Photo names and thumb names don't match

Apologies if this issue exists and I haven't spotted it. I have looked. Working on iPhoto 5.0 on a G3 iBook, photos held on an external 60gb LaCie drive.
My basic issue is that the names of my photos and the names of thumbs do not always match. The thumb of the same no. displays a different photo. And the thumb in the folder of a photo is often the same image but has a different no. E.g. IMG-0008.jpg has a thumb called 1485.jpg with a different date, but the image is the same.
My initial question is one of fixing. Can I somehow get rid of all these thumbs and force iPhoto into recreating them? It looks to me from reading the forum that this would be safe and possible via rebuild, but given the mess I'm in I thought I'd like to check first!
Can I also delete folders of Originals (knowing the risk that changes are then permanent)? Can I do this anywhere other than at iPhoto library folder level, which appears to be a bad way to stuff?
There's a history to all this of course, which I'll go into if there's anyone who thinks they may be able to explain why it's happened. Otherwise fixing it would at least be a good first step as I've no idea if it's likely to be causing other problems in the software performance!

Oh sorry, that is a screenshot for iPhoto 6. For iPhoto 5 the Data folders are in each date folder.
For you then, just delete the three files, then do your rebuild.
If the thumbnails and photos are still not correct after the rebuild you can create a new library and import the photos from the old. When you do this you are just importing the photo files and new thumbnails will be created.
Here are the directions:
Close iPhoto
Rename your messed up iPhoto Library to "iPhoto Library_old"
Drag this library to your desktop
Hold down the Option key and launch iPhoto
This is the window you will get
Create a new library or choose a library to open
Choose to create a new library
Once this new empty library is open it is time to import the images from your old library
Go to File>add to library
Navigate to the old library on your desktop and highlight it in the window, then click the "import" button.
iPhoto will start importing the images from your old library
This is what to expect:
Your images will be imported in nice dated rolls. (make sure your view is set to sort by rolls to see it) There are a couple of caveats to this. You will get rolls named "Originals" These rolls will contain your video clips and your original images that you had edited. If you had RAW files they would be in those rolls too (I don't do RAW, so I don't know for sure) Delete what you don't want from those rolls. You will also get the jpeg pointer files to your video clips imported. They will just be jpegs and will not point to the video clips anymore as iPhoto made new ones when the clips were imported again. You can delete those. they should be in a roll right next to the newly imported video clips so they are not hard to find. The thumbnail files don't get imported as iPhoto makes new ones when the images are imported.
Once all you images have been imported, check through the library and make sure everything looks ok.
You can now start making your Albums, and do your keywords or any other organizational steps.
You can also delete the old library on the desktop.
It is also a good time to backup this new library to CD/DVD by burning the iPhoto LIbrary folder in the Finder, or copying the iPhoto Library folder to an external drive formatted for Macs, or copying the iPhoto LIbrary folder to an iPod.

Account name and user folder don't match

Hi,
So I don't know how to change my 'User Folder' name to match my Account name.
The name of my user folder, 'sickjestrer4', was the Apple ID I entered when I first registered my Mac. And it became the name of the folder automatically.
My account name, however, is my real name, Jack XXXXX.
I want the two to match and both be called 'Jack XXXXX'.
I've tired a few things unsuccessfully and am turning here for some help.

Your username on your home folder is always taken from the short name. You can change the short name of your account by right clicking on the user within the accounts pane in System Preferences and selecting Advanced Options. However this is not a smart move. It can be a complicated and painstaking process moving all required aspects and settings to the new short named account.

First name and last name order in contact list

Actually, my contact list is displayed with the last name before the first name, but everything is fine in Address Book settings (I choosed "First name, Last name" option), and I checked that first name and last name has not been reversed for some reasons between two fields, the first name is right in place, as is the last name.
So changing this is AddressBook has no effect.
I tried disabling Chax, without success.
It could be possible this problem occured when I enabled Microsoft Exchange address book synchronization, (iSync reported 500+ changes in AB database, I did it anyway and noticed no problems in data after synchronization (I still have a backup :-))
One more thing , the displayed name in the iChat menu extra is correct.
So, what could possibly change this behavior I did not already check ?

If you add details to the Address card in iChat as you add a Buddy then you need the first set of instructions I posted.

Ahhh. I see what you mean.
iChat does in fact always display First Name, Last Name as you say.
Adding a Buddy with the names in the reverse order to display as you want in iChat your Address book gets messed up as it is not consistent with those contacts that are not iChat Buddies.
The only work around I can see is to change all the Address Book entries to match a reverse entry in iChat and then use the Address Book option to display Last Name, First name to show them the 'correct' Fist name, Last name and have them in Last name, First name in iChat.

