Photo not loading in Photoshop 2014

I updated to the latest Lightroom (5.6) and Photoshop 2014 today.  Now, when I am in Lightroom and select edit in Photoshop 2014, Photoshop launches, but no photo to edit.  If I select to edit as a smart object, it works.  Any ideas as to what is causing the problem?  Thanks - T.J.

looks like there is a manual fix here
Edit In doesn't work in Lightroom 5.5 from Photoshop CC 2014

And thanks for reporting back. Glad you got it sorted out.
The naming convention can be misleading.
People use CC when they mean CC 2014.  aka v. 14  and v. 15 respectively.
But Adobe is labeling their products as suite groups.  CS 6, CC, CC 2014.

    Hi The Lad,
If you have "INSUFFICIENT" disk space, then you can try and change the install location while performing the installation of the desired product. I am not sure when the error message would pop up saying that the disk space is "INEFFICIENT". Could you please share a screen shot of the error message along with the system information.

  • Developement Mode extensions are not loaded by Photoshop CC after 14.2 update

    I keep my HTML5 extensions in /Users/myaccount/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions.
I do have Debug Mode enabled using cli tool: https://github.com/davidderaedt/CCEXTCLI/blob/master/setdebugmode.sh
    In manifest.xml I have "<Host Name="PHXS" Version="[14.1,14.9]" /><Host Name="PHSP" Version="[14.1,14.9]" />"
I do have all required settings in Preferences->Plug-ins enabled (allow extensions/panels/internet connection)
    Before 14.2:
Everything was fine, all extensions were loaded without any problems.
    14.2:
No extensions are loaded, no errors are reported, it just seems that Photoshop CC does not load any extensions
When I install same extension using .zxp package then Extension Manager installs extension correctly and it is working so its not extension code issue I guess.
    My system information:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.2 (14.2 20131211.r.515 2013/12/11:23:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Mac OS 10.9.1
Is it possible to temporary rollback to 14.1.2?

The problem was that I had nested directory structure of extension like: ".../extensions/extension-folder/something/else/CSXS/manifest.xml" -> I changed directory structure to have ".../extensions/extension-folder/CSXS/manifest.xml" and it solved the issue. Nevertheless Photoshop 14.1.2 was accepting deeply nested directory structure of extension and 14.2 does not. I found also another issue but I will post it in another discussion.
    Thanks.

  • Photos not loading correctly, distorted colors, lines, etc.

So, my wife's Macbook is having a problem... it will not load pictures correctly in iPhoto or from the Finder. to give you an idea of what the pictures look like, see here:
    http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v1949/149/17/633596272/n63359627222288712218.jpg
Every time you remove the drive/ camera it will change how messed up it is, and sometimes the pictures come through fine... it's not the camera, as we have tried her old and new camera, and it loads fine on another computer, just not on hers.
She's got a macbook loaded with the latest version of the OS with all the updates... she is running an old (5.5 I think) version of iphoto, which could be a problem, but it's hard to say because they load wrong even if you do not open iphoto... the only way I can get the pictures to load correctly on her computer is by opening them from the image capture application... they open fine inside the program, but once you download the images to the computer, they look messed up again, like in the linked photo...
It definitely seems like a software related issue, maybe an incompatible codec associated with iphoto, or something else...
I've tried trashing the iphoto prefs, and I don't know how long ago this started and AFAIK, there hasn't been any software installed that should create a conflict...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Will

I just moved quicktime components to the trash to where quicktime will not load or work at all,
What won’t “load or work at all”? Quicktime Player?
I don't think that all of the imaging on the computer goes through quicktime somehow, that is a bit ridiculous and far fetched to think that...
“ridiculous and far fetched”, like confusing QuickTime Player with the Quicktime technology? But what the heck, why don’t you explain to me how it all works then?

