Photo Quality Photosmart 7520

Verticle lines, close together, in picture.
Printing from my pictures, Windows 7 OS, to HP Photosmart 7520 all in one.
Have cleaned cartridges twice and realigned several times.  Useing "Best" setting and quality hp photo paper.
I wonder if it is the design of the printer, which has 5 ink cartridges.  Our old HP photosmart printer used two cartridges and printed perfect pictures, however, it has given up the ghost, and, thus, our new printer, which, so far, is rather disapointing.  All help apreciated.

  • How to print on photo paper with HP Photosmart 7520 on iphoto '11

    Dear All,
I have a very serious problem. I've tried so many settings and configurations without success.
Very simple. I cannot choose the photo tray in any way and I cannot print on photo paper.
I get everything on A4 format.
The printer is working fine wih other software (e.g. HP studio).
    I can't believe I'm the only one.
    Please help!
    tks ;-)

    Hi,
I came across such issues using AirPrint from Mac OS.. probably an Airprint bug.
Go to Print & Scan and click the plus sign.
From the extended add a printer dialog select the Photosmart 7520.
Open the Use drop-down and select the HP Photosmart 7520 from teh list (Instead the default AirPrint option)
Additionally from the iPhoto print dialog click Print, the OS print dialog will appear.
Set the Paper Source as Photo Tray under the Paper Type/Quality menu.

  • Photosmart 7520 Horrible Print Quality

I have purchased HP printers for years and have always considered them excellent and reliable products. About a year ago I purchased a Photosmart 7520. This has turned out to be the worst printer I have ever owned. The print quality is terrible and unreliable. The ink constantly streaks or doesn't flow properly. The ink cartridges last no time at all. I have constantly used the clean print head and align feature with only minimal and temporary improvement. I may have to throw this one in the trash and look at another brand.

I have to agree with you.  The HP7520 is the worst HP printer I have ever owned.  It streaks constantly on regluar paper, none of my previous printers did this.
I abandoned an old reliable printer for this printer just to get wi-fi network printing capability.  My old Brother MFC250 all in one printer was the first non-HP printer I had ever owned.  Previous to that I had several HP printers, and had worked supporting HP Corvallis' site in the 90's, so I am a fan of HP technology in general.
This printer has the following shortcomings:
    1) Ink cartridges are engineered to look like they contain ink... but are constantly running dry.  I do not print as much now as I used to in the past.  (*SMALLEST INK LONGEVITY*)... If the cartridges could be made any smaller... HP Marketing would have done this IMHO.
    2) Print output is constantly streaking, requiring the printer be "tuned up" constantly
    3) Print cartridge installation/sanity check is buggy/fragile, in one case a $12 print cartridge for Photo Black I installed this week was "damaged".   I bought another cartridge, and it too was "damaged".  A power cycle of the printer yielded non problem... just a wasted purchase and time to run out and buy a replacement cartridge to replace a newly installed cartridge that had no problem.
I *just* ran out of color ink, and I'm certain that this is indeed the worst HP printer I have ever owned.
Having said all of this... it looks nice on my desktop and the chimes are nice...
What would help is a better "you are running low on ink" indication with this printer.   If I knew say, a week ahead of time that I'm running out of ink... that would be nice.
This printer may need to be recycled once I can find a review of a better one.
My wife has an old printer somewhere in storage, we may pull that one out and dust it off and plug it into the router to have wireless printing... <sigh>.
Would *NOT* recommend this printer for purchase.... heading to Amazon to add that customer review.

  • Photosmart 7520 prints with green tint on all photos

Need help in finding cause and correcting printing problem that causes all photosto have a green cast to them.It is actually most notable on in darker or shadow areas of the photo. It almost has a sepia appearance to it in those areas only. Cartiages are new, alignment is good.I use Google Picasa for storage and printing, the problem also occurs with Canon DigitalPhoto Professional software from my Canon Ti4 camera.

Hello gclyde991,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having some issues with the print quality of your print outs. I do have a few steps that we can attempt to troubleshoot this issue. First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. I have also located a document that deals with Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Series. If you are still having issues, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to write me back.  Cheers,

  • Brand New HP Photosmart 7520 prints blurry photos

Just setup my new HP Photosmart 7520. I am using the HP paper that came with the printer and the HP approved ink that came with the printer. I am printing a professional grade image. It looks like a watercolor abstract mess! Very blurry. I've already checked out the obvious help pages. Help?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @alrbridger ,
I read about the print quality issues you are facing with your Photosmart 7520. I know you had mentioned that you have tried the obvious help pages however, I am unsure of which steps you have actually tried. See the guide below for troubleshooting this type of issue and if the bad quality problem continues, call HP directly to inquire about your replacement or trade in options.

  • Photosmart 7520 print photo from iphone to plain paper

I have a photosmart 7520 and I would like to print picture from iphone and bypass photo cartridge and print on standard paper. Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not sure that you'll be able to bypass the photo cartridge as the plain papaer print will use the same colours.
In order to get the printer to use plain paper instead of photo paper the best approach would be to use the HP e-Print app as the inbuilt Airprint has limited paper size/source options.
I've included a link on how to setup e-Print here: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-topics/mobile-printing/how-to-print-mobile-devices-ipad-iphone.html...

