Photo stream access?

hi there,
i had some trouble with my iPhone 4s and got it replaced (great service, by the way!).but i lost a lot of the pictures that were on that phone.
now these pictures are all still visible on my apple tv photostream and my ipad that had photostream activated the whole time. but i would like to back up all my photo stream pictures on a local harddrive (to make a photo book for example) - and that does not seem to work. i can't download the pictures through apple tv and i can't access the photo stream pictures on my ipad through a sync with my computer...
now i upgraded my mac to lion and then snow lion because i heard i can access photo stream through the new iphoto. but the new iphoto only accesses the last 30 days of photo stream...
in the end it seems that my photos are stuck in an in-accessible cloud nirwana the good thing: they seem to be all there. the bad thing: i can't get them out of there...
is there any apple or maybe even third party app that lets me manage my full photostream? iCloud.com does not offer it (yet) and the apps do not seem to offer a solution.
any hints and help very welcome
thanks!
p.s.: apple, pls consider an iManagement feature for the iCloud webinterface (or as an app for the desktop). I have trouble with some of my playlists in iTunes Match. the order of playlists gets messed up between computer and cloud and that's annoying, especially with DJ mixes.

Presumably, PhotoStream is syncing via iCloud  , and att servers are being used.
Well, I am assuming something like that. What I'm wondering is why? Why is Apple (PS) talking to AT&T?
Perhaps a better question is, do they need to talk to AT&T?
I realize this is a rather obscure question to be posting here. But I was hoping someone might actually know the answer.
Thanks for replying.

The most recent iPhoto is 9.4.2, so open Apple menu > Software Update and install the most recent iPhoto. Also, check if you have another iPhoto copy of an older version on your Mac

I cannot determine whether and how I can share my photo stream with other people through the web. Am I limited in accessing photostream to my own computer, iPhone, and Apple TV???

You can't share Photo Stream via the web, only on your own computer and iOS devices.

If you have iPhoto 8.x and want to access photostreaming, you need to buy iPhoto 9 from the App store or buy the iLife '11 package. Have you already purchased iPhoto 9 from the App store?

  • How do I access Photo Stream to use as a screensaver?

I have previously used my iPhoto Photo Stream as a screensaver on Apple TV.  It seems that each time I lose it (e.g., after a power failure) I have more and more difficulty restoring it.  The only screensaver listed on my Apple TV menu is National Geographic.  My Apple TV is 1st generation.  I cannot seem to find a link in iTunes.  I know I'm missing something, but what???

Thank you for your response.  I discovered my mistake -- Home Sharing was not turned on on my Apple TV menu.  Duh!!!
I'm pretty sure that what I have is 1st generation , and I've always been able to access my photos in one way or another!

  • Cannot access photos in photo stream folder

PS Touch on my iPad iOS 8.2 cannot access photos in the photo stream folder.  They appear as blank boxes.  Why?  The photo stream folder contains photos that are shared across devices.  The photo stream folder appears in the app but when opened blank boxes appear where the photos should be.  After doing a search, I see this has been an ongoing problem for other users & uninstalling/reinstalling does not fix the issue.  The workaround is to copy the photos into Camera Roll then import them from there.  Does Adobe plan to address this issue in a future update?

  • Photo Stream album not listed. I have to go to iCloud to access it. ?

Trying to add photos to my photo stream. I originally have a Photo Stream on my old PC, which is now in the closet. I have all my photos on my mac. How do I access my Photo Stream? In my iPhoto, it only shows up when I go into iCloud. I don't have the little"flower" album. Does it exist anymore? I have to go into iCloud under the "shared" area where iPhoto is located. How can I get that album to show up? Do I need to access my old PC remove it and start over in Mac?

The "Shared > iCloud" item in iPhoto's Source List is the only place, where you will be seeing your Photo Stream on a Mac, that is correct.

  • Access photo stream on new mac

I have all my photos on my iMac and I can pick up my phot streamed pics just fine on my iPad and iPhone. But now I have a new Macbook Air, and I simply cannot figure out how to access any of my photos. I have set up all my folders on my Mac for sharing (right click folders, select Get Info, and selecting appropriate Sharing permissions), but I still cannot seem to access photos or even just my photo streamed photos. Any ideas, anybody?

On a Mac you access your Photo Stream in either iPhoto or Aperture. Quotes below are from iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
How do I turn on My Photo Stream?
After you update your devices and set up your iCloud account, you can easily turn on My Photo Stream on any of your devices:
iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos (or Photo Stream in iOS 6), then turn on My Photo Stream.
    Mac:
Go to Apple () > System Preferences > iCloud.
Select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream).
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is selected.
Open the app that you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on in that app. You can also adjust your My Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
How do I view My Photo Stream?
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Your photos will appear in the My Photo Stream album in the Photos app. If you're using iOS, you can find your photos by tapping the Photo Stream tab, then tapping the My Photo Stream album. In iOS 5, your photos are in the Photo Stream album.
Mac: Your photos appear in the Shared albums section under iCloud in iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5. In earlier versions of iPhoto and Aperture, your photos appear in the Photo Stream section. In iPhoto 9.4 or later or in Aperture 3.4 or later, open the My Photo Stream album.
PC using Windows 8.1: From the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud Photos app.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
Apple TV: After signing in with your iCloud account, you can view your photos by choosing iCloud Photos or Photo Stream from the main menu (or selecting Internet > Photo Stream in Apple TV Software Update 5.0).

  • Restore Access to Photo Stream?

Created a photo stream for a trip I recently took. Invited a lot of my friends, but realized those who do not have an iPhone cannot view unless I make the photos public. Sent an invite to myself, hoping I would receive a link and be able to share that. The photo stream immediately disappeared, and I never received the link I was hoping for. Restarted my phone, photo stream was back. Went to the photo stream, then people, and next to my name saw "Invited", as if I never accepted the invite. Removed the invite. Photo stream immediately disappeared again. Restarted phone again, but this time, never came back. Sent a message to one of my friends who had previously accepted the invite and they said they could still see and access the photo stream.
All that said, is there a way to get it to re-appear on my phone? Seems that it still exists.

Looks like it finally came back. Once one of my invited friends accepted, a notification came up on my phone, was able to tap it and open the stream. It now appears in the shared section of Photos, but had to "download" all the pictures again.
