Photo shop on a mac?

Hi can you get photoshop on a mac pro cause every time i try to download it it comes up with an error????

"...cause every time i try to download it it comes up with an error????"
Download? From where?
Unless you are downloading it from the Adobe web site and you paid for it, it's a pirated version and you should not expect it to work. Photoshop is a very expensive package and is commonly pirated. The pirates sometimes will add a little malware to the package,
If you need most of the functions but at a hobbyist's proce, look at PhotoShop Elements here:

On my previouw mac I had Photo Shop Elenemts and Photoshop CS3. Both of the later had features that I liked.

I take it you are looking for replacements for the apps you used on a previous Mac?
I do not have Photoshop Elements, so I do not know about compatibility. But this site will tell you:

Photoshop CS3 does run in OS 10.9.1. (I use it just about everyday.) You do not have to give it up.
And there is Gimp, which is free and powerful.

  • I up dated my mac to 10.10.1 now Photo shop will not open - help

I up dated my mac to 10.10.1 ,how do I get Photo shop CS6 to open?

You may have to reinstall. CS6 has been tested for Yosemite, but I suppose it would break some installs.
    Using an Administrator account:
So uninstall (uninstaller is in the CS6 folder). Remove Preferences if asked.
Use the Cleaner Tool  Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    Reinstall.
Don't forget to apply the updates when you do.

  • Hi, i'v tried to down load photo shop but it requires Adobe first. My mac wont support this. Can anyone help ?

Hi, i have a G5 mac and would like to down load a free trial of photo shop. It requires me to down load Adobe first, however my computer wont allow this. Can any one suggest a remedy??
    Thank you.

Requires Adobe what first? Photoshop is made by Adobe.
However, it is unlikely that your G5 Mac supports the latest version of Photoshop which is now only made for Intel Macs.
You might consider buying an older version on eBay or Amazon.

  • Photo Shop Pallet problems

I am using Photo Shop on a duel screen set up with a Thunderbolt Monitor as one screen and a Cintiq as the second screen.  I'm using a Mac Book Pro to run the whole thing.  Typically, I use theThunderbolt monitor to hold the pallets, and the main window is on the Cintiq.  Lately, anytime I navigate away from a Photo Shop to a different window, when I return to Photo the pallets will have jumped to the far right side of the Cintiq, and they will be all on top of each other. I've tried setting up a different workspace, but it doesn't makes any difference. It's driving me crazy!

A couple of questions (and I am not a Mac user, so bear with me.
Are you effectively using three screens?  I'm wondering if the MBP screen is also active.
What version of OSX are you using?  Did you have this problem with a previous OSX version?
I don't suppose it makes any difference, but are you using Display port, and or HDMI connectors?

  • Is it possible to download a previous version of Photo shop (ie. cs4 or cs5)?

Is it possible to download a previous version of Photo shop (ie. cs4 or cs5)? I purchased Photo shop CC for my windows computer but when I attempted to download it to my mac I was told that my computer does not meet the system requirements.

I don't know your OS, but I'll assume Snow Leopard 10.6.8  In which case Photoshop CS6 would be the best especially if you have a cloud membership like the Photography Plan.

Install and sign into it with your Adobe login.

  • Photo-Shop 5.5 compatible with OSX?

    Hi All...
My son purchased an OsX-based machine this past summer - I'm not sure if it's panther or tiger... I came upon a used version of Photo-Shop, version 5.5 . Among the system requirements it includes "PowerPC based Macintosh computer, Apple System Software 7.6 or later".
Not being at all familiar with Mac - sorry, if I didnt make a living developing Windows software, I'd cut over in a heartbeat... - I'm a bit skeptical whether this software will run or not. I do realize the OsX machines have a very different operating system based on Unix. If it will run the software, I'll give it to my son as a Christmas gift - if not, I wont bother.
Will the newer OsX operating system support PhotoShop 5.5 that requires a PowerPC-based machine?
Thanks for your help in advance and happy holidays!
    Curt

If he bought one of the new machines that are based on the Intel processor then he won't be able to use any programs that require the Classic Mac OS. It isn't just a matter of OS X, in older machines you can run pre-OS X programs in a kind of emulation environment inside OS X. But the new machines that have the Intel architecture won't do that. There is an emulation mode, called Rosetta, that will run programs built to run OS X applications that were for the PowerPC machines. The oldest version of Photoshop that meets this requirement is version 7, or Photoshop Elements version 2 and up. Any program for PowerPCs that are also pre-OS X won't run on an Intel machine.

  • Photo Shop 7 and Leopard - Is it a Go? Or No Go?  :)

    Hi Gang
Do you guys know if Photo Shop 7 will work in MAC OS X Leopard?
    Thank You
    Mike

    Hi Buko
Yes thank you - got it
(maybe I forgot to mention that I have an older Power PC, not a newer intel based Mac). I don't think I'm going to upgrade to Leopard just yet. I don't have the money to go out and buy CS4.
I'm still using Photoshop 7, and After Affects 7.

  • Aperture vs photo shop vs paint shop pro(

I'm a new Mac user..... on my PC I've used both Photoshop (harder to use) and Paint Shop Pro easier but still a lot of options). I'm not a professional photographer but I take a lot of pictures and enjoy enhancing them.... more then just taking the red eye out or slightly adjusting the colors. So I'm looking for some photo manipulation software that is deeper then just fixing your photos but not quite as complicated as Photo Shop is. Is Aperture the way I want to go?
Does anyone have any suggestions for me or reviews I can read?
    Thanks, Susan

Hi Susan. I'm an experienced Photoshop user, but I'm using Aperture 2.0 for more and more of my post-processing of images that do not require masking. My workflow using Aperture for whole-image adjustments is faster and, with 65,000+ photos, the savings in hard drive space vs Photoshop will be huge.
I'm learning Aperture bass ackwards, in the sense that I've been drawn into its image processing abilities before learning how to use it for managing my collection.
Be aware that Aperture really hammers your hardware, especially the video card. Download the trial version to see if it will work well with your computer system.
