Photo shop 7 to final cut pro

I'm looking to use photoshop 7 to format photos for use in a slide show produced in final cut pro. looking to quickly adjust size and color for best broadcast results. Also if this can be done as a batch. Basically looking for an efficiant way to get quality photo's and graphic adjusted and into FCP. Please forward any suggestions.
Thanks

.psd photos work great if you want a transparent background. .tif files will work also. You'll have to go to [adobe.com] and check out how to batch out of photoshop.

IIs there an export function from Lightroom? Did you export? Does the exported file contain your edit?
THe hard drive file size doesn't matter. What matters is the image size, it's dimensions in pixels.

  • How Do I Import Photo to Movie into Final Cut Pro?

Hi all - I just bought Photo to Movie for Mac and am attempting to import it into Final Cut Pro (which it says can be done). Anyone familiar with this? thanks for any help

  • Tried to use PixelMator as default external editor but iPhoto has only final cut pro as external editor and won't let me change?

I tried to set up Pixelmator as external iPhoto editor bot only option in Preferences> advanced> edit photos is iPhoto or Final Cut Pro?

You have previously set FCP as the external, editor - in the iPhoto preferences select FCP again and a window will open for you to find and select Pixelmator - if that a photo editor ?

  • Final Cut Pro Sudio 2  Camera not recognized

I have Panasonic Model No. PV-GS400 camera. Its recognized in I Photo but not in Final Cut Pro suite 2. Is there a way to change any of the settings to capture camera in Final Cut Pro? Stock Doc
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Try changing your capture presets to one that matches your camera, and of course make sure your camera is in VTR/VCR mode. Make sure you are using Firewire.
If this doesn't work, run through the regular trash prefs, repair permissions, etc.

  • Final Cut Pro v10.03

    Please help.
I have 9500 4mb photos to put onto Final Cut Pro v10.03 but they dont seem to be loading on. I have even left fcp to work overnight but I just get the beach ball & fcp seems to freeze.
I'm thinking I may have to use an external hard drive, which I have, but have no idea how to run fcp through this or even if it is possible. Can anyone help please? I think it is having problems at compression stage.

    This shouldn't be a problem.
What format are the images? They should be TIFF, JPEG. Photoshop, PNG and the like.
They should all be RGB - make sure they're not CMYK.
It's best to work via External HD as Luis says - but not essential.
Are you running FCP X 10.0.3 ? You should upgrade to this if any of the images are Layered Photoshop files.
Also I suggest you Trash your Preferences . . .
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs when FCP X (or any of the Apple Professional Applications) are working normally. Then when either of the applications are acting strangely, Trash the Preferences, then Restore from your backups (just a mouse-click).
If you trash the prefs and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then your backups are up to date.
Doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes a lot.

  • Final cut pro crashing with slide show photos

I am working with a large slide show - a few movie clips, but mostly still images from Aperture.  The photos were shot wtih a Nikon D300 in Raw, not that I think that matters much at all.
Becasue this is a slide show I am working wth short durations for the images - usually 3:14.  Most of the transitions are simply cross dissolve, but some are more complex.
I am getting again and again crashes - or the spinning color circle going to oblivion and requiring a Force Quit.
Either can happen when adding new material, moving arround existing material, or trying to reset durations, add text, different transitions, or working wth the Ken Burns options.  Sometimes it also happens when resizing the time line zoom level.   This marvelous feature seems the most consistent way of trashing the application so I tend to leave it alone.
I may be able to work for an hour or only a few minutes.  Sometimes deleting and re-adding an image seems to help, but that may not be true - most of the time it's just simply random.   The system has 14 Gig Ram and I am using iCleanMemory now to see how much is in play.  A crash / freeze may occur with a lot or a little - usually looks like I have about 8.9 Gig in play for normal use of Final Cut and no clear change when it crashes / freezes.
Clearly the images are compatible - they are from Aperture and there is no consistency in always the same image being the issue.
Below is the first part of the error report dump.
Hoping someone has an idea for how to overcome this.
    Appreciate the thoughts.
    Cheers -
    Dan

Well, I filmed many of those videos in HDV (the 2x2 wall, the 5x5 wall and some of the 10x10 wall). Plus I converted the whole project to HDV because it is the way I displayed it (thru camera to Plasma TV's) and I wanted the HD space to work with and since part of my videos were HDV I figured that would be best.
Of course the DV footage is not so good quality, but when made very small for that big screen it looks fine I think. Yeah the AIC codec is great but it takes 4 times as much room, but you think that would work better hey?
I just don't want Final Cut crashing like that. I don't care if it can't play it back in real time or it takes 10 seconds to display 1 frame.
I have not used motion....would it work for what I did. Remember I used over 100 discreet video streams I had. I don't want to replicate the same layer...you get the drift.
Did you see it in youtubes HD? What did you think of the quality?

