Photo sharing issues between iPad mini 2 and Macbook Pro

I'm trying to share two albums from iPhoto on my macbook to my iPad mini 2. However, nothing seems to be working, iCloud and Photostream aren't communicating between the two devices, bluetooth keeps telling me that my iPad is not equipped to receive these jpegs. Both devices are on the same apple ID account and i've done everything i can think of to change my sharing and privacy settings to allow the transfer, can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this problem??

You can't use Bluetooth to share the photos unless you use AirDrop and your Mac has to meet certain requirements in order to do that. You can read about that here.

I'm not sure why you just wouldn't sync the photos using iTunes. That's how I move my iPhoto albums and events from my MBP to my iOS devices. The newest iTunes interface is not the same as this one, but the process still works the same way.

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture.
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

Streaming video from an iPad mini to a MacBook Pro using Airplay

How do I stream video from my iPad to my MacBook Pro? I want to watch the video content of my iPad mini on my MacBook Pro. I have a mac-based application called "Reflector." and it says an iPad can stream video using Airplay, but I have no idea how to start Airplay (or cause it to stream video to the MBP).

But as you see there is no Airplay button beside the AirDrop button on the control panel. I see this same control panel on all my iDevices (or at least there is no Airplay icon on any of them). There aren’t any. AirDrop between the platforms requires that the Mac support Bluetooth 4.0, which wasn’t introduced to them until the 2012 models.

That is because that sync ability (for contacts and calendars) has been removed. Use iCloud instead.

Handoff not working between iPad Mini Retina and 2014 Macbook Air

So, I've upgraded to Yosemite today on my 2014 Macbook Air and have updated to iOS 8.0.2 on my iPad Mini Retina.
Both are on the same wifi network. Both have bluetooth enabled and are paired.
Both have handoff enabled on them.
With all that, I cannot for the life of me get handoff/continuity to work between them. I've reset both machines and reset network settings on the iPad but still no joy.
Am I missing something?
PS I don't have an iPhone, but I'm assuming it should work between an MBA and iPad?

Seamless PDF compatibility between iPad Mini 3 and Mac Preview?

First time owner of an iPad here - iPad Mini 3. Longtime user of Mac computers.
I read a lot of PDF's and I am constantly highlighting. I bought an iPad exclusively to do reading/highlighting of PDF's. I would like to be able to highlight PDF's on my iPad and then see the highlighted marks when pulling up the PDF on my rMBP's Preview. I use Preview on my laptop because it is really convenient and straightforward for highlighting PDF's.
Is this possible? I've just realized neither iBooks nor the Adobe Reader app allows highlighting of PDF's. I don't understand why Apple needs to make this so difficult?

To clarify, I am not looking for something that permanently alters a PDF document, but could be "un-highlighted" by the Mac Preview app need be.

How do I transfer photos from iPad mini to my Macbook Pro?

I have about 30GB of photos on my iPad mini (which were added from a SD card through the SDcard cord with the lightning cable end) and i am trying to take them off my iPad mini to free up space, but still need to keep the photos. I tried importing them through iPhoto on my Macbook Pro but it said all the files were corrupt. I tried putting them back through the SDcard cord onto an SDcard but that didnt work either. Is there any way to get these photos onto my Macbook Pro or even a USB stick? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Image Capture is a built-in program and should be in your Applications folder, Aperture I bought from the Mac App Store.
For Simple Transfer it's an iPad app, so you would download it on your iPad from the app store.

Why does Home Sharing not work on iTunes 10.5.3 between a Windows PC and MacBook Pro?

I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop which is my older laptop, consisting of all my music, apps and so on. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro (latest version) and would like to use Home Sharing to browse my music libraries and so on on there. However, I find that I am unable to do this, after several methods I have attempted in order to resolve this issue.
The Home Sharing on the left column does not appear at all.
I have upgraded iTunes on both laptops to the latest version yesterday, which I assume is iTunes version 10.5.3.
I have turned off Home Sharing, and turned it on a few times.
I use the same Apple ID to log in to Home Sharing.
I named both playlists/music libraries to the same name - not sure if this is a way to 'fix' the problem but I saw it in a thread.
I tried all the above methods, but to no avail. Home Sharing still does not work - in fact, it does not even appear on the left column; it disappears as soon as I turn on Home Sharing.

First, each Library should have a unique name, not the same name.

Sharing iphoto on 2 computers: imac and macbook pro

So I got a new iMac and was able to load all photos from iphoto on my laptop and now I would like to know if the desktop and the macbook pro iphotos can "sync"--that is if I load photos on my laptop iphoto then the photos will also appear on the imac. Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but the basic activity is iphoto. thanks! kate

What do you mean by "Sync".
The general term means when two Libraries (A and B) are compared and files in Library A are copied to Library B, while files in Library B are also copied to Library A so that both Libraries are identical.
This is bi-directional copying and you cannot do this with automatically with iPhoto. No Syncing software is capable of parsing the iPhoto Library in this manner. One or both of your Libraries will be damaged if you try this.
You can have uni-directional copying - files in Library A are copied to Library B - this is essentially backing up. Obviously you can also copy from Library B to Library A.
The nearest you can get to syncing is to use iPhoto Library Manager to move files/ALbums/Events plus assoicated metadata between Libraries. This process cannot be automated.

Wi-Fi Connection Issues with 2 PC's and MacBook Pro on Router

Okay so here is whats going on.....
I am staying with my Mom for a short period of time. She uses Xfinity from Comcast. They provide her with a residential Home Gateway which provides her the internet and the Wi-Fi signal.
My Partner is also staying with us.
My Mom owns two PCs one runs Windows 8 and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. My Partner also runs a PC which is running Windows 7 Professional.
I have a Macbook Pro Retina Display Early 2013 release. Intel Core i5 2.6 GHz. 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
Well oddly enough I can access the internet just fine, I am right now as a matter fact. The issue is that if my partner boots up her PC her wi fi somehow kicks everyone off the internet and she cannot connect to the internet herself.
I do not know if its my settings in my MacBook Pro causing the issues or if something is wrong on her PC or my Mom's. Either way its extremely annoying. We all need to be on the internet at the same time so constantly being booted *****!
I checked and I have no new system updates available. I am currently running Mac OSX 10.9 (13A603).
The router has been power-cycled and we have done a reset on it. Its an Arris TG862 I believe. There is only one other wi fi network in the neighborhood as we are in a retirees community so chances of anything weird or someone using our wi fi is unlikely. Unless some old person is super tech savvy and bored. he he maybe tho lol.

When you say check hers to make sure it's not set to static IP whose are u referring to?? Mom's or my Partners?
And under what setting do I go to for the DHCP scope?? Advanced? What should I set it to?

I need to transfer files between my iPhone 5 and my MacBook Pro. The latter is running Mavericks. I have enabled AirDrop on both devices (I chose "AirDrop for Everyone" on my iPhone), but when I click the AirDrop file in Finder on my Mac, my iPhone doesn't appear.
Thoughts?
