Photo Optomization

Hi,
I have been asked this question many of times. How do I have the page/photo load faster with out loosing or minimizing loss in quality of the image? So here is the complexity of my situation:
My website: www.libkofficial.com
If you take a look at the website the pics are full screen, and might take too long to load. Is there a happy medium to make the page load faster and still keep quality? The pictures are on a full screen slideshow. What this gives me is a guaranteed "fill of space" regardless of what screen size you are viewing the website from. Due to this very reason I have made the pics 1620 x 1080 (some cropped smaller) with 72dpi via Photoshop. And when I have save the JPEG it has been saved as baseline "standard" with maximum quality.  I am just so stumped.
What I have tried:
I have cut down the resolution below 72, pics came out blurry.
I have tried to save at different sizes, from screen to screen, the pics became blurry or pixelated.
I have tried to save at different compressions like 10, 5 , or lower, still the pixels just became blurry-er.
I have tried to to change the "baseline" stettings, which i could not really see a difference any where.
Other things came to mind was because my site is hosted with Business Catalyst, could it be possible for the BC servers to be slow? or the fact that there could be something going on the the BC side of things?
This is probably a hybrid question between Photoshop, Business Catalyst, and Muse
Any help is appreciated Thanks!

"Optimizing" my photos for my iPhone takes forever. For me the problem is much worse. 3 to 4 minutes per photo. Last night, I let it run all night. In the morning 50 of my 70 photos were done, the rest I was told "could not be optimized". Furthermore, the photos that were "optimized" were totally distorted when viewed on the iPhone.
I'm running a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of RAM and a SATA RAID disk array. I don't think a little photo processing should be a problem.

  • Photo Optomization painfully slow

Currently I have both a 60GB iPod video and a 4GB iPhone which I both love so dearly.
One of my biggest problems and gripes is that Photo optimization when syncing both of these devices is horribly slow. By slow I mean. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7... Next Photo (Wash, rinse, repeat).
I have a dual core 3ghz processor with ht and 8GB DDR667 F ECC DIMMs
It isn't even making a 5% dent in my processor usage. If I watch the Windows task manager every time that the counter in iTunes increments up 1 for the number image that it is on the memory will jump consumption of about 30 MB for less than a second. (No additional processes detected.)
Is there a way to fix this? Or is this another obnoxious hard coded limitation in iTunes to keep from using my processors which I so very much paid for and want iTunes to use?

    Hi,
I'm from germany so no 'best buy' but I think I will lock around sleeve/bag for a different product with same measures. Any tip?
The clear plastic case is not what I want. I would like to use the player without such protections. I just want a sleeve to protect the player while its in my jacket/pants.
Btw, i have bought this version: Creative Zen (maybe european version?). I also doesn't seem to have your mentioned sleeve. I also couldn't find it on the website.
    Anyway, thank you,
    Chris

  • Re-optomize photos everytime I swap iPod/iPhone

I've hads a 160Gb iPod for a wee while and hold all my photos on it as a backup (just over 10,000) in full res.
I've just bought an iPhone and asked for all the photos to go over. Every time I sync from a different device, it optomizes the photos again and takes a bit under 2 hours which is a pain. If I re-sync from the same device, then it's fine.
The iPhone cache in the Photos folder has no device specific info so I assume this is normal? As you could have a family with a number of devices, this seems like you could spend a lot of time syncing.
    Am I missing something obvious?
    TIA
    John

    Am I missing something obvious?
No. This seems to be an aspect of iTunes long overdue for some optimization. Frankly I wouldn't use an iPod or iPhone as a photo archive. Certainly the iPod stores it's full res images in an overly complex set of folders which would complicate recovery and I don't know if the iPhone even supports transfer to PC (though I've no doubt 3rd party tools exist). I just keep 40-50 of my favourite images on my iPod.

  • Problems Synchronizing photos

    Hello,
I have Synchronozed about 2500 photos to my ipod. When I first did this, the "optomizing Photos" part took about 3 hours, which was okay because there was so many.
However, now, even if add one new photo to my folder, Itunes wants to optomize all 2500 photos. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, or do I have to deal with this eerytime I synchronize photos? Thanks!

