Photo's Stuck In iPad Complex Situation HELP!
Okay...here's my problem i have a first gen ipad running ios 5 and a while back the hard drive on my Mac busted so i lost everything but my family photos and important memories are still on that ipad but i don't know how to get it out i don't care much for the music as much but i really need those photo's back, they are visible in my events library but not in my photostream so how do i get it off? help PLEASE!
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your Mac.
iTunes purchases you should be able to copy back via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, for other content see if the programs listed on this page help : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

The blluetooth isn't meant to do that. It's largely meant for headphones and keyboards.
now, if you have the camera connection kit you can attach your iPod to your iPad using that (plugging the iPod's charging cable to the USB part of the CCK) and the photos will transfer. I've done it with my Touch. -

Ok so I have seen other discussions but I believe my case is different.
Here are the facts:
It's an iPad 3, latest software, using photostream, NOT syncing photos in the iTunes settings.
Pretty much every photo I have ever taken with my iPhone or imported into iPhoto has synced into my iPad camera roll, as well as the photostream.
In addition, albums on my iPhone have synced and even random albums with 1 photo in them have appeared on my iPad.
I cannot delete these photos or albums becasue it says "you cannot delete photos imported from another device" or something like that.
It's driving me nuts because my camera roll is a mess and I cannot organize it by moving or deleting the photos.
I'll say again, these photos are not just in my photostream. They have imported themselves into the camera roll and albums and cannot be deleted.
Info and links are appreciated.Ok, so I went back into iTunes and clicked sync (becasue it was unclicked), then unclicked it again and clicked apply. It told me that it would delete all the synced photos so I clicked "ok" and continued.
No such luck, the photos remain.
Maybe I can clarify a few things. By camera roll I actually meant "Photos".
For example, when you open the photo app on the iPad, there are tabs at the top labeled "Photos", "Photostream", "Albums", etc.
The photos in question that cannot be deleted or moved are in the "Photos" section.
I have used a camera conenction kit once but that was last month and this problem existed long before.
UPDATE:
A little background first. In Photos, under the Photos tab, I click "Edit" and click photos until I select a photo that I CAN delete as well as a photo I CANNOT delete. I click "Delete (1)" and the following message appears:
"Only items direclty imported to iPad can be deleted"

I have approx 1700 photo's stuck in my photo steam on my iPad. I've tried everything, even reseting the device. All photo's came back when I set my iPad back up. They are eating memory up. I've tried everything to delete them. Half of the photo's are duplicates, even triples. Help.
Try and sync your iPad Photos to an empty folder on the computer. That should remove all your photos on the iPad.

If you have a pc, when you plug your iPad in you should see the windows pop up window offering to backup the photos. Do that and it will save all your photos and videos to your computer where you can then sync them back to your new one.
If the pop up doesn't come up, double click on my computer and navigate your way to the iPad. Double cick on it an d navigate to the DCIM folder. Drag your photos and videos to your pc, then sync them back onto your iPad. -

Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream. -
I have double and triples of photo's on my iPad. Not all my pics but most of them. I was told that I screwed up in synching with iTunes when I initally set up. How in the **** do I get rid of all the dups? I cannot delete them from my iPad. HELP ME!
If the shows are in fact still on the pad, they will be found in the videos app, not the music or I tunes app. Look there and see if they are still there.
If you don't see them there, go to the searchlight screen ( farthest left home page) and type in the name of one of the shows. If it is on the pad, hiding somewhere, this will find it.
If they are not there, they should not be using up space.
To get them back onto your pad, plug in and sync again. Make sure you transfer purchases first. Before you sync, take a look at the video tab in your I tunes, and check what you want and don't want synced. -

Hello. I have a problem. I cannot delete any apps from my ipad. It won't even wiggle when i tap and hold on the icon. There's also no restrictions and passcodes in my settings. My photos on camera roll even get lost once i shut down my ipad. Please help.
The preinstalled apps, those that came as part of the iOS, cannot be deleted and will not shake or provide the black circle-X for deletion.
Others should do that if you touch and hold for a few seconds.
If they are not, do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears. -
I want to import photos from iphoto to my ipad. The help button said to press the photo button under the device list. There isn't a photo button shown. Could it be hidden?
If you connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, on the right-hand side of iTunes (not on the left) there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders or albums/events to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

Hi Sir Kelpie,
The Camera Roll on your iPad only contains pictures that you have taken with your iPad. To get pictures to download from your computer, you need to sync your iPad through iTunes, and sync whichever photos you have selected to be sync'd on the Photos tab.
Once you attach your iPad to iTunes, look at the photo tab. There you will see options to sync Albums, Events, etc. Select what you want to sync, and then sync them to your iPad.

Just upgraded to the latest iTunes and iPhoto and now cannot change photos on my iPad, can anyone help please?
Try one or more of the following:
> Restart Your Computer
> Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
> Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer. -

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How to transfer photos from PC to ipad without erasing photos already loaded. The only option I find in itunes is to synch, which only transfers into one album on the ipad. I'm sure I'm just missing an easy step. Transferring photos from PC to android is a snap, can't be this hard with ipad.
