Photo stream appearing on iPad2 once in a while

My icloud and photo stream sync perfectly on my iPhone 4 and my PC.  My iPad 2 is properly syncing my calendar and contacts from the same icloud account.  But, with the same account info and everything in my settings turned on to sync, my iPad photo stream now says "No Photos".  It has worked intermittently during the first month I had the iPad.  Now it just shows "No Photos".  I have shot iphone pictures everyday lately, and nothing shows up on my Ipad2 What might I be missing?

Okay...I'm back.  The problem still exists, and rebooting rarely helps. As I said above, photo steam works on my PC and on my iPhone 4, but rarely works on my iPad 2.  Sometimes my photos appear, but more often I get the "no photos" screen.  I am open to helpful suggestions...

You will need to do that by syncing them with a computer and then syncing the computer with the iPad.

  • Photo Stream in my iPad2 doesn't work. Help me

Since I have updated my iPad 2 to 5.1.1 version, the photo stream worked well but today it doesn't. I capture one photo in my ipad but that photo isn't uploaded to photo stream so i can't get it in another devices.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Thanks all so much.

Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.

  • Only part of my photo stream appears on my new ipad

I have an iPhone 5 and ipad, all using same Apple ID. I just bought a new mini and used the same Apple ID to set it up.  I currently have 850 photos in my photo stream (on my phone and original ipad) but only 250 of the photos are appearing on my new ipad. I have photo stream enabled on all devices. The 250 photos go back exactly one month. How can I get the other 600 photos onto my new ipad?

    Hi Gergorlana,
Many thanks for your question today.
In short The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
You cannot have photos on My Photo Stream on iCloud stored for more than 30 days.
If you want to have all your images from your devices on your new iPad.
Import all your images to your Mac or Pc and then:
    Go to iTunes
    (New) (Name's) iPad
    Go Photos
    Click Sync Photos from
Click on the folder and click choose
Find the library where the images were saved and click on the import button
Click sync and then all your images from the other iDevices will be on your new iPad
Many thanks for your question today

  • IPad2 - Photo Stream - Duplicate Photos...

I along with several other people by the looks of this forum am having problems with photo stream on my iPad2 and the photo stream more often than not being empty. What i have noticed is when the photos do sometimes appear on my iPad, there are 2 copies of all photos!? If I take a new photo and it appears in the photo stream folder then there is just 1 copy of it?
Is anyone having the same thing as me?

The photos that appear duplicated are actually there from two separate locations:
    1.  Photo Stream
    2.  From your Mac, an iPhoto event with a name such as "Aug 2014 Photo Stream"
You can remove the photo from one of these sources on your Mac, and then you won't see what appear to be the duplication.

  • Photo stream not syncing

so i have a iphone 4s a ipad2, apple tv and i have recently downloaded icloud for pc. My problem is that my photos are not syncing to each device. they all have different images under photostream although they are logged in under the same icloud account. The main pictures are taken from my iphone so what i have done is copied the images from the camera roll on my iphone and copied them into the photostream folder in the icloud software on my pc. when i then turn the photostream software back on on my ipad it only brings back a few clipart images that were saved locally on the ipad months ago from a colouring app.
on the applt tv it is the same thing it will only bring in a few images but these are not the same as what opens on the ipad they are from my phone but only a few. also since i copied the pics from the camera roll on my phone the photostream on my phone has reduced in size also but nothing like the ipad or apple tv
    any help would be appreciated

Here's a little more detail on what happens.  When you take a photo on your phone it's saved to the camera roll.  When the photo app is closed, you are connected to wifi and your phone has at least 20% battery life remaining, it will then upload to photo stream in iCloud.  Once there, iCloud will stream a "device optimized" copy of the photo to your iOS devices and Apple TV, and a full resolution copy to your computer.  Once on your devces, a rolling collection of up to 1000 photos will remain on your devices until deleted.  However, they only stay in iCloud for 30 days (even though they remain on any device that has already received them).  Because of this, when you connect a new device to your photo stream, it downloads all the photo stream photos still in iCloud; which are only the phtoos from the last 30 days.  This creates a situation where you may have old photo stream photos on your phone than the ones you have on other devices, which were connect to your photo stream at a later date.
To get these older photos to appear on your other iOS devices, you can add them to a shared photo stream and invite yourself.  To get them to your PC, save them to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • No photos in Photo Stream

I have set up iCloud on all my devices.  My photo library is present on my iPad2.
I have enabled Photo Stream on all my devices.  However, when I go to Photo Stream on my iPad2, there are no photos.
I thought by enabling Photo Stream, my photos would automatically go to iCloud and be available on Photo Stream.
    Am I correct?

