Photo quality change after exporting

Hello
I'm working on a short film project that should be made from photos not videos (so photos are critical in this iMovie project), but after exporting the movie ( in HD) I found out that the photos' quality were reduced?
Most of the photos are darky, with dark backgrounds, they look good enough in iMovie but after exporting they look lighted up, which ruins my movie.
What should I do??
Thanks in advance

That is odd, I have not been aware of any drop in camera quality via an update with this model. With this being the case I would advise running the update again and choosing the "Repair" option.

  • IMovie sound quality changes after export and is terrible

when i export my imovie the sound quality becomes bad and sounds like my speakers are blown but their not, it sounds perfectly fine in imovie but after its exported it changes to worse, anyone know how to fix this?

Check your audio levels. and if necessary, reduce the levels so that the audio stays under the 0 DB line. If you have audio that is yellow or red, reduce the level. This video shows an example of how to do this. Click on the video All New Audio Editing."

  • Color change after exporting from Lightroom

I noticed a drastic color change after exporting a file from Lightroom to a JPEG file today. I have been using Lightroom for a while, and it never happened before. I am assuming that I changed the setting somehow and I cannot find how to fix it.
    Here is the original.
After exporting to a JPEG. The color is so drastically different. I tried both sRGB and AdobeRGB and they turn out to have the same problem.
It is not as clear as JPEG files, but edited files with Photoshop CS5 also looks slightly different viewed on Lightroom.
I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.  Thank you so much for your help!

Thanks everyone for looking into my problem!
    >Can you upload a sample of each
    >* Raw File
    >* XMP Sidecar
    >* Exported JPEG
I somehow can't find XMP sidecar files in my folders.... So instead, I exported the JPEG file to the 2nd JPEG file, hoping you can compare those two JPEG files.
The colors get lighter and lighter every time I export the files. I uploaded those files (RAW, 1st JPEG, 2nd JPEG) on line. I also changed the file samples from the original post because I can't add watermarks.
I checked my flles, but there is no preset applied to the JPEGs.
I am thinking of unistallng Lightroom and reinstalling it and see what happens.
    Thanks!

  • Why is the color changed after export?

    Hi

I tried to find the anser on all kind of forums but i believe i'm the only one with this problem.

    I've made no color correction.

  • Trouble with photos looking different after exporting to LR5

I am new to lightroom 5.  My photos do not look the same after exporting to CD or to a photo lab for printing.  I am exporting to my hard drive before burning to CD.  Can someone help?  I am starting with RAW or CR2 files before editing.

What export settings are you using. For jpegs I always choose color space as sRGB (unless the printer requests Argb) and then I set print  size, with resolution between 240 and 300 ppi. For glossy paper I choose a high sharpening setting.
It’s also possible to print a whole batch to jpeg files using the Print Module (see image below). You can then set an output value for brightening and contrast.
This can be useful as many people using uncalibrated monitors often find prints look darker than shown on their PC. When using for the first time it’s well worthwhile doing a test batch using different settings to see which gives you the best results.

  • Still photo quality worse after cropping

I've imported tens of photo's (jpeg) in order to make a titlesequence, the photo's appearing as small rectangles on the right side of the screen, the titles on the left. While in full screen the photos are excellent, after cropping they are lousy. How come and what to do? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom, thanks for your swift response. I'm stuck with FCE 1.0 and no, i'm not using a monitor because the camera, used as link between computer and monitor, is at school. I'll try using the monitor tomorrow.

