Photo Printing vs Transfer to Computer via Bluetooth.

I have a Photosmart 5550 AIO which comes with a Bluetooth dongle for printing from a cell phone.  It works fine when you complete the setup properly.
I wanted to do more than just print the photos so I tried moving the Bluetooth dongle to a USB port on my computer - instead of the printer.
I downloaded the Bluetooth driver from the HP site and installed it.
I can now either print pictures directly, or, copy/move them from the phone to the PC.
This allows me to edit the photos before printing.
Just thought I'd post my experience for others.
I have a wireless network with the Photosmart designated as a shared printer on the network.  I use the Bluetooth dongle on a computer that is not directly connected to the 5550 printer, but is on the wireless network.
This question was solved.

  • Help! Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470

Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470.
My boss shopped for and picked this phone based on the store staff.  He wants to be able to have our service tech be able to receive work orders via email, in the form of a pdf attachment, and be able to print using the bluetooth enabled HP Office Jet 8470, hardware that was sold to him in another store with the statements that it would work with his application.
Everything I have seen on this site, and the lack of information elsewhere, leads me to question if we have the correct applications/hardware at all...
If so, I need to be able to explain clearly to my boss any options that we have, and why or why not it won't work.
Any ideas at all?  Thanks in advance~    Reagan

Your BlackBerry alone won't connect to a Bluetooth printer. Whoever told him that it would should be questioned.
However, there is an application called BeamSuite, that offers a printing solution specifically for PDF documens that you should explore...
Print Documents to a Bluetooth Enabled Printer
    http://www.slgmobile.com/beamsuite.html
BeamSuite is much more than a document viewer though. You can also print your documents directly from your BlackBerry to any Bluetooth enabled printer. Simply pair your BlackBerry device with the printer and print your documents.
If your printer is not Bluetooth enabled, you can still print your documents to it by connecting a Bluetooth printer adapter to your printer that connects to the printer’s USB port. A key differentiator of our solution is that it allows you to easily and transparently print to over 1500 compatible printers from virtually any BlackBerry device, not just the latest and the most powerful BlackBerry.

  • Can my hp photosmart all-in-one 7200 printer connect to ipad 2 via bluetooth?

I have a hp photosmart all-in-one 7200 printer with a hp blue tooth dongle.  It works well with my cameras, but I cannot get my ipad 2 to recognize the printer.

    Hi,
Printing via Bluetooth from an iPad is not possible due to iOS limitations, as Apple did not include the Bluetooth printing protocol in the iOS.
If your printer is HP Photosmart C7200, you may use the HP ePrint Home & Biz App to print from your iPad through your home network
However for the Officejet 7200 your only option is to look for any available 3rd party printing solution from the App Store.

  • Connecting up a mobile phone to a computer (via bluetooth?)

    Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to connect up a mobile phone to a nearby computer (wirelessly) so that they are able to communicate with each other.
Would bluetooth be the best way?
Would it be as simple as buying a bluetooth dongle for the computer, and writing a java application on the computer which accepts connections, and then writing a j2me application for the phone which connects to the computer? How would you find out what address the mobile phone needed to connect to?
Also, is there a better way of doing this without the need for a j2me application on the phone, such as a phones built in web browser? If I did this how would the computer be able to send information over to the phone telling it what to display? Would it be a case of creating an index.html on the computer and the phone would be able to display that?
    Thanks for the help

{color:#000080}Bluetooth looks good for your purpose. At the phone end, you would need a MIDlet to access an inbuilt bluetooth serial port using the btspp: protocol. At the PC end, your software will connect to the serial port corresponding to your bluetooth dongle. The two can communicate using a client-server relationship.
That is, of course, the bare-bones outline of quite a lot of stuff. Device pairing has to be done manually, since there is no method to do this in j2me. On many handsets, BT has to be launched before running a MIDlet that requires its services. All bluetooth dongles are not created equal, neither are all bluetooth managers. So you will have to deal with a number of specifics as you progress. I am not sure on this, but I think there are a few phone models that do have bluetooth but no serial port profile, so that's another point to check out.
AFAIK, the browser on a mobile phone cannot open local files nor access content via bluetooth -- html pages can only be viewed via the internet.
    You will need to use the javax.bluetooth and, possibly, javax.obex packages.{color}

  • How do I transfer iPhone contacts via Bluetooth to my car

I just bought a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 and I cannot figure out how to transfer my Verizon iPhone contacts to the MB console via Bluetooth vCard upload. Having trouble fidning a resource that can enlighten me on this.

The iPhone 4 does not support the OPP profile that is required for Bluetooth contact transfer.  So your out of luck using conventional methods.
Who knows?  Maybe iOS 5 will allow this... I know that they have improved bluetooth support, however I don't know if that includes OPP.