I use Aperture to edit my photos on my iMac.  Once I'm done editing, there is a button on the top menu bar that says Photostream.  I can highlight a photo, click that button, and it is added to my Photostream.  In a few seconds, the same photo shows up on my iPad and MB Air (in iPhoto).

  • Photo stream upload problem

I have tried this in iPhoto and Aperture, but my photo stream is not uploaded. All the photos are visible in WEB/Photostream, but they don't appear on my iOS devices.
And when I want to make these photos public in Aperture, to make them visible for anyone, the √ vanishes a second after I hit the checkbox.
Flickr stream pix do not show up either although the account looks OK.
Looks as if something was blocking Aperture's traffic, but I have nothing of that kind installed. In System Settings, Photo Stream is enabled, of course.
Thanks a lot for a good idea!
    Peter

I understand that.  The problem is that the photos stay put on Photo Stream on the iPhone after being removed from Photo Stream in iPhoto.  Once a photo reaches it's "due date" it should be removed from iCloud and subsequently from all synchronised devices.  This does not happen, it is removed from some but not others.  Right now I have 243 photos on iPhoto Stream and 271 in iPhone stream.  How come?

  • Photo Stream syncing problem

Photo stream refuses to remove older photos from my iPhone.  The iCloud Photo Stream service is supposed to keep photos on your devices for 30 days and then delete them.  This works fine in iPhoto on my iMac, where photos duly disappear from the Photo Stream folder one monthe after they were taken.  But it does not seem to work on my iPhone, older photos are just stuck there, even after they were removed from iPhoto Stream folder.  Right now I have 280 photos in Photo Stream on iPhoto and some 730 in Photo Stream on the iPhone.  This is not supposed to be possible.  The only way to remove these "stuck photos" is to switch Photo Stream on the iPhone off and on again, foricng it download photos from iCloud anew.  But this is hardly a practical solution.
The service works fine in the other sense, ie, photos taken on one device are synchronised and appear on other devices.  It is just that, once added to the iPhone, photos are not removed automatically after 30 days.
Anyone having similar problems and / or an idea for a solution?

  • Troubleshooting Photo Stream on Apple TV

I've created a Photo Stream in I-Photo on a Mac Book Pro.  I've turned on "File Sharing" in I-Tunes and have selected "Photo Stream" (under column heading "Events") under "Choose Photos to Share".  When I try to view on Apple TV only the first photo of 67 in my "Photo Steam" appear.  Can you tell me how to get all photos to appear?  (Note: The entire "Photo Stream" appears on my I-Pad).

OK.  Got it now.  Internet menu is on "Apple TV".  Once all Photo Stream Photos appeared there, I was able to also set the Screen Saver to show all Photo Stream Photos.  However, under "Computer/My Library/Photos/Photo Stream only one picture continues to appear.  It's a bit confusing; but at least a user can see Photo Steam pictures!

  • IPhoto 9.4.2, photo stream-add subscriber?

    Hello
I cannot figure out how to create a list of subscribers to share my Photo Stream pics.
I succeeded in adding photos and have a Photo Stream icon in the Source panel, which shows my chosen photos, but not what? How do I notify someone or add a subscriber?
IPhoto 9.4.2, on Mac Pro with Lion.
Sys Prefs > iCloud, checked Photo Stream
In iPhoto prefs > turned on Photo Streaming.
Dragged some photos from an Event into Photo Streaming icon on left.
After a while, it finished (uploading? syncing?).
Clicked on Photo Streaming and I see the pictures.
Now trying to "Add a Subscriber."
Clicked on Share in lower right corner----pop up menu shows Photo Stream among other options (order prints, Flickr, Facebook, Email)
    Clicked on Photo Stream
Window opens saying "all the selected photos are already in your photo stream."
I know that but how do I choose people to share them with??
Went up to Share in iPhoto main menu and Photo Stream is greyed out.
I read whatever I could find, in Apple Help, iPhoto, elsewhere on the web.
Tried to find answers but either the instructions read as though I want to change subscribers, or provide step by step, where one of the steps just is not an option I see of can find.
Anyone, please, unravel this mystery for me? Thanks

