Photo Sharing Problem

I try to send pictures to my friend, like we've done before, and I drag the picture to the ichat box to send it and it sends. After a minute or so, I get a pop up saying "AIM error: Communications with the AIM proxy timed out. Try again." My friend has a macbook so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. I can still picture share with other friends that don't have macs. We've both tried logging out and trying again. I've even deleted her off my buddies then re-added just to see if that would work. Didn't.

iChat uses 29 ports in iChat 3 and 20 in iChat 4.
The default Log in port to AIM is port 5190 using the TCP Protocol
This can be changed.
iChat also uses this same port but on the UDP Protocol to Send File and do Direct IMs (Pic-in Chats)
Some modems do not like this dual use and it can pay to go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings and change the port to 443 (Port 443 is used by secure Web sites and Mail apps)
They will have to be logged out of their AIM Account to make this change.
AS you can still do it to other people as it were it sounds like their end that needs to be changed.
It is also important that if their method of opening ports in their Modem (or router) specifies Protocols that the 5190 has the UDP Protocol attributed to it.

hi mate, no worries i am here to help.
could be a corruption of memory also, if it happens to several photos. you can perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons until the phone turns off then vibrates.
as for uninstalling, simply swipe across to the app list (the screen on the right that has a long list, not the one with tiles all over it), and tap and hold on Nokia Camera, then tap Uninstall. go into the Store and search for Nokia Camera and tap Install.

IWeb Photo Sharing problems

We have a iWeb photo page where visitors were able to click on a picture and save it on their own computer with it being a normal file size. Now, it seems when you try to save a picture it is shows up as "transparent" and only allows you to choose .gif or .bmp as the file extension.
I am not sure what changed....any thoughts??!!

...same question here: some of the photos on my site (www.christelvanmeeuwen.eu - still under the old iWeb for now) are from families, and, though they've let me use them for my site, should not simply be available for download, unless with explicit permission. On the other hand, I want to make some other photos available for free download, e.g. is someone wants to use them on his site or so (the Creative Commons philosophy).
So it would be quite convenient to be able to switch the download possibility on or off.
(I know that its virtually always possible to download an image on a site, one could always use a image grabber or so - but having the download button always there of course doesn't help...)
Any hint would be helpful,

Photo sharing doesn't work, no folders, sorting, limit amount, waiting for library

I promised my wife that I would make a solution for us to view our photo collection on TV.
So I bought a Synology DS411Slim and copied all our photo's from all our computers to this NAS, and bought an AppleTV.
Then I shared some photo folders from the iTunes on my MacBook.
This worked for the first time and we could browse the photo's, super cool.
But then I added a folder, it took a while for AppleTV to sync the library, but after that I could not find the folder.
It was not sorted on name, it was the last folder in the list!
Then I changed the iTunes photo share folder, but now the AppleTV doesn't finish the reading of the library.
I started to read the web about photo sharing problems, and I found that there are really a lot of complaints about this basic functionality.
Viewing photo's on your AppleTV is one of the first things that you want to do imho, I'm not interested searching for photo's on Flickr,
I want my own photo's, and I want to see the folders.
I really don't understand this from Apple, what do I tell my wife?

Situation:
I store my Pictures (8K) and Music on a DS212j equipped with 7200RPM.
I reference my iTunes to this NAS and have done a consolidated files on the NAS.
I homeShare on itunes the shared folders on the NAS with 8K pics.
Want to see and hear all that on my Apple TV.
The problem:
Apple TV Music Library over Itunes works flawlessly. GOOD
XBOX 360 access the pictures on NAS via DLNP and works flawlessly. GOOD
iPhone through Synology Photo apps get through all Pictures. GOOD
Apple TV Pictures Library over iTunes : dont get out of loading libraries! NOT GOOD
The Question:
Since everything works with the NAS (Music with iTunes, Pictures with Xbox and iPhone), what is going wrong with the Pictures Library of Apple TV through iTunes?
The NAS vs The External Drive
I often see answer saying NAS is not the best place to share photo, but reality is that it will be more and more ofenly use since it is a good solution for a family with grewing pictures library and Apple TV should manage it...
1- I dont use external drive on a Portable MacBook Pro
2- wife and kids just dont want to touch an external Hard drive!
3-... And Xbox read it from NAS flawlessly... ThereFore, it should work on the Apple Tv.