  • Trouble printing on hp photosmart 7520

I realize this issue is a frequent one, i hope i am not being thick.  I have searched the forums here and tried everything I could find.
I cannot get my HP photosmart 7520 to print on photo paper.  Yes I have selected photo paper in both the "page setup" and the "print setup" dialog boxes, but the printer continually defaults to the 8.5x11 paper.
Are there advanced settings i have not been able to locate?  thanks in advance,
    TJ

i'm sorry to not follow you.
in the print settings dialog box there is a "presets" option where I can select photo paper or plain paper.
In the bottom part of the print settings box I can select "paper type/quality", and I get an option for Source:  automatic/main tray/photo tray.  I select photo tray and save.  i then print and it prints out of the main tray.  I go back to the print setting box and the setting is on main tray even though i selected photo tray and saved it.  i've tried this multiple times.
Is there another place to change settings?
Sorry if I am missing something.

I am sorry you are having issues with your new Photosmart 7520 printer.
    Ideas:
If you are using the Automatic Feeder, be sure to load the document print side up.
Assuming you have already installed the Full Feature Software for the printer and you are using a recent version of the Windows Operating System, the following might be  useful:

There a couple of places you can check to make sure the collation feature is being used as expected:
    Printing Preferences
Within the Application that you are using to print the document
Paper Size and Media Type are selected in Printing Preferences:
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click your Printer >

  • Can't scan to PDF file on HP Photosmart 7520 printer

I have two HP Photosmart 7520 printers  - one in my home and one at summer home.  On one when I scan I get the option of document or photo and PDF or jpeg.  On the other printer, I am not given any options and it automatically scans into a jpeg file.  How can I get the PDF format option to work on printer number 2?

    Hi @healthdesigner,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot scan to PDF on your HP Photosmart 7520 printer. I am happy to help you with your scanning!
For further assistance, I will need some additional information:
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If the printer is able to make copies.

  • How do I get the "non HP Ink Cartridge" pop up to go away??? HP Photosmart 7520

After my trial ink ran out on the HP Photosmart 7520 I installed a non-hp ink cartridge.  It prints fine but EVERY SINGLE TIME I print anything I get a pop up saying I have a non-hp cartridge installed and the quality cannot be guaranteed.  It then gives me the option to shop HP online, cancel the print, or click ok to close it.  EVERY SINGLE TIME.  I print a lot of pages and this is extremely annoying.  There is no "do not show this message in the future" option.  How can I make this stop popping up????

OK, you're receiving this error because of the non HP cartridge you've installed. This message can be bypassed by selecting OK; it will not go away until you install HP ink. Until then you should be able to print.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer when trying to photocopy says incorrect paper size

HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer - WHEN i AM TRYING TO MAKE A COPY COPY OF AN A4 DOCUMENT WITH A4 PAPER INSTALLED.  iT KEEPS PUTTING THROUGH A BLANK SHEET AND SAYING INCORRECT PAPER SIZE.   HELP!!
I HAVE CHECKED FOR UPDATED SOFTWARE ETC, CLEANED THE GLASS, TURNED OFF AND ON ETC - NO LUCK.
Why is it such a major task just to photocopy one standard piece of A4 paper with just a letter contained no photos etc or anything too tasking.
    Any help much appreciated

    Hey there @SMFTEDDY ,
I saw your thread and messages and wanted to add to it. I have checked the Copy Menu on the printer itself (below), and it does not contain the option to copy in A4 size. You might just have to use the work around scanning method recommended above to get to use the A4 size you wish to use with the Photosmart 7520.
    Good luck

  • How to install driver for HP photosmart 7520 on MacOSX 10.5.8???

My husband does basic printing of documents.  His computer is a MAC OSX 10.5.8.   We have a new HP Photosmart 7520 printer which requires 10.6 minimum.
Is it possible to get a driver for this printer for him, that will allow him to access the printer, without getting a new computer!!  ??  To simply be able to print and fax and scan.. he rarely does photos.
Please Help, as of course, he is quite frustrated, and as a result, so am I!!
    Thanks.

    Hi grammaglenys,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you having trouble installing drivers with your printer. It is true that this printer only supports Mac OS X 10.6 as the minimum requirement for the HP Photosmart 7520.
As the Operating System is older than when the printer came out, there currently isn't a driver available. However, here is a list of printers that can be used with Mac OS X 10.5.8. Archived - Mac OS X 10.5.3: Printer drivers included in the HP Printer Driver Update v1.1.1. Or you can try upgrading the Operating System to Mac OS X 10.6.
Hope this answers your question, and have a great day!

  • HP Photosmart 7520 being sold when they know its not working correctly.

With HP reccommendation last week, I purchased the Photosmart 7520 all in one printer for my Mac from Best Buy in Portsmouth.   I installed, uninstalled and re-installed 6 times as I could not get the apps to work.  I placed the call to HP and the guy said "oh, we do not support those apps that you see on the top part of the printer screen, only the ones below.  He told me to download the manual and that might help me... really...  So the next day, a deep breath, and I began again figuring I was doing something wrong.  Still would not work.  I decided to try HP again, it was a new day.  This time after explaining everything the technicial support person told me there was indeed a problem and they know it and are working on this.  I said why would HP continue to sell something that clearly does not work.  He agreed...  I can now see on this help area, this is an ongoing problem and not something new.  The tech I spoke to did not tell me there was a fix being worked on at all.
So now I guess I need to box this up and return it to Best Buy.  Oh and also another funny thing that does not work.  I can not use the touch screen period.  If I want to print or scan, I need to do so from my computer - oh, and I can't print on 4X6 photo paper, it will not feed...  HP you have dissappointed me.