  • Photo appearance changes after being placed

I hope someone can please help me
Im using CS4 and creating a magazine I have the
    Display at High Quality
And I am trying to Place 314 DPI Tiffs
that I have created in photoshop.
They are high quality images and they look PERFECT on photoshop.
I will attempt to put 10 photos of a model on 10 pages and 9 will work out perfect, at least 1 always comes out less then perfect.
I wont say totally pixelated but it look like a picture would look if you sharpened it way to much.
Every photo is saved the same and the same DPI and all of the others will look fine.
And its funny when I scroll over to the photo and my mouse is pressed on the scroll bar is I pass that photo it will look perfect and when I let go of the scroll bar it goes back to looking aweful.
But I see it perfect in photoshop and also in indesign when i scroll to it then before my eyes it changes back to a horrible photo.
Im so scared it will print in the horrible form, although I know its a good photo.
What am I doing wrong? how can i get the occasional messed up photo to show clear.
    Im using Indesign CS4
    in CMYK
    the Tiffs are 314DPI
im placing them and making a photo box first neither way works.
    Thank you very much
    Mer

    Ken,
In this particular case I was thinking Printing might be more instructive than Exporting to PDF, but it probably doesn't make a lot of difference, and Exporting is certainly less complex.
If you decide to print, there are two important things to do: First, and this applies to any printing, not just to PDF, change the "Send Data" field in the Graphics section from the default, "Optimized Subsampling," to "All." Second, for Printing to PDF you should click the setup button in the bottom of the print dialog and choose the PDF printer, then click preferences. On the PDF settings tab make sure the default setting is for Press Quality or High Quality Print.
If the preview is behaving erratically and the view settings are correct, I'm thinking it may be a video driver problem or perhaps corrupt preferences.
To test the video driver click a blank area of the desktop and choose Properties > Settings >Advanced button > Troubleshooting tab and set the Hardware Acceleration slider to none. If that solves the problem, look for an updated video driver.
To replace your preferences see: http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/InDesign/5.0/help.html?content=WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751 001ea8cb3f-6d1e.html

  • IDVD Quality Changed after Snow Leopard Upgrade

I created two different iDVD projects (slide shows with music) and burned them to DVDs - great quality, no problems with transitions, or quality of slides displayed. These copies were viewed in a BlueRay player, etc. After I upgraded to Snow Leopard I made two more copies without adding anything to the projects or changing the project settings. Quality is now terrible. The transitions are choppy, and each slide is displayed slightly less bright than it should be, then it jumps to a normal brightness, then goes back to a dimmer setting as the photos change. This did not occur on the originals before the OS upgrade. If I run the project on my MAC it all looks fine. This problem comes up after burning to DVD.
    Any ideas?

    Hi TJ1955
Welcome to apple discussions. Sorry to hear about the issues with burning to disc you are experiencing at the moment. I'm not sure I can help with this issue without being directly in front of your mac and seeing what's going on. So I'll simply supply you with the apple KB aticle detailing / troubleshooting burn issues to dvd.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1583?viewlocale=en_US
If you opt to return to the forum we'll also need more info on the mac model you are currently using and which third party items you have connected to it (if any). Lastly we will need to know how much available hard drive space is remaining on the boot volume (your main startup HD) as well as what type or brand of dvd's you are currently using and if it varied from the original /first burn.
As a final resort you may wish to try the following. Burn your iDvd project to a disc image from the file menu within iDvd (provided you have the available HD space). The disc image acts exactly like a dvd so use apple's dvd player to test for proper playback. Assuming it plays exactly as expected, then burn to Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or Maxell Dvd-R at 4x. Please avoid using Memorex while we troubleshoot your issue here. This latter brand of dvd's tends to introduce additional variables into the equation making troubleshooting all that much more complicated. Thereafter, (assuming we resolve the issue) feel free to use whatever brand works best for you and your mac.
Hope this helps but if not come on back.

  • Quality loss after exporting 1280 x 960 30fps footage

    Hello everyone,
Everytime I edit and export footage shot with my GoPro camera (1280x960p, 30fps) the quality gets a little less. Very frustrating as I am clueless after a long time of looking for what I'm doing wrong..
I use Premiere Pro Version 4.2.1
    Sequence presets:
    General
    Editing mode: Desktop
    Timebase: 29,97fps
    Video Settings
    Frame size: 1280h 960v (1,0000)
    Frame rate: 29,97 frames/second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
    Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)
    Export settings:
    Format: H.264
    Preset: Custom
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Frame Width: 1280
    Frame Height: 960
    Frame Rate (fps) 29.97
    Field Order: None (Progressive)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels.
Has anybody got an idea what could help here?

