Photo printing from Iphoto 09 using epson r200 printer

Mac Mini, Iphoto 09, Epson stylus photo r200 printer.
Hello, I have been trying to get a decent printed photo (6" x 4" high gloss photo paper) using the above. All I seem to get are very poor quality prints. There does not seem to be a way of telling iphoto what medium I am using or the correct resolution I wish to use. Can anyone help !

Welcome to the Apple user to user assistance forums
If paper type is available it is in the printer specific options on the second print window - select the photo(s) you want to print, click print, select the printer, paper size and print size and click print - in the resulting window any available printer specific options will be in the pull down line toward the bottom of the window - if they are not click on the gray triangle to the right of the printer name to open the full window -- note that the available printer specific options are controlled by the printer driver - not iPhoto

  • When printing from iphoto all photographs ar printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen

When printing from iphoto all photographs are printed in a pop art style rather than as seen - how do I change this to printing the photo as seen?

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Damaged preference files can cause a varitety of problems which you wouldn't think it could. Deleting and regenerating the pref file is one of the basic fixes to try.

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2?  Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • Printing from iPhoto to Epson Stylus R1900-Lack of Layout and other options

I have just begun using my MacBook Pro for photo use, and also just acquired an Epson R1900. When I print from iPhoto to the R1900, I can only print 1 photo per page. The usual Epson screen which has an option to change layout, e.g., to multiple photos per page does not appear. If I try to print from Mail the usual Epson screen does appear. Why not in iPhoto like it always has in the past on my iMac when printing to my previous, Canon i950? This is a major concern to me since my wife likes to keep our photos as multiples per page in a scrapbook. I'm using iPhoto '09, vers. 8.1.2., and OS 10.5.8, and the latest update of the Epson driver for the R1900 which claims to be fine with OS 10.5.8.

Well, I found how to get to "Settings." There is a button in the photo area entitled "Customize," which leads to a screen with various options on the bottom, one of which is "Settings." If I click on that I get a small dialog box including the option to select "Multiple Photos per Page." So far it looks like I need to do some very tedious custom sizing to get, say, 4 photos on 1 8x10 page. There is a "Layout" button on the "Customize" screen; however, it only wants to give me horizontal or vertical page orientations; or ones which have the option of adding a title underneath. In the past, if I choose multiple photos per page (or "N up") I could then choose how many: 2, 3, 4, etc photos per page and the program sizes them accordingly. I still get that when I use my old iMac with iPhoto '05 to print to the Epson R1900. Works nice and easy.
Also, I'm confused by the fact that iPhoto '09 does not allow a "Page Setup" file command. This is making it difficult for me to get the photos oriented in a way that they will fit in groups. So far, iPhoto '09 is proving to be very awkward to work with compared with my past experience with iPhoto '05.

  • Printing from iPhoto on Epson CX6600

Well I have tried printing photos using my Mac for the 1st time since I got it, and I am having terrible trouble.
I have installed the Intel Compatible Epson CX6600 drivers on my Macbook. I am using Tiger 10.4.8 and iPhoto supplied with the Mac with all the latest updates. Printing from iPhoto (and actually the GIMP) is proving problematic. 1stly is seems to be difficult to orient my pictures to fit 4x6 photo paper and crop in so there are no white borders and also to print the right way around.
Secondly, the print quality when I finally do print is terrible. The colors are washed out, it's grainy and there are faint lines in the image. Oddly enough, if I print using Windows (parallels) the image quality is perfect. However since I have chosen iPhoto to organise my photographs, it'd be nice to use it.
I see two issues. One is that the paper size is not shown correctly in the drop down. I get a choice of letter, legal, A4, A5 and then a bunch of codes like W665GH45 or something.
Second issue is there does not seem to be any 'print quality' option, as I am sure that this is the issue. The image comes out with a print quality similar to "Draft" in windows. In Windows you can change this to high quality or photo quality easily, in OS X I cannot see where this option is.
    Thanks in advance for help.

  • How do I print from iPhoto using colormunki printer profiles

I have an Intel core i7, iMac, OSX Mavericks.
I have just purchased Colormunki and created a profile for my monitor.
I have also created a printer profile for my Epson Stylus Photo R3000.
Now I want to print a photo from iPhoto so that the printer profile matches the monitor.
However, it is not clear to me how to do that when in iPhoto.
    Can anyone help?

  • Printing from iPhoto 6: shadow areas printing too dark

I have printed directly from iPhoto to my Epson 1290 (1280 in US) and the colour accuracy of the prints compared to the screen is good, except that the prints tend to be very dark in the shadow areas, sometimes just solid black ink and complete loss of shadow detail.
If I print from Photoshop, the colours are less vivid and the prints appear lighter than on the screen, but I have better detail in the shadow areas. I don't want to get into the whole thing about colour management in Photoshop, this is just to let you know that the detail is present in the images and is not an overexposure problem.
What I want to know is whether it is possible to somehow change any settings to prevent this loss of shadow detail when I print from iPhoto. The default Add ColorSync Profile is checked in the iPhoto preferences. Some dark/shadow areas come out looking like a blob of black ink, sort of posterized, which spoils an otherwise good print.
Many thanks to any of you clever folk out who can help.

    Thanks Morris, will try that.
I found that if I tweak the output in the Levels palette in Photoshop, setting the slider to about 12, it reduces the excessive black ink in the shadow areas.
Otherwise, the colours are a very good match when I print from iPhoto.