  • Bridge Web Gallery Photos Not Loading

Just upgraded from CS4 to CS6.  I had been using the Create Web Photo Album command in CS4 which of course is no longer available.
So, opened Bridge and created an HTML Web Gallery.  The HTML Gallery looks great and when I open it with DW locally it works fine in preview mode.  After uploading the gallery to the server, the gallery page layout is there but the thumbnails don't load.  Page is functional and when I click on one of the thumbnails its large pic page opens but again the pic does not load. The images, both the thumbnails and large images, upload OK and are present on the server.
Here is a link to the album page:
    http://ashlandhiking.org/badlink.html
I also tried two other gallery formats; Standard and Lightroom Flash.  Both of these worked fine after uploading.  So it appears to be a problem associated with the HTML gallery.  I tried changing the page doc type to HTML 5 and HTML 4, to no avail.
    Please help. Thanks.

It's funny: I had just posted to someone else that they should update to 7.1 to get the web gallery to upload. I didn't realize I was not up all they way myself. So now I'm at 7.1.1.
Problem was, I still had upside down photos.
So the work around I employed was to export the edited photos out, delete the photos within iPhoto, then re-import the edited photos back in. Ah, now they show properly.
Not my favorite solution, but what are you going to do?
I still suspect there might something within the web gallery functionality, which wants to upload the Originals and not the Modifieds. Thoughts anyone?

  • Photos Not Loading After Transferring Library

I have recently transferred my Aperture 3 Library from my old 2006 iMac to my new 2011 iMac. The folders and albums appear the same as they did on my old iMac and the number of photos in each of the folders and albums appear as a popup when I run my cursor over the each of the folders and albums, but the actual photos have not loaded into the majority of my folders and albums. The photos load when I open some of my albums (with "Loading" appearing in the bottom left corner), but not for most albums ("Processing" appears in the bottom left corner with no activity in the Browser). I initially thought that the smaller JPEG files were loading and larger RAW files were not, but this does not seem to be the case. Any ideas why I cannot see the photos even though they are apparently in the albums? Any recommendations on how to load the photos into my folders and albums?

Is it just some of the images? Are the images from different cameras? Is there a reprocess option at the top of the Adjustments tab in your Inspector? Are there blank spots where the photos should be? Are any filters applied in the search field?
Just some of the things to check. If you post a screenshot it may give us some more to go on as well.

  • IE 7 and 8, photos not loading, image slideshow not working

I have invested hours and hours and hours on my website, only to find out that what I see on my computer is not what others (users of IE versions 7 and 8) see.  I have determined from reading other queries on this forum that the Spry Image slideshow widget is a problem for just about everyone.  If this widget does not work in IE 7 or 8, is there another widget or another solution so that photos can be displayed on the website?
I would also like to know why some of the single photos on various pages do not load properly.

Spry version 1.6x does not work very well with Spry version 1.7. Hence you will have to treat both versions with soft gloves.
If, for instance you were to place version 1.6x above version 1.7, you might find you you will get some kindness in return.

  • Slideshow Photos not loading properly

    Hi,
On my homepage I have a slideshow that starts automatically, there are 16 images in the slideshow that are between 35KB and 159KB, recently some of them only half load, so the bottom 75% of the picture does not load. I have moved where are save the muse files and image files onto my local harddrive instead of in the cloud, I have reduced the file size, deleted the whole slide show and started again, changed the picture names etc
This is a key element on my website and I use the slideshow on other parts and the photos on those pages are not loading properly
    if anyone could help
    The website is www.mcconaghyboats.com
I have viewed the site in chrome, firefox and IE and still having the same problems, and also from other locations

  • ZOPSignCmd Extensions Not Loading In Photoshop CC 2014 Windows

I have an unexpected problem. I have been redeploying my Configurator extensions into HTML5 extensions for Photoshop CC 2014.
I have two extensions that are packaged together using Davide Barranca's excellent tutorial on how to package extensions (http://www.davidebarranca.com/2014/05/html-panels-tips-10-packaging-zxp-installers/).
If I install the two extensions separately, they both install into Photoshop. If I package the extensions together in a ZXP file, Extension Manager CC shows that they have been installed, but when I open Photoshop CC 2014, Extensions is grayed out (this is on Windows 7). When I take the same extension package and try to install on a Mac into Photoshop CC 2014, they install fine.
What is strange about the above is two weeks ago I was doing the same thing and the packaged ZXP file installed fine into Windows 7 Photoshop CC 2014 (I have made some changes to the extensions and this is why I am re-testing them).
The only change that has occurred between the two versions is some re-editing of the postscripts.jsx file. Everything else is the same including the MXI file.
I am not a Windows person, so I am at a complete loss as to why something worked and now is not working.
If anyone can give me some insight into what is happening I would be eternally grateful.
    Sam

In the Windows 7 computer I just have Photoshop CC 2014 no Photoshop CC.
I tried this below and it did not install the two extension even though the Extension Manager CC said they were installed.

