get the photos from "Photo Library" onto my computer, or iTunes to be able to manage them?!
I want to pick and choose then delete. I do not want to delete my WHOLE Photo Library.
Again, remember, i never got these already photos from a computer, i got them from another phone!
Someone, please help me! This is so ridiculous! The photo sync is one way - computer to iphone.
You ould have to e-mail them to yourself. When you sync photos to your iphone the current pics will be deleted.
The iphone is not a storage device, it simply mirrors the selected content of your computer. -
Hello,
when I connect my iPhone to WinPC, I go on the explorer to copy photos and I see a bunch of confuding subfolders (85XG7 , 956G8, ...), where I have to search for latest photo. Can I get rid of this and having only one, as it was in former times.
What is the sorting mechanism of iTunes synchronized photo albums? I named my images from 001 to n and removed exif tags " Maker" and "Model ". Still on iPhone I see disordered photos and have to search.
The photo app has photos under a " moments " view. Here the photos are sorted by time and place. In about 70 % of the synchronized Photos fits it. The rest is on the day of the synchronization and an arbitrary place . What metadata is queried?
Is it possible to sort photo albums by date (named like 20140401 xxx) and have the newest on on top?
The good the usability of iOS is, the photo management is cumbersome
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1 , iTunes 11.1.5.5, Windows 7Can do all that with the syncing process.

I do not want all the photos from my iPhone downloading to my wife's iPhone from iCloud? We share an iCloud account. How can I prevent the download to my wife's iPhone from iCloud. .The "Upload to My Photo Stream" is turned off on my iPhone. . I am running 8.1.3.
I have a related question. In order to same space on my iPhone is there a way to upload the photos to the iCloud and then delete them from my iPhone. The way to keep the photos from downloading to your wife's phone would be for her to go to Settings > iCloud > Photos > and turn off iCloud Photo Library. If that isn't an option, the other option would be for her to have her own Apple ID ( and possibly explore the new family sharing options https://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/ )
Regarding the "related question" see the quotes below from iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
Deleting a photo or video from your Photos app will also remove the item from iCloud Photo Library and from your iCloud storage allocation. Photos and videos you remove can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. After 30 days, your content will be removed from the Recently Deleted album.
If you want to reduce the space used by photos on your phone, rather than deleting them see the following:
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your iOS device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. iCloud Photo Library stores the original, high-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and can keep lightweight, device-optimized versions on each of your devices. As long as you have enough storage, recent photos and videos that you access the most will stay on your device at full resolution.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You need an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud. -
How can i download photos to my IPhone after Disable and Delete ICloud Photo Library?
I`ve started to use Icloud Photo Library, but i`ve decided to not use anymore because just a few photos were uploaded to the cloud.
So, I`ve turned off my ICloud Photo Library entirely at Manage Storage section of ICloud Settings. After that i`ve been trying to re-download my photos to my IPhone, by "Transfer and Keep Originals" set up, but it isn`t working! You cannot. this is how the iphone handles photos.
ALL PHOTOS synced to iphone can be accessed via the "Photo Library". Those same photos can also be accessed from the folders that you synced. Just as you can find a book in your public library and you find the same book in the fiction section.
Stop trying to resolve it as there is nothign to resolve. All is working as it should. -
When i try to upload photos from my iphone iphoto freezes after a few have been uploaded, force quit shows that it is still running. I have left it running for days with no change. In addition Places is continually running, would this have an effect?
Help much appreciated. The next step is to repair your main library: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

i upload all of my photos from my iphone 5 onto my macbook air to get more space on my phone, and now whenver i try to upload it says there is no more storage or there was a problem transferring a picture. what can I do to get more space onto my iphoto? I've tried putting the pictures on flashdrives, but iphoto would no tlet me transfer.
I don't know how large the SSD (solid state hard drive) is, or how big your iPhone 5 is, but with some iPhones having 64GB and some Airs having as little as 64GB and some having as much as 512GB it's not hard to see how storing the contents of your iPhone 5 on your Macbook Air could run you out of space.
Go to the Macbook Air and bring up a finder window and pull the Go menu down and go to the Computer. Right click on the Macintosh HD and select get info. See if there is any available space on the MacBook Air. If not you are out of SSD space (you're storing more on your Macbook Air than it has storage for). I'm not sure if iTunes can store its library on an external hard drive or quite how you would make that happen. But even if you managed that, when the hard drive was disconnected, you would lose access to your library. Using a smart media card might be possible (I don't know) but it would probably be irritatingly slow. If you have a small Air and a big iPhone you might just have to find a different computer to sync to. Just remember a 64GB iPhone is a big chunk of SSD for a Macbook Air. I did it with my previous and my current Air but even my previous one had 256GB and I really just fit. -
Why cant I drag and drop photos onto my iPhone in iPhoto?
I just want to put some photos on my iPhone!
The iPhone does not support disk mode.
If you use iPhoto on your Mac for photo storage and management, you can create an iPhoto album or albums for selected photos that you want transferred to your iPhone. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select sync photos from iPhoto. Choose selected albums and select the iPhoto albums in the window below followed by a sync. The named iPhoto albums will be transferred to your iPhone with the order of the photos in the iPhoto albums retained.
If you want to remove an album of photos, deselect the album under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync. To remove select photos, remove the photos from the iPhoto album in iPhoto that you've selected to be transferred to your iPhone under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.
To add additional photos to your iPhone, add the photos to an iPhoto album in iPhoto that you've selected to be transferred to your iPhone under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync, or create a new iPhoto album for the photos, select the new album under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.
Photos transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync process. -
I want to take the photos off my iPhone and put them directly onto an external hard disk - I don't have any room left on my computer. I want to bypass iPhoto altogether. When I link my iPhone to my computer, it only opens in iTunes, which only gives me the option to save my photos to iPhoto. Help! This is seriously frustrating!.
Additionally, I'd like to be able to take the 2000+ photos out of iPhoto and put them on a disk in a folder. I have managed to export them to the hard disk but it's just plonked all 2000+ photos in a list - not ideal if I want to use it for anything else. And then I have to manually delete the photos from iPhoto. Is there not a quick and easy way of dealing with this?
Anyone got any bright ideas? Thanks for your help!I too would like to be able to do this. Just put them where i want the. IFTT a scripting app will put the images in dropbox for you , but its been pretty iffy.