    Thank you LarryHN.
While I do have an iPad Mini with v6.1.3, my MBP is only in Lion (and my Mac Pro in Snow Leopard). Oddly, until your post I could not find anything about Mt Lion being a requirement.
I followed the link you provided. More help but also more confusion.
There's this persistent presumption that key steps, detailed-specific steps, are or will be "understood." Like for example, letting someone know I have put a group of photos into Photo Stream, for their viewing. Adding subscribers keeps getting me info on modifying subscribers, not the step-by-step instructions for isolating a set of pictures, putting them into a so-called photo stream, or album, then making that available to them AND letting them know it. This morning I got as far as choosing some pics on my iPad and putting them into Photo Stream (or were they already there?) Then creating a PS or Album from a subset of those pics, giving it a name, choosing a person from my contacts....then what? I click Done. Then what is supposed to happen? Once again, this presumption of knowing or maybe it's a presumption that most people won't care to know how it is working and be done with it, after clicking done.
As a test I did this using one friend, and also using myself (using a email address other than my Apple address.)
I later opened my MBP, tried Mail to see if I got notified (nope) then opened iPhoto and looked to see if it was there. But I can't really tell. What I mean is, I do see pictures when I select Photo Stream, but there are more here than in the test-to-myself PS I set up and (sent?) from my iPad. Is this because the MBP is in Lion, not Mt. Lion? Or because, although I am the same person sending and receiving, I am using two differenrt email addresses (therefore am limited to PS only and not Shared PS?
I don't know. This is just way too murky and non-intuitive. I appreciate your reply but don't want to take up any more of your time. So I suppose I'm just whining and ranting at this point. Thanks anyway.

  • Apple TV Photo stream shows photos OLDEST FIRST.. help!

I love the apple tv, but the photostream is driving me nuts.  It's pretty useless.  I select photostream (now icloud in the latest update) and my photo stream appears with the oldest photos first!  I want to see my newest photos, not scroll through hundreds of photos to find the newest additions.  How do I fix this?
I have the 3rd generation apple TV with the latest update.
    thanks.

The subject refers to photo stream, but your post is dealing with home sharing.
If it is home sharing, as your post indicates, then both need to be on the same network (same location) as well as have the same ID

  • HT201317 Shared Photo Stream on iPhone 4S??

I have updated my phone to iOS6 & I wanna turn on my shared photo stream service on my iphone but when i go to iCloud settings and tap on photo stream, there is only one option and that is "My photo stream" and I can't find shared photo stream!! but i easily turned it on on my ipad!! someone help me!

Try going to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (Note: before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them.  To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.)  This will only delete the account and your synced data from your phone, not from iCloud.  You data will sync back to your phone when you sign back in.
After deleting the account, sign back in and turn your data syncing back to on.  Then see if Shared Photo Streams appears in settings now.

  • Shared Photo Stream Option Missing

I just downloaded iOS6 on my iPhone 4 (not 4S).  In settings->photos & camera THERE IS NO OPTION FOR ENABLING SHARED PHOTO STREAMS.  There is only the standard option (which is "ON") for enabling "My Photo Stream".
Is this feature limited to the 4S?
Is this feature limited by location?  I AM LOCATED IN CHINA - China Unicom is my service provider (official provider and reseller of the iPhone here).
    Thanks,
    Summer

So, I got it working, but I'm not 100% sure what resolved the problem.  They key is that apparently there are updated "iCloud terms of service", and you need to read and accept those before this feature will "appear".  For some reason during the install it didn't ask me to review and accept updated iCloud terms of service.
But how to get the iCloud terms of service to show up?  I have no idea.  I can say I turned photo stream (the basic service) on / off a couple of times, and I turned my network connection on / off a couple of times.  I was just fiddling around, basically, and suddenly I saw a message saying "iCloud terms of service have changed", and then it displayed a new terms of service, and after I accepted them the option for shared photo streams appeared.
The exact same thing happened on my iPad (3rd gen), which I just updated today as well.  Weird.
Just for the record, I am now left with A DIFFERENT problem - iMessage and FaceTime will not activate.  But that's a topic for another thread, I think.