  • How Do I Create A Photo Collage in Final Cut Pro X?

    Hi all,
I'm a total newbie with Final Cut Pro X.  I'm using it to edit aerial drone footage for real estate sales.
I have video from the outside of the houses, and I can edit that just fine.  What I want to do, though, is have a kind of photo collage/montage of photos of the interior of the houses somewhere in the videos.  But like I said, I'm totally new at this and have no idea how to do it.
If someone could explain how or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Karl

I put out a remake of the Photo Recall effect a few weeks ago called Photo Recall Enhanced (it adds a lot more features to the effect already available in FCPX.)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I8Lo0tFdPU
(there's more info in the About section under the video.) There's no charge.
All you need to do is stack the images or video you want to collage on the sceen and add this Effect to each clip. You can set the Background Opacity to 0% to get rid of the "recall" effect and that will leave you with just the "photo" on the screen.  There's an onscreen control to help you position the image and other parameters for scaling and rotating (and all of these things can be keyframed for animation.

  • Final Cut pro X and photos

I have just started using the test version of Final Cut Pro X. I want to use some photos from iPhoto in my movie, however the photos have already been edited in iPhoto, but I want to use the original photo from iPhoto, not the edited photo.
Is this possible (I do not want to have to set the photos back to the original for the movie and then have to go back to iphoto and re-edit them)
    Thanks in anticipation

depends on, how you use iPhoto.
Usually, any Original is stored in the iPhoto Library/Originals (to open that 'closed bundle', ctrl-click, select 'show package'); if you have set iPhoto to keep the photos in their own location, dig there.
FCPX will import/copy the photo to an Event anyhow - so, no danger to lose any precious originals

You would need an image editor to edit the images and add a border to the image first before importing them into Final Cut.

  • Why my final cut pro is in photo mode? (Photo is appearing on the top of my timeline)

    Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
My final cut pro is in photo mode. over my timeline (middle left of the screen) , there is the icon movie and next to it the word "Photo". When I export my edit to Compressor i can use only the photo format and not the video even if im working on a video sequence. it is not recognized as such. it is weird.

Let face the evidence I have to make some progress with FCP
Because the FCP X UI is so accessible, and because people can accomplish a lot of tasks intuitively, new users often try an intuitive approach to learning the application.  However, FCP X is actually a deep/complex app and making the effort to get some structured training is a good investment (IMO). There are books, video tutorials - with and without practice exercises - and, of course, classroom learning. Lots of good sources for that, including Lynda.com, Ripple Training, Larry Jordan, the Apple Pro Training from Peacjpit. Many contributors here recommend Izzy. Tom Wolsky, who is the top contributor here is a teacher/author with info on his  site. All of them offer some form of samples so you can see who's style best fits your needs. Do a search.

  • Workflow for GoPro photo timelapse in Final Cut Pro?

Shot a timelapse using photographs and the self timer with the GoPro HD.  But am having troubles with the proper sizing for final cut pro.
I used Quicktime 7 to make all the images into a .mov.  But when I bring that file into final cut, it's nowhere close to as sharp as it should be.  The photos come out of the GoPro at 2592 × 1944 @ 72dpi.   When I kick it out in Quicktime 7 it comes out as, 1224 × 917.  Then when I bring it into a 1280 × 720 timeline, it looks like junk.
Any suggestions on the proper workflow and settings to do this the best possible way?

    Hi,
Personally I do stills time-lapse conversions in motion.
Set up a project same as your sequence (1280x720 in your case)
Import the stills as an image sequence, resize (and do moves if you wish) on the oversized image sequence.
Then export it as a QuickTime movie in the same codec as your fcp sequence.
    Works a treat for me.
    Cheers

  • After Effects & iMovie Photo slideshow into Final Cut Pro

    Hi,
So this is less of a specific problem per say but more of a general inquiry of an important and time-sensitive nature.
My partner and I recently made our first "professional" grade picture montage / slideshow. Most was in After Effects however some was made in iMovie. We've exported everything to mpeg 4 and are combining it all in Final Cut Pro.
    My questions are as follows...
    (1) It's being projected onto a screen therefore the highest quality of image and video is our main concern. Is MPEG4 the correct format to export it to? If not, what would be a better one? And if you don't mind a quick explanation, why is it better than MPEG4?
    (2) Is there a better and more quality protecting method other than exporting out of iMovie and AE to then import it directly into FCP, undergo another slew of renderings and exportings only to end up with a possibly sub-par product?
Thanks so much for any advice/help you can give!
    Julie

It plays smoothly in both the canvas and the viewer. I expected that, as ProRes clips in a ProRes timeline, it would integrate more seamlessly than the myriad codecs also on the timeline. Instead, it suffers from the only issues in the Final Cut Project.
I will give your suggestion a shot when I get home though. I conformed the settings that way with the motion graphics I exported from After Effects, and they're suffering the same issue, though not as conspicuously.
