Photo menu page

I have a Photo menu page and when ever I click on a picture it takes me to a folder album how do I turn that off since it is kind of annyoning.

Use the "Blank" page template - not the "Photo" template to place your thumbnails and PayPal buttons.
Place the individual enlarged images on separate new pages and link to them from the appropriate thumbnail. Paste the button onto this page too.
Make a link back to the main page on each individual page so that you don't have to include all these "extra" pages in the navigation.

  • Organizing Photo Library Page Hints

I do not run a business, but rather enjoy my computer for home use... so my hints for organizing an iPhoto Library Page relate to personal/home use. I have iPhoto 6.0.5 (316) on my computer.
Regarding the "View" of the Library Page, I do keep my "Film Rolls" labeled and in order. Others in this forum have discussed managing the "Film Rolls" in depth so I will not go into that here.
I believe that what has helped me the most with organizing my photos, and I do have 3074 photos entered right now in iPhoto and have only had this computer since the end of July 2006, is the use of FOLDERS & ALBUMS under the Source list on the left side of the iPhoto Library Page.
I have one FOLDER for each month labeled such as: 2006/07, 2006/08, 2006/09. That way the folders will stay in numerical order in the source list. And at the end of each month I do make a DVD, using iDVD. At the end of the year, I will consolidate those monthly folders for 2006 into ONE folder labeled with an asterisk and the year's date like *2006.
Inside each monthly FOLDER, I have three more FOLDERS separately labeled Family, Friends, General. This helps me to categorize my photos a bit more.
Inside each of these three Family, Friends, General folders, I make ALBUMS of particular happenings like a birthday, Labor Day, or family gathering, and stash the album into the appropriate folder. I will label these albums similar to the folders dates, only I will include the entire date & event such as: 08/02/06 Nellie's Birthday, 08/14/06 Family Reunion, 08/16/06 Day At The Beach. That way those albums will stay in numerical order too within the individual folders. I do keep these photos individually labeled too within the albums. No excuses on labeling photos when you can at least make one broad category name on several photos at once with "Batch Change" and let the Batch Change label & number each of the several photos at one time. That way the "search" feature at the bottom of the iPhoto Library Page can be easily used to locate a photo, or a group of photos.
At the end of every month, I do burn a CD of that month’s still photos for a back-up. I also make a DVD that has fun presentations to share with others, rather than just clicking through still shots on a CD to share the photos. For instance, at the end of the month, with the photos already organized into folders for particular happenings, it only takes a few minutes to put together a slideshow, or to add the photos to a video movie that I had taken during the month, or to make a Quicktime Movie, or even to put together a book in iPhoto, but rather than having the book printed, just make the book into a slideshow that has flipping pages and also has music. Because the photos are already in order in the ALBUMS, getting them into the mode of presentation that you choose takes hardly any time to burn them on to a DVD.
I follow through with the same type of organization [as shared above] when I make the monthly DVD, by using the iDVD theme menu that has the shelves with the THREE photo frames. I title the DVD menu page on top for the month, like September 20006 TOTAL COLLECTION. I label each of those picture frames... yes, you guessed it: Family, Friends, General. In the sub menus for each of those frames, I then place the album presentations for that month, whether it is a slideshow or movie. The labels on the fronts of the actual DVDs also have the same THREE breakdowns with Family, Friends, General, and the names of the movie, or slideshow that was in the album in that category. I also pick out one photo to represent each of the three categories and print that on the label as well.
If anyone has any questions, or comments about this organization for photos in iPhoto Library Page which I have been using, please feel free to share.

    OldGal
Are these titles of folders or image files?
    Smith/John By The Beach
    Smith/John Sitting Down
    Smith/Jane Running Up Hill
If they are folder titles then you can drag each folder into the open iPhoto application window to create a new roll with the same name as the folder.
You can also select specific photos in the main library window and use the File->Create Film Roll menu option to create a new roll containing just those photos. (You must be in the main library for that menu option to be active).
Terence's recommendation of Smart Albums is a good way of grouping photos with similar attributes, keywords, date or date range, file name or partial file name, title or partial title, etc.
You can use multiple keywords on one file like John, Joan, jane, etc. then you can find all photo associated with one or all of those keywords keywords by clicking or option-clicking on more than one of those keywords in the Keyword pane.
You can create a test library, import couple of folders into it and then test out the various ways to organize your photos before applying them to your primary library.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • I cannot view photos from pages of an on-line auction from Firegox, but I can view the photos when I view the page on IE. How can I correct this problem?

