Photo Organizer app

Hi, can anyone recommend a photo organizer app they have used (particularly since the IOS6 update).   I know about Photo Manager Pro but I just want a simple app that allows me to put my photos in folders and there are tons of apps but can anyone recommend one in particular?
I guess with Photo Manager Pro, and some others that are similar, it duplicates your photos increasing space used and also makes it difficult to delete a photo from camera roll.  All I want to do is put my photos in folders.
Thanks.

After importing all my photos to Photo Manager Pro, I deleted everything in Camera Roll.
There's no duplication.
Note: My photos were originally transferred to Camera Roll using the Camera Connection Kit; no problem deleting them.

  • Photo Management App

I am interested in an app to handle some relatively basic activities for organizing photos on my iPad: moving copying, folder management, etc. I prefer simplicity and elegance to a bunch of features.
Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Yes indeed, one of the stranger shortcomings for the iPad.
SortShots is a powerful photo organizing tool for iPad: it retains the photo's EXIF data, including the original filename, and you can create tags and apply them to the photos. You organize your photos into "sorts" based on these tags. Searches can be done on filenames and tags. You can send photos to other apps and save them to the Photo Library if you want. However, you cannot send them to an editor, edit them, and then save them back to SortShots automatically. Your photos in SortShots do not appear in the iPad Photo Library or any of its "albums." They are synched as data in the SortShots App.
The only way that I can see to edit photos from SortShots is to save a photo to the Photo Library on the iPad, open it in an iPad photo editing App, save the edited the image back to the Library (yes, it's a new file and does NOT retain the EXIF data from the original), and then import that edited version back into SortShots.  THEN you can delete the original version and rename the edited image with the filename of the original and enter the original tag and other metadata.  Yikes.
However, I don't think that there is any other photo organizer App as powerful as SortShots right now. The iPad was built as a photo viewer of photos that primarily exist back on your computer where they are organized and edited and then synched back onto the iPad.

  • Is there a picture organization app that will let you move pictures around the way you want?

I need a recommendation for a picture organization app that will actually allow you to sort pictures the way you want and have them stay in that order.
The native app just doesn't allow me to sort my pictures into what ever sequence I want them in.  Creating new folders is OK, finally being able to delete pictures from photo stream is great but I really want a finer level of control over the order in which my pictures are displayed.  I looked at iPhoto but it has lots of reviews that say it doesn't do this so I am looking for an app that will give me control of my albums and will allow me to sort my pictures the way I want them.

    Hi Thom_D,
I have iPhoto and I have found that it works very well for me, organising photos etc. onto a pinboard type thing.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is there a photo album app that let's you add a photo to an album from the full-screen view of a photo, not the just thumbnail view?

Is there a photo album app that let's you add a photo to an album from the full-screen view of a photo, not the just the thumbnail view?

...It's just really annoying to try to organize photos into an album when you can't see the full screen version of the photo... especially if you have several similar-looking photos, and you can't tell the one you want from looking at 40 thumbnails on an iPhone screen.

  • Ok, I have deleted EVERYTHING off my 16gb ipad. Photos, music, apps. All I have are the standard apps. It says I have used 11gb and only have 1.6 left. When I first bought it I had up to 4 movies and lots of apps, no problems. What's going on please!?

How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • Does anyone know how I can copy photo and video files from the Photo's app on my Macbook, to a USB stick or other external back-up?

I've updated the software on my Macbook to the most recent version; regretting it now; and iPhoto has now become the Photo's app.
The problem is I can no longer back up my photo and video files taken on my phone, saved to my mac, by copying them and saving them on a USB stick or other external hard drive.
I could easily do this with iPhoto, but now Photos app does not let me copy the files when I select them.
Does anyone know if there's a way to save, copy or back-up my photo's and video files: prefreably one that doesn't involve iCloud, as I don't feel like paying for more storage; there must be some way to access those photos/videos from my iPhone to save on another source?

Select the photos and videos in Photos and use the command "File > Export"  and select a folder on your USB stick to save the photos to.

  • Photo editor app now available but doesn't work, after latest What's New update

    hi all
odd experience what I wanted to highlight with you all.
I've just had an updated (this morning) to What's New build 3.0.A.0.2
After installing this patch / update, I was then told that "Photo Editor" was available to download. Build is 5.0.A.0.12
As far as I'm concerned I've not had this app on my phone before - checking in system apps reveals this is a fresh install, rather than an update to an existing app.
Also, I've not worked out how to run it, as there's no app shortcut on my homescreen. The app is not visible in the app picklist (when adding new items to my homescreens) either. Nor is the app in the main app list (accessed with the 6 dots button in the middle of the permanent shortcut panel on the homescreen).
I've even tried using a very useful app "quick shortcut maker" and although I can find photo editor in its activity list, when i test the generated shortcut, I get "unfortunately, photo editor has stopped".
    Any ideas?
I do have some apps disabled, so does photo editor have any known dependencies?
EDIT: I've tried clearing photo editor data and restarting - no change.
    Cheers,
    Gary
    Solved!

    Hi MyAliasIsGary
Photo Editor is a system app only, it is available for use when editing photo's through your Album or Photo's app. For example, if you go into Album > tap on a photo > tap the icon at the bottom that looks like a pencil on paper > tap Photo editor.

    thx,

I use Week Cal on the iPod.  I think it was only $1.99.  It is a lot better and does a lot more than the one that came with the Palm Pilot.
As you know, unlike the Palm Pilot, the iPod does not come with a desktop application that you can sync your iPod calendar to.  Since I don't use Outlook, I have to use a Cloud based calendar to sync with my PC.  I use Hotmail's calendar for that.  (If your computer is a MAC, you can use iCal)

What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

I had to format the C drive recently. I have reinstalled iTunes but I am unable to add anything other than music, TV shows and movies to the iTunes library. It is not showing any option to add podcasts, books, photos or apps. These things are available on my iPhone but are no longer there in the iTunes library. Please help.

In iTunes go to general preferences and check the boxes for those you wish to see in the library.