I had a thought about any changes we may have both made recently - in The Camera settings we turned HDR off - because we had 2 images of the same photo.
Maybe the import is failing because of the duplicatesI've managed to fix this.
After 3 attempts, Image Capture (instead of iPhoto) was finally able to pull my photos/video off my iPhone. There were a few shots missing, I'm guessing those were the "corrupt" ones. No idea how or why I could end up with corrupt images, the only shots on my phone were ones that I'd taken with my phone.
After that, I opened up Photos on my iPhone, selected every photo and every video and deleted them all.
Then I took a couple shots with the phone, re-opened iPhoto, and everything seemed to work dandy.
Still. Lame. -
Deleting photos from photo library on iphone
Hello people,
i am a new user of iphone and i am not able to figure out the solution for deleting photos from the photo library of iphone.please help me out with this.i will be very glad if i am provided with the solution. To add even more details and help
One thing about the iPhone and Windows users (not sure what happens with Mac users) is when you first get your iPhone and hook up to your computer and go into iTunes to go do your first sync. The default for where it will get your photos to sync is the "My Pictures" folder for your user profile.
Many realize after that first sync that they just synced tons of junk they never really wanted on the phone (as for many Windows users, there are sample pics, temp pics, etc all in that folder and subfolders.
You will find it far easier to go make a folder someplace on your computer.
For Example:
C:\IPHONEPICS (though I personally wouldn't make it at the root like that, but this is just for example)
Then COPY pictures you want to go to your iPhone into that folder.
Then back in iTunes for the Photos option (tab) for the iPhone, choose the option to select a different folder other than "My Pictures" (drop down).
Browse and select that folder you made.
Now when you sync it will sync with that folder that you explictly put photos you want on your iPhone.
The reason I said put copies there is that later if you want a photo off your phone, just delete it from that folder on you computer then sync. And when you want new pics on your phone, just put copies in that folder and sync. Far easier to manage.
As a final tip. In that folder you are allowed to make sub folders to make Libraries on your phone. But note, you can only go one folder deep.
For example:
C:\IPHONEPICS is what you made to sync to.
Now you can create in there
C:\IPHONEPICS\FAMILY
C:\IPHONEPICS\PARTY
C:\IPHONEPICS\MISC
C:\IPHONEPICS\GIRLNEXTDOOR
And put copies of pics into each of those folders. They will be different libraries on your phone. But note you cannot create:
C:\IPHONEPICS\FAMILY\WIFE
As that is two subfolders deep. -
Cant import photos from my iphone 4 to iphoto (8.1.2)
i can no longer import photos from my iphone 4 to iphoto (8.1.2). it freezes on "preparing to import" each time. Any suggestions?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I have just installed iPhoto 11 and all of photos on my iphone have now all disappeared and ended up in my photo stream and the library in iphoto does not display all my pictures?? Can anyone help?
And I cant work out why all of my pictures are not diplaying in iphoto?
Is this iPhoto on your Mac? Are you referring to the photos that were in your iPhoto LIbrary prior to the upgrade to iPhoto 11? If so then apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
If that's not what you're referring to then you should describe what is happening in more detail. Remember we can't see your Mac or your iPhone so need detailed and accurate descriptions of what you're experiencing.
Also we need infomartion like do you have an iCloud account and are you logged into it on all of your devices, iPhoto and Mac? do you have Photo Stream enabled on both.

0x0021e9b1 0xfb000 + 1194417Let's try repair the other Library.

This could save me from jail. I need to prove that I DIDNT delete one or more photos from my iphone. Is there a hidden numbering system that will show if some are missing? Here's what happened:
I went from point A to point B, and I took photos at both places. I was arrested for allegedly taking a detour in between A and B to take one or more photos on my iPhone, which I did NOT. The sequence of photos on my iPhone shows this (photos from A and then B with nothing in between), but my false accuser will just claim I deleted the ones in between (to have me imprisoned falsely. long story).
I am innocent and I'm hoping my iPhone can prove that. Any help is MUCH appreciated.
Oh, and I haven't synced the phone since this happened, if that's an issue.A managed library is the default type that iPhoto creates. Make sure you have the option selected to copy photos into iPhoto when importing:
was hoping it would at least keep thumbnails of all my photo's.
I use a DAM (digital asset management) program which will do exactly what you want: Media Pro 1. It creates catalogs (libraries) of thumbnails, up to 640 x 480, that is uses to manage the photos. You can do anything to the photos except edit, slideshows, or anything that requires the full source image when the source files are not available. You can arrange photos in Catalog Sets (like iPhoto albums), add keywords, etc. to them even when the sorce files are not available. When the source files are available you can write that metadata to the source file and rename files. You can use Media Pro in demo mode for about a month I believe.
A catalog file for 44,000 photos (178 GB) with the thumbnails set for 320 pixels at high resolution is only 1.5 GB. The larger the thumbnail selected the larger the catalog file will be.
