PHOTO PRINTING WITH C5280

I know this is a really stupid, stupid question but I have never used the Vivera photo ink with my printer. I want to print some pictures of my grandchildren and do not want them to fade. However I do not know which cartridges to use. Do I use HP 99 Photo with HP 74 Black or do I use HP 99 Photo with HP 100 Gray. I have not been able to find any instructions as to this matter. Could someone please educate this dumb gramma?

  • Unable to print from a Mac using Maverick 10.9.2 on an Epson Photo printer with Photoshop CS4. Can you help?

I am trying to print in Photoshop CS4 on an Epson Photo printer (3880) from my Mac. I just upgraded to Maverick 10.9.2 when the problem started. Can you help.

I have the answer. It took quite a while but I know why the 3880 won't print from Photoshop 4 with Maverick. It is due to the Epson .icc page description files. The way to solve the problem is to make your own .icc. OK, so you don't know how to do it. This is what I did so now I get the quality prints I expect from an expensive printer.
You need to go to www.datacolor.com/spyderprint and purchase the Spyderprint hardware and software. It comes as a package for $300 to $350 depending on if you get a sale. The software will print on the 3880 test sheets of color blocks. With the hardware reader you then read the colors on the test sheets printed. What this does is match the monitor image with the printer, ink and paper you used. It makes an .icc page description file for you to select instead of the Epson .icc file. When you print again select the new .icc file and also choose "Printer Manages Colors" instead of "Photoshop Manages Colors" I know this is usual but it works. When you are done you will be smiling too with your beautiful results.
One other thing. If you want, it is optional, also purchase the Spider 4 Pro for $150. It calibrates your monitor and helps make excellent prints.
I understand it is more money and you already probably have a good computer, expensive camera to go with the 3880 so spend the extra money so it all works together.
    I hope this helps.

  • Poor quality Photo printing with the HP Officejet 6600

Is anyone having a problem with the HP Officejet 6600 having very poor quality photo prints?

    Hi HereInJersey,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that printed photos from your  Officejet 6600 don't have the quality that you expect.
I have included the "Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems" troubleshooting document.  It has detailed steps to take to improve the quality of your print jobs.

  • Photo Printing With iPhoto

iPhoto is a good program but it is practically useless for printing on small photo paper. I use "Film Factory OS X" which I think came with my Epson R300 printer.

    Hi David,
I use Easy Photo-Print which came with my Canon Printer. I actually think the software that comes with the Printers are easier and pretty good because they were made for the Printer.

  • Driver Polaroid P310 (Lexmark) Photo Printer with Pictbridge?

What a deal! We got a free photo printer. Prints great 4x6 from the camera (Panasonic Lumix TZ-3) via Pictbridge and the camera's USB cable. Is there any hope of printing from iPhoto?
First it would need a USB-USB cable. Our Epson printer cable and the camera cable and all the other cables are different on both ends so they don't work. Do they even make that kind of cables?
Then it needs a driver. Does Tiger or iPhoto speak Pictbridge?
Otherwise now we know why they can't give them away fast enough. Both Lexmark and Polaroid have no mention of this printer online but Ritz Camera, amazon.com, and Wal-Mart sure are advertising them with no mention of it being a camera-only printer. Would have cost a lot extra to put two plugs on the printer one for the computer and one for the printer?
The "thermal ink jet" seems to print fine but I'm leaving a test photo in the sun to see what happens.
The printer does have a nice handle that pops up from the top kinda like a lunch box [or boat anchor.]

Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers from here:

  • Photos print with red stripes across them

I have an Envy 5532 printer. If I print from an sd card the photos print ok, copying a photo direct from the scanner also prints perfectly, but if I print from photos already stored on  my computer they have fine red lines randomly across them.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I have now found that my problem was in fact confused by a number of coincidences.
I had set up the printer and run test print pages & copied from the scanner and a print from an sd card before the "stripe"  problem appeared. When I tried to print from a photo already stored on the computer was when it first really showed up. I ran the Print Doctor Tool and no problems were reported. Similarly the print test page appeared ok although of course it only has small coloured sections. Finally, after running test after test, the ink ran out and I had to put in a new cartridge - Eureka! problem disappeared.
I therefore conclude that I had a faulty cartridge that was causing the trouble. I have since run a photo on "best quality" onto Photo Paper and it looks perfect. At the high price of cartridges, this was a costly excercise, but at leat I am now able to print my  photos which is what I bought it for.