No. If you don't have the album you originally used to create the galleries you can do so by dragging the photos from each gallery to a new, empty album. Then when you find the photo sharing site/option you have decided on you can easily upload each album to the site.
Another option is to obtain a hosting service and create iWeb photo pages for each album and future albums similar to this photo page in one of my demo sites: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow. Or you can use the iWeb album page and have an album for each iPhoto album on it like on this demo page: Page-7 .

I have photo sharing turned on, on both my Iphone 5 an my PC Icloud control panel but yet my pictures will not show up on my PC, how do I fix this?

I had a previous problem with this with my old iphone 4 and did not realize there was an issue until it was stolen. I would like to get this straightened out just in case anything ever happens with this phone.

3 questions: 1) I am unable on my Mac Book Pro to enable iCloud Photo sharing in iPhoto preferences, why not? I cannot see my iCloud drive contents.Why not?

Having a Macbook Pro i have taken and loaded in 569 photos from my cameras and want to share using iCloud. But I simply cannot get iPhoto to enable iCloud photo sharing. What could be the cause? what should I try other than the instructions which I followed three times already as outlined in the FAQ section of the help function?

so far they sent me this; Disk has no problem.They may have more to say to me re the flash drive and results of storage diagnostics and ASDs ( what is this? ) when I see them .

Photo Sharing - Download Size?

May I first say what a great upgrade this has been... I know from reading other comments that it hasn't been the same for everyone but it was very simple to get my site updated and be working apart from one thing... here is my problem.
I've made a load of photo pages by dragging photos out of the media inspector panel within iWeb 08 from images that are hi-res (2272 × 1704 pixels) within iPhoto 08. When I select the photos to be shared in the inspector panel (second button from left) I select "Photo Sharing - Download Size? - Original (Full Quality)... all good up to yet... I publish my site and when I go to the images online and download them they have been resized to 1920 x 1440 pixels.
Why?

'Optimize photos' is enabled by default. I think is a good thing since my domain file was reduced in size after upgrade from 3.5GB to 1.6GB. But if you really want original images to publish then you need to turn off 'Optimize photos' in prefs and then add photos.

IOS 8 Photo Sharing not available

After updating to iOS 8 Photo Sharing is not available on some iPads 4s while it is on others. I have checked setting to make sure Photo Sharing is turned on.
On one iPad 4 running iOS 8.0 all is working fine. Under iCloud > Photos > I see iCloud Photo Library (Beta) it is turned off; My Photo Stream turned on; and iCloud Photo Sharing turned on. If I go under Photos & Camera I have the iCloud Photo Library (Beta) turned off, My Photo Stream turned on; iCloud Photo Sharing on; and Summarize Photos also on.
On another device that is also running iOS 8.0 under iCloud > Photos > there is only My Photo Stream. That is all that shows up there. If I go to Photos & Camera I see My Photo Stream turned on, Summarize Photos turned on. The other settings mentioned above are not even there to turn on.
I tried re-inviting the other person to the Shared Photo Stream and she got the email on the iPad and Accepted the invite and received a message to turn on Photo Sharing in settings. Everything is on that can be turned on.
This is not the only iPad doing this. We have a number of them having the problem within our school after updating to iOS 8.
I should mention the Photo Sharing was working before the update on the devices and the shared photo stream is working on her MacBook.
Anyone with any idea on what could be causing this and a fix?

Can't enable iCloud photo sharing on my Mac

I recently had some problems with my computer where it would not turn on so I had to restore from a time machine backup. Ever since the backup, everything on the computer is working exactly as expected except for the fact that I cannot turn on iCloud photo sharing. I've tried to sign out of my iCloud account and sign back in... didn't help. I tried to delete iPhoto.... Didn't help. I have noticed that if I have the "Photos" checkbox under the iCloud menu in System Preferences checked that a process called "iCloud Photos" comes up in the Activity Monitor. This process takes up 100% of my CPU and never goes away. I'm pretty certain that this is the issue but I'm not sure what to do from here. If I try to end the process it just comes back up. The only way to get rid of it is to remove the checkmark in the iCloud preferences window. I have attached a few screenshots to help illustrate. Thanks in advance for your help!