You may have to add them manually to the PS.

  • I am having macbook air recently my iphotos did not open and was showing report apple and reopen but i came to know that by pressing alt and iphotos i open an new photo library and stored the pics but now how can i get the pics which i had in the earlier

i am having macbook air recently my iphotos did not open and was showing report apple and reopen but i came to know that by pressing alt and iphotos i open an new photo library and stored the pics but now how can i get the pics which i had in the earlier photo please help me to recover my photos

    Well I'll guess you're using iPhoto 11:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • PSE icons instead of the photo. I need to view photos at a glance. Please help me????

Please help, this is driving me crazy.  I have downloaded my free PSE #9, it came with my Leica Camera.  I cannot view at a glance any of my photos.  There is only an icon that reads, PSE.  To view any of my photos, I must click select and then preview.  This gets old, and I am doing 4 times the work. I am having to use the dates to guess where my photos might be.  I hate this!  My old Photo Shop #5 didn't do this.  When you went to my pictures, you could see every photo.
I have tried the right click and open as any program.  What ever program I choose, that is the icon that appears.  No photo. Still no good.
    Please help.
    Thanking anyone in advance,
    Leica

    Hi,
Are you using Windows Explorer to view the files?
If so, load Explorer, go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
Click on the View tab and make sure the first option (Always show icons, never thumbnails) is not checked.
Click on OK and see if that is any better.

  • I create a birthday calendar in iCal and then click on it in iphoto at the begining of the calendar project each year.  Some how the birthday did not populate the photo calendar.  Is there a way to add the birthday iCal calendar into the calendar project?

I created a birthday calendar to use in iphoto for calendar.  When a new calendar project is started each year, I click on it in.  Some how the birthday did not populate the photo calendar this year.  The photo calendar is almost complete.  Is there a way to add the birthday iCal calendar into the calendar project? I would prefer not to start over.

    Hi,
If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.
    Best wishes

  • Can a family member use my iCloud storage for photos?

Hope I'm not being obtuse, but the answer to this isn't clear to me from the various "help" menus.
The situation is complicated by my living 50 miles from my elderly father.
I need about 50 GB for my photos, but have to pay for 200, of course.
So, is there a way for my Dad, who is a member of my iCloud/App/Whatever family to move HIS photo library from HIS computer to MY iCloud account without having to purchase more iCloud space for his personal account? (His photo library also - barely - exceeds the limit of the next increment of storage available so that i'll have to buy him 200GB if there isn't a way to share the storage from my iC account.
Hope this question is understandable - I don't know how else to frame it.
    Thank you for all responses.

Duh! Nevermind. I think I definitely WAS being obtuse about how to share photos.

  • Adobe Stock Photos Stuck in Trash and Photoshop CS2 won't run!

Okay, I apparently did something stupid. I'm not even sure how this happened, but I realized that Adobe Stock Photos folder was sitting on my desktop (I'm using OS X 10.5.6). I don't know when this happened and I didn't think I needed it so I dragged it to the trash. NOW I cannot run any of my Adobe software (includes Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2 and GoLive CS2).
I can see the folder sitting in my trash, but it won't let me drag it back out. So, just as a test, I tried dragging out the one other file (.jpg) and I can't get that one either. I know this isn't a Mac forum, but I'm desparate and cannot find anything to help me.
Probably I am going to have to reinstall everything and (of course) I can't find my CDs!!! Please don't get angry if I'm asking the wrong question. I've done an internet search and I cannot find any solutions.
    Thanks, Anne

Adobe stock photos does not even exist anymore.
Have you tried deleting your trash? I have no Adobe stock Photos on my computer and everything works. try restarting the computer.

  • Filename in Photo Gallery

Since updating my iPad2 to iOS 8, the filenames have vanished from the photo gallery. I am a designer and I used to take the filename of photos as reference for my clients. I have more than 8000 pictures in the gallery. Please HELP
Hate Apple so much for ruining my work.

