Photo's won't delete from Photo Stream?

So I took a picture with my iPhone 4 and I have photo stream on between my iPad 2 and my Mac Mini, so why when I delete the photo from my iPhone it doesn't delete from photo stream?

How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream in iCloud?
Individual photos cannot be deleted from your Photo Stream. You can, however, delete all the photos in your Photo Stream by clicking the Reset Photo Stream button in your account at icloud.com. The Reset Photo Stream button will instantly delete all Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud, but it will not remove any Photo Stream photos that have already been pushed to your devices."

  • HT1657 rented video won't delete from my ipad even after I watched it.

My kids rented and watched a video on 12/24 and it still appears on my itunes under rentals.  I can highlight it but it won't delete from my itunes or my ipad.  When I go to play it it says it cannot be opened i'm thinking because it has been watched and is expired.  Any ideas on how to remove it from my ipad and my itunes?

    Hello techno-man
Try dragging and dropping the music on top of your iPad to sync the music over, also ensure that you are syncing the recently added tracks.

  • I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

I experienced this issue as well.
    Background:
I had opened an ICS attachment for a repeating event on my iPhone, which added the item to my phone's calendar. I did not have the option to delete the calendar entry from my phone, and the item did not appear on the calendar on my Mac. My phone is currently running iOS 7 (but the problem began quite awhile ago; I don't recall which version of iOS was installed when it started).
    Solution (summary):
Create a new calendar, move the items that you wish to delete to the new calendar, then delete the new calendar
    Solution (detailed steps):
    Create a new calendar
On your phone, open the calendar app
Tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the "Add Calendar..." option
Give your new calendar a good name, such as "Delete me"
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to save the new calendar
Tap "Done" in the top left corner to finish editing the list of calendars
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars
Assign all calendar entries that you wish to delete to the calendar you created in step 1
Tap a calendar entry that you wish to delete
Tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner
Scroll down until you see the Calendar field (on an iPhone or iPod it's usually just below the bottom of the screen), then tap the Calendar field to bring up the list of available calendars
Tap the name of the calendar that you created in step 1 (e.g. "Delete me"); the screen should return to the main calendar entry page
Tap "Done" in the top right corner of the screen. You may need to then tap the "< Day" button on the top left of the screen to return to the main calendar view
Repeat the instructions in step 2 for each of the calendar entries that you wish to delete
Delete the calendar that you created in step 2 (this will delete all calendar entries assigned to this calendar)
From the main screen in the calendar app, tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Tap the entry for the calendar that you created in step 2 (e.g. "Delete me")
Scroll to the bottom of the scren and tap the "Delete Calendar" option. You should be prompted with a warning that explains that "All events associated with this calendar will also be deleted."
If you're sure that the only items on this calendar are items that you wish to delete, tap the "Delete Calendar" button
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to exit the Edit Calendars screen
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars. You should now be back at the main view of the calendars app
Rejoice, your pesky repeating calendar events have been deleted
At this point all of the items that you assigned to the deleted calendar should be gone
Repeat the steps above for any entries that you missed
Post another message to this thread if this did not resolve your problem

  • File name with symbols won't delete from trash.cache\trash\cache folder.

Any suggestions as to what it is and how to get rid of it.
At present am trying reinstall of firefox and virus scan.
    Thanks

I tried to do the instructions Adobe gave me but when
I put in the disc that came with my mac and hold down
C when it restarts it takes me to the screen to do a
    fresh install.
At that point go to the Menu & select Disk Utility - I can't remember exactly which menu but you should be able to find it easily... there isn't too much there
I went into the disk utility through the Apps folder
and for somereason the option to repair isnt
highlighted and it wont let me click it. I tried to
repair permissions/verify but it doesnt change
anything. I looked at the info and it says the volume
can be repaired, but it wont let me.
You can't Repair the disk the system is currently running the OS from - That's why you have to boot from the Installer disk (or some other start-up disk). Repair Disk addresses directory structure issues - totally separate from what Repair Permissions does.

  • I deleted time capsule files that were old, but now they won't delete from the trash

I deleted some time capsule files from the drive I am using for time machine.  It placed them in the trash, but it won't delete them.  It is asking if I want to delete only locked files or if I want to delete all files.  I have tried both, but they are still showing up in the trash.  It won't remove them.  Does anyone have any suggestions, as I do not know what else to do.  By the way I tried holding the option key and clicking empty trash and that did not work either.

Are these files being used by Time Machine. If so, this is how to delete files from a Time Machine backup. You can not delete them using Finder. Mac 101: Time Machine
Deleting data from a Time Machine backup
To delete all backups of one or more items from a Time Machine backup, follow these steps:
Click the Time Machine icon on your Dock to enter the Time Machine restore interface.
Click on the item you would like to delete. Command-click to select multiple items.
Control-click (or right click) the highlighted item(s) and select "Delete All Backups of..." from the contextual menu, or select "Delete all backups of..." from the Action Item menu.
Authenticate with an administrator password when prompted.
Important:  Do not use the Finder to move to the items to the Trash, or to move or delete items in your Time Machine backup repository. The folder containing your Time Machine backup repository is called "Backups.backupdb" and is located on the external disk or Time Capsule you have chosen in Time Machine preferences.

  • Messages won't delete from inbox

Just upgraded to iOS7 on both iphone 4s and ipad2. In mail, on both devices (which are linked) deleted messages won't erase from the inbox - even though they have been permanently deleted from the mail editor on my computer. When I swipe left and hit trash, the message goes away for one second then reappears. I've tried re-booting the phone, didn't work. I definitely have the right passwords associated with the mail account in place. And haven't made any other changes to the mail settings since upgrading the operating system. I noticed that no one else has posted this problem using iOS7 yet, but have seen some threads using earlier formats - none of which were helpful in fixing my problem   thoughts? suggestions?

rebuild your inbox using mailbox menu->rebuild.