  • I have many photos that were on my computer via Elements 11.  I had work done on my computer and Elements 11 was deleted.  I was told that after loading

How do I get old photos from Elements #11 to my new Elements #12?  I had work done on my computer and although I have about 3000 photos from Elements #11, when this work was done Elements #11 was deleted.  So I have these photos on my hard drive, so what do I do to get these photos assiged to my new Elements #12?

Winston Winston, I figured it out!  I am so excited!
    Thanks for all your help!
First I reset my photo stream.
I realized after going to my photo stream there were actually no pictures in it.  I thought I had it all set up right but what I actually had was a file called photo stream in my documents I "sort of attached" that file to the actual photo stream, which at times showed photo's in the photo stream.
When I realized there was really no photos in the actual photo stream, through iCloud, I went to iCloud.com and looked up how to add photos to photo stream manually from my PC.
I am in the process of adding all my photo at the moment and I am so excited each time a new photo appears on my TV through Apple TV.
    Thanks for your patience

  • Printing etc. from wireless computer via main computer

I have just installed a WAG54 so my wife can surf the internet wirelessly from her new Vista laptop. I have been told that she should be able to print her documents on the printers that are hard wired to my computer and that I should be able to send files to her hard disc from my XP computer. It would be great if this is possible but I can't find out how to do it if it is true.
If anyone can tell me if it is possible I would like to know how to set it up.
Incidentally, Although we both have normal internet access and Easy Link Advisor shows this when opened the Easy Link Advisor Icon in the lower right-hand tray at the bottom of my screen has a red 'no-entry' circle over it. Has this anything to do with my problem?

You have to configure your computers for file and printer sharing and your computers have to be  on the same workgroup.
In XP, run FILE & PRINTER WIZARD.  You will notice that your computer is set to MSHOME Workgroup. Once the wizard completes it task, go to printer & faxes where you should see a little hand under your printers.
In Vista cick on start/computer/systemproperties.  Here you will see your workgroup called WORKGROUP.  Change it to MSHOME.  Once it change go to network.  You should see your computers listed under MSHOME.  Click on ADD A PRINTER then add a network etc.

  • How do I transfer video files via bluetooth from N...

I am new to Bluetooth and this forum. So far I've managed to send photos to my pc OK but having problems with video. The file appears to send OK but then I cannot play it back, seems to be an unrecognised format or something. Any suggestions?

Just guessing as I've not done this yet but; install iCloud 4.0 on your Windows PC, drag your video to your Photo stream folder, after a disturbing amount of time it will appear on your iPad and be accessible from the iMovie media icon (or share it wth iMovie from your Share icon).
Provisos would be; the movie needs to be in .MP4 format (why would it be anything else?), you need to be logged in to iCloud with the same AppleID on each device.
Let me know how you go as I know I'm going to be called on to do this soon.

  • How to send a photo via bluetooth from iphone 5s to laptop

how to send a photo via bluetooth from iphone 5s to laptop

Connectivity between an iPhone and a computer via Bluetooth is extremely limited. It supports tethering (hotspot or internet sharing) if your cellular plan allows that but does not support transfer of photos. You can import photos from the Camera Roll to the computer via USB or via wifi as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

I'm not sure if this will help you or not...
I did some additional testing today and "fixed" my problem.
I grabbed a new (almost fresh install of XP) laptop and installed a Jabra USB BT dongle with the MS BT Stack. Then I installed DM 5.0.1 and plugged the phone into a USB port to get it past the initial configuration.
Unplugged the BB from USB, went into Device Manager, enabled BT and searched for a new device. It forund the 8350i and finished pairing. Switch from USB to BT connection and DM5 could communicate with the phone (same as the original laptop).
Went into "Media" and selected "Receive using Bluetooth" while starting a file transfer from the PC. Transfer went through without a hitch. Tried it several more times without any problems.
Back to the old laptop, I switched off the wireless devices (WiFi and BT) and installed the Jabra adapter. Paired it with the phone and tested, transfers from the PC to the phone now work.
Unplug the Jabra and re-enabled the internal BT on the laptop, file transfers fail again.
Same computer, similar BT (both Broadcom), one works and one doesn't. I'm left wondering if there isn't some remnant of the original ThinkPad BT Stack buried somewhere (registry?) that is interfering with the internal adapter.
My next step will be to install a clean copy of XP on a new HD in the "problem" laptop and see if I can get it working. If I can then that pretty much proves there is something left over or corrupt in the current OS.
i'm going to uninstall drivers from the problematic VAIO...try installing the same drivers as i have on the Acer (working) and see if this resolves anything as I think it may have something to do with the WIDCOMM...
after inspection you should have 2 bluetooth radio device drivers and 2 RIM serial port drivers (4 & 5 i believe)...last time i tried doin it and installed 4 RIM drivers...