  • HP Photosmart C6380 not scanning or photo printing with Windows 8

Just purchased HP M6/1125DX/15j with Windows 8. My current HP printer is an HP Photosmart C6380 All In One.  The printer does work but the photo part and scanning icons no longer appear that were on my desktop before. I tried to download the whole program that said would update my printer but after 6 tries at an hour each, at the end it just said my download was cancelled. Is there any chance my printer will be supported by Windows 8 and how do I do that if I can't download.  Or am I stuck buying a new printer? Thanks

    Hi,
The C6380 is supported in Windows 8 and has a Full Solution Download.  I would try using the Print Install Wizard to help download and install the drivers.

  • 6x4 photos print with picture off the end of the page

HP Deskjet F2480 with Snow Leopard
I have tried to print 6x4 photos from iPhoto and the preview appears correct but the photo comes out with the top of the picture missing and a white band on the other end. I called HP and they suggested I uninstall and get the latest software which I have done but it has not made any difference.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hello,
Thanks for the post.  Great question!  I've been thinking about this one and a couple of things come to mind.  I've included a couple of links below that may assist.  One is loading the media, the other is for setting photo paper size, (in Windows) but you get the idea.  The odd part is that it appears correct in preview, which leads me to believe it's more hardware related (how the paper is loaded)   Close attention to the last paragraph.  Good Luck!

  • Photo printing with HP Laserjet CM1415

    Hi,
I am trying to print photos of 10x15 cm with this printer. In the manual, I find that you should position the 10x15 photopaper in the following way:
"Printing side up, with the top edge at the back of the tray"
But for some reason, it doesn't seem to print properly... Is this printer able to print borderless photographs?
    Tnx!

  • How to get my photos printed with the full image?!

I just bought iLife and when I select certain cropped photos to print, the top of someone's head gets cut off in the the photo. If I change sizes of prints or rotate the photo, it cuts off different amount of head but never gives the full image. I did not have this problem with iphoto before I installed this new version. I need to have access to printing photos. I use Canon MP500, ibook G4 and Airport Express for wireless printing. I think the prob is iLife cuz it didn't do this before in iPhoto and I have no prob with other applications. Help!!!!!!

Select the photo you want to print, and click on Edit. Then click on Crop, and a drop-down menu will appear. Use this menu to select the photo size that you want to print. Then use the cropping frame to get the photo the way you want. It is important to select the correct size of the printed photo because the ratios of length to width are not the same from one size to another. For example, a 4 x 3 is closer in shape to a square than is a 5 x 7. You might have to try different photo sizes from the drop-down menu to get he result you want.

  • Pixma MG6320 - Photos print with lines at the bottom

I just setup my printer last night and tried to print some 4x6 photos.  When the first photo was printing, the paper went crooked at the last inch of the paper, and it was blurry.  I attempted 6 more prints, the paper stayed straight through the whole printing process but the last inch is printing blurry with lines going all across.  I made sure that the paper size and type settings are correct on the printer.  Has anyone had this issue?  Any assitance would be appreciated!

  • Black and white photo prints with purple cast

I used Photoshop to convert the digital photos to black and white before placing them in Indesign CS3. On the monitor the photo looks great, but when I print the newsletter, each photo has a purple tint. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    Polly,
your black and white photos are probably 'Grayscales'.
The print has a tint because it is printed by rich black
CMYK instead of K-only, and the printer is not perfectly
calibrated or not calibrated at all.
a)It is a PostScript printer and it was chosen
    Output=CompositeRGB instead of CompositeCMYK or
CompositeGray (CompositeCMYK is necessary if the
doc contains Grayscales and color images).
Composite### doesn't mean the source but the printer.
PostScript toner printers and inkjets are CMYK devices.
Desktop printers are often considered as RGB devices.
b)The Grayscale was converted back to RGB (still gray though).
c)The Grayscale was converted to CMYK, which delivers in
Photoshop by default rich black CMYK.

  • What is the best photo printer with a small footprint and moderate price

That "works" with Snow Leopard. I have a Canon i70 for years that only works erratically since upgrading. Thanks very much. d