When I open to a page from the auction on Firefox, the photos added to the auction to picture the item are not shown. Only a numerical list of the missing photos is visible: 1,2,3, etc. But when the same page is opened on IE, the photos are shown with no trouble. I asked the web site for help, but they had no idea of a problem.

Sometimes images may be blocked by site-specific permission settings, and in other cases by extensions such as ad blockers. (If the images are displayed by a plugin, such as the Flash player, there are additional possible explanations.)
    (1) To check permissions, open the Page Info dialog and click into the Media tab. You can do this using either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Media
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Media
Click in the list and arrow down through the various images and watch the box above the image preview area that says "Block images from {site}". If that box is checked for any of the source sites, uncheck it. When you're done, reload the page.
    (2) If the images weren't blocked by permissions, try the page in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
If the images display in Safe Mode, then most likely one of your extensions is blocking them. You might be able to solve that puzzle just by reviewing them, but if you can't find the culprit right away, you can selectively disable them in groups to narrow it down.
You would do that in the Add-ons Manager:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''click'' Extensions ''on the left side''
    Can you track it down?

  • IPhoto 7.1.3 and printing multiple photos per page

I cannot get multiple prints to layout (or print) properly. IOW, I cannot get the product to render multiple photos to a single sheet layout.
    - selected multiple photos (say 5)
    - Hit Print icon (or select Print from File menu)
    - Paper Size: choose 8.5x11
    - Print Size: choose 3x5
    - Hit 'Customize' button
    - It is showing 1 photo per page (5 pages)
    - Select 'Settings'
    - Select 'Multiple photos per page'
    - Hit 'OK'
    - No change - still a single photo per page
    - Print preview shows same - 5 pages each with only a single print.
    - Same occurs if I originally select 2,3,4.... prints.
Perhaps noteworthy: I am using a printer (only available printer) that is attached to another iMac on my wireless network.
Any help appreciated. About 30 minutes searching this discussion board hasn't been fruitful.

    Michael
Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
    - selected multiple photos (say 5)
    - Hit Print icon (or select Print from File menu)
    - Paper Size: choose 8.5x11
    - Print Size: choose 3x5
When I do these steps my preview shows 4 photo on the page (the maximum number of 3 x 5 you can fit on an 9.5 x 11 sheet) without going to the customize menu - and it works on three different printers
Try deleting your iPhoto preferences (finder ==> "your username" ==>preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist), launch iPhoto, reset any preferences you have set and see if it will work
It should be very easy and straight forward with only the first four steps being needed for this

  • Photo index page

I want to create a photo index page with links on it to all my published photo folders. How do I do this without all those folders showing up on the top bar menu on all the pages. I just want to keep a simple Home - News - Photos menu.

A search in this topic would answer your question immediately, since this has already been dealt with many, many times. Short answer: 1) uncheck 'Include page in navigation menu' (Page Inspector) for each of your photo albums. 2) create a page (don't use the Photo template) with a representative image for each of your photo albums. 3) Use 'Enable as a hyperlink' in the Link Inspector to link each image to the appropriate photo album.
Many examples of this approach in action have been provided by many people. One is on my own iWeb site, here:

  • Starting on Main Menu Page

I have finished creating a project and burned it to a dvd. Once I put the dvd in the player, it automatically began playing the dvd. How do I re-burn the project so that it first goes to the main menu page?
    Thanks

just use one of the "older", less elaborated, less blinkyblink templates...
e.g. "Photo Album" (<<hopefully, this is the english title, my user interface is German...)
you drag'n drop any movie into the window => that generates a "button"; you can change the title of that button (default is the file's name...), and position by dragging it .. ; double-clicking on it makes a slider visible => choose the preview frame for that button... or, you do NOT set any preview-frame, then the frist seconds of this movie are visible ...-
    spend some hours reading here:

  • Printing 4 photos per page in iPhoto 9

In iPhoto 6, there was a process involving a few buttons to print four photos per landscape page. That has apparently disappeared from iPhoto 9.
There's also no apparent way to print to landscape on an HP photosmart 6440 printer in iPhoto 9.
Are these processes still here but buried, or is it now just not possible to do what was done in iPhoto 6?

