Photo "save as"

I have a samsung galaxy S4. This has been an ongoing problem from the moment i installed firefox months ago.
Every time I try to download a photo from the internet using firefox, the picture is unsuable once it's on my phone.
I have tried multiple methods of download ("save as" & "save link" when available). As well as trying multiple methods of opening the picture once downloaded ("gallery" & other third party extensions).
Clearly the problem is with firefox. This is a real let down because the desktop version is amazing.

Sorry for that. I think the issue with the extension when your saving.
Just Hold on the image and it give the option to save the image.

When I mail photos (via GMail) from my iPhone they are received on my PC as .jpg files, even if sent at full resolution. Perhaps your e-mail service has imposed an attachment size limit, and in the process scales the attached picture down and alters the file extension?

If you are talking about landscape pictures, hold the phone so the camera is at the top and the volume buttons on the bottom. If you hold it with the volume buttons on the top, the camera is upside down.

1 User account can't import photos/save changes

We have seperate logons for our shared MacBook - We have a shared iPhoto library, stored under /Users/Shared/Pictures - both of us are administrators on the MacBook, and both have full Read/Write access on this directory. Until very recently this has worked great. However now when my wife imports photos, or tries to make changes in iPhoto, while it appears to take/save, when we go back into iPhoto the new photos are gone and any changes she made are gone.
We do not have this problem with my account. Any changes I make, or photos I import are viewable by either of us. However I have noticed that if my wife uses iPhoto, then we log her out and I go into iPhoto, I get an notice that the iPhoto DB must be rebuilt.
Any ideas of what might be causing this only on her account? Could we have a bad .plist file somewhere on her account?
The only other thing that started at the same time is we could no longer sync photos to our iPhones, however researched this site and using the "delete iPod Photo Cache folder" quickly resolved that problem.

How does iCloud Photo Library backup photos & save iCloud space

I was reading about how to free up some space on my iCloud account (5GB).
Since the Camera Roll is the only thing that is backed up to iCloud, I would periodically import all my photos to iPhoto and delete them from my device. This would make the Camera Roll pictures move over to my other albums which are NOT backed up to iCloud. Now I ran into some apple documentation which explains what exactly gets backed up on an iOS device and its reads like this:
Photos and videos on your iOS devices, unless you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta on your iOS 8.1 device. If you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta, your photos and videos are already stored in iCloud, so they aren’t included in your iCloud Backup.
So basically if I turn on this iCloud Photo Library on my iOS device, it won't back up any photos to iCloud, because they are already stored in iCloud? What does that mean? Is this going to free up some iCloud space if I turn it on on my device? If so, how exactly does it work that will save me space?

I don't know, sorry. It's supposed to work alongside Photos & iCloud, so that photos are stored only once. When it doesn't work you have a couple of options as I see it –
Delete the old backups on iCloud to hopefully start over (I don't like deleting the only backup of anything).
Forget about iCloud backups & use iTunes to backup instead, it might not be suitable if you have no computer etc.
Buy more storage for iCloud.
I don't use iCloud backup, it bemuses me with issues like this, there is no easy way to resolve when it fails.
And one more question while we are at it...can I erase iphoto from my computer now that I have the new Photos app?
That is up to you. If you are happy you do not need it & have a backup of it go ahead & remove it. You can re-download it from the app store if it is already in your Mac App store account.

After downloading IO6, can't capture photos from Facebook. I get "save photo" instead of "save image". While browsing, save image comes up and photos save to camera roll. Seems to be a problem only on FB.

Downloaded IO6 on my iPhone 4s. Now I can't capture a photo off Facebook to the camera roll. When I try, I get a "Save Photo" tab rather than a "Save Image" button, The photo does not save to camera roll. For email images and Safari images, "save image" comes up and save to camera roll. Why do emailed photos save as firefox documents and not jpeg? I don't even have an option!

I can download the photos from Facebook as JPEG butwhen I open them from email to save, they only save as a firefox document. I don't even have the option of jpeg. Is there a way to correct or get around this than a technophobe can understand and execute?

TB crashes when I try to save attached photos - Save all attachments (Not responding)

I received an email with two photos (2.5 megs together). If I try to save either photo or both at the same time, Thunderbird crashes and I have to terminate it via Ctrl Alt Del.
I tried Safe Mode and disabled all Add-ons to no avail.
This is the first time this error has occurred although I've had this version (31.0) installed since it came out.

That sounds like your anti virus is trying to scan them and hanging the process.
Try disabling email attachment scanning in your anti virus.

How can I save a photo from an email? I used to be able to tap the photo and it would save to my Gallery but for some unknown reason the phone no longer provides this function. What changed and how do I save a picture? thanx

Have you tried long pressing the image to if you get a dialog with options to save the picture?

How can I disable camera roll? All photos save to Photo Stream which means I have two sets of photos and am wasting memory.

Using the camera app on the iphone saves photos to camera roll. With photo stream switched on I obviously have to sets of photos on my phone which means I am wasting memory.
Is there a way of making the Photo Stream library the primary library. This way you can save to photo stream (on iphone as well) and then not waste the memory by double parking your photos.

If you are worried about this, turn off PhotoStream.
As already provided, PhotoStream is temporary serving a designated purpose and limited to 1,000 photos and 30 days for the photos.

Why do many of my edited photos save with a blank icon and not open?

I am using Elements 10 on a Windows 7 computer. I have been trying for 2 days to edit and save my photos. This is only happening about 1 in 10 times yet I take the same steps every time. I have checked the properties of the blank files which cannot open and they all have a different Type of File e.g. MODEL file (.model) and 1 File(.1) They were all saved as jpeg but only the ones with 'Opens with Windows Live Photo Gallery' actually open. The ones with blank icons say 'Opens with: Windows Shell Common'??? They don't open. If anyone can help me I will stop crying thanks.

Try renaming the files to something like 1234.jpg
Make sure the file name contains only one full stop (period)

I had my phone replaced by Apple on the 8th February at the Apple centre in Trafford Centre. They asked me if I wanted to download my information from iCloud which I had last saved on the 6th February. The photos that were download were not my photographs. Some of them were of a highly explicit nature of persons (male/female) whom I do not know. The couple in question would be mortified to know I have received their intimate photographs off iCloud. All the photos were deleted and I was told an iCloud representative would get in touch with in a couple of days, which they did not. Since then I have been on to Apple again about a differed matter and they tried to get my original photos back on my phone but again these initiate explicit photos were downloaded to my iPhone. My 13 year old niece has been staying and has used my phone but thankfully did not look at the photos. I have complained to Apple and had no satisfaction and I found their representative Alex de Matos rude and condescending, He also told me this had never happened before, he needs to read this website. I am now going to get in touch with the Trading Standards agency and the Data Protection agency as Apple have violated principle 5.

Deleted photos save in photo stream??

I'm just wandering why in settings>general>usage>photos the My Photo Stream part says 8.8 KB and it increases whenever I delete photos from my camera roll, I don't use My Photo Stream at all
