Photo stream added to side bar but not updating
I've added Photo Stream to the Finder Side Bar of OSX Mavericks through the Smart Folder Saved Search option.
However, the photo stream in the Finder Side Bar is not updating with new pictures taken from my iPhone.
Would anyone have a solution possibly to allow the photo stream to update and be shown in the Finder?
Hmmm... not sure about PC but I did have this same problem while syncing to my MAC... the cause was that my contacts sync was conflicting with other sync data... Once I changed settings for Mobile Me with contacts and address book it was resolved...
For PC... my only guess would be that a program that is told to sync contacts doesn't allow or is conflicting with the assigned photo you've set on iPhone...

No solution to offer, but I can say that you are not alone. I am having the same exact problem.
I installed "Photos" around April 8. "My Photo Stream" shows up in the sidebar containing pictures up through April 6 - nothing later. Photos taken with my iPhone since then do not show up.
My iPhone and iPad both have Photostream on and working. Photos taken with either show up almost immediately on both devices. It is only "Photos" on the desktop machine which is broken. Like you, I have tried turning Photostream on/off, restarted both desktop machine and phone. Nothing. "Photos" photo stream is stuck in time at April 6. -
My "places" in photos is working on my phone but not transferred to my iPad in Photo Stream even though the photos transfer. It used to work, so did I do something?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.

Is there a way to stream "older" photos to my PC that were stored on my Iphone before I implemented "Photo Stream? NOTE: My Photo Stream "pushing" function is working, but I can only push "new" photos to my PC.
It might not be streaming but have you considered copying the photos directly off the iphone onto your PC? I plug my phone in via the USB cable like usual and in Windows Explorer, navigate to Computer\Apple iPhone\Internal Storage\DCIM\860xxxx and there they are. Copy & paste and you have pictures.

I have added photos from iPhoto into Photo Stream and enabled my iCloud but I can't see any uploaded photos. Does this sound right?
Enable PhotoStream in iCloud first, then add the photos to PhotoStream in iCloud. Of course, you will need PhotoStream also enabled on your other devices also in order to view them.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what are the pixel dimensions of the photos in question?
did you import one library into another at any time?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device. -
Photo Stream is only seeing Scan #.jpg, not the Photo Title
Can anyone tell me how to correct an issue I'm having between our iMac/iPhoto and Photo Stream... I scanned in about 500 photos of the family history and nammed each file with a descriptive text. However, when I import the photos to the Photo Stream, I only see "Scan 893.jpg" even though iPhoto clearly shows "Bill's Birthday". I've loaded and re-loaded, still only get a Scan Number in Photo Stream. In iPhoto I don't even notice a scan # unless I hover the curser over the Info box where "Bill's Birthday" is clearly displayed, an after a few seconds the "Scan 893.jpg" shows up.
When I started this little project to share with the family, I actually notice the scan numbers coming in only, I had been putting details in the Description sections. I played around with the File Name/Title and got it to come through the Photo Stream and Apple TV, so I thought I had it resolved... but now none of my family can see the descriptions. When I look at my own copy of the Photo Stream through iPhoto, I only see Scan Numbers also.
Thanks!Photo Stream only uses the file name, not the title. The title only exist in iPhoto. To get the title to be used in Photo Stream once must export the file out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu with the option File Name - User Title option. Then import the new photos and add them to the Photo Stream.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I've just started a subscription for the Photographers package, when I open PS from LR to edit an image, the thumbnail appears in the side bar but the image area is white, I'm sure this is a stupid newbie mistake but I can't for the life of me see what I've done wrong.copernicus1952 wrote:

Are you referring the the multiple thumbnails in ACR side bar? I don't use LR but I do use Photoshop and as far as I know Photoshop has no sidebar with image thumbnails.

iMovie seems to have developed a glitch. When i try to import photos they show in the timeline but not in the movie.
Any ideas?You are probably looking in the wrong place - all photos in Photo view and in event too unless you have a corrupted library
most common cause of your not finding them is bad sort - view menu ==> sort events
Nest most common cause is a bad data/time on the camera - this can be corrected using a smart album to find the photos from that camera and then using using the adjust time/date command to fix the bad ones
YOu can alwasy find the event a Photo is in by selecting it and selecting show event

Are you putting the photos in the Uploads folder on your PC.