Select the 4 photos, click print and select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize - click on the settings icon in the tool bar and select print multiple photos per page (the print size times 4 will have to fit the page of course) and click print - select printer specific options (landscape/portrait, paper source, etc from the pull down menu toward the middle of the print window - if i is not there click the gray triangle to the right of the printer name to expand the window

  • Can see only one photo per page. How to revert to multiple images per page?

First noticed on my iMac and now on my Macbook (10.4.9)--I'm no longer seeing a month's worth of photos on a single page. Only one photo per page, sometimes with miniature ones in the top border. I thought it was simply an inadvertent click on by part and easily corrected. But all attempts on both computers and reading of Help index haven't led to restoration of an entire page of photos and elimination of the annoyance. I'm wondering now if something I downloaded might have altered iPhoto program itself, making it impossible to view large numbers of photos at the same time. Any suggestions appreciated.
    Cap

    Cap,
This view, with the one photo big and the thumbnail strip across the top, is what happens when you double-click a photo with "Edit in: Main Window" set in the Preferences. There should be a button visible that says either Done or Return, to exit edit mode and return you to the library. If you still see only one photo, use the size slider in the lower right corner to reduce the photo size and get more thumbnails on the page.
If, for some reason, you can't exit the edit mode, you may have a corrupt preference file. Quit iPhoto. Use the Finder to navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist and move that file to the Trash. Launch iPhoto, and you should be returned to the main viewing mode. You'll have to go in the Preferences and reset them to your liking.
    Regards.

  • Photos menu dissapears from Apple TV

Photos menu dissapears from Apple TV as soon as I upload my library from my computer (the one that is synching with ATV) If I go to sources and I select ATV instead of my library the photos menu is back. In either case the photos are there as I can see them in the screen saver.
Everything was working well (including photos) for several weeks until today.
I have reset the ATV, reset my iTunes with no luck.
What should I do? Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
The photos menu is only available when you select the ATV as your source. and not when you select a streamed library.
This is because photos can only be synced and not streamed to the ATV.
Therefore, there is no Photo menu in a streamed source library.
See the fourth box on Photo syncing here - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305270

  • Problem adding photos to a photo template page

I am using iWeb 3.0.4. After selecting a Photo template page I tried to drag an iPhoto event from Media sidebar that has 32 photos in it to the photo place holder on the page. Only 9 of the photos were transferred. Trying to drag any other photos, even a single photo, caused a text box with the name of the photo in it to be placed on the page and the Inspector window to open with the Link tab active.
Does anyone have any ideas on why or what to do?

Your library is damaged and my not be able to be totally recovered, i.e. recover albums, slideshows, etc. along with the photos.
If the original files for your photos are inside the library package (even if iPhoto can't display them) the following should create a new library with all of your photos.
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1.  Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.  Check it out carefully to see if all of your photos are represented in it.
Your current library will still be available for further fix attempts.

  • Why can I drag and drop from Photos to Pages, but not to Microsoft Word 2011

I'm unable, under OS X 10.10.3, to drag and drop pictures from Photo into Word for Mac 2011.  I can paste from Photos into Pages.  How can I add Word to the list of programs that can take pasted photos pasted from Photos

Drag and Drop support is done programmatically as part of the application design. There is no user settable configuration, or list of programs that you can add Word too. Apple has supported drag and drop in Pages for a long time, and from iPhoto or Aperture picture libraries. Microsoft chose another path.
I don't have Office for Mac 2011, but I can state that Word 15.8.1 in Office for Mac 2015 Preview does not accept drag/drop of images from Photos either. It compensates by offering Insert ▸ Pictures ▸ Photo Browser… and when selected, displays an image panel not unlike Pages offers when clicking images from its Toolbar. At the top of this Word Preview panel is the Photos logo. It is from this Photos browser panel, that Word Preview accepts drag/drop of images. It may be that way in Word in Office for Mac 2011 too.