  • How to fix when plugin is not loaded into photoshop?

    hi all,
I have created a filter plugin in 64bit then created a link for project.8bf file and copied it into "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Plug-ins"
and restarted photo shop cc it is not showing up in filter menu.

Try resetting your user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox being used). Some add-ons can change the user agent string and that can lead to error messages about unsupported browsers. For details on how to do that see the [[websites or add-ons incorrectly report incompatible browser]] article.

  • Bad files, photos not loading right, crashing...really worried.

Gosh lightroom and me are just not getting along lately. First my catalog destroys itself and then the following day lightroom on my husbands computer starts getting all wonky.
First, it wasn't displaying the edits in the little film strip thing at the bottom in develop like it usually does. I would have to click on the picture, it would show up raw and then load into all the settings we have done. Typically, once we edit a photo it just is that way from then on.
Then my husband gets back on his computer and works a little and all the sudden a bunch of files are having errors and none of the standard previews are loaded anymore. That is odd since we know FOR SURE we have loaded those and then did 1:1 previews on all the flagged photos we are working with.
Then after them being damaged it went back to most of them working. Freaking out...again...we just exported all the work we have done so far (about 95% of the wedding) so we wouldn't lose another wedding after the preview catalog crash. Now I am really uncertain as to what we should do...He shut down lightroom and we have not opened it back up again in fear we will screw something up. I thought I would do some research and write something here first since calling Adobe is useless after spending 2 hours on the phone only to not speak to anyone and be hung up on last time when my catalog crashed.
Lightroom is our life. We spend all day on it, do all our weddings in it...It is our workflow and our style. I can't do what I do in lightroom in photoshop since I have developed our style within lightroom. We have 8 weddings to edit and can't just stop working...
I guess i'm freaking out. Should we just export all our presets and delete lightroom and reinstall it? Do you think we have a bug? We work on macs so I would think a bug is much less likely than a windows computer? Could our version be bad? We are running on 2.4 I believe which is the most current? Should we go back to the previous version? We have not had ANY problems with lightroom until now and its like everything is going way crazy in the past 2 days so I guess i'm a little overwhelmed.
I'm honestly afraid to keep working in fear that all will be lost again. Someone told me about some XML thing that will for sure keep all our edits if something should go wrong. Is there a step by step of what that exactly means and how to make that happen?  I am much more of a creative artist than a programmer so I am a little slow on how a lot of things work on the back end.
Thanks so much for your help to anyone who replies. I just joined this forum a couple days ago and It is amazing how fast people do respond to things so I really appreciate it.