  • Printing from iPhoto using a colour profile

Just a quick question. I have a profile for my desired ink/paper/printer combination that in Photoshop produces an accurate result. I wish to print quickly and accurately from iPhoto without the labour of going though Photoshop. How do I achieve this in iPhoto? I use an EPson 2100, and have tried to set colour management to Colorsync, having set the profile for my chosen paper choice to my profile in Colorsync utility. Apparently this is not enough. My screens are accurately calibrated.
I am a seasoned user, but not when it comes to colour fidelity, this is new to me.
    Help always gratefully appreciated.

You're entering the Twilight Zone of iPhoto as color management is a tough one. With my Epson printer there are three color management option in the Print pane, No Color Adjustment, ColorSync and Color Controls.
I'm assuming you have your photo embedded with the profile of choice, right? If that's the case have you tried the No Color Adjustment setting?
In the ColorSync Utility application you can set a specific color profile to be used by a printer. I don't know if that will work for you but you might give it a try. There are numerous profiles for my Epson R200, one for each paper type and then the standard. You might change the Standard setting to your specific profile with CS and see where that takes you. This is just a guess but, who knows, we might get lucky. Do you feel lucky, do you?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Problems printing from Aperture using Epson R340

I have an Epson R340 and happily use all the paper settings such as Glossy print from Photoshop to the printer. Having now installed Aperture I find I am not able to do this. I have reloaded the Epson drivers but still not able to do this. To elaborate when I press Print image from Aperture I go into Print settings - and find that the following items have a line through them - Print Settings, Colormanagement, Printoption and Extenstionsetting. This is not the case when I look at the menu via Photoshop. Can anyone help me on this.

I have an Epson R320 and all the Epson's printer driver options are available to me in Aperture. My list is slightly different: Print Settings, Color Management, Page Layout Settings, and Extension Settings with the words separated by spaces and each has a capitalized first letter.
I'm wondering if Aperture isn't seeing your Epson driver files. You might want to remove the Aperture plist file from your User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunch Aperture.

  • Color cast when printing from Lightroom with Epson 3880 printer

Just got an epson 3880 printer. Printing on epson paper is fine. But printing on Ilford or Moab or other papers from lightroom and photoshop have a terrible magenta color cast.
WHen I print the same image from Preview, with the same print driver settings, it looks fine. So somehow the adobe apps (or my settings) are messing up the color sync.
I used to have an espon 2400 which worked just fine.
I have Mac OSX-10.9.1. Monitor is calibrated. (Prints to epson paper with their profiles look great...it's just other profiles that are really bad).
    I need help!

Are you using moab icc profiles or are you using one of the epson profiles?
I always use the moab profiles which you can download from their Web site. This way you are matching the specific epson printer with the specific moab paper.
At that point you change the printer manages color to Lightroom manages color and select the specific profile. Very easy to do - they even have instructions on the Moab site for installing the profiles if you haven't done that.
Once installed you can also use them through the system print dialogs in PS but it is really much much easier to use in LR - Since coming on board with LR last summer, I have switched to doing ALL printing from LR. Since you mentioned that you are having the same problem with LR and PS, I'm betting you are using epson profiles and this will solve your problem.
    Hope so

  • Printing from Appleworks using Adobe PDF Printer

I have a large number of Appleworks files to convert to PDF. At the moment, I open the file, do a command-p, choose PDF, then "Save as PDF". This method works fine. I would like, however, to automate the process, and doing so would be much easier if the Adobe PDF Printer would print with the expected settings when I click the "Print" button. Is there any way to make this happen? It seems strange that it is not the default behavior, considering the fact that the PDF printer is only a virtual printer, and would never be used to print to paper.
    Peter

I have a g5 running Tiger. I updated my profile after posting my original question.
The "Save as PDF..." button works, but not the button on the right that says "Print". It is important to me to be able to use that button, because it forces the application to print to the Adobe PDF virtual printer.

  • Can't print from PC using AExtreme connected printer...

    Hi!
I have an AirportExtreme BS connected to my cable modem and I can connect to the internet using my PB G4 and my wife's Dell PC using Windows XP. She is using a Belkin Wireless Network Card. No problem there!
I also have a Lexmark C510 printer connected to the Airport Extreme via UBS. I can print without a problem from the PB G4 but on the Dell PC we can't even get it to recognize the Lexmark printer.
When contacted directly Lexmark said that they don't provide support for Airport Extreme, blah, blah...
    Any words of advice?
    Thanks!

  • Unable to Print from iPhoto from MacBook

Trying to print from iPhoto using MacBook Intel. In version 5 there was a print button on the tool bar. In version 6 there is no print button on the tool bar and when I go to customize the tool bar, there is no printer option to choose. So from there I just went to FILE, PRINT. Nothing will print on a networked HP laser jet printer from iPhoto. If I drag the picture to the desktop, it is a JPEG and prints w/o any problems. However, I'm not able to crop the photo because it opens in Preview view. Has anyone had problems such as this printing directly from iPhoto itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How are you connected to the printer, wired or wireless?
They did away with the Print button but just type Command-P to bring it up. Try going into the Print Setup menu and selecting the printer before starting the print cycle. Try repairing disk permissions with Disk Utility.
You might try removing and then reinstalling the printer driver for the HP with Printer Setup Utility.
What version of iPhoto and the system are you running?
    Do you Twango?