I Can't ever recall seeing file names in the default Photos app. Perhaps you were using iphoto on your iPad which is no longer supported? Check the App Store for other photo handling apps To find one that shows the file names. I use Photo Manager Pro to show photos to my clients. It does a better job of that than the Photos app. you can set the preferences there to display the file name.

  • Lightroom imports photos to wrong folder

I've been importing lots of photos from my hard drive into lightroom and been moving/renaming them in the process. I only got lightroom a few weeks ago.
This has worked fine but i've recently imported a few hundred photos off my iphone and doing the same thing - move and rename. The trouble is, these photos keep going into the 2009 folder, instead of the 2012 or 2013 folders that they should be. When i look at the photos, they have the correct name, and the capture date seems to be correct, its just lightroom keeps wanting to put them in the wrong folder by year. Does anyone understand why this might be happening?
naturally I want all my photos sorted into the right date folders as this is the way ive decided to organise my photos...

hmm so still not making sense. it keeps wanting to import my photos into the wrong destination. have removed all the photo from lightroom. how do i change it so it automatically puts the photos into the corresponding year/month they were taken..
I understand its something in the import settings/destination but cant seem to change this. not sure what parts of the import box your wanting to see Dj.
the structure now is my pictures/2009/21-7-09 then its creating new year folders and sorting them within this 21-7-9 folder..
    can't see to change this?

  • Photo drags to wrong folder

why does photo drag to wrong folder?

You question makes no sense - iPhoto does not "drag" photos anywhere - it works on a SQL database and controls the photo locations correctly - you never access them direcly but always use the provided tools to access the photos - click here for a discussion on the many correct and safe ways to access your iPhoto library photos.

  • AiO remote can't send multiple photos to camera roll

After scanning 25 photos using AiO remote I want to send them to camera roll, but have to send each photo one at a time?
I can press edit which allows me to select all, but this does nothing, except DELETE? Also can't email multiples or send them to Dropbox in multiples, is that weird or what?
Any know how to contact HP about this? It does need fixing.
    This question was solved.

    @StanTheManII
Thank you for your feedback regarding the AiO app. I will be sure to direct this to the AiO app team.
    In answer to your questions....
The app is working as designed. There is no current option to allow to multiple seletions to be copied to the gallery. The current design is to be done one at a time.
When emailing an attachment, you need to:
         1. make sure that your email is set up
         2. tap the share button while viewing the image, document or saved file
         3. tap email, compe and send the meail message
This allows for only the one image, document or file to be attached to the email. Again, the app is working as designed.
Again, I will direct your feedback regarding the additional features to the AiO app. Thank you for taking the time to post.

  • Is there a work-around to enable Digital Photo Pro on the Microsoft Surface Pro ????

Is there a way to use Digital Photo Pro on the Microsoft Surface Pro?
As I understand the problem  DPP is unable detect the screen resolution of the tablet ( the defauilt res of the tablet
    is 1920 x1080) with a minimum of 1024 x768.
It would be usful if one could type in your working screen res into at startup if that's the only problem
___I've looked at other screen drivers from Intell but I realize if I could install thrm I'de lose the touch functionallity
Are there any other ideas out there???
    Thanks  artB

Canon DPP is Canon provided application for desktop/laptop computers and they don't have a version for any tablets as far as I'm aware (not even iOS or Android versions).
But there are other photo editing programs that would work.  I have an iPad.  While Apple has their own photo software (which isn't going to work on a Windows tablet) Adobe has an app called PS Touch.
PS Touch isn't nearly as full featured as Photoshop.  It limits the image resolution (it resizes any images that you import to it so they don't exceed the max resolution) but it does have most of the commonly used adjustments.  So if a person were just trying to get something out, it works in a pinch.
One other catch is that PS Touch can't deal with RAW images... so it's JPEG only.  But I can import JPEGs off the card into the iPad and then edit them -- not as well as I can if they're on a regular computer, but this is what I'ved when I'm away for a weekend with my camera.