    Holly,
a bunch of files are having errors
When you say "errors", what do you mean exactly? Do you get an error message, or is it just that the previews aren't showing up?
    did 1:1 previews
By default, LR will delete 1:1 previews that are older than 30 days to free up disk space. Is that possibly what's going on?
Someone told me about some XML thing that will for sure keep all our edits if something should go wrong.
LR never alters the original image - all of its changes are stored separately as instructions (e.g. "Add 0.5 Exposure").
So when you see an image in LR, it gets the original image, applies every change you've ever made, and displays the result. The catalog (LR's database) keeps track of every single change you've ever made, and this is what you see in the History panel.
Optionally, you can instruct LR to save image data in what's called a "sidecar" file. This sidecar file is in Adobe's XMP format, which is based on XML. It will have the same name as your original RAW file but with a ".xmp" extension.
You can see this in action by opening the folder containing your original raw images - you will see DSC_1234.NEF (for Nikon) and it's "sidecar" file DSC_1234.XMP. You can actually open the DSC_1234.XMP file (but DON'T modify it) and see the XML that LR has created.
Another option is that if you are converting your RAW images to DNG, the same XMP data is written out, but it is actually stored inside the DNG file along side the RAW image instead of in a separate file.
The thing to watch out for is that a) writing the data to XMP is optional - you have to make sure you've enabled it (I don't remember if it's on by default), and b) the XMP file doesn't contain everything that's in the LR catalog, so you shouldn't view it as a substitute for backing up your catalog.
Also, while I know it's outside of the realm of your specific issue, it sounds like there are a few "workflow" tips that might help you out. If you already know this stuff, please feel free to disregard... much of this is personal preference and experience from having been burned in the past!:)
Set LR to test the integrity and backup your catalog every day. It only takes an extra minute but can be worth its weight in gold if your catalog ever gets corrupted. The cool thing about LR's backup is that it each backup is written to a new file - as opposed to just overwriting the same backup copy every time. In other words, if you backed up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, you would have 3 copies of the catalog: one from Mon, one from Tues, one from Wed. With normal backup procedures, you would just typically have the latest copy of the catalog - the problem being that if the catalog gets corrupted and you don't know about it, and back up that version, now you just have 2 copies of a corrupted catalog!
When you import, make sure to check the box that says "Backup To". This will immediately ensure that a) right of the bat you have 2 copies of each image, and b) ensure that no matter what you do in LR you will never lose your original image.
If you're really paranoid, after your import, shut down LR and back up your LR catalog, your RAW images, and your RAW images that were backed up as part of your import.
Make sure you have "write to XMP" turned on, or alternatively convert your RAW images to DNG. Either way will ensure XMP data is stored with your images. If you don't use DNG, make sure you back up the ".xmp" files as well as your your RAW (.nef, .cr2) files.
When you're done with your images, export every image to JPG. Back up the JPGs.
Periodically back up any LR presets and plugins
Peridocially burn your RAW images (either .CR2 + .XMP, or .DNG) and/or JPG to DVD, and store the DVD offsite (e.g. safe deposit box, friend's house). Alternatively, backup to an external hard drive and store off site.
Back up your entire system every night (or week or month - based on how much work you feel comfortable losing )
It might seem like a lot of extra steps, but much of it can be automated, and after a while it will just become part of your normal workflow. If you have to, keep a paper checklist next to your computer.
If you do this, you will have:
A daily backup of a known, good LR catalog.
A copy of every RAW image as it came off your memory card.
A copy of every RAW image and the latest edits.
A JPG version of every edited RAW image with edits "baked in"
A copy of your saved presets and plugins
Everything above backed up to a secondary location
Plus, a copy of RAW images and their latest edits and/or JPGs stored off site

  • Why will Lightroom photos not launch into Photoshop CC?

I just started Creative Cloud Lightroom and PhotoshopCC.  When I try to move Lightroom 5 photos into Photoshop I get a message that says "The file could not be edited because Photoshop CC 2014 could not be launched."  Even though I go to "photo" header in Lightroom and scroll to "edit in Photoshop CC 2014" it launches into my old Photoshop 4; I deleted Photoshop 4 but photos still won't go to Photoshop CC 2014.  Frustrating. Would appreciate some suggestions.  Thanks.

I suspect the problem is with Photoshop, not Lightroom. Uninstalling older versions of Photoshop after installing a newer one is known to potentially cause a lot of grief in some cases.
What happens is that the old version takes a lot of registry settings with it on the way out - leaving behind empty pointers to itself rather than the newer versions which it is not aware of. Lost file associations is a classic.
Sometimes these pointers can be re-established easily, but in other cases a full uninstall/reinstall is needed, perhaps with a run of the CC cleaner tool tossed in to clean the slate. Or, if you have the stomach for it - manually editing the registry. But then you should know your way around and backup as you go.
With Photoshop, the safe procedure is to always uninstall in strict reverse version order, then reinstall the newer version.

  • Extensions not showing in photoshop  (2014)

I have installed Photoshop cc(2014), but 'extensions' is blanked out. Still working in cc and all of my addons are visible in extension manager cc. How do I get it to work?.
My next question is about Bridge. In Bridge I have the option on right clicking an image to open it with photoshop cc or photoshop cc(2014). How do I make photoshop cc(2014) the default? Do I have to manually change all the file associations in preferences?

Not that. Everything is up to date. See screenshot