I just tried with a different iCloud account and it worked! So the problem is with my iCould account... unfortunately, it might not be very easy to troubleshoot.
UPDATE: When I signed back in to my normal iCloud account it still worked! I'm not sure what signing in with the other account did but it obviously helped! Thank you so much for your help!

Photo Sharing in ios 6 shows all my photo streaming pictures

I decided to test the photo sharing feature in ios 6. I created an album and sent it to myself and was horrified to see that not only could I access the test album, but ALL my photo streamed pictures were available for viewing. I created another album, sent it to a gmail email account I have and had other same issue. Next, I created a third album and send the "public sharing" link to myself: it didn't show the third album but rather the previously created second photo stream album, even though I had already deleted it.
I never had this problem with MobileMe.
ANy suggestions?

I just did the same upgrade with my 3GS. I am having a similar problem. My contacts are on the phone now, but my music and apps are not. When I try to restore the back up this is the message I get: itunes could not restore the iphone because a session could not be started.
I see my my music and apps in my itunes library, but if I try to autofill it to my phone I get this message: itunes cannot add any songs to the iphone because no songs in library can be copied to the iphone.
Can you help?

IPad photo syncinc problem from Aperture

Hi,
I have a weird photo sync problem (Itunes 10.0.1, Aperture 3.0.3). Sometimes when I add a project to Aperture and an album under that project, I can't sync that to my ipad as Itunes doesn't see any pictures in the album.
My Aperture library is huge so I'm not syncinc all of it, just selected photos. When I open iTunes, plug iPad in and go to iPad photos page, the project and the album appear in the list but if I check either one of those, the number on the right showing the number of photos in the album/project, is zero and nothing gets synced.
Sometimes I've been able to fix this by restarting aperture and itunes. I've tried reprocessing previews (previews are 2560x2560) but it doesn't seem to help anymore.
I've sort of localised the problem to Aperture. When I quit aperture, an information window "updating information for sharing previews" and a progress bar apperars. If this takes only a couple of seconds, then iTunes doesn't seem to detect any changes I've made. Sometimes it takes from 30 seconds to a minute and usually after that everything works.
I tried to google this and others seem to have had similar problems but I didn't find a solution. Is there one?

IPhoto 6 to iPhoto 5 sharing problem.

So I've transferred all my pix from my ibook which was running iphoto 5 to my imac which is running iphoto 6.
So far so good. I've got photo sharing switched on in both iphotos.
Problem is when I try to see my desktop photos on the ibook via the sharing facility I get an insufficient disk space error on the laptop.
any solutions?

Photoshop/Elements to Revel Photo Migration Problem!

What happened to my Photoshop/element photos? They were supposedly migrated, but I don't see them! I have no albums in my Revel account.I had a paid subscriiption and it was cancelled back in or around February, and told that the photos would be moved over to REVEL...Can anyone help me to get them back?

First, thanks Pattie for following up with me. I am going to check my backed up hard drives to see if my photoshop materials are on them. It will take me a few days, as I have only small amounts of time to research it at this time. maybe a break will come in a day or two for a determination.

Is it possible you logged into Photoshop.com with a different email, or is it possible that you did not set up your Elements to sync with Photosho.com? These are the two main reasons users can not find their files.
The Photoshop.com account created in 2009 with the email you use to log in to this forum has no files in it, and therefore, nothing migrated to the Revel account with the same login. You do have a Revel account with the same login, but it is also empty since nothing migrated.

PSE 10 photo sharing?

The photo sharing feature in PSE 10 does not work in Windows 7. Nor can an image be attached to an email, PSE 10 appears to be seriously flawed and not fit for purpose. Has Adobe addressed this problem and provided a 'fix', does anyone know if a solution has been found?

What failure are you getting?
What email client have you specified in Edit -> Preferences -> Sharing?
If you get the organizer crashing when you try to set up the email, try using Windows explorer to find the organizer application at
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
[omit the (x86) part if on 32 bit system]
Right click on it and select Run as Administrator - you need to do this only once.