Thanks for the replies guys, but unfortunately the problem isn't really solved yet..
I tried checking the maximum render quality, but that only resulted in my laptop not being able to smoothly play the exported video.
Filming with the 1280 x 720 setting is possible, but then the footage just doesn't look that sharp.. (as I can't film in 60fps, I got the first GoPro 960).
I installed Cineform and converted a little test video to AVI. This resulted in an export video without quality loss, but the conversion with Cineform took way too long for it to be a practical solution cause I edit a lot.
At last, Abhishek Kapoor, I couldn't find the video setting you're talking about to increase the maximum bitrate.
Any other ideas that might work?

  • Image Quality Changes After First Preview

I've only been using Aperture for a few weeks but seem to have a problem when I preview any newly imported RAW images.
After I import any new RAW files, I'll select one for preview and for no more then a second the image looks great. Then all of a sudden the quality/brightness/sharpness reduces in front of me.
This only happens the once for each image, after that all images remain at this lower quality once previewed.
It's almost like Aperture is processing the image when I click to preview, but not in a good way.
It there a setting I should be looking for? I thought Aperture processed the image at the point of import, not when you first preview the image?

There can be other causes for this effect than are described above.  On the 5DMK3, if you have the in-camera Picture Styles set to anything other than Standard or Neutral, the Picture Style will be applied to the JPEG but Aperture's Raw converter will not apply the Picture Style adjustments when it processes the image.  Thus you will see some kind of shift in colour and/or contrast.
So either shoot only in JPEG mode if you want the Picture Styles applied to your images, or change the camera Picture Style to Standard or Neutral.

  • Camera Quality Changed After 10.2 upgrade

After upgrading to OS 10.2. the quality of the camera just changed. With the flash on, the images are sooo dark you can hardly see the images. A lot clearer when you take a picture without it. regardless if the area is really dark, a bit dark or with enough light. The rleft side is without the flash and the right is the one with flash.

Let me suggest you manually install the most recent official OS, 10.2.0.1803.

  • Video quality changing at export

I import a high q movie file, .mov to final cut x.
My goal was just to swtich out the audio file (one song for another), but EVEN when I just import the file and export it without doing anything to it two things happen:
1- Loose video quality, noticable in colors and crispness of the image
2- It changes the video proportions some what. So it keeps the same height but it grows longer.

    This is so embarrasing!
I'm doing that, but it adds it to the beginging of the movie, or the end, so it doesn't play the new track with the movie at all...

  • Photo Quality Changed- Can't Change it back

I have somewhat of a dumb question. I was recently moving things around on my computer, and I moved all of my photos from my iphoto folder into a public folder, so that they could be accessed through my local network. That worked fine. However, when I tried to put them back into my iphoto library folder, I was unable. I was able to drag all the photos into the iphoto icon on my dock, which inserted them all into iphoto. fine. My problem is that these photos are all of poorer quality than the originals. I cant recover the original quality and it is driving me nuts! I really hope I didn't lose them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would be extremely grateful.

    Damiantrj
Welcome to the apple user discussion forums
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Yes - start over and DO NOT change the contents of the iPhoto library again - it is a data base and when you muck around in it you risk losing photos, albums, etc
Do you still have the folder of high resolution photos (should have been the originals folder from the iPhoto library) that you moved out of the iPhoto library?
If you do quit iPhoto, put the folder of originals on your desktop, move the iPhoto library from your pictures folder to the desktop and launch iPhoto and drag the original photos onto iPhoto - this will re-import and reindex them and you should be fine - just do not modify the iPhoto library again.
Once you are happy with the new library, you can delete the iPhoto library from the desktop and also the originals if you want (assuming that you have the iPhoto preference to "copy items to the iPhoto library" checked - if you do not have this checked you probably should - it is highly recommended that you leave it checked - the default setting)