SharePoint 2010 Web Analytics showing user Display Name and Account Name from the same user

Since July, 16th 2012 the Web Analytics Daily Unique Visitors reports started to show almost the double of visitors we used to have on our Web Application. Here are some of the data (I intentionally deleted the weekend data):

As you may notice the data jumped from around 2.700 unique visitors to around 5.000 unique visitors. As the number of permissioned users remains constant it is pretty odd. I also checked the Number of Page Views report and see no change on its behavior.
The number of page views remained constant.
So I went to look the Top Visitors report and understand why the visitors number almost doubled. The analytics started to count the users Display Name and Account name as two different visitors with a different number of page views. Let me show you an example
from yesterday (July, 25th) Top Visitors report:

As I stated this is an example from July, 25th. If I checked the same report from a period before July, 16th I can only see the users Display Name as "Visitors". No account name is displayed or counted as a different visitor.
About the environment:
We have two SharePoint 2010 farms: a "corporate" and a "enterprise". The corporate farm contains four web servers and a central administration servers with publishing services. The enterprise farm contains two servers running User Profile Services, Search
Services and some others. Our main version is the SP1 with June/2011 Cumulative Update with a few more hotfixes applied.
This behavior on analytics is affecting all web applications (we have more than 20) installed on this farm and my company Support team said that no change were made on SharePoint on the weekend the problem started.
Does anyone have any tip about what is going on?

First of all thanks for your interest on this issue but I don't think it is related to the User Profile or the Active Directory.
I checked both records and there was no change on the Display Names. All the users have "full names" as display names (first + middle + last name) and not logins as SharePoint is displaying on this report.
But I did a test yesterday and checked the results today confirming that just the access been made using a specific server are causing this. Explaining it better:
I have four web servers on my farm named from P01 to P04. Then I created this test script:
Step 1: Change local HOSTS file to point the web application on the server P01.
Step 2: Access site "A"
Step 3: Access site "B"
Step 4: Close the browser.
Step 1: Change local HOSTS file to point the web application on the server P02.
Step 2: Access site "C"
Step 3: Access site "D"
Step 4: Close the browser.
Step 1: Change local HOSTS file to point the web application on the server P03.
Step 2: Access site "E"
Step 3: Access site "F"
Step 4: Close the browser.
Step 1: Change local HOSTS file to point the web application on the server P04.
Step 2: Access site "G"
Step 3: Access site "H"
Step 4: Close the browser.
I asked three users to execute that script. The results: All access to the sites "C" and "D" were registered on Web Analytics with the user account name such as "nt\cmazevedo". All the other sites registered the user Display Name correctly such as "Cinthia
XXXXXXXXXX".
With this test we could isolate the problem just on the server P02. It doesn't occur on the others. Now my support team is trying to find any configuration difference between this server and the other three that could point for the root cause.
I am also looking for some information regarding the service responsible for this task ("transform the account name into a display name") to understand why it doesn't work on one server and works on the others.

I got some output values from the legacy system with me but need to know whats the actual field name and table name to which i need to transfer these values. How can i do it, since which theres is not field name or despcription given for the data.
Is there any way i can do it.

if you know the transaction code you use to post the uploaded data in SAP, you just need to do BDC recording in using transation SM35. Record the whole process and create a program from the recording... and you wont even need to know the tables and field names-- almost everything will be done for you....
All you need to do is replace record data with upload data.
You can also try to look for a standard Function Module / BAPI which can do the processing for you and provide it with a table containing the upload data ...

I have performed Meeting Place Express configuration through the “net” command.
But now unfortunately I can't connect to meeting place through web browser. I just get blank page.
Though I can reach the server with help of ssh. I think my DNS works properly because I can resolve the ip address of cumpxvoice .uclab.com and cumpxweb. uclab.com with help of dig command.
Have you any idea?

This is the wrong forum for reports issues - particularly for such an old version :-) However, you'll have to write a user exit to do that kind of stuff. And no don't ask me how, it was all too long ago, but there should be a section on that in your manual.

