Photo stream iCloud backup

I have recently saved all my picture on my photo stream but when iCloud them on my account there was only 70 out 200 please help how can I get them back .

An easy way to transfer your photos is through Dropbox.  Download Dropbox from the App Store.  This will save ALL of the photos from your device.  (I recommend doing so over wifi depending on how many photos your have).  Once this has downloaded, download the DropBox app onto your new device.  Your photos will all be there for you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

Sorry, don't know what you are asking. You have an old iPad Mini 3 and a new iPad Mini 3?  How did you set up the new iPad? Did you restore it from a backup of the old iPad? What photos are you not seeing?

  • If you edit photos in iPhoto, will Photo Stream (iCloud) update the photos on your other devices?

Am I dreaming or will Photo Stream (iCloud) update photos on my Macbook when I edit them (enhance, crop, rotate, etc) on my iMac (automatically or otherwise)? If so, do I need to do anything besides the basic Photo Stream setup to make this happen? The movie on Apple's site about iCloud seems to imply this is true, but it's vague. I'm unable to find anything about this in the small amount of Help articles about iCloud. Thanks for any help.

    Yes via your Wi-Fi network.

  • Can I refresh photo stream to backup old photos to icloud?

There must be an easier way to transfer keepsakes from an old phone to new. I've had a 4s for nearly 2 years and upgraded to the 5. I understand photo stream only backs up photos that are 30 days old, so what can be done to keep all of them? It doesn't make sense that you'll store my 2 year old contacts, but not the photos that I've chosen to save. I guess a trip to the apple store is in my future!

My iphone4 and my ipad mini were synced to my computer, but now I don't seem to be able to see all of my content nor my photo stream.  I did see everything there several weeks ago, so I know it worked. How do I access those from my computer.  I can't find how to sign on.
This is the article that will assist with this part of your post:

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

I want to delete photos that are on my iphone, by doing so from the computer, not my phone.
Syncing your device with itunes will then enable you to remove whatever photos you wish to remove from your device deleting them with the computer and not the iphone.

  • My photo stream album (backup)

In iPhoto, when using iCloud Photo Stream, it would backup the photos from each month into a Month/Year/Photo Stream Album (event). Does Photos do the same?

No.  Each photo is added to a Moment representing the day it was taken. There's no monthly grouping like in iPhoto.
Moments are the equivalent to Events in iPhoto with the exception that they can only hold one day's photos.
However, you can create a smart album for a given month like this:
It will be like the monthly My Photo Stream Event.
Moments in Photo are the new Events.  There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When the library was first migrated there was a folder created titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events are represented by an album in the folder. To open the sidebar if it's not open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N.  Name it as desired.  It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Album/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can be sorted manually.
Ask Apple for more sorting options in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

  • Why did my photo stream (iCloud photo folder) all of a sudden disappear (and never came back)?

So, one of my photo streams (folder) have disappeared today all of a sudden (with others too) and it never came back, unlike the other ones :/. I don't know how come (though( :/. It included most of my trip photos (for this month). Someone plz help!! ;(

Photo Stream in iCloud is not your storage area, it's only for your convenient to stream photos to other Apple devices you might have.
1000 photos for 30 days, so you have enough time to backup important photos.

  • Duplication Issues with Photo Sync via iTunes/iPhoto and Photo Stream/iCloud (Detailed Scenario Given)

    Hi Everyone,
I'd like to share an issue I am having with photo syncing between my iDevices.
Here is how I USED to sync my Photos between my iDevices (no issues with photo duplication)
Note: In this scenario, I use iTunes and iPhoto on my Mac. iCloud and Photo stream have NOT been activated in this case.
    1. Take photos via iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
    2. After a month or so, I will connect my iPhone to my Mac.
    3. Import my Photos in iPhoto and arrange  Events and Photos in monthly sections and add some of them in a separate Albums (ex. Written Notes Photos) for easy access.
    4. Once the import is done, iPhoto prompts an option to delete photos in my Camera Roll which I do as I like to start a fresh month with empty Camera Roll in my iPhone.
    5. In order to access the Photos I have imported in iPhoto in my iPhone, I go to iTunes and sync all my photos to my iPhone. This syncs my events, photos, faces, albums as they have been arranged in iPhoto in my Mac. (I cant delete them in my iPhone once they are synced. I have to delete in my iPhoto and sync again to have similar setup in my iPhone which isn't a problem).
NOW I decided I don't want to manually go through all this process and went on to enable the Photo Stream ON in my iPhone and iPhoto with iCloud.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENSUES.
    1. I  Take photos with my iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
    2. This automatically syncs with my Mac due to Photo Stream which a really convenient.
    3. It syncs automatically to Photo Stream, Events, Photos, Faces section in the iPhoto and I put put some of them (notes) in a separate album.
    THE PROBLEM:
The Photos does not show up in the Album, Events and Photos Folder in my iPhone. They are only shown in Camera Roll. So I thought to sync using iTunes so the new Photos will be arranged in their appropriate folder like it used to with my prior process of syncing. This worked, HOWEVER the photos in my iPhone started showing DUPLICATES! Apparently, one comes from Photo Stream (which, if I delete on my phone also deletes in all my iDevices) and the other duplicate is from the iTunes sync (this sets up my photos as arranged in iPhoto which is what i WANT to happen as Photo Stream does not sync them accordingly).
SOLUTION I AM IN SEARCH FOR:
I want to be able to take photos with my iPhone that automatically syncs in iCloud AND iPHOTO AS ARRANGED IN MY MAC (Albums, Events etc) WITHOUT PROBLEM OF PHOTO DUPLICATES.

Other folks have resolved similar issues by trashing  the iPod Photo Cache.

  • Photo stream icloud on phonee

If the photo stream only shows certain pictures are my previous ones deleted because the space is full? Ive been using icloud and I thought that would back up any pictures. I just set it up on my computer. But I have had it on my iphone since i got it

Photo stream keeps a rolling collection of up to 1000 photos on your devices.  Once you reach 1000 photos, the oldest photos will start being deleted as you add new ones.  Photo stream keeps photos in iCloud for 30 days.  If you just set it up on your computer you will only get the photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.
To keep your photos permanently, save them to the camera roll (if not already there) by tapping Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  Then import your camera roll photos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Photo stream - icloud

I've turned on icloud but how do I transfer any existing photo's into photo stream that are on my iphone

The photos in your Camera Roll will go automatically. It may just be taking time depending on your connection/network speed.
If the photos are in albums on your phone, I believe you can move them to the Camera Roll which would get them to iCloud Photo Stream. (not sure about this one, haven't tried).

  • If I delete photo backup to icloud - does that also delete them in photo stream?

As many others, my 5GB of icloud storage doesn't allow me to do icloud backup if I include photos, so I'm about uncheck photos from backup.
I'm just a little anxious that this would also delete photos from photostream..
Can anyone say for sure that this is not gonna happen???

Turning off photos from icloud backups has no effect on photo stream.
BTW, regarding backups - always sync photos to a computer for archiving.

  • HT204022 once I delete photos from my photo stream even though I used backup before I deleted them, are they gone permanently

how do you retreive photos from icloud backup?

The iCloud backup includes camera roll photos, not photo stream photos.  If you want those backed up, save them to your camera roll before backing up (open you My Photo Stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward pointing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
Once you delete photo stream photos, they are permanently deleted.

To access your Photo Stream from a PC, you need to install the iCloud control panel and enable Photo Stream.