  • Droid X Emails Won't delete from GMail server

I have tried to go to Menu and settings and find a way to have my gmail emails deleted from the gmail servers after I delete them on my phone.
Can anyone point me to the direction of an existing solution or can advise?
    Thanks

Yes it is my Gmail account. What i found I need to do to ensure that when I delete the emails from my phone they delete from the server is to, on the Droid X:
    1) My Accounts, find gmail account and select it.
    2) check the box 'sync gmail'
    Then it clears the server.

  • Deleting mail from the Mail app won't delete from my email account

Hello, I'm new to macs but I have set up my hotmail accounts on the mail application built into the OS, but when I press delete with an email selected, it gets deleted from the app but not from my hotmail email account. This must be somewhere in the settings, I just cant find it! Any ideas?

Sorry I should have said, I am using an IMAP connection between Outlook.com (the server for my [email protected] account) and Mail.
Broadly speaking the setup is working well and i can happily send and receive emails using 'pushed' emails (IDLE command). It just doesn't delete any of the emails on the server if i delete them on the Mac.
(as a side, the setup also generates 2 emails in the sent folder. But this is another issue on another discussion)

  • Photos won't delete from hard disk

I try to delete photos from within lightroom and i get the message "the photo could not be moved to the trash."
    Any thoughts?

That recently happened to me and it was because I had inadvertently left the image open in CS3. Do you have any other application running that might have a lock on these images? Or, do you have the images tagged as "read only"?

  • Files disappear but won't delete from my MacBook.

I'm running out of space on my drive and started deleting big files a while back thinking I solved the problem. Now my disk space is full. What keeps happening is that it won't send my files to the trash when deleting and says that they are being deleted immediately. But my disk space stays the same and the files disappear. So now I don't know why I can't delete anything and I don't know where the files are going. Help??

    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • How do i unsynch my emails from hotmail on iphone 4 so that if i delete from my iphone, it won't delete from the desktop email?

I can't "unsynch" my hotmail emails from my iPhone 4.
I had this previously set up on my phone so that I only had my main inbox (no subfolders) and if I deleted an email then it only deleted it from my phone, not from the desktop email.
However, due to having to reset my whole hotmail account today, I had to delete my account from my Iphone and reactivate it, but when I did so it synched everything and now I have all my subfolders etc... and when I delete an email from my phone, it deletes the message from my whole account.
Does anyone know how to re-set this?

The only way to do that is to use a mail server with IMAP access, such as iCloud or Gmail. What you have is a POP account, which is the type provided by most ISP's.

  • Songs won't delete from iphone

I've absolutly had it.  I have searched and done enough of that to find a solution to this problem.
I directed a musical 2 years ago and I have the soundtrack still on my iphone.  The problem is, I don't want it on my iphone any longer.  I unchecked it from itunes and made sure to check sync only checked songs.
    Nope, still on there.
So I unchecked synch only checked songs, got all my music on my iphone....then unchecked the box again.
    Nope, still on there.
I then wen't to the settings - music app and unchecked show all music.
Some of the songs were gone, but there was 1 album and 3 songs still....so Nope, still on there....
Fine, I can always get the music again from the CD and from my cloud.  I TOTALLY deleted them and sent them in the trash in iTunes.  Synced my music.
You guessed it, still on my phone - 1 album, 3 songs.
Last step I could thing of was to uncheck sync my music librarys (completly removing my music from my phone).
Now I have no more music on my phone....
EXCEPT FOR 1 ALBYM AND 3 SONGS!!!!!!  The songs are STILL on there.  I can't swipe to delete them, syncing doesn't do anything and I can't seem to get them off any way.  Now, I understand it's 3 songs, but it is the principal of the thing now.  They don't even exist on my computer anymore.  Why in the world are they still showing up on my iphone?!
If anyone can please help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.  I've got a 64GB iPhone 5s with iOS 7.0.4 installed.

  • App no longer offered won't delete from iPhone or iTunes

I downloaded the app, Google Offers, a while ago.  The app is no longer offered from iTunes on the store.  I am unable to delete the app off my phone.
-The icon is "darkened" on my iPhone screen
-I am able to click the X to delete it and the message comes up saying "Deleting "Offers" will also delete all of its data."  I click delete and the icon doesn't go away.
-I have checked my restrictions and am able to delete apps.
-I do not see the app listed on my apps list on iTunes of all of the apps I have downloaded (whether I have them downloaded or not)
-When I have my iPhone selected in iTunes, and click the apps tab to see my different screens and apps downloaded, the icon is there, and when I hover over the other icons, an X appears, but not on this icon.  The icon is NOT darkened on this screen in iTunes like it is on my actual phone screen.
-If I try to drag and drop the icon in the trash from iTunes, it drags, but then just shows right back up
-I cannot right click the icon in iTunes for more options
It really seems like I've done everything I can think of, can anyone else help out or have any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    b

    Hi groovyb,
You may want to try simply resetting your iPhone to address this issue, then proceeding to attempt to delete the app as normal after the reset:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, you may want to create a backup of your phone and then restore the software:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Yosemite failed to download and won't delete from launchpad?

    Hey,
I have tried downloading Yosemite several times on my macbook pro, and each result has failed. The download starts off, but the the message "download has failed, check the purchased page" comes up. Also, i can't delete the "paused/failed" version of Yosemite from my launchpad. i have to shut down my laptop for one to delete. So for example, i could try downloading Yosemite 3 times in one day, each try failing, and each fail appearing on my launch pad. To delete them, i would have to shut down my laptop three times for all three copies to disappear.
does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem, or the solution?

Have you deleted the installer in the Applications folder?