The biggest 'concern' in my shop is 'separation of concerns'. The UI group reports up to a different IT head, the DB group reports up to a different IT head and so on. The looser the coupling between these systems, the lesser the project costs (Integration, QA etc) are. Printing name and business name for labels

Is there a way to print the name and business name together for a mailing label? Address Book will only print either the name and address or the business name and address but won't print both on the same label. For example, this is what I want:
John Doe
Widget Business
1313 Mockingbird Ln.
New York, NY 10010
Address Book will only print this as an example:
Widget Business
1313 Mockingbird Ln.
New York, NY 10010
or
John Doe
1313 Mockingbird Ln.
New York, NY 10010

Welcome to the discussions, Iconartist.
You will need a 3rd party application to read your Address Book data and print your selected fields onto lables. One such, which I have suggested several times, is Roll Call Directory, but I don't know if it will actually meet your requirements as I have not tried it and the posters I suggested it to have not further commented on it. I would be interested, if you try it, to hear how you get on with it.
I suspect there may also be freeware applications that will do the same job.

I do know table name and field name for Plnd ind. reqmts (PBED-PLNMG)
But I don't know table name and field name for Requirements; it gives the structure tabe
and name only. What table name and field name that hold the qty for Requirements column?

Using JPDK, I would like to build a portlet that displays the Portal user's first name and last name. (This information was provide when I created the Portal user.)
Seems to me that this should not be difficult, but I don't know what API I'm supposed to use.

In 9iAS r2, Oracle Portal uses Oracle Internet Directory to store data about a Portal user.
Would it be "good practice" to use the information returned from ProviderUser.getName() to query OID for the first name and last name?
If not, what is the "intended way" to do this?

Role, Extended Name and WSCI name

Hi all,
When adding an application component to an integration scenario, it is possible to configure the above three pieces of data, namely Role, Extended Name and WSCI name.
I was wondering what exactly the usage of these fields are. I was hoping to configure values for them and use them at runtime, but even when set they do not appear, so far as I can tell, in the runtime cache or the message header itself. Does anyone know
a) what they are used for and why they are configurable
b) if the values set in these fields are available (specifically in the Adapter Framework) at runtime?
Another way of solving the same issue I am having would be to use the Alternative Identifier concept for Service, in the same manner as can be done for Communication Party, allowing for normalization. But whilst the Normalization tools allow for lookup of alternate id's for Service, I can see nowhere at all where these can be set... So I could retrive the information if only I could actually create it!
Does anyone therefore also know where and alternative identifier for Service may get set??

Thanks for the reply, and confirms what I was seeing that that info never reaches AF. I guess it is just there for use in the BPM? Or is it purely for display purposes in the integration scenario?
As for what I want to do, basically I want to "normalize" the Party and Service fields for outbound - that is outbound from XI - direction (I am writing a custom adapter which calls a third-party tool which itself uses a different format from XI for Service Identifiers and Party Identifiers.)
The Party normalization works perfectly for this, and I am able to successfully use it. But Service is slightly different. The AF provides lookup methods (e.g com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.NormalizationManager.getAlternativeServiceIdentifiers) for alternative Service Identifier, the same as it does for Party, leading me to believe that it should be possible to treat Service ID the same as Pary Id's when Normalizing. But it seems that this may just be a blip in the API rather than anything else as there seems nowhere can this be set, nor does it appear in the message header the way that it does for Party. So I looked at the other Identifers for anything that would provide me with an ID for the Service which could be set at configuration time but which was not the actual service name used in XI (the third party tool uses a Service ID format that XI rejects as service name).
So I am now trying to use Header Mapping in the receiver instead to acheive this which I think will solve my problem but it would be nice if I could treat the Party and Service the same rather than have two different methodologies for achieving essentially the same end, i.e to map internal XI identifiers to External identifiers.

Change Groupwise system name, po name and domain name?

Hello Board,
we want to migrate a Groupwise 7 System (Netware) to a Groupwise 8 System (Linux).
Doesnt sound that difficult, but we dont want to use the names for the system name, the post office and the domain (groupwise domain, _not_ internet domain) which were used on the old system.
Currently iam trying the way mentioned in TID 10077372, which mentions merging the two systems and then delete the old System.
Am i on the right way? Do you have any hints?

Ok you have a GW system(s) that you do not like the names and you want to change them. Not a problem. As you stated, and as Tommy said -merging works.
The process you need is to build a new GW system -same as the version you have running preferred. Set it up as you like it -name-wise. Then, merge the older systems (branches) into the new system you built. Then you will have to build new domains/post offices and move mailboxes from the old GW branches into the new domains/post offices. When its all done -delete the old, and you are done.
I have done many different variations of this type of migration/merge/consolidation. It works, its just a lot of work. Just make sure to plan it all out on paper first, document it, then go forward.
